The Ambrose - Santa Monica

Das Hotel können wir weiterempfehlen. Mann muss ich aber im klaren sein das man 20 Blocks entfernt ist vom Strand und auch von der Mall. Der Shutell Service funktioniert sehr gut aber er fährt nicht überall hin. Leider ist das Hotel sehr "hellhörig" wenn jemand einen leichten Schlaf hat wird er hier ein Problem haben - da man Fernseh Geräusche, Toilettenspülung […] vom Nachbarn hört. Wir haben uns bei der Buchung des Hotels Ambrose in Santa Monica auf die Bewertungen im Inernet abgestützt - und wurden nicht enttäuscht: Sauberes Zimmer, genug Platz (zum Packen vor der Abreise), bequeme Betten, Free Wifi, sogar einen Balkon, Parkplatz in der Garage (inbegriffen) UND ein Super-Frühstück - als Europäer mit ausgeprägter Frühstücks-Kultur […] ein wunderbarer Vorteil (inbegriffen im Zimmerpreis). Einziger Makel. Der Hotel-Shuttle (ein englisches Taxi) fährt einem zwar gratis ins Zentrum von Santa Monica, aber nur bis ca. 22.30 Uhr am Abend. ABER: Für die Rückkehr ins Hotel kann man das Taxi nur telefonisch wieder bestellen und nicht vorab einen Termin und Treffpunkt vereinbaren. Das ist nicht praktisch und kostspielig für jene, die kein US-Handy haben. Und: Den Taxidienst gibt es nur "upon availability". Dieser Zusatz wird beim Hotel nicht hervorgestrichen - verständlicherweise. Love this boutique hotel. Great location and easy to walk to bars, stores and mass transit. Healthy breakfast. Better to stay here with personal service.

The hotel is situated in a quiet neigbourhood about 2 miles from downtown Santa Monica. Hotel staff was very friendly. Free parking, free Internet and even free local transport! Clean and spacious rooms, but a bit worn/old-fashioned. Very noisy air conditioning in the rooms. All was great. including the breakfast and parking which are included in the price of the room. The wish list would be: coffee, tea and hot water in the room. do not disturb sign.

Hotel staff were excellent, the rooms clean and simply appointed. Internet was reliable and fast. Breakfast was simply fantastic, great coffee, pastries and fresh strawberries!

My wife and two young daughters stayed here recently for 5 nights as part of our Southern Calif vacation. We coudn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. We had one daughter on special temp medication and they were able to refrigerate it for us. We locked up valuables both in the room safe and in the mgr's office. Free wifi, parking, b-fast + great […] staff make this a sure bet. Highly recommend the Ambrose and we will surely like to come back. Mehr

The hotel was very nice. I was a little concerned about the price i was offer online because i have never not been charged more than what they offered but it was right on the money. Everyone was nice and they had free underground parking. SOOOOO nice.

Really enjoyed the Ambrose Hotel in Santa Monica! Very nice, quaint, and comfortable. The only problem I had was that I was charged for an item from the mini-bar that wasn't used. Called them up and they immediately fixed the bill, great customer service!

Very nice continental breakfast but NO COFFEE IN THE ROOM!? Very green hotel (dim lights). Friendly staff. Very pretty garden and overall look and feel to the place.

While this hotel is pretty far away from the main walking areas of Santa Monica, the free parking, free WiFi, free breakfast, free hotel taxi and free bikes all make up for the location. The location is great, however, if you want quick access to the freeways to explore the rest of LA. The free bikes were convenient, but kind of junky and not very well […] maintained. Still, they got us around the very bike friendly city. The free hotel taxi service around Santa Monica was a great feature we took advantage of to go out at night. I give it low marks on comfort because the downside to our stay was our room location (room 211) - it faced the alley with garbage and delivery truck noise right outside our window all day long starting before 8am. Not great for sleeping in or napping during the day. It was also next to the housekeeping closet, which was noisy all day too. If you want quiet, ask for a room that does not face the alley. Mehr

My room faced back with a clear view of the hospital loading dock. At 7:30 am you get to hear the booming noise of metal garbage bins being loaded into sanitation trucks. Very loud!! Not an issue if you do not need to sleep late, still annoying if you are already awake. I give the hotel 4 stars but knock off a star for the noise.

This is our second stay at the Ambrose. Just a short 25 minute walk to all that is happening in Santa Monica without being right in the middle of it all. The hotel is so quiet with a nice seating area in front. Biggest plus is that parking is free in their underground garage. Enjoy the expanded continental breakfast, too.

I appreciated the up-grade on my room, which had a great balcony. Breakfast was good, and the staff helpful and courteous. The location is over a mile from the beach, but it's at a quieter location, even though only a block from Wiltshire Blvd. with its restaurants and a nearby Whole Foods grocery.

