Hotel Valencia Santana Row - San José

good experience night and day!!!

We actually live about 20 minutes from the hotel, but it was my daughter's 17th birthday and all she wanted was to walk Santana Row with friends, then hunker in a hotel room and watch a movie after. It was perfect for this. We (the parents) got a room too, just to be close in case of any problems (there weren't any). The hotel was lovely, with a nice […] (albeit small) pool area and jacuzzi. The room was perfect the only thing it was missing was an upgraded shower maybe some type of glass enclosure. other than that it had the right ingredients for a good weekend

Great location, great service, room was a little small. Just wasn't what I expected - would not stay again to no fault of the Hotel.

The hotel was really nice, i liked everything about the room!! I would stay here again, is a little pricey, so i cant do it all the time, but maybe once in a while!

The hotel was great--nice rooms, good facilities, good breakfast--but it was completely overrun by twentysomethings using the bar as a pick up spot on the Friday night we were there. There was literally no place in the hotel--other than our room--for us to sit and have a drink. The two outdoor patios were both closed by the time we got back from dinner, […] probably to keep them from being overrun, too. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the fireplaces in the outdoor areas. It was very disappointing to not actually have access to them. Great hotel for our weekend getaway to see a show at HP Pavillon and do some shopping. It was a very pleasant expirence.

I wanted to get away for a night without driving far and had great stay at the hotel. Our room was great, the pool and hot tub fantastic. The only thing wrong was the breakfast, it quite frankly was completely out of character for this place. Everything was top notch expect for their food...what a way to end a fabulous night. This hotel is perfect for business or pleasure! Great location, customer service, shopping, night life, entertainment...everything was GREAT!!!!!

Great free breakfast which makes the high price of this hotel more realistic. They tried to charge me for valet parking that I did not use. There is plenty of free parking within a 2 minute walk to the hotel -- no reason to pay for valet parking. NO room for a full bottle of wine in the refrig without removing a bunch of minibar stuff.

Great location and a very nice hotel with a Mediterranean feeling. Only been there on business, but it would be great for any purpose.

The hotel was in the middle of the very, hip and modern upscale Santana Row district. Expect excellent dining options as well as several bars/clubs for nightly entertainment. Appeals mostly to singles and couples looking for a nice fun place to stay while visiting the San Jose area.

The location is great. The 3rd floor lobby is a little confusing and the valet's attire could be more representative of the hotel ambiance.

No menu of movies to buy TOO NOISY at night - tons of party going on unfriendly staff unexpected bad service

Great hotel in a great location. The hotel room was large enough to relax in. The only problem with the hotel room was that it tended to be loud. We were on the 6th floor and I think there was a wedding above us that we could hear for awhile. Other than that, the hotel was great.

Our recent stay was disappointing. The room was next to the stairwell and was noisy. We also had a noticable amount of mechanical noise / vibration from an adjacent shaft. Hotel Valencia is normally terrific, but we were disappointed this time.

The fitness room seems quite small and poorly equipped for a hotel of such a fine caliber otherwise.

Simply great hotel!!

I live locally but decided to stay here after celebrating a friends birthday at SR. The hotel's romantic ambiance was so relaxing- dimmed lights and private lounge areas. We had the room with a balcony, facing the courtyard. The view was amazing. It had double doors and was big enough for us to actually sit and enjoy our drinks. The bed was perfect […] to my preference. Pillows were not too soft and I just wanted to melt into the down blankets. Our favorite was the complimentary buffet breakfast. I'm not big on eating breakfast, but it was the best I've had anywhere. Only complaint, the only privacy to the bathroom is the door. Be prepared to be heard. Mehr

I truly recommend this hotel.. It does it all for a couple...thank you so much for making our anninversery complete!!

Had a wonderful stay, staff was extremely accommodating - and super fast - in getting me a bedboard, an extra lamp to read by, and quickly secured my laptop after i left it at the bell stand. Room was lovely - although really bad lighting, very dark - but altogether a tremendous stay and excellent value for the money. We came for a weekend getaway -- shopping, dining, etc. Everything was great -- except for the carnival atmosphere of Santana Row well into the night. Our room was located above the live music venue and the pub... large crowds and music were quite noisy both nights (Friday & Saturday) until midnight. I was driving almost 17 hrs for my business trip. I checked in early and try to clean up myself, the housekeeper came in to the room without any notice. After one hour later, I try to sleep a man knock the door for check up minibar. Gee.... I coun't take a rest there. so..gusess what? I checked out at 1:00pm and go to Hyatt. We stayed at the Hotel Valencia on a whim. We had a great time. The hotel staff is very professional. The location of the hotel is ideal, shopping, great restaurants, night life. We very much enjoyed ourselves and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Valencia was great fun for a girl's night out. We enjoyed a great dinner at nearby Sino, the hotel room was beautifully furnished and we got a rate well below the hotel's listed rate with hotels.com. The only problem was trying to get to sleep. Our room overlooked the Maggiano's lawn and that, combined with the celebrations and parties going on […] in the hotel, it was very loud until about 2a.m. However, if you're planning to be up late anyway, this was a great place to stay.
