Unser Zimmer war sauber und wurde ordentlich gereinigt. Der Service und die Freundlichkeit des Personals war insgesamt sehr gut. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral. Das Hotel selbst vermittelt einen klassischen Charme. Die Zimmergröße ist zwar nicht üppig aber ausreichend. Das einzige Manko ist die Naßzelle/Toilette. Sie ist doch etwas sehr beengt. […] Korpulentere Menschen würden bei der Benutzung Schwierigkeiten haben. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist bei diesem Hotel absolut in Ordnung. Mehr

Klein, familiär, tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Angenehme Raumtemperatur. Top-Lage, sowohl nahe an einem Bahnhof, nahe an der Fussgänerzone mit vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Cafés, Restaurants etc, Métro und Tram. Einfaches Frühstück mit ausgezeichnetem Brot!

Great location and super friendly staff, highly recommended.

The hotel was basically an old house. It was so cozy and comfortable. The one downside, was our bathroom was very small. It was clearly added on pretty recently. It reminded me of something you could order from an ikea catalog. It was all plastic and similar to an airplane bathroom, but with a shower. Other than that, the service was great, free WIFI, […] it was just blocks from the city center, and it was just a brisk walk from The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière and the medieval district. The star rating system in France confuses me. This hotel, for example, has all the amenities a traveler would want: a comfortable bed, a clean room with bathroom, free wifi and an affordable nightly rate. It's straightforward and in its own way, perfect. So why only 2 stars? It merits at least a third one.

Easy-to-reach for train travellers; clean and fairly quiet; surprisingly big room (maybe we were lucky). Couldn't ask for more from a 2 star hotel.

Yes, the rooms are small, but it is so precious and cute, you really won't mind.. The staff is fantastic- asked them so many questions and they knew everything- even where to get a cute french haircut! An ideal stop to the south of france, not too hard to find and park. Calm and restful, just lacks air conditioning.

I had a lovely four day stay here - the room although small was perfect for one person, the bathroom was very clean and surprisingly large and window let in plenty of light. Hotel du Simplon is a traditional french hotel which was recently refurbished. My wife & I found the room & bathroom clean but compact. The bright ground floor sitting room is the place to sit and read. Reception staff answered all questions in a friendly manner. Its location is superb being in the historic centre of Lyon and 3 minutes walk from the […] Parrache station. There is a grocery shop across the street and there are restaurants all around. Location: This hotel is very near Perrache Station on the south side of tourist Lyon. We were a young couple and were able to walk to all of the major sites from here. Long walk to the buchons of Lyon, but a number of brasseries and other restaurants in the area. Room: Room was small but standard European size. Bed was kinda lumpy, but fine. We had […] a corner room that looked out onto two fairly quiet streets and provided some nice people watching in the mornings. Bathroom was nice, but one drawback was that it wasn't a real shower, but a tub with a hand wand, also very European. Amenities: Free wifi. We didn't go for the breakfast as we loved the cafe atmosphere more. Other: Leave the key behind when leaving, and say room number when returning. No one asked for our names when we returned, although we saw familiar faces at the front desk. We decided to stay an extra night on our day of departure and secured nearly the same rate originally reserved here. Mehr

First of all, the staff was terrific! They were friendly, helpful, and speak some English if you need. The rooms are cozy, the beds are very compfy, and the shower has lovely hot water! I felt safe and could easily walk into Bellecour, to both rivers, and Vieux Lyon! Highly recommend: it's GREAT avlue, esp to be in the city. Only disappointment was […] the coffee. lol! The Hotel Du Simplon exceeded my expectations. The single room was by no means small, and the touches to the bed (patchwork quilt) and the other decor really made the room feel like a home away from home. The location was easy to find (once I was able to figure out how to get out of the train station!!!). Easy walking distance to the hop on/off bus […] and plenty of little stores around too. Hotel staff were friendly too. The only minor problem was that the wifi didn't work all the time and given it was a weekend it wasn't able to be fixed quickly. Definitely would stay here again! Mehr

A wonderful find! Excellent hotel - superb for the price. Slightly out of the centre but everything is easily accessible on foot or by public transport. The staff were all very helpful. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it all. 5mins' walk away from the main train station, and near the town centre, Place Bellecour. All the staff were very friendly and always wore ready smiles. There was a very cosy and homey atmosphere, with the main lounge furnished like your grandma's living room (complete with a piano!), and very clean. Extremely small rooms. Unaccomodating staff. No fans. Not very clean. Old dusty lobby. Rude owner. Not much cheaper than some of the better hotels in Lyon.

