Nur ca. 80 m von der Metrostation Deak Ference entfernt. Großteil der Sehenswürdigkeiten von dort aus zu Fuß erreichbar. Ansonsten optimale Anbindung an Metro, Straßenbahn und Bus. Das Hotel selber kann ich jederzeit weiter empfehlen. Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis passen.

Das Hotel befindet sich in der Nähe der EXPO. Da wir ein Auto dabei hatten, war mfür mich der kostenlose Parkplatz direkt vor dem Hotel super. In anderen Hotels in BUD musste ich immer bis zu 16 EUR zahlen. Dafür ist man hier etwas abseits, jedoch in ca. 10 minuten mitten in BUD. Das Frühstücksbuffet entsprach den Erwartungen. Auswahl an Eierspeisen und Wurst war besser als im Mercure. Und das beste, hier noch alles inkl. Auf dem Dach gibt es auch noch einen WellnessBereich. Hier der Abstrich, die Sauna wurde leider erst am abend angeschaltet und der Jacuzi war leider abends um 7 immer noch auf 29 Grad. DIeser wurde zwar an diesem Tag gereinigt, doch dies hätte man auch am Vormittag machen können, so dass am Abend dieser auch zu benutzen ist! Ansonsten, tolles Hotel. Ich werde beim nächsten mal dieses wieder buchen. TIP: LH hat mir dieses Hotel schon mal angeboten, als mein Flug leider nicht zurück nach FRA starten konnte

Das Hotel hat eine Top-Lage in der Innenstadt. Das Haus ist sehr schön restauriert. Der Restaurant- Bereich ist besonders schön im alten Stil hergerichtet. Am Frühstücksbuffett ist für jeden etwas zu finden und bis zum Schluss wird alles aufgefüllt. Die Zimmer sind gut. Allerdings war der W-Lan Empfang im Anbau schlecht. Ein Netzwerkkabel gehörte auch zur Ausstattung. Der Wellness- Bereich ist sauber und gut. Alles in allem ein Super- Hotel, um die Stadt zu erkunden.

Großes, schön eingerichtetes Hotel, zwar etwas Abseits gelegen und die Umgebung ist eine einfache Wohngegend. Dennoch reizvoll direkt gegenüber der Margareteninsel und man ist schnell bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Bezahlbare Parkplätze vor dem Hotel sind ein großer Pluspunkt in Budapest.

Lage: Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs, in einer etwas ruhigeren Seitenstraße und ist relativ einfach zu finden. Die Stadt-Busse fahren fast direkt vor dem Hotel vorbei, so dass man diese wunderbar für die Fahrt in den Stadtkern nutzten kann. Die Tickets konnten wir direkt im Hotel kaufen. Hotel: Das Hotel macht schon von Außen einen sehr schönen und gepflegten Eindruck und auch der Empfangsbreich sowie die Aufzüge und Flure alles super sauber und in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Die Empfangsmitarbeiter waren sehr nett und man konnte alles auf Deutsch erledigen. Zimmer: Die Zimmer waren sauber, nur im Bad waren ein paar kleine Stellen, die noch genauer geputzt hätten werden können und die Dusche hätte von Außen eine neue Fuge benötigt. Aber die Dusche im innreren und die Amaturen waren sauber und in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Das Bett war super bequem und auch sehr schön groß! Der Ausblick aus unserem Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk war sehr schön. Das Zimmer war sehr warm, da wir die Klimaanlage nicht zum laufen gebracht haben, aber wir haben das Fenster zum Balkon geöffnet und das war dann sehr angenehm. Schwimmbad/Restaurant: Haben wir beides nicht benutzt und können dazu nichts sagen. Frühstück: Die Auswahl war umfangreich, viele frische Früchte und Müsli, verschiedene Brote, Wurst und Käse. Auch warme Speisen. Es war für jeden etwas dabei. Tiefgarage: Wir haben den Tiefgaragenplatz genutzt, weil unser Auto ziemlich neu ist. Leider ist die Abfahrt in das zweite UG ziemglich eng und steil, so dass man vorsichtig fahren bzw. sein Auto gut kennen sollte. Aber ansonsten ist die Garage sehr parktisch und sauber. Abschließend kann man sagen, ein sehr schönes Hotel, in dem wir immer wieder übernachten würden, da es uns vor allem auf die Qualität der Betten sowie die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ankommt und diese unseren doch sehr hohen Anforderungen gerecht wurden. An sich ein schönes Hotel, wenn man erst mal im Innern ist! Oberflächlig ist es im Bad recht sauber gewesen, leider war die Dusche ziemlich vom Kalk befallen und defekt! Das Hotel liegt gleich neben Der Elisabethen Brücke auf der Pest Seite. Man ist sofort auf der Vazi Uca, an der Donau etc. Unser Zimmer war leider SEHR dunkel und die Beleuchtung war sehr schlecht. Wie das Wetter draußen war, konnten wir kaum sagen, da unser Zimmerfenster in den Innenhof ging und man nichts gesehen hat. Wie gesagt sehr dunkel. Einen […] Fön gab´s auf Nachfrage an der Rezeption. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat uns nicht zugesagt, haben am 2. Tag dann auswärts gegessen. Suuper sauber war das Zimmer auch nicht. Grosse Zimmer. Das Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum. Wir hatten jedoch das Zimmer gegen die Strasse, welche ein bisschen lärmig war.

