I needed a quiet room for my mom to rest in between rehearsals and a final concert. We made this clear at booking and again when we arrived at the hotel. We only needed the room for 3 hours, to rest and change for our big concert. We arrived shortly after 4:00 pm and the concrete drills didn't stop until 6. The good thing was that room service was […] good and quick. So, for the ultimate purpose of our trip...no, I would not recommend this hotel. They did not seem to understand what we needed and how short our time was to get the rest required. Mehr

We had called this hotel prior to us making reservations. We asked if there was a security deposit and the usual questions that are asked when booking. The lady was extremely rude and was reluctant to answer any of our questions needing a hotel we booked on www.hotels.com. Upon our arrivals and booking in we were told that we had to put a deposit down […] on top of our room fee a "New Years Policy". That is perfectly fine for companies to have policies on New years I understand but they did not reiterate this information to ANYONE! Had we known we would have accommodated. All in all this hotel is a joke, the lady at the front desk is rude, defensive it didn’t seem, like she cared or knew what she was saying/doing. The staff is rude, the hotel is dirty, rooms are way too small, there was a hole in our wall which we had went down to the front desk and told them. When signing out they gave us a hard time even after we came and told them as soon as we got our room. I will never go back to this hotel. Rating is a generous 1. Spend the extra 25 bucks and go to the Hilton.. you will thank me. Mehr

the hotel is old new update

I stayed at this hotel for a week while on business in Toronto. I had no idea that I was staying in a fairly bad neighborhood until I actually ventured out (and back in very quickly). The room key reader didn't work half the week so I had to get staff to let me in my room 3 nights. Tried to order a movie, it didn't work either. The internet worked 1 […] night and then the other 4 it wouldn't connect. The only positives were the staff were very nice and tried to be accomodating, which I think makes up for some of the negatives. I wasn't expecting much for the low price I paid/ night, and I got what I expected. Mehr

The key would njot open the door of the room. Cigarets smell in hall and elevator. No telephone book in the room. Restaurant o.k.

I travel frequently both work and pleasure, and generally book in well know hotel chains, that is why I chose the Travelodge. Arrived expecting a comfortable stay. Lobby was dirty, smelled, front desk said I would have to pay extra if I wanted the room 20 minutes early, I have difficulty walking so needed a room close to elevator, Was given a key and […] found the room was a quite a walk. Would not change to the one near the elevator because housecleaning said they would not clean it for us. Room smelled, floor was wet, no supplies in bathroom. When we asked for towels they said they would bring them later. Waited half hour could not wait so left for a few hours. Got back late and tired to find only two towels, no wash cloths, or hand towles. Toilet paper was almost out, never did get any more. (three women in room) A popular restarant chain is attached, can't belive the filth of that place. We could not eat there, dirty, stink, almost all the tables had not been cleaned, must have only one staff to cook, clean and serve. Bathroom had no toilet paper either, was filthy. We left and eat down the road. I hope the owners of this chain checks the quality of this hotel and I will not trust other Travelodges now unless I see the inside first. To bad this hotel spoiled travelodges reputation. Mehr

I really liked the easy access to Wonderland. I had asked for a room with a refrigerator before arriving. Ther was no refrigerator in the room I was assigned. Then confusion about finding a room with a refrigerator, keys that did not work, extra pillows that never made it to our room, more keys that did not work...too much going up and down to get things […] right. The pool and the hottub were great...no towels available. Room was not cleaned while we were there. All in all, not the best stay. Mehr

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Travelodge Hotel on Norfinch Drive and it was pretty good! The neighborhood had great amenities such as fast food, Zellers, Beer Store and gas stations. Our room was clean and so was the lobby and the pool area. Our TV had problems but we barely used it anyways cause we were busy at Wonderland for the two days. Overall […] though, I would definitly recommend this hotel! Mehr

"Travel Lodge Toronto North York: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious" Upon arriving I waited at least ten minutes for someone to check me in. Once entering the room, a strong odor of stale smoke and urine hit me in the face. I am not exaggerating when I say there are stains EVERYWERE including the walls, […] drapes, and artwork. I kept my shoes on the entire time. All four ice machines were broken, not a big deal because they only supplied us with a lid to the ice bucket - no bucket. Toilette flooded 3 times. It took over an hour for someone to respond the first time. Quicker after that. The pool was alright, but that’s it. No WIFI or fridge. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that. I am being completely truthful when I say that every square inch of the carpet in our room was stained. Upon checking out, I was hoping to buy a T-shirt proclaiming "I Survived the Travel Lodge" but none were provided. When telling an employee that we found a used bar of soap under our bed, she sighed “I can’t believe what this place is coming to”. We made some friends at the pool that shared our disgust and told similar tales of finding wrappers and a childs toy in the room when they arrived. Upon inspection the beds and linen seemed to be clean, but I didn’t pursue any further investigation as I was terrified of what I might find. I am currently in talks with Stephen King to pen a script for a horror movie enititled “Room 215” so I apologize if the Hotel is shut down for filming and or demolition. Mehr

This place looks OK at first, but at a closer look many things just seem to fall apart. On arrival the AC in our room was not working at all, and it was pretty hot. After we got a new room, the AC worked but roared like a yet engine. The rooms had this musty smell to it, probably due to the ACs that aren't really maintained (chunks of dust fell out […] of it). Also many other small things are loose, in need of repair, or not working. The beds were all right. It seems the owner does not care too much about the overall state of his place. One would expect this for a cheap motel, but not for the price range of this place. They really should work on that. Mehr

The clerk at the front desk was rude. She was not friendly at all. There were no facecloths and only 2 towels in the room. The stopper in the sink was stuck. Could not get a comfortable room temperature, was either hot or cold. This was only a one night stay.

