Schönes Hotel, freundliches Personal, gute Lage. Frühstück mit genügend Auswahl.

Very bried due to my late arrival and early morning check out (my arrangements). Room comfortable but a b it "tired" and would benefit from a makeover. Walls npot sound insulated so I was woken up by very noisy guests in adjacent room at 2:00 am!

great close to all travel and shopping within walking distance

the hotel itself was great in an awesome location across the road from the train and trams so access to everywhere stayed 8 nights was very happy that it was in the cbd for the free city circle trams 2 min walk to fedaration square . Only downfall was that the sheets and pillowcases were never changed in the whole stay. overall otherwise would recomend […] it to anyone staff were so great and helpful with everything Mehr

Even though the room was a bit run down it was pretty clean. The bed was comfortable bathroom was clean. What sells it for me is the location. I would stay there again.

Convenient location, nice clean room with city view. Close to airport bus and for CBD meetings.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet, although the furnishings are somewhat spartan (i.e., no counters in the bathroom, no drawers for clothing and only a tiny closet). The location is very good and the reception staff was quite friendly and helpful. Overall, a good value for the money.

Great location to see the sights of downtown Melbourne. Had some minor problems with the cleaning staff but the front desk staff were able to resolve these problems. Easy to walk or take public transportation to everthing there is to see and do in downtown Melbourne. Area a little rough around the edges but added to the charm of the central city.

Great location and the rooms with a view of Flinders street are great. The cleanliness of the hotel was good, some of the bathroom fittings a little worse for wear but clean all the same. The staff impressed us the most. Everyone was very welcoming and polite and could answer any questions promptly - very good customer service.

Citigate Hotel centrally located in Flinders Street, close to all transport (especially the trams!). Great breakfast daily (buffet style-full breakfast), friendly staff, neat and tidy room serviced daily. Comfortable beds, good amenities ,onsite gym - no pool but St Kilda only a tram trip away. Will stay there again!

My sister & I have been coming to Melbourne every year for 5 years now for the Aus Open.This was the first time at Citigate.We loved everything about this hotel from the staff,room(which was very quiet)& the closeness to trams,food & a nice walk to Rod Laver.We will be booking again for next year.Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Located at the center of Melbourne right on the free shuttle bus and tram Walking distance to major shopping or sights Team at reception very helpful and share their city experience with me you get few hours of free WiFi at reception area This was an excelant stay

Great location. Able to walk to many sites and right across the street from the bus/tram/train terminal which makes it easy to get to other areas. Very helpful staff and concierge. Nice rooms.

Location is fantastic but room was dirty, all upholstery was stained and food quality was poor. Towels were so thin you could see through them. My socks got dirty from walking on the carpet. Were it not for a great staff, it would be a total loss. For the price - you might want to try another property.

We stayed four nights during the Aust Open tennis, and found the hotel clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, despite it being one of the busiest times of the year. The only brickbat was the room's close proximity to the neighbouring office building, which cut out most natural light. My partner complained lots about […] the lack of good lighting in the bathroom and elsewhere for putting on makeup etc. Stronger downlights would help. Mehr

very satisfiedl. Staff is nice but could be improved. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are small but well organised and tidy.

Good location but hotel rooms are very old. The towels had holes in them and I hated the shower over the bath situation. I hate shower curtains! The king sized beds are two twin beds put together, you can feel the space between the beds. The iPod dock only works for iPod and not iPhones, which I found disappointing. There was only two Foxtel channels, […] I had the impression that I would have more selections. I couldnt see any of the movies, there was no way of selecting them via the remote. Apart from that, the hotel is in a good location, close to everything. The rooms were clean so at least that's good. Mehr

First, I believe you can make or break a hotel based on the staff that you hire. Their staff was beyond friendly and Kristen settled me in on Christmas day like a champ and the staff always had a smile and was ready to help. Location: Very central to everything! The trams were less than a block away and the great laneways of Melbourne were right outside […] my room and ready for dinner each night. Shopping was absurd as you could walk two blocks and everything was there. Gym: Basic, but the cool part was that it overlooked the main street and you could people watch while working out (but they couldn't watch you). Business Lounge: Two computers and free printing. Enough to do what you needed to. Don't forget to clear your cache. Internet Access: Wireless Free in the lobby. In your room it was a bit of a problem. While there is a charge, you have to literally plug in via a cable and on new laptops this is not always an option. Comfort - Bed was fantastically comfortable. Ipod dock was great. Black out curtains worked like a charm. Cleanliness - Okay they have a bit of work to do here. I went to iron a shirt and found a destroyed iron which they immediately replaced with a new one (kudos). The walls looked like they could use a good scrub down. On a daily basis they did not empty the trash bins unless I asked. If you wanted your room serviced, you needed to indicate so. However, upon asking they immediately took care of everything with a smile. Minibar - Stocked daily. Chips, peanuts, candy, alcohol, juice, water. Lounge/Room Service: They serve breakfast, but I recommend going out since you are surrounded by fantastic restaurants. Keys: Not imagining this, the keys are wonky. You definitely need to insert them a few times before they work. Pull the door in, turn the handle, insert the key twice and voila worked every time. Again, the stay was fantastic and what a value! My stay at the hotel was comfortable. The size of the room was just right for one person. The room and bathroom was clean. The location of the hotel is very central-- everything was within walking distance

