Das Hotel entsprach voll unseren Erwartungen. Wir hatten die kleinste Zimmerkategorie. Aber was für amerikanische Verhältniss vielleicht klein ist, sieht im Vergleich mit Hotelzimmern in London oder Paris riesig aus. Für uns war es vollkommen ausreichend. Wir waren im 8. Stock, hatten einen tollen Ausblick auf Downtown L.A. und die Dusche mitten im […] Zimmer nur mit einer Glasscheibe getrennt, hat viel Spaß gemacht. Die Dachterasse mit Pool war ein echtes Erlebnis. Die Getränke an der Bar waren mittelmäßig bis gut, das Essen im Restaurant war okay, aber nichts besonderes. Prinzipiell hat aber das Design und die Atmosphäre in allen Bereichen überzeugt. Downtown L.A. hat sich sehr entwickelt, ist aber immer noch eher auf das tägliche Businesspublikum ausgerichtet, so dass abends tatsächlich nur die Hotelbars und -restaurants fürs Vergnügen sorgen. Für unseren Kurzaufenthalt ohne Auto war das vollkommen okay. Das Metrosystem ist viel besser als sein Ruf und die Haltestelle direkt vor der Tür. Allerdings würde ich für längere Aufenthalte immer ein Auto empfehlen, damit man auch die anderen Stadtteile bei Nacht gut erreichen kann und etwas Abwechslung erhält. Mehr

Als End-Punkt meiner Reise wählte ich das Standard in Downtown LA; Hauptsächlich wg. der Nähe zum Memorial Coliseum (da fand ein Konzert statt!). Das Hotel an sich ist sehr gut; Designer-Hotel (hatte noch nie ein Zimmer, bei dem man vom Bett in die Dusche schauen kann, da diese vollkommen offen im Raum ist). Service/Sauberkeit etc. einwandfrei. Valet-Parking […] kostet 30 USD/Tag. Dach mit Pool und Poolbar (naja, da trafen sich dann die "Schönen" und "Coolen" zu Disco-Musik; war nicht so mein Fall, aber wers mag). Die Umgebung und Lage: Naja, das ist nur subjektiv bewertbar. Downtown ist nicht der Brüller. Ums Eck ein paar Restaurants; aber man kann problemlos zu Fuß zu den einzelnen Sehenswürdigkeiten Downtowns laufen und da gibts schon a bisserl was zu sehen. Das Hotel hat eine super Lage für ein paar Tage L.A. Wir waren drei Nächte dort und einfach nur begeistert. Beste Lage, da in Downtown und Nähe zum Highway. U-Bahn ist in 5min fussläufig erreichbar. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, groß und stilvoll eingerichtet. Das Hotel im Restaurant hat auch ein Top-Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Grosse Zimmer, hohe decken, eher für kurztrip zu empfehlen, Auto ist von grossem Vorteil!! Hat jedoch eine wunderschöne Dachterassenbar!

Sehr gut gelegen mit trendiger Bar mit Super Aussicht auf die umliegenden Wolkenkratzer. Mit der Sauberkeit hat man es an diesem Tag nicht so genau genommen, vor allem in den Gängen. Der Lärm von der Strasse wird durch die Fenster nicht gut gedämmt.

Great trendy hotel, very posh and comfortable at the same time. Parking can be a bit of a tricky spot, but plenty of places to lounge around and have a drink and its surrounded by a few good eateries. Great staff. Very satisfied. Price is a bit much, but then again, its Downtown LA.

Brilliant reception staff, nothing was too much trouble. My only issue was the lighting in our room - very dim. Possibly a strip light over the long mirror needed? Restaurant food delicious and reasonably priced. Very handy to metro station.

A bit modern/hip/trendy/weird...but I like it. It's a great location downtown with lots of restaurants and things to do nearby. The rooftop bar was awesome, great view of the city. The rooms were nice, clean, love the platform beds. However, in our room there was no option to have privacy in the shower. There was a curtain so you couldn't see the toilet […] from the bed but there was no way to not see someone if they were showering. Other rooms had a curtain for the shower and a separate room for the toilet but this could be an issue for someone. Overall, we would stay there again and recommend it but would give people a heads up. Mehr

for a high end hotel, no tubs in the rooms, charged to use the "business center", not a good business practice.

Bad room, dirty sheets & worst of all, room smelled like damp urine!!!

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The staff was excellent, room was clean very nice.

The bed in the rooms is too soft, almost feels like a "hamaca". The valet parking is too expensive, over $30 per day!!!

Although the room was not much more than a cheeky dorm room, the rooftop lounge, bar and pool is not to be missed. Try to find a rate bargain then don your suit and head to the roof!

room not great. needs modern chair. bathroom layout very disfunctional, no place for toiletries, no towel racks. Roof top bar uses plastic cups for expenive cocktails, not great. Staff was friendly, helpful. Coffee is resturant is great. If you want modern and functional, go elsewhere.

Excellent hotel!! Had a very pleasant stay. Rooms are very well decorated, very nice staff, and awesome facilities!! Thanks a million!! Keep up the great service!

