"günstige Lage für Besichtigung"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com Gast am 7. Mai. 2012
Gutes Hotel in schöner Umgebung an lauter Straße
"Tolles Hotel"Bewertet von einem Hotels.com Gast am 6. Mai. 2012

"Savoy - A Bargain in Rome"
Reasonably priced in a convenient location, small rooms, but it IS Rome, and the inside of a hotel room is not the draw. Great breakfast buffet included with the room.
Nice hotel, great breakfast and staff. My only recommendation would be to get a little more comfortable beds and pillows.
"Hotel Savoy Rome a roman masteroiece"
We stayed there for 6 nights and it could not have been better... the rooms were modern and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The location is close to all the sights, and a easy walk to the metro if you want to use it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome
"Nice Hotel, Good Service, Great Location"
Great location; the hotel is nice; the staff very helpful. Good rate for room.
"The Savoy Hotel"
Great location but the room was small, the bed and pillows rock hard. The hand held shower in bathroom did not work, very low water pressure in shower. The breakfast buffet was wanting; definitely not worth the price. The internet price was listed at an affordable per minute rate but I received a $65 charge for just 2 minutes use.
"Hotel Savoy, Rome, Italy"
The presentation of the outside and interior was great. Everyone was helpful. The two things I think could be improved upon (no exhaust fan in bathroom so it made it difficult to put on make-up) and the lighting by the closet door was very poor (that is where I had to do my makeup).
"Savoy Hotel - Not close to main attractions"
This hotel was very nice on the outside and in the lobby yet the rooms weren't very nice at all. The beds weren't comforatable and the staff wasn't that friendly and rarely had a smile on their faces. They were helpful if you asked them a question but weren't eager to offer assistance. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps and […] about a 5 minute walk from the closest metro station. You were pretty far away from every main attraction in Rome, even though you should walk everywhere when you're traveling, but it would have been nicer to be closer to the city. Mehr
"Disappointed"
The Savoy is supposed to be a 4 star Hotel. When I booked, it definitely appeared that breakfast was included (for the price compared to other 4 stars, it should have been) Instead, when I got there, breakfast was "cafeteria style" in the cellar and I was informed I had to go up to the front desk each day and purchase a 15 euro breakfast coupon. Walls […] were paper thin so I could hear TV, cell phone conversations and doors opening/closing in all room in my corridor. Electricty went out 3 times in the hotel due to poor wiring triggered by a rainstorm....sounds pretty 2 - 3 star to me. Only thing 4 star was the price after paying for extras and understaffed concierge/reception Mehr
"Savoy Hotel Rome - need to focus on service"
We were given a room next to the old lift and were kept awake all night by the noise but when we raised our concern with Reception there was no care factor shown at all. They also forgot to organize our car for the airport even though we booked it the day before and they wrote it down. Again, no apology or care factor shown for their mistake. Other […] than that, it was OK but it spoils the experience when staff can't even pretend to be interested... Mehr
"Savoy- pretty location"
Hotel Savoy is a well-known hotel in the high-rent district of Rome. Felt like going home to a wealthy suburb away from all the crowded parts of the city. Great location, close to many restaurants, cafes and some shopping, but hotel could use a lot of updating--everything felt very old and tired. Staff was adequate but not warm or overly helpful. Maybe […] they were tired too. Mehr
"Hotel Savoy in Rome, Italy"
I stayed in this hotel for 3 days and found everything wonderful. The concierges were helpful, the breakfast buffet was very nice and the staff were great, good location close to the Spanish Steps and Metro. I strongly recommend this hotel!
"Savoy - Helpful Staff / Convenient Location"
The two items noted in the title are the biggest things going for the hotel. The desk staff speak great English and are very helpful. The location is convenient to many restaurants and is a quick walk to the Spanish Steps. The room, unfortunately, isn't very nice. The TV is tiny (if you plan on spending any time in the room), and the bed isn't all that […] comfy. The bathroom was nice though. Mehr

"Rome hotel in great location"
The beds are so hard and uncomfortable So we asked for extra pillows from the desk clerk. OMG the reaction was rude and confertational. Did not expect this from a hotel staff. The manager did bring 3 pillows which we shared and slept on. More comfortable than the HARD bed but made for a restless sleep.
"Savoy Hotel Rome"
Nice location and room but the breakfast could have been better. The scrambled eggs were runny and there was no fresh fruit or plain yogurt.
"savoy hotel"
great location, hop on and off bus a block away, but gets crowded in afternoon and takes a while to get back to your stop, but is a good way to see highlights in Rome. We bought Vatican museum tickets on- line before leaving home, went right around the lines to entrance and went in even though guides out front said the only way to pass the lines are […] with them. Not true. We rented audio self guided tour there and at the colesseum, can move thru crowds easier. Got colesseum tickets up in the capitol hill area to avoid long lines at colesseum, went right in, there was a separate line for ticketed visitors. Mehr
The prices charged in the "On Roof" eating/bar area were way over priced. Considering the room charge per night, I would think that free internet service in the room could be provided. During this trip, we also stayed in very small Tuscanny/Sienna area B & B's - - - which did provide us with free wi-fi services. Laura

"Hotel Savoy, Rome"
I have stayed at the Hotel Savoy in Florence, which is a 5 star hotel. Imagine my disapointment when I walked into my room. The room was very small, not very well or recently decorated, the bed was hard as a rock. The room was clean, I have to admit. Our neighbors across the hall were yelling down the hallway like one might yell at a sporting event, […] at midnignt on two different occasions. The very nice people at the front desk took care of the problem right away when I called to complain. Support staff was very helpful. The location is very central and the neighborhood is nice. The rooftop restaurant was lovely. I would reccommend the rooftop restaurant for dinner,or to enjoy a nice glass of wine with a good city view. Unfortunately, I would not reccommend sleeping here, unless you like VERY hard mattresses and don't care too much about decor. Mehr