Room extremely clean and hotel staff very helpful indeed. Ideally located this hotel to numerous amount of sites to visit. If I were to be honest I think that the rooms could have been provided with tea; coffee facilities. The breakfast was good. I would recommended this hotel as good value for money.

Excellent value budget hotel, with great central location. We didn't have to use public transport or taxi at all.First impressions were a little off-putting but we quickly settled in. Only quibble is that there were no tea making facilities in the rooms.

The staff at the hotel were unable to address a problem with the wireless service ... or should I say the absence of it. The staff direct you to one terminal which is often in use. They seem unaware of the options to test or fix the problem. Essentially, unresponsive. Unfortunate since all other factors were positive.

If you are a 5-star person this is not the place for you. However, if you want to be close to site-seeing destinations, and like to travel within a budget, this place is GREAT. Good size room with private bathroom, fridge with lock for valuables, TV and plenty of closet/ shelf space. Four minute walk to the Metro.....Close to a good coffee shop, good […] places to eat, money exchange, etc. You will have to haul your luggage up one set of stairs to get to the elevator. There was also some noise from others outside, but our window was open towards the courtyard. This is one of those hotels that thrives because of tour packages and tourist that doesn't have any options once they purchase one. Upon our arrival (which was quite late due to our delayed flt), the front desk didn't have our reservation and proceeded to tell us that they didn't have any room. He was not interested in talking to us, much less helping […] us. Thankfully enough, I had our confirmation number. He then told us to wait while he investigate. Once he found our reservation, he then quickly told us that the price does not include breakfast (thank goodness cause I wouldn't want to eat it). The lobby was in disrepair, the shower was so small that I burned myself bumping into where the hot water was connected to the shower handle. If you don't have a four star hotel, then you should at least give a four star service. This hotel gave neither. On the good note, it was convenient. Mehr

"An excellent location"
A hotel in a heritage building, hotel building itself is amazing. It's very near to river from where you can walk down and see all major attraction. A must stay.

Perfect location and short walking distance to many of the main sights. Tram and Metro close by too for further distances to travel. Had 2 stays at the hotel (at different times over a 10 day period) and while the first stay was very good i.e. good comfortable room, the second stay (though provided at a fairly good rate) was not as nice or as comfortable. […] Some maintanince was needed in both rooms, most notably the windows and showers. Overall a good place for a short 1 or 2 nights but would not wish to have a long stay unless faults are fixed! Hotel is old and the rooms look and feel like a college dorm room (and not a particularly nice one). The staff wasn't much help either, but that may have just been a language barrier. However with that said, I would recommend this hotel because of price and location - steps from the Danube.

The old hotel was surprisingly well maintained and modern inside. The staff was always considerate and very helpful. Traffic noise was a problem on a hot summer night, but we chose the location for convenience, so no complaints. All in all, a very decent place to stay.

My friend and I enjoyed staying at the Matyas Hotel and being near the Elizabeth bridge made it central to many highlights as well as on the door step of Vaci utca being the liveliest shopping street. I can strongly reccomend this Hotel.

"Great value, great location"
The hotel is close to the metro station, a bakery, and a supermarket (maybe around 100 m?). Very convenient. Short walk from the Great Market Hall, and not far from tourist sites. There is a computer in the lobby (slow, but free interenet connection). We arrived at 9am, earlier than check-in time, but were able to settle into our room, which was really […] great. Mehr

The staff at this hotel was very helpful and a pleasure to speak with. Unfortunately the rooms were not the best, the biggest complaint was the mold in the bathroom, as I am allergic to mold. Other than that the stay was pleasant and the location could not have been better. The staff are friendly. The location is superb. If driving, you need a GPS to get to it as the location is tricky. We had a room facing the inside-court, which was fine except that the window would only open a few inches. This meant the room was pretty warm in the afternoons.