Fantastic hotel, great facilities and staff. A touch too far from downtown - but the London taxi cab shuttle service was fantastic; always on hand to take you to wherever you wanted to go in SM.

Loved everything about the low key comfort and 'coolness' of the Ambrose........we'll go back again!

We really enjoyed this hotel. The room itself was very comfortable, the location was convenient to everything we needed. I was impressed with the easy / free parking and free internet! The only reason that I did not rate this hotel a 5 was because we were awakened every morning at 7:30am by the sound of garbage trucks emptying big dumpsters and it went […] on for about 30 min. Our room was located near the back of the hotel. Next time I will request a room near the front of the hotel. Mehr

The Ambrose is AWESOME! The rooms are beautiful in a safe, quite area. Very Green! Organic snacks on the mini bar, recycling can in room.The staff was so super and the cleaning staff when beyond!! I'm very picky about where I lay me head...LOL!! I actually slept on the bedding which felt so clean and comfortable :-) Ask for a room with a garden view. […] The sound of the babbling brook was relaxing. Free parking! Stayed in Beverly Hills 3 week prior and paid $30 a day just to park. Nice safe parking deck. Ambrose is accessible to shopping and restaurants. They have bikes for rent. Absolutely Awesome Place! Small and intimate. Nice couple retreat or getaway for one. I was there alone for business, but I am looking forward to coming back with the hubby in next month :-) I really can't say anything bad about the Ambrose! Mehr

The Ambrose is a predictably low key pleasant retreat. The continental breakfast is welcome the housekeeping service is inobtrusive and the secure parking reassuring. Overall we were delighted to stay there again.

Very nice place to stay. Quiet location in a safe area. Very good service with pleasant staff. You can walk to downtown Santa Monica if you want or use the complimentary shuttle. Also a nice place to relax as well. The only negatives were: Thin walls The shower curtain that blocked out all light. I'm not used to showering in the dark. Pluses: Very good location, free parking & wifi, 'interesting' buffet breakfast - picnic style. Negatives: small, cramped room, dated bathroom, tatty shower & microscopic bathtub/footbath.

Although it is a nice boutique style hotel, parking is diffcult to attain, esp after 10pm and I did not realize this was a very eco friendly hotel and there were no smoking rooms. So as long as your not a smoker, you will probably enjoy your stay here.

This is a great hotel if you want tranquility, solicitious service, cleanliness, free parking and a continental breakfast. We would stay there again and recommend it to our friends. Reasonable prices for the Santa Monica area were greatly appreciated.

staff was charming and extremely helpful. the hotel is lovely, the rooms large, the beds and linens first class.

My husband and I stayed at the Ambrose on Memorial Day weekend. We were immediately given a complimentary room upgrade for no reason! The employees at the hotel were very helpful, courteous, and also happy. Our room was clean and had a nice view; however, there was no microwave, the refrigerator didn't work, and there was a musty smell in the room the […] first night. The complimentary continental breakfast both days was very tasty. We thought that the overall location of the hotel was great because it was close enough to the beach and 3rd St, but not too close that we could feel the all the crowds that were down along Ocean Ave. The hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle service, and the parking structure is secured at night. 全館禁煙で、アットホームさも感じる環境。お部屋も広く、小さいながらもバルコニーもあってかわいい、とてもイイ感じのホテルです。 サンタモニカへは歩くと距離はありますが、お願いすれば近所までは送ってくれるサービスがあります。 駐車場の入り口が正面左側にあり、ほんの少しわかりずらいかもしれません。地下１Fと２Fと駐車場がありパーキングには十分なスペースがありました。夜になると入り口およびホテル内に入るところにカードを差し込まないと入れないとなっているのでセキュリティーも十分かと思います。

エコとナチュラルをテーマにした静かなホテル。チェックインからチェックアウトまでホテル従業員に会うことなく滞在できるホテルです。部屋はウッドフロアの落ち着いたアーリーアメリカン風のインテリア。朝食はセルフ式のベーカリー＆ベバレッジのシンプルなものです。サンタモニカで朝食付き、駐車料金無料というのは、掘り出しものです。

急にサンタモニカに寄ることになり、やっと見つけたのがこのホテル。あまり期待せずに行きましたが、期待以上に落ち着けました。 従業員の応対も穏やかで丁寧だし、ロビーの照明の具合やソファのすわり心地もとてもよかったです。部屋も静かで快適でした。 自転車を借りて朝のサンタモニカビーチまで散歩できたのが一番ハイライトでした（ただし4台しかないので借りられない場合も多いらしい）。 また行きたいと、素直に思える良いホテルです。
