Wir hatten eine Traumblick über den zugefrorenen kleinen See in Keystone. Nach dem Skilaufen konnte man den Eisläufern oder den Eishockeyspielern zusehen. Da es aber in diesem BEreich des Keystone Resorts auch andere Häuser gibt, muss dies nicht immer so sein. Das Haus "Willows" war in den öffentlichen Bereichen in die Jahre gekommen, die uns zugewiesene Wohnung war aber perfekt in Schuss, hervorragend ausgetattet und gepflegt. Zum Einkaufen benötigt man einen Mietwagen, auch um die anderen Skigebiete in Colorado zu erreichen.

Das Alpine Inn ist für amerikanischen Standard ein extrem sauberes Hotel. Es liegt mitten im Skigebiet und für uns sehr gut erreichbar direkt an der Autobahn I70. Ein Super-Outlet ist wenige Meilen entfernt. Das Personal war sehr umgänglich, die Wellness-Einrichtungen hätte man uns z.B. auch noch außerhalb der angegebenen Zeiten zur Verfügung gestellt. Lediglich das Frühstück war minimal, aber auch das kennt man ja von den amerikanischen Hotels.
Lage
Austria Haus Hotel in Vail ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für folgende Winteraktivitäten: Abfahrtslauf und Snowboarden. Betty Ford Alpine Gardens und Skigebiet Vail befinden sich ebenfalls in der Nähe. Auch Gerald Ford Ampitheatre befindet sich in der Nähe.

"Great Stay in Vail"
I was in Vail for a work conference and some skiing. The Austria Haus was conveniently located within Vail Village, just a short walk to the slopes. The room was very comfortable, although we had a little trouble regulating the temperature (the gas fireplace heated up the room fast!). The staff was very helpful and courteous. The only downside was […] the resort fee which I was not aware of when I booked the room (it was probably listed somewhere, but other hotels made it much more obvious). I think it should be listed along with the price of the hotel, not in small print at the bottom. Makes it harder to compare hotel rates. Definitely recommend the hotel though and hope to be back! We stayed here to watch the US Pro Cycling Challenge Tour of Colorado. The start line was just down the road from the hotel which was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Really convenient to all amenities in the town, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This was our 3rd stay at the Austria Haus and the staff never fails to make our visits anything less than perfect. It's in a great location in Vail and the service and room are always outstanding.

This is a four-star hotel with outstanding service. The location is incredibly convenient in Vail Village. The hotel includes an excellent free breakfast, free wifi, and free valet parking, and is still one of the most cost-effective hotels in the area. I highly recommend staying here.

"Perfect Stay"
Hotel room was clean, nicely designed, and the bathroom was also nice. Everything about this hotel was positive - Super nice and friendly staff to great location to a nicely designed property. The location is right in Vail Village and right by the shuttle service to go anywhere. If I had one average rating it would be the breakfast. It was average. […] Alot better than many - I would give it 80% satisfaction. You wont be sorry you stayed. The property overlooks the river and has beautiful views from anywhere. The internet service was a bit bad. "Relaxing"
Perfect fall trip to Vail. Great location, convenient valet parking, short walk to main street. Wonderful staff, quiet, comfortable, and great place to relax on the deck with breakfast next to Gore Creek.
"Greatest location in vail"
Great location great rooms, nice breakfast Can walk to everything in downtown Vail right on the transportation line. Friendly staff. Beware there is a $20 resort fee.
While the hotel was pretty, we were disappointed in the service. We didn't have an iron in the room, and when we asked for one, it took 40 minutes to get there ... and then it didn't work. The thermostat didn't work at all; a light in the bathroom blew out; and when we asked for toothpaste (since we had forgotten it), they had to get it from a different […] hotel ... which took about 50 minutes. On top of that, it was supposed to be a "free" stay, but they tacked an additional $20 resort fee on at the end, which was out of our pocket. None of them alone were any big deal, but all of them together were a pain. Mehr

"Not all that it's made out to be!"
When we reserved this hotel through Hotels.com we thought we were reserving a nice king size bed room. Pictures of the Hotel's rooms looked awesome on their Website. Don't be fooled! We ended up with two extremely small beds at best, not even queen beds! They actually looked like twin beds!!!!! The only thing I would recommend is the morning breakfast, […] the Swiss guy behind the bar was very friendly. The the front desk person on the other hand wasn't. Pretty much said that's all we that was available with our booking! There are so many beautiful hotels around I would choose a different hotel next time. We were looking for somewhere special to stay over the holidays so thought we would check it out. Glad we did!! Mehr

Overall we had a very pleasant experience. Our room was comfortable even though the mattresses were a little harder than we like. There was plenty of closet space, including a good size safety box. There were two comfortable chairs in the room, besides the two double beds. They also offer rooms with a King Size bed. We had a beautiful view from our […] balcony on the fourth floor and the place was quiet. Breakfast was included and it was plentiful and delicious. We did have to pay an extra $20 fee per night, but considering the quality of the breakfast for two people, it was adequate. The fee also covers the valet parking (underground) and computer access. Staying at the Austria House is a wonderful relief from the world around us. Lying by the pool and listening to Gore Creek can take away the the problems of the world, or merely make you realize that there really is nothing worth worrying about.

