Das Metro-Hotel liegt räumlich günstig in Central-Manhattan, zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind keine großen Strecken zurückzulegen, zum Times-Square und zum Empire State-Building nur wenige Meter zu Fuß, eine U-Bahnhaltestelle liegt in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Das Hotel ist sauber u. ordentlich. Die Zimmergröße ist beschränkt, das Badezimmer […] sehr klein. Das Frühstück ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Wer auf Plastikbesteck steht u. gerne von Papptellern ißt, ist hier richtig. Alles streng vegetarisch. Der Zimmerpreis ist für New Yorker-Verhältnisse günstig. Fazit: Ein Hotel in zentraler Lage, zum Schlafen u. Duschen ok, für Hotelaktivitäten ungeeignet und zu klein. Frühstücksfans sollten auf die Coffeeshops in der Umgebung zurückgreifen. Mehr

Das Hotel Metro kann man nur weiter empfehlen. Die Lage ist perfekt, der Service sehr gut, einfach genial. Schade nur das Plastikbesteck und Plastikteller am Frühstücksbuffet.

Das Metro ist ein einfaches, sehr sauberes Hotel und für einen New York Tripp eine absolute Empfehlung. Das Frühstück, wenn auch mit Plastikgeschirr, ist für amerikanische Verhältnisse hervorragend. Herausragend ist die tolle Penthouse-Bar, mit Logenblick auf das Empire. Eine Subway ist in unmittelbarer Nähe und z.B. der Time Square ist in wenigen Minuten […] zu Fuß erreicht. Man ist sofort mitten drin im prallen Leben. Wir waren sehr begeistert und empfehlen das Metro gerne weiter. Mehr

sehr gutes Stadthotel, zentrale Lage, empfehlenswert

Sehr gutes Mittelklassehotel in bester Lage Manhattans. Besonders positiv fallen das kostenlose Frühstück, der kostenlose Business Room mit Drucker etc. und das überall verfügbare kostenlose WLAN auf. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und gibt sich wirklich Mühe. Negativ ist, dass die kleinen Zimmer nur mit einer lauten Klimaanlage beheizt werden. […] Es gibt nur zwei Möglichkeiten: entweder man akzeptiert den Krach oder man friert. Zudem ist es nachts sehr laut und es funktionieren nur wenige der TV Programme. Die Betten werden täglich neu bezogen. Dazu ziehen die Putzfrauen mittags das Bett ab und beziehen es nachmittag neu. Wer sich also mittags im Hotel ausruhen möchte, muss damit rechnen, dass die Betten nicht bezogen sind. Dies alles stört allerdings nur, wenn man viel Zeit im Hotel verbringt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut und die Lage, direkt bei Macy's und dem Empire State Building ist perfekt. Durch direkte Bahn- (NJTransit / PATH) und U-Bahnanbindung (gelb / orange) ist es gut und günstig zu erreichen. Bei schlechtem Wetter kann man für $1.75 mit der PATH in die Newport Shopping Mall fahren. Dort gibt es viele Geschäfte (u.a. auch Hollister und American Eagle) und es ist definitiv weniger besucht als die Geschäfte in Manhattan. Von dort hat man zudem auch eine tolle sich auf die Skyline New Yorks. Mehr

Einige Zimmer nach hinten hinaus sind sehr lärmig, die Lüftung der Küche stört die Nachtruhe.

Das Hotel hat eine ausgezeichntet Lage- zu Fuss gelangt man via Broadway in 5 Gehminuten an den Times Square und zum Empire State Building sind es max. 2 Gehminuten. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, das Zimmer sauber. Es sollte einfach darauf bestanden werden, ein Zimmer in den Hinterhof zu bekommen. Wir hatten das Zimmer leider im 1. Stock auf die Strasse […] raus. Es war hell und sehr laut!!! Ansonsten war aber alles ok!! Mehr

Even with New York standards-this hotel has tiny Rooms. Good hotel for a single person- needing basic hotel necessities- no splurging here. Location is very good, lots of shopping/dining nearby. Comp WIfi

