It's a case of "you get what you pay for!" The radiator works great but when it gets to the right temp, it shuts off and we had to learn from the front desk person how to reset it using a floor switch. They had gone through reconstruction but the room is very dated and was quite depressing. I would not recommend it unless you want something near the […] highway, cheap and you're just staying for a few days or less. On a good note, there was room WIFI and a small refrigerator. Mehr

The check in clerk was very nice, we needed to go to the airport the next day she gave us directions and helped us out. Thank god we only had to stay one night though. Construction was going on until 11 at night or so we had to wake up for 3am, so we didn't enjoy this at all. Our room was raggedy, towel rack fell down, lights need cleaning, awful coffee […] in room. It was a place to lay our heads for the night but we will not be staying there again. Mehr

It is the perfect hotel if you don t want to spend much money on a room, it was clean, the staff was very friendly and best of all it is right across from the Olive Garden...Will go back for sure.

Old and not convenient. Saturday night, young people ad a party till 4 and nobody done something about it.

We found that the people who work there are very accomidating and switched us from the first room we were given as we were not satisfied with it , to another immediately. We found that we needed to stay an extra night and they made that possible. The free breakfast in very good. Check out at 11:00 is a treat. The rate was very acceptable.

The first room we checked into was like it hadn't been updated since 1967. It was not clean, the beds were old and the bathroom was old and had mold on it. To their credit, when we complained, they switched us to an updated room, though they tried to convince us that the bathroom was stained, rather than moldy. It was moldy. The updated room was nice, […] but the old room soured our experience with this. For the price, it was a very average room, and not worth the price we paid. My advice is to avoid the Rodeway Inn. For the money paid, this hotel was a poor deal. Perhaps the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We would not stay here again. Disappointing.

this is probably the worst hotel I have stayed at. The beds were very uncomfortable, I woke up with a bad backache. The room was musty and the ceiling had water stains. I do not feel it was worth the money we paid for it. I will definitely not be staying here ever again.

Our overall impression was not favorable. Given the price and the alternatives the room was less than adequate. It needed to be refreshed, new paint job, new curtains, new beds and generally brought up to date. The breakfast was acceptable and neatly appointed. the location is good the staff is friendly. the TV is not working the light system has a problem.

The Roadway Inn in South Burlington was conveniently located for us, since we had to make several trips to the airport. The traffic was surprisingly heavy. [Great restaurant nearby, though: Pulcinella.] The breakfast was good. My main complaint is that the windows were filthy - maybe bc they are renovating.

The pool was clean and very refreshing especially with all the humidity! They were just finishing painting the outside so all in all it looked like a nice place. The room had peeling wallpaper, tons of ants and carpet that I would never put my bare feet on! However the location was nice, liquor store and several restaurants nearby and a short drive […] into Burlington. So it depends on what your looking for-budget or a nice place to rest- Mehr

If I had to sum up this hotel in one word it would be this: Functional. It got the job done, but wasn't especially enthusiastic about it. First off, the thing that bugs me the most: The rate we paid for this hotel seemed pretty high, considering that the rate she had on the paper in front of her at time of check-in was $20 lower. However, we know the […] area very well and liked the central location, although Route 7 can be pretty noisy with trucks. I guess it's all a trade-off. The pool was nice enough - not very large, but it seemed clean. The room itself was okay; the beds were rock-hard, but they were clean too. They only gave us 4 pillows for two double-sized beds (there were four of us - two adults and two kids), and they were fairly thin; there was only the one rather rough blanket per bed, which wouldn't have cut it in the winter. The entire room seemed to be straight out of the 80's, and it didn't have a feeling of clean that some hotel rooms have, but it wasn't filthy either. They only seemed to have 10 channels on the TV (and two or three of them were Indian channels - I don't mind, but it would have been nice to have at least PBS or a movie channel as well). We didn't use the shower (it wasn't very clean) but the A/C did seem to work. The continental breakfast was odd - only 2% milk, no orange juice, no fruit or yogurt (just mini-muffins and toast), but for some weird reason they did have waffles (?). It saved us some cash, but I would have really liked a few more options. The dining room itself was smaller but did the job. The lobby (such as it is) had an odd smell to it and seemed like it could have used an overhaul (or at least a few more feet - it's pretty small). The staff seemed friendly enough, but I can't comment on how they responded to problems as I didn't bring any up to them. the rooms were clean and tidy but didnt feel safe where our room was breakfast area needed a complete revamp floors and tables and chairs all needed throwing away and replaceing would not stay there again