The hotel is nice. And it's located near some really good bars and restaurants. And the metro station is like half a block away. My gripe isn't that the hotel was bad. Because it was a nice hotel. It's that we got rooms so we can get guaranteed access to the roof top lounge. Which, judging by how hard it is to get in, we thought would be amazing. It […] wasn't. The music was awful: I get that the DJ was trying to take us on a nostalgic ride. And maybe he was catering to the older Europeans that were patrons of the hotel. Or maybe he was just clueless. I don't know. I was so bored I couldn't even drink. The lounge was at half capacity, and there was not that many women. And there were ALOT of men. We've stood in that line before (on another occasion) only to be turned away. We thought, man this place must be that good if they can turn people away. And they must have hella girls. I really wish this were the case. The few women that were there, had several guys already rapping to them. And well, the place was filled with couples of all sorts. We went to the bar. I felt it was a bit pricey. But its GNO who cares right? I'll get back to this later. The pool was cloudy. I was hoping to take a dip but I was dissuaded by the density of the water. Saw a little girl swimming in it. I hope she doesn't develop super powers. But I tell you what, The view is sexy. I took pictures. Super nice. Nearby there was a Beer Garden. It was actually really nice. It had that beer festival feel to it: you had to buy tickets at eight bucks a pop. Each item was one ticket. 2 beers and a bratwurst were 3 tickets which was twenty four smackers. Kind of steep (add tip and its like... dang). But is a better value than drinking at the pool bar. Where I paid eight bucks for a stella on draft that was served in a 14 oz plastic cup. The beer garden gave you a 20 oz glass of your choice of licher hef, pilsner or IPA. Which were pretty tasty. This is an old hotel where they have made superficial changes to make it seem modern. The bathroom was old, and felt dirty. The toilet did not work, and the shower dripped all night. Even after I reported the bathroom problems, they were not fixed, and I was unable to sleep. every time the water ran it smelled lie sewer. i mentioned this to the hotel and they didnt do anything about it. the hotel is old and beat. much newer and better hotels around the surroundings for cheaper.

My recent trip at the Standard at DTLA was truly exceptional. I'll admit, I was a little wary of what the scene and the service there would be like after reading some of the reviews, but luckily all of the staff that I encountered were amazing! From the valets to the concierge, to the rooftop bartender--everyone had a refreshing upbeat personality and […] were incredibly accommodating. The roof was phenomenal--day and night!!! The location of the hotel was prime, neighboring tons of trendy bars and restaurants. My boyfriend and I stayed in the medium size room, and there was plenty of space even when our friends came to visit at night. Overall, loved staying here. Will definitely stay here again!! Have stayed here a few times, and it still annoys me that despite being a hotel guest, I have to pay for parking. This isn't New York City, where space is super limited. I think The Standard should comp parking for hotel guests.

We had an AMAZING stay at the hotel. Came to stay one night, with an open ended night for the next day. Within one hour at the hotel decided to book the next night here. Where else could possibly be better? After 5 nights of travel,the answer was nowhere, and we came from the spas of desert hot springs. I had the rooftop pool to myself for about an […] hour at around 11 am, and it was a transcending experience . The customer service was excellent! The beir garden was really great, yummy brats, greet beer, great service. We made sure to stay away of the nightclub atmosphere after 8pm. A personal preference, but as we stayed on the 11th floor, the noise did not affect in any way, which was a concern.NO ONE acted upity in any way, which was a concern, from the valets to the bartenders up top. Awesome staff...they were friendly and very helpful....had a difficult time finding valet when I first arrived but was fine once we found it....great hotel!

I BOOKED THE HOTEL ROOM THROUGH HOTELS.COM AND WHEN I ARRIVED THE INFO WAS NOT RECEIVED AT THE STANDARD. THE HOTEL STAFF WAS NOT VERY KIND OR HELPFUL AT ALL WHEN TRYING TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. NO OTHER FAX MACHINES WERE CHECK AND SUPERVISION WAS NOT NOTIFIED. ALL I DEALT WITH WAS ATTITUDE BOTH TIMES I TRIED TO CHECK IN. Very modern looking and the rooms were awesome. We wished we had more than one night here.

Staff was professional and friendly. Great location, roof top bar and beer garden are a must visit, and room was interesting (glass plane separating it from the bedroom). Bed was soft and cozy. Modern chic hotel and great atmosphere. Drawback - people come there to party, don't come here expecting a great nights rest. We had meetings all over town for five days and the Standard was a perfect base. Only one minor hiccup...if you have difficulty standing up from low places, remember that the beds are very low. Beautiful. Km

Overall the hotel is fine. It appears that hotel is more catered to being a hangout spot than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against it, but the hotel attracts many people that are not guests and it limits the use of things to people who are ACTUALLYPAYING to stay there. The room was fine and the hotel has a minimalist theme. I prefer […] a room having extras than minimal things. The biggest issue I have is with the bathroom. The shower is has a glass wall facing the room, so there is no privacy and only a curtain separates the toilet bowl. I wasn't a fan of that if there is more than one person in the room. It was about a 15-20 min walk to the Convention Center and certainly not steps away. This is not the hotel's fault, but probaby more the State of California's is the large amount of homeless people in the area. The streets are very quiet at night and it felt a little odd even for a person from NYC. That says a lot. Mehr
