I found that it was very expensive and the resort was not very nice compared to other resorts in Tahoe. I have stayed in other resorts that were less expensive and more nice inside.
"Hotel overrated and overpriced"
We found the one bedroom condo to be extremely small and cramped for a family of four. The room faced the inner courtyard and so we got a lot of noise very late into the evening, including kids partying.

"The Village"
The Village at Squaw was a great place to stay. I was hoping for more snow but otherwise we had a ton of fun! The sauna wasn't working in our building but a few minutes walk to another building wasn't too bad because of the underground parking, it made the short walk warm and easy to do. Great restaurants to eat at in the village. There was a small […] market that carried a pretty good variety of food, snacks and drinks. We will definitely stay at the village again and hope for more snow. Mehr

"Could be nice with nice staff"
Staff was not there!! Bed were uncomfortable.
"The Village at Squaw Valley"
The Village at Squaw Valley- was the right choice. The mountains for hiking and mountain biking were right out the back door. For the less extreme a bike trail led to other local towns. Golf, and horse back riding were all avail. The room was modern and my only reget was not inviting a few more friends. My room was the one bedroom plus study which included […] a full kitchen and one and half baths. It could have slept 6 people comfortable. I had a great time and would visit again Mehr
"woodsy get away? no."
Room was clean and spacious, nice kitchen area. Repairs needed were numerous. Toaster would'nt stay down, window latch broken, tube stopper out of tube bathroom sink stopper did'nt work... No air conditioning, which would be an issue in mid summer, not absolutly nessessary in september. We had a room with mountain view, which also overlooks the parking […] lot...During ski season this would be an exceptable place to sleep, but for a summer get away we will search for something more secluded. Mehr
"Beautiful place, terrible beds"
All was worth it until we slept in our beds, which felt like sleeping on box springs.
"Nice hotel with amazing surroundings"
We just spent 4 days at the Village during a road trip through California. The original plan was to spend two days, but there is simply so much to see and do around Lake Tahoe. The rooms are clean, nice and spacious and has a small kitchen. And there is a coin laundry in the hotel, which is very convenient when you are driving for three weeks. The village […] is very cozy, and a good starting point for exploring the north and west shore of Lake Tahoe. We'll be back during wintertime. Mehr
"No Air"
We went during the summers little hot streak.... And the room itself had no air conditioning... We traveled in a large group, the room was a nice little apartment.. But with all of us in there we really needed air! They have a media room! Pretty cool! I would stay again! All the shops were closed:( and the jacuzzis too......
"An amazing experience"
The Village has got to be a hidden gem in Lake Tahoe. Not really knowing what to expect was one thing, but being blowen away on how the village hotel treated me was something else. This is my favorite second home for sure, flat out, no question about it. The small town inside the village also was a pleasant suprise. Thank you so much for a great ex […] perience. Mehr
"Great Hotel"
Hotel/Condominium located at the bottom of Squaw Valley. Plenty of eating places, shops and things to do at the Village, including a fantastic pool at the top of the mountain. Ten minutes from Tahoe City for additional shopping and boating activities.

"Not a lot to do"
We took 4 teenagers , and thought there would be a lot to do, there really isn't, no pool , unless you pay over $40 a person to go up the cable car to the top, there are shops and restaurants, but nothing else for the kids to do, had to drive to the lake, rooms were ok, house keeping didn't even come one day, we will not go back
"The Village at Squaw--Family Fun times!"
I took my 6yr old son to The Village at Squaw for a 2 night vacation. We loved it! There is so much to do, we never got in our car. The Hotel and Village staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Highcamp, the mini-golf, rockwall and trampoline jumping. There was even a free movie night outdoors! Go and have fun with your family and relax! […] We had a Studio Room, and it was very spacious! Mehr
"Perfect little condo"
Perfect little spot. Kitchen. Great. Expensive. Only complaint was loud other tenants. During summer, noise travels through open windows.
"Cute place but the worst night's sleep EVER"
The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. BUT. It faced the Village which was loud all night long (at least it felt like it) and again in the morning. The windows were shockingly thin. We could hear people so clearly it was as if the windows weren't even closed. Too bad because the room itself was very nice and the price not bad.
"Village at Squaw Valley"
TV recepetion poor, remote didn't work. No AC in room, only heating available. Summers are hot in the Lake Tahoe area.
"Squaw Village resort"
This was a good location. Wish they had some kind of Room Service otherwise very nice accomadations.

