Maui Beach Hotel - Kahului

Mittelklassehotel. Saubere Zimmer und gute zentrale Lage...allerdings jedoch keine schöne Lage, da direkt im Hafenbecken. Den Hotelstrand wollten wir daher nicht nutzen. Achtung: Scheint am Wochenende gerne von Jugendlichen als Party-Hotel genutzt zu werden...

Entgegen allen anderen Menschen, welche wir auf den Inseln begegnet sind, wurden wir im Maui Beach Hotel nicht herzlich empfangen und dementsprechend nicht zufriedenstellend bedient. Auch bei der Abreise war das Interesse nicht gross ob es uns gefallen hätte. Wahrscheinlich lag es an dem, dass das Hotel ausgebucht war...

o.k für eine Nacht ( Businesshotel ohne Komfort)

We had a nice stay at the Maui Beach Hotel. The room was clean, and standard. It gets a little too hot on the secondary floor. The AC was noisy. Other than that, everything was great. The staff were nice and helpful. We asked for more towels, and they sent happily provided. They also have beach towels to borrow.

We had a nicelyt decorated large room. A real plus was having windows that actually opened so that we could have fresh air without rumbling air conditioning, although there was AC for those who like it. We had a view over the ocean (harbour) and pleasant garden, so there was no road noise either. The hotel seemed to be further from the airport than […] expected - more like 3 miles than one mile, but they have a shuttle bus to the airport, so that was not problem. There was no restaurant for dinner so we had to walk about half a mile to the nearest mall to find dinner. The bath towels were small and rather thin, and there was no bath mat. The people who greeted guests were very nice and friendly. Also, the warm breakfast was pretty good, but it is over priced($9.95) if you just purchase individually rather than paying with hotel stay. The facilities are very old and the shower was very tight and small. The surrounding of the hotel was very nice. Nice ocean is behind the hotel. It is […] very close to the airport. I think it is OK to stay for one night with kids, but it is not very comfortable to stay for longer. Mehr

As a last minute planner this vacation was no different and when it came time to book flights flying home on a Sunday instead of Saturday was considerable cheaper. My vacation rental was only available for 7 night so I was looking for a cheap hotel close to the airport. This one fit the bill, it was clean and convenient and that's all I needed. This […] is not a place I would book to stay for longer than an overnight stay. It was older, the air conditioner was really loud and the room was very basic. It's located right on the Kahalui harbour but it's not really a place to hang out at the beach. Mehr

It was disappointing to find their restaurant and bar was only open on weekends. Otherwise, no complaints. Hotel very convenient to the mall and sits on the bay. All in all, a comfortable convenient motel.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Those are the only positive things I can say. The window looked out on a set of metal stairs and was steamed up. It was like sleeping in a basement. I had a bag stolen from the parking lot and the staff were disinsterested and very unfriendly. They could have cared less. The hotel was awful. The restaurant is only open on the weekends. My window leaked and I had to walk around in soggy carpet for three days. The staff was not very accomodating and the hotel did not honor any of my room preferences.

this was just right for just a place to stay to be near the airport, no frills just a good basic hotel. However, , the breakfast buffet was wonderful and very pleasant staff and comfortable beds

Good value for the money, best breakfast on the island so far for the money. Location is perfect for mutiple day trips. Room was large and comfy. Id stay here again in a heartbeat.

Staff was helpful and pleasant, but restaurant only open on weekends and pool sometimes. Room was very small, but served well. Would not recommend for more than a night, but a good stop-over choice.

We booked this hotel for one night on our way out of Maui. CONS: We knew it was not a resort, but would have appreciated a bit more help at the front desk. Even though there were 2 people there, the service was super slow and not very efficient. Had to wait at least 10 minutes for a bellman to show up at the bell desk and there were only 2 other people […] in the lobby. We purchased the breakfast option offered with the reservation on hotels.com and assumed it would include the registered child we had staying in our room with us. When we got to check in, they told us breakfast was only for 2 people. Frustrating. We ended up getting the breakfast for free for our daughter (who is 7), but only after a lot of discussion about the fact that this was not disclosed to us when we bought the option. PROS: The breakfast buffet was good with lots of options. (eggs, bacon, sausage, belgian waffles, juices, fruit, coffee, cereal) There were some strange choices like green salad and white rice, but that must be popular in Hawaii. We called and asked for an extra sheet and pillow and it was practically instantly delivered. We also saved a bunch of money by returning our rental van a day early and using the complimentary airport shuttle and complimentary area shuttle to run our last minute errands before heading to the airport. The hotel is within walking distance from a pretty large mall that has a McDonalds and a Panda Express, but the city atmosphere near the hotel is not lush or amazing like the rest of the island. The grounds of the hotel are nicely kept and there was a pretty view of the water from our window. All in all, there were more pros than cons. Not bad for the money and a night or two, but I wouldn't want to have spent my entire vacation here. Mehr