The hotel was simple but very nice in a good location close to the tram and metro station (about 2 min walk) and close to the old town. The room was quiet and clean and the hotel staff was friendly. Overall, a great hotel for the price!

Downstairs the hotel is fine - very friendly and helpful staff, decent lounge and breakfast room. Upstairs not so good - chipped paintwork, small rooms spartanly furnished but reasonably clean. Our room had no stand-up shower, but our friends' did. Main drawbacks are the heat and noise. At around 30 degs in late June the lack or air-con made sleep difficult; […] throw open the windows and the noise of the late-night revelers and the very early morning traffic has the same effect. But you get what you pay for. Booking early via this site made it really cheap and the simple breakfast was the same. Nice area and nice staff, so overall ok. Mehr

Clean, good location, nice people

The hotel was booked for a weekend away - looking at location and price. It was it a good location for Perrache Station (which you can get a bus from the airport to) and a short walk to the city centre. However, the hotel was old and the rooms very tired, untrendy and uninspiring. It was okay - met requirements, but wouldn't stay there again.

Pretty room, friendly staff. Very close to metro/train/tram and within easy walking distance of old Lyon.

A very nice hotel near Lyon Perrache station. There are many cafes within walking distance, and the staff are friendly. I enjoyed the stay. 1 breakfast was 6 euros per person.

Clean room, friendly staff, did the job well for a short stay. Luggage storage is even available.

this hotel is only two minutes away from Perache station that is to say in the city centre. It is not a luxurious hotel but the room was clean and the bed confortable. It is surrounded by antique shops and cafe and is of a walking distance from the river where we had lunch on a boat. I will be please to go back there whenever I return to Lyon.

Bon rapport qualité/prix, situé au coeur de Lyon entre Perrache et Bellecour. Petit-déjeûner copieux; personnel très agréable et disponible. La chambre n'était pas très grande mais suffisante pour un court séjour.

Accueil excellent, chambre tout à fait correcte pour le prix, proximité à pied du centre. Comptez 12 euros pour le parking privé (box fermé).

hotel authentique et chaleureux

Excellent rapport qualité-prix ( Literie irréprochable et supérieure à bon nombre d'hôtels) Un accueil très sympathique et une réelle volonté de rendre service. De très bons restaurants à proximité...( Ponts et Passerelles; Chez Thomas ; Abel Café Comptoir)

Je ne me suis jamais sentie aussi bien dans un hotel. J'avais l'impression d'être "chez" quelqu'un. Accueillie, confortable et avec mille détails dans la déco qui humanisent un lieu à priori très impersonnel.

Hotel 2 étoiles surprenant par, son rapport qualité /prix, son entretien, sa propreté, la gentillesse de tout le personnel, le petit déjeuner très bien servi. Nous le recommandons vivement, la proximité de la gare Perrache lui apportant un avantage supplémentaire.

Nos vacances de mariage de reve!

Llegamos al hotel el lunes a las 9 de la noche y salimos el viernes. Es un hotel pequeño, limpio, bien situado y en el que los empleados son muy amables. No tiene grandes lujos y a veces falla el telefono y te quedas dormido por la mañana pero por lo demas es un hotel recomendable.

petit probléme avec Internet

c'est un hôtel assez proche de tout, il y a une grande rue commerciale, et la gare de pérache, un tram direct pour la part dieu. ma chambre était un peu petite mais fonctionnelle, étant étudiant, mon foyer était fermé car c'était encore les vacances. c'est le niveau au dessus de la chambre d'étudiants. seul point négatif, c'est qu'ils ne servent pas […] le midi et le soir, seul le petit déjeuner est assuré. comme c'était le 1er janvier, c'était assez dur de trouver un restaurant ouvert. L'hotel è situato vicino alla stazione di Perrache (quindi anche alla metropolitana!) ed è comodo anche per gli spostamenti a piedi se vi piace fare due passi! La camera che ci hanno assegnato era piccolina, ma vivibile e con il letto matrimoniale di grandezza standard (non alla francese per intenderci); l'unico problema è stato il bagno minuscolo (sembrava […] quello di un camper!). Abbiamo speso pochissimo utilizzando una promozione di Hotels.com e non abbiamo scelto la colazione in albergo visto che a Lione è pienissimo di bar e pasticcerie piene di leccornie e che costano anche meno! Non avendo prenotato il parcheggio dell'albergo, abbiamo lasciato la machina in quello della stazione che è un pò più caro (sui 15 euro al giorno). Nel complesso l'Hotel du Simplon è pulito e confortevole e il personale gentile e disponibile. Una piccola considerazione: evitate di mangiare nei bar della stazione perchè abbiamo visto un topolino che banchettava allegramente con le baguettes esposte nella vetrina di n bar! Mehr