I would stay here again. Not 5 star quality, but comfortable. Nice hang out area down stairs, nice gym. Great comfortable bed and bedding! A big plus. It was better than some 4 stars where i've stayed. GREAT staff. I asked to change to a room away from the street, I had to stay one night in the original room, in the morning I had to rush to a meeting. […] They moved my packed suitcases for me to my new room. Very nice of them. Great service. I interacted with 2 great and savvy gentlemen at the front desk. Hotel is a nice themed hotel, whimsical art deco/40s movie glam era feel. I thought the interior room was nicer than the room with a window to the street. Mehr

I checked in around 2pm and there was no water to the hotel until 5 or 6pm but was murky brown until 8pm. Couldn't use bathroom for 6-7 hours! Had room service around 3pm and tray not picked up until the next morning. Room was very nice, could have been cleaner. People were very friendly but service was weak.

Have stayed in NYC many, many times but the Hotel Metro stay made for a GREAT trip this time! It was really nice to get breakfast included. The location of the hotel is excellent...The only draw back is that the rooms are small. Will definitely be staying there again!

I was extremely impressed with this hotel. Having lived in Manhattan for 25 years I know a thing tor two about hotels (even had my office in the Waldorf for several years). The Hotel Metro was an extremely pleasant surprise. The service was top notch and curteous. The accomodations were excellent. The room was clean and very comfortable.especially the […] bed. The walls were well insulated so you didn't hear the street of the outside hall traffic. I would give this hotel 5 Stars! Mehr

i have been staying here for the past decade or so on many of my trips to NYC. The rooms are clean, bed are comfy--the neighborhood is great, away from the hubub of Times Square but with a subway station on the block. I think they have improved the overhead lighting--which had been a tad bleak. A real winner for the price in my book!

The staff was courteous and helpful, the room was clean and comfy, as was the bathroom. Very good location, right by Fashion Ave and the theater district. There was a parking lot on the same block. I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Hotel Metro very much!

We had a very nice stay at the Hotel Metro. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, albeit not terribly scenic. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and the food good. It was an excellent value, as well. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to others.

This hotel shows great ratings but my exsperience was pretty bad. The room was old and faced a trash area, the elevator made noise all night long, the storage space was very limited to just your suitcase. Breakfast was played up a lot more than it was. Europeans would appreciate this hotel but not Americans.

I had booked a double room but checked in late after landing in NY at 1:30 in the morning. My room was prepaid but they gave me the worst room in the hotelI am sure. large room but two twin beds. Couldn't sleep very well in the twin so no real sleep for an important meeting in the morning.

Bed was lumpy and like sleeping on rocks. Safe did not work, wireless did not work, and staff not motivated to help you. Great location but I wouldn;t stay there again.

Friendly reception staff. Great breakfast and all day tea and coffee. Rooms good, linen changed frequently with daily fresh towels. Roof top terrace a bonus. Use of computers,check in on line, print off bording passess etc. Would stay again.

I considered Hotel Metro for my recent NYC visit largely because the rooms were comfortably sized (relative to other single rooms in Manhattan) and the location was extremely convenient, but what sold me was the free in-room wireless internet, continental breakfast, and around the clock tea/coffee. The hotel was not super fancy, but I liked that because […] it gave me the comfort of being home, not at a hotel. I liked the rooftop patio, gym, and wonderful front desk staff. I loved the convenience to 5th avenue, the shopping, the subway and busy street corners to quickly grab cabs. My only drawbacks were: The shower's water pressure reduced somewhat when on hot hot water (all the way) but most people probably don't take showers at hot as I like them! It's an older but renovated building, so this wasn't a surprise, and it wasn't that bad, just a little annoying as a hot steamy shower is such a luxury! Additionally, there was some construction on the street, and I was on the 3rd floor. I don't remember if the windows were double pane or not, but I could hear every cab, crazy person yelling, and early AM constructions -- which at least got me up for work in time! By night two I was more acclimated and it didn't bother me but night 1 was definitely a "welcome to the big city" one! The last annoyance was that the security boxes in the rooms are different than standard ones we're used to at most hotels, and not very intuitive on how to use. A simple instruction card in the room would've saved me from having to have the maintenance guy come to the room to teach me how to use it! Overall, I thought Hotel Metro was a great value and location with great staff and breakfast and wifi, and I would definitely stay there again. Mehr