"Nice place to stay in Rome"
Good neighborhood. Walking distance to Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. Metro is 1/4 mile. Most ristorantes on Via Veneto are upscale...we preferred the trattorias off the main drag (which can be found if you look and walk a little further). Rooms are clean and well kept. Bathroom had a full tub and shower - bigger than the Rome hotel we had 5 years […] ago. I'd stay here again no doubt! Mehr
"Savoy - disappointing"
The moment we entered our hotel room we felt the hotel was not going to be up to our expectations. The room furniture and decor was old and fittings were poorly maintained. The bathroom was poorly laid out so that we had difficulty sitting on the toilet! The bathroom also had loose taps, the shower head was poor quality and every time we had a shower, […] the water leaked all over the floor. The room had an interconnecting door to another guest room and we could clearly hear their conversations. The breakfast was a standard buffet included in the room price, but the quality was below average and we considered eating breakfast elsewhere. We don't have any positives about our stay. We definitely didn't get value for money and don't consider the hotel to be a 4 star. The hotel rooms need serious refurbishment. Mehr
"Savoy in Rome... a fair choice."
The hotel is beautifully located just off the via veneto and quite close to the Spanish steps. It takes appr. five minutes walk to reach the Barberini metro station. The outside of the hotel as well as the entrance were imposing and gave you a good feeling. Once we got settled in our room, we noticed that it needed some serious freshening up - wallpapers […] needed replacing and the room could use a couple of paintings on the walls. Other than that the room was spacious (we got a double plus room which apparently is a bit larger than the simple double room) and clean and the bathroom was fine. I'd give the room a 7/10. As an overall negative comment I should say that the concierge was almost constantly busy and not very talkative - one should rely on guidebooks rather than the Savoy reception. On a sunny day, the bar on the top floor is worth visiting - it offers a majestic view all the way to the basilica of St Peter (at night one can take some nice pictures as well). As for the breakfast, it was very satisfactory - not impressive but nothing was missing either. The coffee was great and I gather everyone shall find smth to eat which will please them. The breakfast room also needs some serious renovation... (murals etc.) Mehr

"Hotel Savoy"
Small rooms. Very dark. Moldy. Booking online gets you the back dark closet. Also, they will charge you 20EUR taxes when your walking out the door even though all fees are supposed to be included.
Excellent location, great staff service, beautiful room, rich breakfast

"Hotel Savoy, Rome, Italy"
Great location. Convenient to transportation and close to some must-see sites. Old World charm. Staff friendly, courteous, very professional. Great roof top restaurant, food and service five star quality. Breakfast buffet mediocre. Bed pillows European style (very hard). Would choose this hotel again.
"Savoy Hotel Rome"
This hotel is within easy walking distance of the Spanish Steps and is clean and well run.

"Good Hotel"
Nice hotel, well maintained, good location. Breakfast was better than some other hotels in Italy (which were generally disappointing). Internet is very expensive, 3x what you pay in USA.
"Hotel in Rome"
My wife and I spent 4 days in Rome as part of a 2 week European holiday. We were very satisfied with the quality of the hotel, the room, the very friendly staff, the breakfast, the location and would highly recommend the hotel for anyone travelling to Rome.

"Close to Spanish Steps, shopping and more"
The best amenities at Savoy were a great roof top bar and restaurant, great location, large rooms (I was surprised not to have a traditional tiny European room) and free breakfast...not just Continental, but a nice spread for free (again, not the typical European breakfast). I would definitely return and most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone […] traveling for pleasure! Mehr
"Savoy Hotel - right off Via Venetto"
Great old hotel with nice rooms and 2 minute walk to Via Venetto. We stayed here 10 years ago, and still found it a good place to stay in Rome except for the beds with mattresses that need to be replaced and upgraded.

"Rich part of town"
this hotel is located in the rich part of town and as such all the prices in surrounding shops, restaurants etc are also high. The Hotel itself was fine -clean etc, but for the value for money it was not what you'd expect.
"Savoy Hotel Rome"
hotel was in a really good location close to shops and restaurants and sights especially the spanish steps. staff were friendly and very helpful would definately stay there again. although the coffee on the terrace was rather pricey.room was comfortable and not very big but clean. would recommend.breakfast was really good lots of options and tasty
"NOT a 4 star hotel!"
The only positive thing about this hotel is the locaction. Front desk staff does not inspire confidence- one has half his teeth missing, another's jacket is dirty and wrinkled with a hole in the elbow. And they're rude! They gave us the worst room available with a comment about "what did you expect- you booked a standard room?" After we rejected 4 […] rooms, we finally got one that was acceptable. However, the beds were not at all comfortable and the bathroom towels were thin and threadbare. Two days in a row our room was not made up. There was not even an apology when we complained. Do not stay here unless you want a two star hotel at a four star price! Mehr
"The Savoy-not a 4 star"
The room was very small. There was no air conditioning as they said it was being serviced.!! When we opened the window the noise was deafening from a motirised unit at the bottom of the building. There was no in room tea or coffee!! The bathroom light would not switch off. The hotel receptionist gave us wrong information as to where to get the bus!! Overall- […] not recommended Mehr
"With reservation"
This hotel, while ok was just that, ok. The biggest disappointment was the staff. While adequate, they were not friendly or welcoming. Everything cost extra from the breakfast 15 euros! to use of the lobby computer. The staff seemed offended when we asked questions like where is a good restaurant..although the one they recommended was great. Rooms were […] small but we weren't in it much. The hotel was too expensive to settle for "adequate". Mehr
