Das Hotel war super, nur ein paar Stationen bis zur Oxford Circus und dem erstaunlichen Westfield Shopping Center auf der anderen Straßenseite. Große Zimmer mit hervorragender Ausstattung, vor allem sehr ruhig. Das Personal war unglaublich hilfsbereit. Das Hotel hat alles, was man für einen City-Trip nach London braucht. Frühstück nahmen wir nicht in Anspruch, dafür gab es alles nah in der Umgebung. Für Selbstversorger bestens geeignet.

Jahrhunderts, liegt direkt an der Themse und ist bekannt für seine innovative Architektur, darunter der fünfzigstöckige Wolkenkratzer in Form eines Obelisken mit der Adresse One Canada Square. Das Hotel lieg bestens wenn man im ExcelCenter zu tun hat. Es kann zu Fuß in 5min erreicht werden. Frühstücken kann man besser im ExcelCenter, dort gibt es eine größerer Auswahl bzw. auch teilweise bessere Preise. Die Anbindung mit S-/U-Bahn in die Innenstadt ist perfekt, da Haltestelle direkt vor dem Hotel liegt. Vom/zum London City Airport sind es […] mit dem Taxi ca. 10min. (kostet um die 7 Pfund) Auf die Frage beim Auschecken ob man denn den Safe benutzt hat, sollte man besser mit nein antworten, sonst kommen noch mal 2 Pfund pro Tag Safenutzung dazu. Ich hatte erwartet, dass das inklusive ist. Habe keinen Hinweis, dass es Geldkostet, gesehen. Mehr

Wer mit dem Eurostar anreist bzw. auch wieder abreisen will, hat einen doch recht weiten Weg zum Bhf. Pancras international. Wir mussten z.B. morgens früh mit dem Nachtbus um 4.00 Uhr losfaahren, um pünktlich zum einchecken am Bhf. zu sein. Ansonsten kammt man tagtäglich ganz gut in die Stadt. Mit der DLR - wenn sie denn fährt, was gerade an dem Wochenende, […] als wir dort waren wg. Bauarbeiten leider nicht der Fall war. Aber es ging dann doch noch ganz gut mit dem Bus und det tube. Mehr

Sehr einfaches Hotel mit sehr eigenwilliger Sanitärinstallation (getrennte Toilettenkabine und Duschkabine alles aus Vollplastik, sowie Waschbecken in der Ecke des Zimmers). Lage direkt gegenüber der DLR Station. Fahrtzeit bis Stadtmitte ca. 30 Minuten. Sauberkeit o.k., Personal freundlich. Zum Übernachten vollkommen ausreichend.

ein preisgünstiger und sehr ordentliches Hotel, die Zimmer etwas klein, aber sehr sauber, sehr gut der Service mit Tee, Kaffee und Keksen auf dem Zimmer, zwar etwas vom Zentrum entfernt, aber gute Lage an der DLR, empfehlenswert der Spaziergang über die Fußgängerbrücke am Victoria-Dock, guter Ausblick und gutes Pub am anderen Ende.
"Sehr gutes Hotel in Stadtnähe"
Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe der DLR (Docklands Railway),die alle 10 Minuten in Ricthtung Innenstadt fährt und bis dorthin 15Min benötigt. Die O2-Arena ist 2 Statrionen mit der DLR und dann noch 1 Station mit der U-Bahn entfernt. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Essen ordentlich. Sogar der direkt im Hotel […] befindliche Pub lädt zu abendlichem leckeren Essen und trinken ein. Zu bemängeln ist, dass man ab 23:00 Uhr auf sich allein gestellt ist, da es ab dann nichts mehr zu trinken und zu essen gibt. (Liegt natürlich nicht am Hotel, ist aber ärgerlich!) Mehr

Das Hotel war sehr sauber, die Zimmer sehr komfortabel und das Personal sehr freundlich. Die uBahn ist genau vor der Haustüre. Nur die Dusche war ein wenig komisch so ganz ohne Abtrennung zum Rest des Bades und das Frühstück sehr übersichtlich. Da London aber sehr teuer ist, zahlt sich das Buffet trotzdem auf jeden Fall aus! "Ruhige Lage des Custom House"
Wir waren mit dem Service und der Lage des Hotels sehr zufrieden. Das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Anbindung mit der Underground ist sehr gut.Das Bad ist zwar klein aber dafür sind die Zimmer geräumig.Für uns war es perfekt.
Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Bahnstation Cosum vor Excel und das Zentrum von London ist in 15 Min erreichbar. Sehr ruhige Lage. Das Prei-Leistungsverhältniss stimmt. Auch das Frühstück war prima. Es hat uns sehr gefallen, und wir würden dieses Hotel auch ein anders mal wieder buchen

"Custom House Hotel"
Wir landeten am flughafen Gatwich, was nicht gerade der ideale landeplatz war, da er knapp 40 km vom hotel entfernt ist. Am besten ist es wenn man den flughafen 'London airport' wählt, der ist nur wenige km vom hotel entfernt. Jedoch ist es kein problem vom flughafen Gatwich ins customer house hotel zu gelangen, man muss einfach mit ca. 2 stunden reise […] rechnen. Mit der DLR bahn gelangt man perfekt bis vors Hotel. Dort konnten wir sofort beim 24stunden Check-in einchecken und wurden in unser zimmer gebracht. Das Zimmer war zwar nicht wie gewünscht ein Raucherzimmer, ansonsten war alles perfekt. Es war sehr hygienisch, sauber und bequem, auch ein bischen klein, aber zum nur darin schlafen war es wunderbar. In die Londoner Innenstadt (oxford street, Madamme tussant usw.) hat man etwa 30 bis 45 min. jenachdem wo man genau hinwill. Die Zeit vergeht jedoch wie im fluge, da man unterwegs auch sehr viel zu sehen bekommt. Fazit: Das Hotel ist sehr komfort, sauber, und nicht weit von den wichtigsten sehenswürdigkeiten entfernt. Es ist günstig, das restaurant im Hotel (asiatisch) ist auch nicht teuer und die Angestellten sind alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mehr