The windows do not block the noise of the ventilation at all. First I thought a window was opened. It's really annoying to have that noise in the background. Also the lights are noisy, I tried to keep the lights off most of the time. For the price of a night, some improvement could be done on this. I would definitely stay there again. But I would ask if I could have a larger room...The room was TINY! But it is New York :) I did like the delicious breakfast and the fact there was always coffee or tea... Nice staff too

Hotel Metro is in an outstanding location, walking distance from Penn Station. They've got a rooftop patio with a lovely view of the Empire Stste building. It is walking distance from a number of interesting attractions. They've also got free breakfast. The only downfall is the rooms are small, but that is to be expected for NYC.

Great location, the room was very nice and very spacious for New York.

This is our third stay at the Hotel Metro, and we've been very pleased each time. Rooms are not tiny as in other NYC hotels; the rooms are always clean; the complimentary breakfast was pretty good, and the 24 hour coffee/tea service was a plus. Furthermore, the rates were competitive. We would certainly come back the Hotel Metro again.

for a short stay. We were in town on a busy weekend. The Fifth Avenue location was conveniently in walking distance to our planned activities all within a 15 block area. The only negative was that the concierge must have been having a bad day... not to worry- the bell hop stepped up to assist us in getting the info we needed! Thank you.

My room at the Hotel Metro was a bit small, but since I don't spend much time in a room, it was just fine. The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The television reception was far superior to that in an Upper East Side hotel where I stayed the previous night. The staff at the Hotel Metro were very friendly and helpful and the continental […] breakfast offered a wide variety and was nicely presented. The hotel is also conveniently located near Penn Station and a subway station is right on the corner of the block. Mehr

I can't say enough nice things about his hotel. Friendly staff, thoughtful service, great concierge, nice decor, clean rooms, wonderful locale, fair price. It will be top on my list of places to try and stay at on my next trip back to New York.

I really want to like this hotel. It is in a central location, has free internet, breakfast and 24 hour coffee (a must if you are jet lagged), and most of the staff are lovely - but it keeps giving me reasons to be annoyed. This trip it was when they charged me $10 to store my luggage for 2 days, even though I was coming back for a one week stay (and […] then took 10 minutes to find the receipt book to give me a receipt), and then last night because the system was down they could not do room charges, but wanted me to give the delivery person my credit card that he/she would take downstairs and charge for me. I then had to explain the risks associated with this and why I was not comfortable giving a complete stranger my credit card to take out of my site for 15 or so minutes. In my room now the TV is not working properly and the toilet seat is broken. But on the upside I do have my morning coffee and newspaper. So its such a shame, this hotel has so much potential but it constantly lets me down with service and facilities. Mehr

The first night of my stay was fair. Small room. Clean. Or so I thought. Second night, came to realize my room had bed bugs. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but I still had to go through the trouble of sending all my clothes to the cleaners, buying new clothes and a new suitcase. The manager offered to comp and upgrade me, but we settled on […] reimbursement for the aforementioned expenses. If it weren't for the bed bugs, I would have recommended the hotel. However, in spite of the friendly and sympathetic staff, it was hardly worth the trouble. Try staying somewhere else without a bed bug reputation. Mehr

The wonderful staff is the reason I will definately stay here again. The hotel is great too, the only thing I would have liked is for the bathroom to be a little more updated, but it was fine. The breakfast is the greatest feature also. Again, wonderful, helpful staff!

Great location, atmosphere, very clean, comfortable, great price, would definately reccomend and stay again
