Lage.
Das Hotel Duquesa de Cardona befindet sich in einem Gebäude aus dem sechzehnten Jahrhundert mitten im Gotischen Viertel von Barcelona, nur 100 Meter von der Las Ramblas entfernt. Viele Bars, Cafés und Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie beispielsweise das Picasso Museum, die Sagrada Familia, der Yachthafen und der Plaça de Catalunya liegen im Umkreis von einem Kilometer. Der Flughafen von Barcelona liegt mit 10 Kilometern ungefähr 15 Autominuten vom Hotel entfernt. Die nächste Metrostation ist Drassanes, wo die grüne Linie hält.
Ausstattung.
Im Restaurant La Duquesa können Gäste katalanische und internationale Gerichte sowie Weine in gemütlicher Umgebung mit originaler Einrichtung aus dem Jahr 1850 genießen. Der Raum verfügt über Säulen, hohe Deckenbögen, große Fenster, einen gefliesten Fußboden, eine moderne Einrichtung und Möbel in warmen Farbtönen. Tagsüber können die Gäste im kleinen Außenpool auf der Dachterrasse schwimmen oder einfach mit einem Drink von der Bar auf der Dachterrasse ein Sonnenbad genießen.
Es werden Entspannungsmassagen und ein 24-Stunden-Zimmerservice angeboten. Für Gäste mit Kindern gibt es einen Babysitter-Service. Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 22. Feb. 2013Für Businessreisen ist das Hotel (nahezu) perfekt. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen ist, daß das Zimmer nach fritierten Speisen roch und ich hier sehr empfindlich bin. Das Hotel liegt in nahe an der Autobahn, somit muss man Lärmbelästigung in Kauf nehmen, die Fenster sind jedoch gut isoliert. Die Anlage ist schön, Pool, gut ausgerüstete Bar mit kleinen Snacks etc. Das Frühstück ist traumhaft !!

Frühstücksraum - Dieser renovierte Raum wirkt noch wie im Jahr 1850. Zu den historischen Besonderheiten gehören eine hohe, gewölbte Decke, eine steinerne Treppe mit Eisengeländer, Stühle mit hoher Rückenlehne sowie Säulen und Fußböden aus Marmor. Aus England importierte Mosaiken im Stile des 19. Jahrhunderts zieren die Wände. Hier wird täglich das Frühstücksbuffet serviert (Aufpreis). Reservierung erforderlich.
Brisa del Mar Terrace - In den Sommermonaten werden auf der Terrasse des Brisa del Mare Tapas und Barbecues angeboten. Gäste können aus einer großen Auswahl an Cocktails wählen und den Blick auf den Hafen genießen.
Restaurant La Duquesa - Ab dem Oktober 2010 jeden Freitag und Samstag Abend Live Musik. Von Mittwochs bis Samstags geöffnet.

Informationen zum Check-in
Gäste, die ein Zimmer der Kategorie „DBL Special Cruise Room“ buchen möchten, müssen einen Aufenthalt innerhalb des Zeitraums von 15 Tagen vor der Abfahrt und 15 Tagen nach der Ankunft der Kreuzfahrt buchen. Ersteres ist der mittelalterliche Stadtkern, ein Labyrinth aus belebten Gassen, die um die prachtvolle gotische Kathedrale angeordnet sind. "Perfekte Unterkunft für Städtereise"
Schönes und solides Hotel. Unser Zimmer war ok, nichts was einem vom Hocker reißt, aber modern eingerichtet und sauber. Tageslicht gab es leider nicht wirklich, da wir ein Zimmer mit schmalem Fenster zum Innenhof hatten. Das war aber kein Problem, da wir den ganzen Tag unterwegs waren. Sehr schön ist auch die Dachterasse mit einem super Blick über den […] Hafen, Man kann dort schön sitzen oder im Pool plantschen und die Aussicht bei einem Drink genießen, der aber einen deftigen "Ausichtsaufpreis" hat. Auch für das Frühstücksbuffet muss man ordentlich zahlen, 15Euro pro Person ist für meinen Geschmack zu viel. Die Auswahl ist übersichtlich, aber alles ganz frisch. Tipp: In den Restaurants rundherum kann man günstiger frühstücken. Die Lage des Hotels ist nahezu perfekt, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind leicht zu erreichen, da nur ca 500m bis zur nächsten U-Bahn Station auf der La Rambla. Auch eine Haltstelle für die Hop-on Hop-off Busse ist in der Nähe. Zudem liegt das Hotel direkt am Gotischen Viertel mit seinen unzähligen kleinen Bars und Restaurants. "Zentral und doch Ruhig"
Das Hotel liegt am Passeig de Colom, 3 Gehminuten vom unteren Ende der Ramblas entfernt. Altstadt mit Gotischem Viertel, Kathedrale, Picasso-Museum, Hafen etc. in wenigen Minuten fußläufig zu erreichen Unbedingt zu empfehlen: Drink auf der Dachterasse mit Blick auf den Yachthafen. Wir haben das Hotel ausgesucht, weil es weder "überstylt" noch Sorte […] "hauptsache billig und zentral" war. Haben es als stilvoll und gemütlich, aber dennoch modern empfungen. Service war aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Wir sind an sich penible und kritische Gäste, hier war aber alles 100% in Ordnung. Preis/Leistung stimmt, würden das Hotel jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Tipp: an der Rezeption Restaurant empfehlen lassen, dann landet man nicht im typischen "Touri-Abfütter-Gedränge ;O) MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