This hotel is a bit of a hidden jewel. Having stayed in Melbourne on many occasions I must say that in terms of value for money this one is at the top of the list. It is within reasonable walking distance of all main attractions, is located opposite Flinders St Railway Station and has a tram stop out the front. The hotel is clean, neat, tidy and modern […] with all the usual conveniences. The staff were very helpful and professional. Whilst the physical appearance of the surrounding area is a bit unkempt within 2 minutes you can walk to any number of restaurants and cafes to have a meal. We didn't use the dining facilities at the hotel but it did appear well serviced. Mehr

Great location of hotel,close to flinders street station and fed.square.Hotel itself not so good,poor housekeeping of hotel room,all surfaces dusty,stained counterpane on bed and,bathroom facilities very basic!! I think basic cleanliness should be a must for any good hotel,don't you?

Recently made a 3 day escape to Melbourne. Based on a recommendation from a friend I stayed at the Citigate in the CBD. This hotel has in my opinion the best location in Melbourne. Located literally 30metres from Federation square! 100 metres walk can take you to the river (southbank eateries) or in the other direction the CBD shopping streets, iconic […] laneways filled with restaurants and an atmosphere that is unique to Melbourne. Tram and train station are just across the road, and the trams are definetly the best way to get around the CBD. The Hotel staff were all very friendly, and willing to offer suggestions for your visit to Melbourne. They do offer luggage storage and the bus service I took (skybus) drops you right out front with their hotel transfer service (much cheaper than any cab service, look them up). The rooms were small but comfortable. We are talking a King size bed and a decent sized bathroom, all you need really. TV was flatscreen but could have been bigger, but they had a ipod/iphone speaker dock next to the bed which makes up for the average sized TV. Rooms were quiet and it had 3 elevators which were fast and reliable for guests staying up high. They had 24/7 room service but prices weren't great (avoid the snacks/drinks in the fridge as there is a coles just around the corner with the same products for 1/2 the price.) Room price was about the average for CBD Melbourne but for short stays its well worthwhile due to the Hotel's good location. Should mention it has free WiFi in the lobby, and free access to Computer/printer with internet access in the 'business lounge' basically just a part of the lobby. And Pay-to-use internet available in the rooms. (seemed to be the norm for Melbourne) Mehr

This hotel is right in the heart of the city, courteous staff, excellent rooms, clean comfortable rooms, fabulous king size bed, nearby parking. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Great hotel, would happily stay there again. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room had a great view and was nice and clean. Free Foxtel was a nice touch too.

We needed a hotel close to Southbank for a wedding. This one was perfect, and was within easy walking distance of most tourist attractions. The free city circle tram was at our door. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended!

Being from the country and not getting away much we found that this motel was fantastic. It was very close to everything, very clean, and had a spectacular view of the city and Yarra river of an evening!...would definately stay here again!

This is the second time I have stayed at Citigate Melbourne and was thrilled with the room the first time. Although, once getting up to our room I found it to be very dirty. There was scuff marks all over the walls there was grime in the shower and on the basin. The bed felt dirty as though it hadnt been cleaned. This hotel was in a fantastic location, close to everything. The staff were great. The room had a lovely view and was neat and comfortable. There was 24-hour room service at affordable prices and buffet breakfast. I would highly recommend it.

Very nice hotel, fair price, good location

Hotel was in an excellent location. Good level of cleanliness, nice shower, spacious room. Only 1 computer in the business room however for guests to use. The water view room was overpriced for what it was.

I was travelling with my mother for a shopping weekend. We wanted a central location and were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming on arrival, and attentive when we needed batteries replaced for the tv remote. Very pleased with Citigate Melbourne, would book in again any time.

Hotel room nice and clean. Towels changed daily, thankyou and staff most helpful. Only negative was walk to pick up Skybus about a block and half away. Suggest you catch cab for convenience and negligible price difference from this location.

Great, friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms were a little small and ordinary, with a shower over the bathtub. For these sort of prices would expect a decent shower facility. Clean room and is a place I would stay again, due its great location. Parking is a bit of a pain being 100 meters away and having to pay for parking as well as your room makes […] it a costly expense for what you receive, even with a discount for the parking. Parking should be free. Apart from that would recommend this hotel and would give it 3.5 stars. Mehr

Stayed 4 nights. One day the housekeeping did not come to fix the room, the others they simply did an awful job (toilet, bathroom, rugs).

This was the first time we had stayed here and it was absolutley great; close to the CBD and Southbank and easy to find (as it's directly opposite Flinders Street Station). The staff will all friendly and the room itself was clean and large for the price. We had a room on the 9th floor at the side and you couldn't hear the busy main street. I think […] it would be a problem if you were sleeping out the front, but just make sure you ask for a room to the side or the back. Everything was in walking distance and we had absolutely no complaints about any part of the stay. We had friends stay in a more 'up market' hotel (near Crown Casino) paying more and their room was smaller than ours! This is now our preferred hotel when staying in Melbourne!! Mehr

Rooms were very comfortable and we were close to everything, would stay again.

Nearly everything was perfect at this hotel. The only complaint I have is the bed in my room was 2 singles pushed together, instead of a king which was requested apon my booking. This was extremely uncomfortable.