the girls at the front desk were too busy on their cell hones with personal calls; were not helpful with restaurants..just said "several within walking distance". Failed to mention they were in the mall; we walked and found nothing; ended up buying hoagies at the grocery store. Continental breakfast makes you pay $1.50 if wanting to take coffee to go.. […] absurd..but host in cafe was very helpful with surf shop information and surf report Mehr

The maui Beach is perfect for the business traveller that has to be centeralized. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Amenities few.

Overall the hotel was convenient but service was poor. The breakfast and restaurant service was not worth it.

rooms were large and very clean. Daily breakfast smorg was good as was weekend buffet. free airport shuttle was nice.

Before getting there I told my companion that I've never been there and a couple co-workers have told me not so desirable things about the hotel from their past experience, which was quite far in the past, anyway, so I told him not to be too disappointed. When getting to the lobby I was ok this is not bad. Then, the room...it was quaint a little small, […] but very clean and cozy. Way more than I had expected! I would most definitely come here again and i highly reccommend it. I even told my co-workers it is not at all what they thought of it. That they in fact must go and see the improvements they've made since their trip. The room is affordable, location is centralized to the whole island and the service was very good! We were over by an hour because we lost track of time hiking, but the front desk woman was very understanding and gave us time to gather our things without charging us a late checkout fee. It was our first trip to Maui so this hotel was perfect. The internet price included an adequate breakfast (big save on $ and time) . The location was perfect for travel in every direction. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The bed was new and really comfy. The cleanliness was very good.

We found the room to be a little spartan and the beds were not comfortable but the view into the bay was very pretty, the staff were so friendly and the whole hotel has a kind of Hemmingway feel about it, early forties. It is well maintained, clean and the free breakfast was excellent!

I enjoyed staying in this hotel. There were couple of things that embarrassed me a bit such as early room service even before I leave after breakfast, REALLY windy restaurant when I had breakfast though they have wind shields, and bell boy being quite busy if you have anything to do with but front-desk personnel can always help with it. Yet hotel staffs […] are kind and location is really close to the Kahului airport and couple shopping sites. By the way, the hotel breakfast is 9.90 per person including tax. Mehr

Stayed at this hotel several times, however my last stay was not favorable. Purchase my room over hotels.com. The front desk couldn't find my purchase. Took over twenty minutes to find my purchase. They then put us in a room that was suppose to be non-smoking however the room smell with cigar smoke. The bed in the room sunk in the middle. The room was […] not clean behind the TV. I used my points from previous stays to buy the room. I was very disappointed with my stay. It appeared that I was put in a room that is used for contract workers. Mehr

The hotel is only two minutes from the airport. Comparable with other price per night rates in Maui, this hotel met our needs. While the hotel is a little dated, we found it safe and well kept. To get around in Maui, you will find it necessary to rent a car. Overall, the Maui Beach Hotel was a decent experience. Decent place to stay for the price for a week.

Very reasonable, fairly comfortable. Showers on the small side and ac didn't fully cool the room, but otherwise a good deal

We booked this hotel online because of the image shown on the website. It was completely deceiving. We flew into Maui at night and were exhausted and all we wanted to do was get to our hotel room to sleep before we tackled the next day. I walked into the hotel room with my children and they were scared to stay. The hotel room was old, stale and filthy. […] My children took their suitcases and waited outside the room for their dad as he was still paying. I surveyed the room to see if it was really that bad... could we stay the night. There was food on the floor under the table from the previous tenants, the toilet had pee all over it and there were bugs around the bathroom. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone who cares for a standard of cleanliness and comfort. The age of the hotel could have been easily overlooked had they taken the time and effort to clean the place up and make it feel a LOT more welcoming than what it was. We will never stay there when we return to Maui and will be sure everyone we knows just how bad it is. Mehr