Really enjoyed this small, quaint hotel in beautiful Vail. The staff was very friendly with directions and even provided umbrellas when it rained. The continental breakfast was much more elaborate than I had expected. This hotel has the perfect location and is within walking distance to all the sights. Will definitely go back here again.

We selected this hotel primarily based on its location, right in the middle of the action in Vail. However, we were really surprised we had landed at an absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff must have had their smiles painted on, as they never left their faces. The morning breakfast was extraordinary, set in a library theme. The rooms are modern (including […] a remote for the heating system), the beds super comfortable, and the bathrooms beautiful. On Sundays right outside the hotel a jazz ensemble plays from 12 to 3. Wonderful restaurants are an easy walk through the village, and the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens an easy walk as well. Austria Haus is a wonderful base from which to explore the glories of Vail. Mehr

My husband, five year old daughter and I just returned from Vail. We were able to obtain a great rate for our room so we decided to try the Austria Haus. We all loved it. it is located in a great spot in Vail Village close to everything. The hotel is cozy and charming. Our room was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. There is a complimentary […] breakfast in the morning that was great. Much more diverse than your typical breakfast and everything we tried was very tasty. good choices for my daughter as well. If I had to come up with a negative the pool is very small, but our daughter still enjoyed swimming in it, and the scenery around the pool is beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed at the Austria House Hotel in August. The hotel is very easily accessible and very convenient for exploring Vail on foot. We were warmly welcomed by reception staff, our luggage was immediately unloaded and taken to our room. The car was taken to the hotel garage by a member of staff. The room was of excellent quality, very comfortable. The […] bathroom had two sinks, a large bath and separate shower. Continental breakfast arrangements were very good, ample food and good supporting service from staff. For those that have not been before, downtown Vail is pedestrianised. This made getting to the hotel a little confusing. You are allowed to drive down for hotel access only. That aside, absolutely no complaints. The hotel is right in the center, everything is an easy stroll. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The room was spacious, very […] clean and great mountain views. The staff were helpful and courteous. They also provide a free continental style breakfast, meats and cheeses etc. There was a farmers market on Sunday. They allowed us to check out late so we could spend a couple of hours walking round. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to others and will certainly be staying there again on my next visit to Vail. Mehr

The hotel was luxurious, great amenities, great breakfast. Staff was VERY helpful, offering us tickets to local music events and helping us find the venue. Lovely, and we highly recommend it. It is right in the center of Vail, close to everything!

"Check the A/C First"
When you are checked into the room, insist that they show you how to operate the air conditioning. It uses a weird remote control. After fiddling for five minutes I gave up and called for help. By the time help arrived to tell us it was broken, we had already unpacked and decided to stay in the room. It’s cool enough at night to get by without the AC […] but the room was hot and stuffy that day. Leaving the windows open means that you get quite a bit of street noise from the transportation center across the street. Otherwise, the hotel is outstanding for the price and location. Mehr
"Wonderful experience"
This hotel is conveniently located in Vail VIllage. Everything we wanted to do or see was within walking distance or a short shuttle ride away. The Farmer's Market on Sundays is literally outside the front door! Highly recommended are Restaurant Kelly Liken, the gondola ride, and ziplining. Yes, even folks over 40 can enjoy the thrill of stepping off […] a canyon ledge and zipping to the other side. The only minus--and it is small--was that our papers had to be requested each day rather than automatically delivered as promised. However, given the concierge's helpfulness, this was truly a miniscule problem. Highly recommended for a beautiful summer stay. Mehr

This is a great choice for a long summer weekend in Vail. They have a delicious breakfast buffet, free newspaper, free wireless internet access, and large comfortable rooms. The hotel has free valet parking although they are very close to the Vail parking structure in the middle of the Vail Village side of the resort. The hotel is also close to restaurants […] and nightlife along Bridge Road. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Mehr

Austria Haus is truly an excellent find in Vail. Not only is it convenient to everything, but the rooms are excellent, the breakfast is wonderful, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. We stayed here twice this year and will stay again next time we are in Vail. We highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed my stay here. A little pricier than I usually go for but still a good deal. Fireplace in the room, self-controlled AC and heat, windows that open, very comfy bed with a choice of pillows. Really great all around. The only downside was that some of the guests were very loud as they walked down the hallway at all hours. We stayed here for 2 nights and got great rates through Hotels.com. The hotel is wonderful...very upscale at nice prices. Excellent location, very friendly staff, and wonderful rooms. The breakfast buffet is great - very similar to ones we've seen in Germany and Switzlerland. We're definitely planning on going back.
