Anker Hotel - Oslo

Das Anker Hotel liegt zentral mit gutem Bus-; Straßenbahnanschluß. Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Empfang. Das Zimmer (3 Bett) war einfach ausgerüstet, aber sauber und ruhig. Ebenfalls sehr sauber waren der Naßbereich mit Dusche. Das Frühstückbuffett sowie der Frühstücksraum sind so lala. Das Hotel liegt 10 min Gehabstand zum Bahnhof. Die Zimmer sind relativ einfach ausgestattet, Badezimmer sehr einfach, aber alles sauber und ok. Frühstücksraum erinnert mehr an Jugendherberge, aber Frühstück selber ist gut. Alles in allem: der Preis liegt bei 50-70% der "normalen" Hotels und ist voll ok. Service klappte prima. Die Zimmer waren schon am Vormittag zum einchecken bereit. Konnten die Koffer also gut abstellen und dann die Stadt besichtigen. Der Parkplatz am Hotel war optimal, wenn auch recht teuer. Dafür konnten wir den Wagen aber noch nach dem auschecken bis Mitternacht stehen lassen. Hotel gut vom Bahnhof aus zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind groß (wir hatten ein 3-Bett-Zimmer). Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer war nicht ganz nach meinem Wunsch. Bei Ankuft habe ich einen Leinsamen auf der WC-Brille gefunden. ? ? ? Wie kann das denn sein ? ? ? Ansonsten im allgemeinen o.k. - Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung. Zimmer und Hotel sind genau das, was man für diesen Preis in Oslo erwarten darf. Schlecht ist das Frühstück, der Inhalt der Großpackungen wird lieblos aufgestapelt und man muss viel Hunger mitbringen, um mit Appetit zu essen. Deshalb nur eine druchschnittliche Bewertung von uns, obwohl das Hotel ansonsten schön und der Service gut war.

Leider wird im Hotel im Moment gebaut, es wird wohl vergrößert, dadurch ist der Frühstücksraum sehr klein und die Speisenauswahl geringer als bei meinen vorherigen Aufenthalten. Baulärm ab 7 Uhr in der Woche, eine Information über Baumaßnahmen vor Reisebeginn hat nicht erfolgt

Lage ist Zentral, das ist auch der einzigste positive Aspekt! Neben unserem Zimmer wurde gebaut.. wir wurden um 8.00 Uhr mit Bohrmaschinenlärm geweckt. Das Zimmer sowie der Eingangsbereich waren schmuddelig.

Overall good stay, the only beef I had is that I was charged an extra $10 for sheets and blanket which was not included in the room rate. (whereby I paid a hotel rate) assuming it would be included.

The is a rat hole. Do not waste your hard earned money here. A total let down. I wouldn't stay in this hotel even for free. Very Useless hotel.

This hotel has its own hostel next door and is not located in the best part of Oslo. There was 2 attempts on my wallet from the Tram stop to the hotel during my visit. I paid extra for a room with satelite TV as I was staying for 10 days. This was not available in my room and as advertised "not guaranteed". There is better hotels in Oslo to stay.

Got ripped off in hotel lobby. Felt very unsafe walking there and after getting our bag stolen in the lobby. The only nice thing to say is the staff Maria and Eric were great and felt very bad for us.

We stayed 4 nights at the Anker Hotel. When we arrived we took a taxi from the bus station but we discovered afterwards we could easily have walked it. The hotel is not that far from the station or Karl Johangate. The rooms were lovely, free WIfi available to check emails. Reception were helpful with queries we had. There was plenty to eat at breakfast […] but the hot food was usually gone cold. So we just stuck with the continental breakfast items. There was a bus/tram stop just down the street (Hausmanns Gate) so it was very easy to get around. Would recommend the hotel. Mehr

Hotel facade looks new. Room & toilet are of good size. Location is within walking distance to Oslo Central Station & eateries. However, the reception staff can do with more smiles & customer service training.