"Village at Squaw not ideal post ski season"
The hotel is in a great location, however most of the restaurants were closed, limiting our choices to a very few. Pizza was great, but we ate it two days in a row because there were few other options. The room has some nice amenities, but the internet wasn't working, the shower head fell off in our hands, and the maid staff didn't do a very through […] job-there was a dirty plate in our drawer , a hair on the pull out sofa and there was something toxic in our room that made my eyes burning red. In fairness, that could have been wool carpets which I am allergic to, but that info wasn't available when booking the room. Hotels.com stated that there were 2 rooms available and I booked quickly, however the resort was deserted. The people that were working were friendly enough, but it was the calm after the rush, and there were limited resources, for the opening of summer. This place must thrive in the winter and peak summer times, but not so fantastic during the less busy season. Mehr
"Home away from home"
Seeing the mixed reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. We had issues driving to Tahoe since they closed 80E for a few hours. We were able to change our reservation over the phone with hotels.com really easily. Check in went smoothly. We stayed in building 4, which is right in the middle. The 1 bedroom suite was great. Decent sized kitchen with dishwasher, […] fridge, oven/stove, microwave, plates, glasses, utensils, pans, pots. Everything you would need at home! Small dining area that can seat 4. The couch was decent and the gas fireplace provided enough heat for the room. The TV and DVD player were somewhat of an issue. The cable between the 2 didn't work and it took sometime for the maintenance people to figure why the DVD player didn't work. The TV is somewhat old and small, but good enough. The bathroom was roomy- shower over tub and heated floors. Bedroom was decent with king sized bed, which was slightly too firm. The outdoor hot tub and indoor sauna were nice. We didn't get a chance to use the fitness facilities. If you;'re there to ski, it's a very convenient ~ 1minute walk to where you get tickets. Parking downstairs is relatively easy. Tahoe City is about a 6-7 minute drive away with plenty of restaurants. Mehr

"The Village at Squaw Valley - really liked it!"
We rented a 2-BR condo at the Villages and really liked the experience for the price we paid. It was very close to all the attractions, in a safe place for families, and was very spacious. Overall, really liked our experience there!
"Great hotel, if you don't mind..."
The hotel is more like a well kept timeshare. We got the 2-bed room suite overlooking the parking lot. The rooms are kept clean and very good amenities. The pluses were underground heated parking. The parking is a bit tight, but you can easily fit a family size SUV. There was a kids room, a media room, and storage locker in the building. There are a […] few restaurants and shops in the village, but most of the shops were closed. We were lucky because it snowed 6 inches, which is almost unheard of in late May. The bad part about it is the snow plow machine came at 4:00 AM and it woke the family up. That was a major drag since we were only staying for one night. The thing I didn't understand was it took them about an hour to plow through the parking lot, so they could have done it at 7AM since the lifts opens at 9AM. Overall, it was a good, but being woken up at 4AM was not acceptable. For that I will only give 3 stars. Mehr
"The Village at the Squaw"
Spring Skiing meant lots of discounts. Booked through hotels.com for 2 nights, 1/3 off usual price which is a bargain for a ski holiday! (Cheaper ski lift prices too, and some promotions. And you can reserve your ski rentals online from Inn Shop for cheapest rental prices in the resort.) Stayed in a spacious studio - south facing, which was quiet and […] convenient. Window faced one of the ski slopes. Walking out of the building -- straight into the middle of the village with restaurants and amenities. This meant I could conveniently get food, after checking in late at night. And it wasn't too far to walk to either end of the village. Free basement parking was provided (and a 15-min parking area in front of check-in building), had no problems with parking my long car. Free ski lockers, free internet in room with cable provided, free printing, free safebox, free cable tv, free wifi internet on 1st floor. Fully equipped kitchenette. Large toilet but basic toiletries. Two jacuzzi pools with mini-gym. No complaints about cleanliness, and had a good night's sleep. Very friendly staff at reception. Was also allowed to access ski lockers and carpark after checking out, which meant I could leave my car there until I finished skiing that day. In terms of food from the resort, decent pizzas from Fireside Pizza and loved my Breakie (breakfast sandwich) from Soupa and ice cream from Good Times to Go...all within 30s walk from the hotel exit. It was Season Pass Holders Party weekend, so good crowd in the day (very crowded in the public parking area so I'm glad I didn't have to worry about finding a lot!), and lots of people do return to stay at The Village at Squaw (as I observed when checking-in), and I would too for certain! "Village at squaw"
Very nice condo. Small, but enough room that 2 were very comfortable. Kitchen was equiped better than any I have ever seen.
"okay experience"
The hotel itself was pretty decent in terms of location, comfort and cleanliness. The staff was not at all prompt. I have been to places where staff is a lot more friendly and service is extremely quick. I also felt that for the price we paid for the room, the amenities were not sufficient.