"Too expensive, poor restaurant"
Apparently I was in a superior twin room. I found it decidedly ordinary. The bathroom is one of those strange French pods: hardly room to move, floor gets soaking wet. The food in the 'pub' restaurant was dire. The first night I had prawn and linguine that left me nauseous all night. The second night I had the steak. It was tasteless and accompanied […] by a handful of frozen oven chips. This was definitely not worth £20. The chocolate souffle was described as being delicious, hot, with a liquid chocolate centre. It was just poorly microwaved supermarket pudding. If you are going to EXCEL for something, stay one night but eat somewhere else. Mehr

In an area undergoing a lot of road work etc with the upcoming Olympics but you cant hear anything from inside your room. Clean rooms, basic though, 2 beds, desk and a wardrobe (with a safe in surprisingly). We were in an air conditioned room which they charge £10 more for, yet the air con didnt work, so pointless really. Staff helpful on check in about […] how to get to the O2 (the DLR station is literally just out the front doors of the hotel so extremely close!). Would only ever stay here of visiting the O2 again. Very noisy hotel both surrounding area and cleaners bashing your door with the Hoover first thing on the morning!! Staff not polite at all and just going through the motions. Ok for a bed for the night but expect nothing else!!

I have stayed at this hotel for 3 years running now, yes the bathrooms are a little quirky and yes there is not a lot of sound proofing in the room but the restaurants are good, the bar is good, the rooms are clean, the staff are nice'ish and it's a 3 minute covered walk to the Excel. Take some earplugs and have a nice stay.

Booked late and wondered what we would get being so close to a DLR station and the Excel Centre but very good indeed. As good as any budget hotel, great Chinese with late opening, staff plesant, room decent. Only drawback was some banging of doors closing early morning (we had a lie-in). My stay at the Custom House Hotel was comfortable and convenient. The room was average but then I got it for a very good price so i wasn't expecting anything amazing. On first sight of my room i was taken a back by the separate shower and toilet that looked a bit dated and the wash basin next to the window...but like i said it was an average room for […] a budget price. When I paid the overnight rate for this room I was expecting it to be relatively modern, clean and comfortable as noted in the description. When I arrived I was greeted by staff who could barely speak english, the room had to be recleaned as there were hairs all over the bathroom floor, and the bedding was incredibly uncomfortable. This hotel's main positive is its location, opposite the DLR station, which makes access very easy from the Rail network and City Airport. The facilities and rooms are OK, although nothing special. I was very disappointed to find that the WiFi in the hotel was not free and was actually quite expensive. I didn't use it on principle! Great hotel which is right next to the dlr line which is just 2 stops to the underground into central London! Would definitely recommend! Only negative is the caravan style, moulded plastic and quite small bathroom.

Online pictures are deceiving. Rooms exceedingly small and difficult to manuever in. Tiny prefab shower. This is a rehab of an older property. Elevator can be very remote from your room--over 200 ft. It's in a kind of run down area. It took a while to get there, but it's right by the DLR train stop. The hotel looks kinda shady and the decor is a hodge podge of different styles. This hotel is perfect if you want to quickly rest your head before an early departure moving onto somewhere else the next day. It is located near London city airport (£6 in a taxi) and there is a train station across the road. The rooms are very small and the toilet and shower are like cupboards with a sink in one end of the room. The rooms are clean […] so perfect for a short stay. The hotel was clean, modern and value for money. It is very well situated for Excel and docklands but a long way out from central London and the majority of places of interest. When booking I didn't appreciate the travelling involved to get the west end. We arrived on Friday for two days and sadly there was considerable disruption to the tube service […] over the weekend with many services cancelled due to maintenance which made travelling more difficult. Paid lots of money to stay here and was incredibly dissapointed which the standard of accomodation in terms of cleanliness, facilities etc. I will not be recommending anyone to stay here in the future.

Extremely conveniently located if you are visiting ExCel in business. Room clean and tidy, and quiet, with all mod cons. Bathroom a bit on the small side with a narrow shower cubicle, but perfectly adequate for purpose. The hotel has a pub/restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. This was a very nice surprise. It was priced very reasonably. The hotel appearance was good and the room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has a nice cafe, internet access in your room with your own laptop or in the lobby using their computers. There is also a very nice bar and restaurant located off of the lobby. The DLR station is right across […] the street. There is also a nice area right across the train line with restaurants, pubs and shops next to the ExCel center. There is a park and a large dockland waterway. The downside to this location is that it is a long DLR or tube trip to the center of London and many of its attractions. The hotel is in a busy area and its own car park fills up quite quickly. We enjoyed our stay and the receptionist was considerate of the needs of our elderly friend. The hotel was very close to the ExCel exhibition centre as well as the O2 arena and the hotel entrance is opposite the DLR station.