We stayed at Anker in early september 2011. Overall, very positive experience. The staff was helpful, room was conmfortable, especially by European standards, the breakfast buffet had many options and the breakfast area is large enough so that you have no issues finding a table anytime in the morning. This hotel is about 10-15 min walk from center of […] town so we found the location very convenient and we walked everywhere from the hotel. You can also walk to the central station if you are catching a train or an airport shuttle and it is a quick cab ride from the ferries that come in from Olso and other curises. Only issue was that, as in many European hotels, there was no separation between shower and bathroom floor so that when you shower, water is everywhere and the bathroom is pretty small. Mehr

Stayed here for a 30-year reunion of old friends, all in our late 40s. We had four people in a triple room (hotel provided an extra bed). The hotel was accommodating and good at email communication for our room before we arrived. Impressed with the generous room size and quality of furnishings, etc. in the room; the lobby was also large, clean, inviting, […] and appealing to hang out in. The neighborhood is a little run down but we felt entirely safe, even walking back in the evening, and the streetcar stops just outside the hotel. Mehr

Convenient to the centre and at a sensible price. Rooms clean and tidy. The rooms in the new part of the hotel are slightly larger than those in the old part. 10 minute walk from the central train station.

Overall I was quite satisfied with the hotel. It is comparable to an IBIS hotel but with slightly bigger rooms.

Anker Hotel is located near the central of Oslo city. There are several trams and buses just in front of it. When we got in the hotel at 10am in the morning, the reception arranged us to early check in which we appreciated a lot. The room is clean and breakfast is OK. The point which we don't like is the door. Unlike most hotels, their doors open outwards […] and don't have internal lock. This made us feel not safe. Good hotel and location. We were there for two nights. The bed is comfortable and the room is quiet. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a decent hotel at a price that is extremely reasonable for such as expensive city as Oslo.

remember, Oslo and Norway are very expensive.. I was able to walk everywhere from this hotel.. so no Taxi expenses..

A clean room, a nice bed and a good shower (not in tub) Nice, polite employees always makes a hotel stay easier. 10 minute walk to the City Center

The hotel has both hostel and hotel portions, and we selected the hotel facility. We found the room clean and well-maintained. Service was excellent and the breakfast (if you purchase the included breakfast) was a nice selection. The hotel is about 1 block from a bus/tram stop that takes you to many of the museums, and we found the location to be convenient […] for sightseeing. There were plenty of budget-friendly restaurants within a short walk, and if you choose to walk from the station, it's 10-15 minutes with luggage but an easy walk. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Mehr

Great location and plenty of choice in the buffet breakfast....would just like to see a bit more knowledge of local tourist attractions from receptionists. Otherwise, great budget hotel.

After a false start of entering Anker Hostel (just beside Anker Hotel), we found the hotel to be much more pleasant in terms of the spaciousness and comfort. The hotel looks like it was a hostel before that has been refurbished. So, dont expect high end hotel-quality room but everything was clean and well-kept. It was strange that we have to borrow […] a kettle from the counter but otherwise, the room was well equipped. Breakfast was excellent and the people generally very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a tad far from the main city (about 2-3 tram stops) but the tram station is just outside the hotel so very convenient. The Munch museum is about 15 mins walk away! Mehr

Good location for public transportation, though a little unnerving. Found lots of hairs in bed, so unsure if sheets were changed. Arrived after 11PM. Bathroom floor had shower drain..no designated shower: just a shower curtain, toilet and sink.

The area was very noisy area with alot of construction noise especially in the very early morning.

Hotel is under construction and the noise begins quite early. No warning that that would be a problem when I booked. Also there are tram tracks in the street in front of the hotel that are quite noisy. Yes indeed there is parking available, but what they don't tell you is that there is a considerable daily charge for parking in the adjacent parking […] deck. Mehr

Anker was perfect- but I am easy. Breakfast was good, the rooms were quiet and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. The location was perfect. Overall a great experience.

Clean room. Limited breakfast included in the price was good. It was easy walking distance to the central station and downtown Oslo.