Location is great. Right in pest with a view of the river and the sights of Buda. Right across the street from a metro stop of the blue line that takes you every where in Budapest. Breakfast is expensive so just go to the market down the street called Match and buy food there for cheap. Hotel has an internet terminal for people to use who don't have […] their own computer. One thing I disliked is that the room is quite big but the bathroom is terribly small. The shower area is too small for an adult of average size. Beware of crooks right outside the hotel posing as tourists walking around with maps in their hand. 2 teenage girls were walking behind me posing as tourists and one of them tried to unzip my bag pack and stuck her hand in there. Luckily I felt it and I turned around and they took off. They are not dangerous, but really sneaky. Mehr

I was more than satisfied with my stay at the Matyas hotel. The location is perfect. The room was clean and spacious. I found it very charming that the rooms are accessed through galleries of an internal courtyard of an old building. Although the room didn't have a nice view because it was facing the yard, it was much quieter than the ones facing the […] street. Which in the end isn't that important, because if you're in Budapest the last thing you'll want to do is sit in your room. I just wish that there was Wi-Fi in the rooms too and not only in the reception area. The staff though was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

The Matyas Hotel was a pleasant hotel that we would return to if in Budapest again. The receptionists went out of their way to be helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the hotel was in an excellent location (near the pedestrian mall, very close to the old city of Buda across the Danube). The exterior of the building itself is a work of art. The […] elevator was somewhat small but much larger than what we have found in Paris and other parts of Europe. The only negative points were that the initial entrance into the building needs to be restored to reflect the original beauty and needs better lighting, and the shower needed slight attention--one door was shaky and there was a little mildew. Over-all this is a pretty great location for the price. I stayed for 5 days and while I didn't have any major issues with the service other than the people who service the rooms seem to think that two people in one room only need 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for a day an a half. No, please leave a spare roll especially when the one on the rack isn't a […] full roll. Anyway, all the previous reviews are correct. Yes it's kind of hidden, yes the halls are dark because of the energy saving lights that turn off, yes the place appears to be run down condos with the hotel on one or two floors. However, it's cheap, it's in an excellent location central to the touristy areas and it's 1/2 a block from a metro stop. The room was pretty clean and it had a cheap fridge. The air conditioning doesn't work well but luckily it was cool enough to just open the windows. Over-all if you're looking for a cheap place to stay in the center of things and just want a place to crash this place is great. The only other issue I had was that at the time the site mentioned free breakfast and they said it wasn't included and wanted to charge me approximately 7 Euros daily each for me and my partner to have breakfast, which is way over priced. So we just ended up eating breakfast out at the local bakeries for much less than that. Mehr

"Matyas Hotel - a really good bargain"
I would very much recommend this hotel. The inside of the building gives a real sense of the period in which it was built, albeit the communal staircase could do with some decorating. The room was surprisingly spacious with high ceilings, very clean and an all round comfortable space. The location is absolutely fantastic; it is about 5 metres from the […] Pest side of Elizabeth Bridge allowing you to walk to more or less every attraction in the city. Being spread around in different building spaces, the hotel layout could be confusing at first to some people, but this same attribute would make it unusual and interesting for others. Excellent location and friendly staff, that's about it for the positives. The room was quite small and cramped, no AC so was uncomfortably hot all day. Extremely noisy due to all the banging doors made it hard to sleep. The breakfast was poor, not much choice if you didn't eat meat, also no toast!

Don't let you first view of the seedy entry prevent you from staying here. The staff is helpful and courteous, the room is certainly adequate, and the breakfast buffet is fine. Another possible turn-off is the dinky elevator (for two only). Best thing about the hotel is it's location. Three stars is pushing it a bit, but all in all, not bad.

This hotel was recommended by a friend who loves the shopping convenience. I agree that the location is great, but we arrived and found maybe 20 stairs to the lobby, then more stairs to get to the room. They don't provide assistance, yet have a 2 person elevator. You must then go through a couple more doors and down a hallway to the rooms. At night, […] the lighting is terrible and the entry was poorly or not lighted (automatic lighting sometimes works). Hotellet la veldig bra og sentralt til i enden av Elisabeth broen på Pest siden og like ved Vaci Utca. Veldig greit å komme rundt i byen, og vi tok kveldsturer opp på Gellert høyden hver kveld Hotellet var sjarmerende og hyggelig med helt greie rom. Badet var rent og med nok varmt vann.