This hotel was clean but the room 146 was small and showed signs of much wear. The carpet was torn in more than one place. The room fronted a busy road in Lihue. The breakfast buffet was not worth the asking price of $9.50. We cancelled a future 4 night reservation and will be staying elsewhere. If you're looking for cheap then this is the place to […] go. Chose to stay close in to Kahului for our first night since we had to pick up our friends the next morning at the airport. Maui Beach Hotel was close, easy to find. And a decent price. Nothing fancy but good enough. Check in was easy, free parking, Room was ready, very clean, price included a breakfast in the morning which was a bonus. Pool hours are […] very short. Pool very cold. Our room was on the street side and there was quite a bit of road noise. Good thing we were exhausted!! Beds are doubles....not queens. since we were awake early anyways the next morning, we were able to walk over to the swap meet held close by...it was a Saturday morning. That was a great treat. We found fruit to buy for the week, some great souvenirs at a better price than at the expensive malls and visited with some of the local people. Loved that. Overall, it was a nice way to start our week. Would stay there again just for a first or last night before you go over to the west side and the beach resorts. Mehr

Stayed for one night. The hotel is not close to anything in terms of walking someplace. Checked in and had a weird smell in the room so they gave me another room with no questions asked. Hallway carpets had huge wrinkles which aren't safe, especially for older people. The TV was a small old school 17" screen. the service is wonderful, very friendly staff, close to everything, even have airport pick up service. Price is good. Good Shuttle service. and clean

I chose this hotel because of it's free airport shuttle service. I also gave them my flight info, so I was sure to have a ride. I called at 9:01pm and was told the shuttle ended at 9pm! Took a cab, and checked into the most filthy room. The walls had dirt on them. Every ceiling corner had spider webs, the bedspreads were stained and the tub/shower had […] hair in it. It was an overnite stay on the way to another resort in Maui. Clean and convenient for this purpose. Close to the airport, restaurants and shopping.

The Maui Beach Hotel is a good spot if you need something inexpensive, close to the airport and convenient to shopping. We spent a week there and although the room was small and a little old fashioned the entire hotel was clean. There was ample free parking and a nice small pool on site. My only critique would be the breakfast buffet, take a pass and […] eat out, the food was limited and cold and the resturant staff unfriendly. In contrast the hotel staff was great. They say it's where the locals stay. It a quick stay after a concert at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and suited our needs for the night. You get what you pay for. The only weird thing about the room was that the bathroom was handicap accessible and did not have a door on it. Not a problem if you don't have privacy issues.

ok the wailuku hall smells of ciggie smoke in the hall at night, even though the rooms are non smoking. Are there guests cheating or are the smoking rooms below. Other than that it is a favored kamaaina hotel and the staff is attentive.

Centrally located in the heart of Kahalui. 7 minutes from airport (including traffic lights). Largest mall on the island right across the street. Breakfast and dinner buffets. Lots of free parking with security guards ever present, especially at night. Between the airport and the Maui Beach hotel you'll find; Costco, Krispy Kreme, The Kitchen, K-Mart, […] 3 gas stations, 2 shopping mall's (both with movie theaters), several eateries (too many to list). Definitely not the cleanest hotel, but for the price of a Maui hotel, you can't beat it. I've stayed in much worse for the price. If you need a hotel for just a place to sleep, this is your best bet. When I went to check in I had to wait as a couple of the desk staff were talking with each other. Wasn't acknowledged until they finished, which I don't think is the best service. The lounge is only open on Fridays and Saturdays I was told, not every night. At least it was not on the Sunday night when I was there. The wifi could be connected to in […] the rooms, not even in the lobby. The signal was very, very weak, so don't plan on using that. Unless you have a network jack on your device you'll need to use your own provider. There was a pair of dirty socks in the corner of my room that made me question the amount of cleaning done. At least the cups were wrapped. The location isn't bad from the airport and the courtyard is nice. It's a little noisy being right off the Highway. But the view isn't too bad. I'm not sure I'd recommend this hotel again, except for the price and the location. If you're not looking for much, it was decent to stay in. Mehr