This hotel is what you'd expect from a somewhat dated Travelodge. Staff is friendly. The hotel could use some updating; some parts of it are beginning to show some wear. But the place isn't uncomfortably dated. For the price it's not bad. The attached convenient restaurant is a Perkins (not open for dinner, at least when I was there), and that restaurant […] is what it is. Surrounding neighborhood has light industrial businesses and isn't very scenic. Mehr

The hotel was very clean with a professional staff. There was not any food or shopping within walking distance.

What a dump! The carpet in our room was badly stained. Our bathroom door had been broken open by a previous guest and someone tried to repair the door and then painted the damaged sections only. The repairs were butchered and the paint didn't match the original door. Replace the door!!!! A vent grate in the hall had at least two years worth of dirt […] and dust accumulated on it. The bed was comfortable, as were the chairs in the room, but we couldn't get past the dirty feeling of everything. I would almost expect these conditions in a low budget independant motel, but not from a hotel chain. We assumed we would get plain, no frills, clean accomodations. Well, we got the plain and we got the no frills, but they missed on the clean part. There were a couple of hand written notices taped to the walls "Please excuse our mess. We're renovating". I didn't see any renovation work going on, but this was not renovation mess. This was a few years of minimal maintenence and cleaning service. Mehr

good stay even with the reno they where doing. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Need taller housekeepers to clean top shelves of closet found someone belaclava they must had have cold ears going home

For the price, the condition was fine. I will probably wait until their renovations are completed before I stay again. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Internet in guest rooms was only available in certain rooms, of course this did not include ours. Anytime we needed the internet we had to take our laptop to the lobby. The computer available to customers came with a fee. We had to keep the curtain closed to catch/deflect the black dust-ball chunks being blown from the heater. That, or be uncomfortably […] cold for our entire stay. The beds are old! The mattresses need to be updated! The clerk checking us in would have preferred to continue her personal call. The staff did not communicate with each other well. When we asked to have a taxi reserved/prebooked for the morning, the morning clerk knew nothing of it, and it had not been done. Mehr

We arrived, and the ourside of the hotel and the lobby looked run down. We got up to the room and it was freezing. It took 3 hours for the heater in the room to get up to temperature. Perkins was nice, well kept, and clean. The employees were friendly and helpfull.

Check in staff was rude, rooms not very clean, beds are old, matress pad did not fit the bed, pulled matress back and found all kind of garbage and hair at the head of the bed, fridge was on top of the luggage rack, had to unplug the lamp to plug the fridge in.

The hotel, I felt was not in the best condition. The floors were dirty and the carpet had stains. Our room had a "dirty shoe" smell which finally went away after a couple hours with the window open. The kids did enjoy the pool area but...when we wanted a towel it was impossible to get one. example: One night at 7pm I called the front desk for replacement […] towels. I was told if I wanted some I had to come down to the front desk myself to get them. I was only given 2 and I required 4. I asked to be called when 2 more towels were available. No calls happened that night. It was not until the next morning that 2 towels were available. And again, I had to get them myself. When I return to the Toronto area I will not return to this travellodge! Mehr

the location was as stated, only inconvinience was that going downtown always took at least 40 minutes to an hour, due to traffic being bad always, the perkings restaurant next door was good, the pool was there tho we never used it, down the street there are many convinient malls, as well as all around the area, i would recomend going back there, even […] tho myself i would try to get a hotel in the downtown area if you dont want to spend a lot of time stuck in traffic to get downtown Mehr

It is simple and does the trick. My room was exactly what I asked for, staff were somewhat helpful (one was not but the others were) and it is right across from the hospital. It was close by everything I wanted to go to. It has a pool and a hot tub which was a nice relaxing end to the day. I went with my sister and we went to a spa that wasn't too far […] away, so the hotel was in a good location. Good shopping and good restaurants nearby as well. Overall a good experience for the price paid. Mehr

This Hotel met our needs and was very comfortable. The one set back were the stains on the carpet in the room which initially took away from the cleanliness of the room. But other than that my family and I were safe,we enjoyed clean surroundings, and cooperative staff. The Perkins attached to the Hotel made meals easily accessible, and the service there […] was also very good. Mehr

A good hotel for the price, may not be in a great area of town but there is a police station right next to it. The pool is nice though the hot tub could be a little hotter. Rooms were nice and clean and pleasant to stay in. Overall a very good stay, right off the highway and would definetely stay there again.

Nous sommes arrivés et le commis à l,entrée était plus que froid, il ne nous a même pas salué ni regardé....il n'ai me pas les gens et son boulot c'est évident. de plus le lobby était très sale, je sais qu'ils sont en rénovations mais les coulisses de crasse sur les murs ne font pas partie de rénos il me semble...! La chambre était très sale elle aussi, […] nous ne pouvions pas marcher librement tellement que le tapis était dégoûtant. La salle de bain était épouvantablement sale elle aussi...un continum quoi!!! Le seul + de cet hôtel a été la piscine qui était correcte ainsi que le spa mais sans plus. La salle à manger était bien à première vue mais les tables étaient toutes collantes de sirop, confiture et la serveuse n'a pas daigné la laver...aussi quel personel déprimant...aucun sourire ni m^me bonjour... Il est certain que nous n'y retournerons plus ainsi qu'à tout hêtel de cette chaîne. Mehr