REally enjoyed the hotel, we only had one night there, but the room, bathroom, roof terrace and location were superb. Plenty of restaurants in the back streets nearby or great for the waterfront. Hotel is well located and small enough to be a quiet haven from the excitement of Barcelona. Spacious and welcoming room. Very good facilities. The hotel staff were excellent. They were helpful, but not overbearing the way some staff are in higher end hotels. The staff at the reception desk communicated well in English for those guests who are not Spanish speakers. The hotel location is right across from the port. Our room overlooked the port which is also right above the fairly busy Passeig […] de Colom. Although we were right above (5th floor) this main street, it was not loud at all. The photo on the website depicts the Terrace bar perfectly. It was a great place to have a cocktail either during the day or at night. Behind the hotel is the old Barri Gotic district and across Colom is the port area. So, it's a great mix of environments where you can get breakfast at a port-side cafe and then lunch/cocktails/dinner at one (or more) of the small bar/restaurants in the Barri Gotic district. I've just returned from four nights with my ten year old daughter. Location of hotel was great - a ten minute walk to the bottom of La Rambla, and really near the Port Vell, where we tended to eat out in the evenings. Room was fine and very clean, if a little on the dark side as it overlooked a fairly gloomy courtyard. However, for the deal we got I […] wasn't expecting sea views, and in fact we spent very little time in the room during the day. "Zero view & zero daylight !"
Fab location near the port. However on check in which took 30 minutes we were told we could not use the roof top terrace/bar as there was a wedding. If we had known this when we booked - 2 weeks prior to arrival we would have changed hotel as I was looking forward to the view etc. It was rather irritating when the guy on reception told me all guests […] had been informed by email re the terrace. I know I hadn't received an email so please don't lie to me. Our room was small & had no window - just a door that lead out to a gloomy small internal yard on the 1st floor. If you opened the net curtain you were overlooked by the communal areas. This we were stuck with a small gloomy room with no natural light. The noise from the wedding party went on until the early hours. Not good. Next time I will book a hotel with a bar I can use & check the window situation better. Very disappointing. "Very nice hotel"
Very nice hotel with large bathroom..ours had 2 showers. A/c worked very good. Hotel is across the street from the bay, but is about 2-3 blocks from Ramblas. Walking down the small alleys seemed very safe and is much cooler than the main streets.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

A very comfortable, friendly hotel. Amazingly well sound proofed so a room on the road/sea side was completely quiet at night. The hotel is smart and attractive from the road, and very conveniently located, in easy walking distance of the main attractions, but away from the busiest late night haunts. Checking in was efficient and friendly, and all the receptionists spoke good English. The room was well presented, with good views from the balcony over the harbour. With the windows […] shut, there was no appreciable traffic noise except for the odd siren, and we were not disturbed by noise from other guests. The bed was very clean and comfortable, there was adequate storage, the safe and TV worked well, there were plenty of sockets for charging phones etc. Wifi was free and fast. The bathroom was clean and roomy. We reported that the basin pop-up waste tended to leak and they were pleased to be advised. Only two criticisms, the shower was not thermostatic and there was no non-slip bath mat. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice from the buffet, and very helpful waitresses. We were very impressed the moment we walked into the lobby. Most of the staff spoke english and were very helpful with directions to the local sites of intrest. It was a bit of a walk from the metro station but very easy to find. We had a room on the harbor side and the window had a secondary window that controled the noise from the street below. Hotel is very clean and very convenient. Literally a two minute walk to the base of Las Ramblas, and a manned ticket location for the Hop-on-Hop-off. We would definitely stay at this location again when in Barcelona. "I know the overall ratings are high, but....."
I really splurged for a night at this hotel for my sister and I because of all the glowing reviews. I didn't expect a large room in a city hotel, but ours was tiny. And being on the interior court of the builiding, it was also very, very dark. Given that we had to get up early in the morning to return to the US, we thought we'd be fine with that expecting […] a quiet night away from the street. Unfortunately the music from the bar on the roof-top terrace echoed down the interior shaft of the building until 3 or so in the morning (our wake-up call was for 5:30) There was also heavy bass coming from a disco or a party in the building next door, so no sleep was to be had. I was so relieved to arrive at this hotel and find that it was EXACTLY as described online- close to the metro, close to the harbor/dining and a few minutes walk from La Ramblas and other sites. The Hotel gives a really good impression at the entrance and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Our room was OK just there are signs of deterioration, dust and dirt. The proof is that I sneeze and cough every time I was inside the room. Our bed was extremely hard. Me and my partner couldn't sleep without noticing it. The best part was the terrace, […] great ambience, view and service. The restaurant and the breakfast was delicious. Location is near everything. The hotel was ideally located for us. We like the old city center and quickly found a great pastry shop near the St Mercy Church nearby for breakfast. The standard tourist areas are nearby like La Rambla, Cathedral, and the many shops in the Gothic Quarter. We also liked going over to El Born that was more local in flavor. We even walked to the Gaudi […] Basilica. Beyond that I recommend a taxi. The beach is a 20 min walk. The Hotel itself was quiet and a nice retreat from activities during the day. We didn't eat at the hotel - found it expensive but there is a nice view of the port from the 6th floor terrace. There is a small pool also on the 6th floor - about right for one family at a time.