"Spring skiing at the Village at Squaw"
Outstanding location - walking distance to Squaw's major lifts and right in the heart of Squaw Village. We got a great deal since this was the end of the ski season and we were very happy staying here. But the hotel was beginning to show the results of a long ski season: our room's kitchen had many missing items (such as no cereal bowls), there were […] cigarette butts all around outside and on balconies, and the sauna smelled like urine. It seemed the attention to detail was lacking for such a quality place. Mehr
"The Village at Squaw Valley"
We stayed in one of the condos which was quite cozy with a fireplace and balcony and a nice view of the mountains. The room was great with the one complaint being the comfortability of the bed. The mattress was clearly in need of replacement, it pitched towards the middle. I would gladly stay at the Village again but perhaps not again in that same condo […] unit. Mehr

"A little noisy"
The pull out was a little uncomfortable but probably to be expected for a pull out bed and there was alot of noise for snow removal, avalanche control, and kids with snow boots but again, to be expected staying right next to a ski slope. Extremely convenient with a full kitchen.
"Our Stay at Village at Squaw Valley"
Absolutely fabulous!!!
"VERY LOUD!!!"
First, this is NOT a hotel. It is a condo-type of complex where are all the rooms are owned, but rented out by the staff. Second, the location was perfect. It is a small ski village, where you have a bunch of condo complexes with restaurants shops below and you just walk from place to place. It is very small, but cozy. Ultimately, the reason to be there […] was to ski, and Squaw Valley Ski area was within a five minute walk. My biggest gripe was the NOISE. It had already snowed fairly heavy when we got there, then again overnight, so starting at 3 AM they starting clearing up the snow in the walkways below our room and all around the village. It sounded as if they were constructing a new road. They had mini front-loaders (tractors) and people with shovels. This went on from around 3 am to about 6 am. Then around 6:30 am they started BOMBING!! Using Dynamite for avalanche control. That last part I'd understand, but clearing walkways at 3am when people just a few feet above are trying to sleep is insane. Why they couldn't have thought about this at checkin, and put us facing away from the walkways / village. Needless to say, we didn't get a restful sleep. I would not stay there if you expect any snow. Stay somewhere further and drive there and go skiing. Live and Learn. Mehr
"Wonderful Time"
We had a wonderful time visiting Squaw Valley. The Village at Squaw Valley is so nice. We were traveling with our two year old and she had a great time. The hotel doesn't seem to offer room service but the Village has a great selection of restaurants, all were family friendly! We can't wait to come back to the Village at Squaw Valley again next yea […] r!! Mehr
"Village at Squaw"
This place is everything you would expect and more. Extremely friendly staff, super clean and organized and a great getaway for a winter vacation. I will be coming back a few times this winter and will highly recommend it to anyone. Don't settle for anything less, stay at the Village at Squaw.
"village at squaw valley"