This Hotel was dirty, really very dirty . The carpets were torn. The room smelled terrific. There were plenty of stains on walls and doors so that you did not like to touch the door handle. I have also some pictures, unfortunately it is not possible to show them here. I could not even mention one positive point about this hotel and wonder how a hotel […] like this can have business in US. Even the price was unbelievable high comparing to the hotel condition. We had to stay there because we did not have time to find another one. I would never ever again choose a Rodeway hotel. The coffee maker and refrigerator were in the same place which was supposed to be the wardrobe. If your shirt was longer than 2,5 feet it would end up in the coffee maker! The windows did not have a screen, so you had the choice between bad smell or having your room full of mosquitoes. The dirty cabinets in breakfast room were disgusting and spoiled the appetite. The staff was not even interested about knowing anything regarding the guest's feedback. Mehr

Don't stay here. Really, really, REALLY run down. Thread bare linens, dirty walls, worn carpets. Dated colors, dated bathrooms, old formica countertops. I would have left except we were in Burlington on a busy weekend.....no other options. And that's what I would say....last resort...don't go here unless absolutely no other choice.

Terrible place to stay, rundown, and dirty

The hotel seemed high class very clean. Right next to all the sights in Burlington and Fletcher Allen hospital.

You only get what you pay for. However, I have paid less and recieved a room in far better shape than this one.

Rodeway Inn was quiet, easy to find, and overall an excellent value. Continental breakfast was included (waffles were great), a wake-up call was programmed by the front desk clerk through the computer, TV, fridge, microwave and coffeemaker w/ complimentary coffee & cups were in room. The desk clerk gave excellent directions to hotel and I recommend […] calling before leaving to destination. An easy commute (2-3 minutes) to Champlain College or the University of Vermont or Lake Champlain. Also, the Olive Garden Restaurant was just a walk across the street as was Burger King which by the way is open late. I had a great time in Vermont and hotels.com made the reservation process quick, easy and affordable. Mehr

If you are looking for cheap, basic accommodations, this should suffice. The bathroom was tiny, with the sink actually in an alcove in the room itself. It was clean, though it did have the faint aroma of cigarette smoke (in a non-smoking room) it was not overpowering. The cable was classic northern Vermont with 24 channels of nothing ...and then there […] was the 4 Pakistani channels! The walls were pretty thin and with only 7-8 cars in the parking lot, they seemed to have put everyone in the same part of the hotel. While sitting up in bed, the person in the room behind me bumped the wall and moved me. Just like when there is a kid behind you on an airplane. However, like I said, if your only standard is a cheap place to stay and you can tolerate the other stuff, this will do. Mehr

Definately a tired hotel but it is clean and the staff friendly. The sink leaked and we had to put a trash can under it to catch the water. It is a clean place to rest your head. You get what you pay for.

very good quality/price

The night clerk at this hotel provided me with great customer service in not only accomodating a special request with my room but also in assisting me with directions to a local establishment that saved me a great deal of time in meeting up with freinds. The room itself was clean however I feel that the electrical outlet that the room frindge, coffee […] maker, and lamp was insufficient and an electrical hazzard that could cause a fire and so I unplugged some appliances and informed the clerk who expressed sincere concern. If I ever return to this hotel again and find similar conditions, I would not hesitate to contact the local code inforcement office in Burlington and would request a full refund to find a different hotel. Other then this problem, the room was comfortable and clean. Mehr

Since what I do most in motel rooms when I travel and especially when visiting family is sleep and watch a little tv this hotel totally filled the bill for about 1/2 the bill other hotels were charging.

Not a lot of frills but a clean place and reasonable price.

I needed a place that was convenient to downtown Burilington, clean, safe, and priced well, and the Rodeway met all the criteria. It's owner-operated and I had a very pleasant chat with one of the partners, who was very friendly and helpful. This is NOT the Four Seasons, so set expectations accordingly, but at a price that was almost 40% LESS than the […] bigger chains, it was a great value. The shower was clean, with plenty of hot water, the heater in the room functioned appropriately, etc. No complaints Mehr

The hotel employee was very friendly and the room was clean. The problems had to do with the lack of snow plowing and heat in the room. The bathroom has no heat at all and with the tile floor it was freezing. Kept the heater on 80 for the night and when we woke-up in the morning the room as ok. Not too hot but not freezing either. A good hotel for a very reasonable rate. Very easy to get to from the airport. Clean room and friendly staff.

This is a standard Rodeway Inn motel. Some reviews made me apprehensive about staying in this hotel. For the rate I found this motel more than suitable. The bed was comfortable, the location noise was acceptable and the bathroom was clean. Sure this location needs some maintenance, and a coat of paint, but for the price it is fine to stop over for an […] early morning flight. I would not book this for an extended stay in the area.
