Wer den Bettenburgen in Playa del Carmen entfliehen will ist hier richtig. Hotelgröße ist genau richtig, die Mitarbeiter alle sehr nett und die Lage wirklich unschlagbar. In einer Minute auf der Shopping- und Ausgehmeile, ein einer Mintute am Strand... Ich war mit einer Freundin da und kann es nur empfehlen!

Das Hotel ist etwas Besonderes, da es nur kleiner Bungalows sind. sehr schön in einer Gartenlandschaft. Die Zimmer sind aber etwas abgewohnt, aber voll funktionstüchtig. Manche Bereiche der Anlage werden renoviert, was aber gar nicht stört. Was mich gestört hat, ist dass das mehr nach Schwefelwasserstoff gerochen hat und das fast nur im Hotelbereich. Die Rezeption konnte da auch nichts machen. Für einen solch hohen Preis erwarte ich mehr.

sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis,sehr schöne Zimmer,ruhige Lage, gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Zum Zentrum benötigt man ein Taxi oder Mietwagen. Zum Strand kann man laufen ca.10 min.,muss man sich aber erklären lassen( über den Golfplatz).

Das Petit Lafitte ist mehr als nur zu empfehlen. Es ist ein kleines Hotel, das familiär geführt wird. Die ganze Organisation wird von zwei Familien übernommen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit bei allen Angelegenheiten. Wir hatten einen Bungalow gebucht, der nur ein paar Meter vom direkt am Hotel grenzenden Strand gelegen war. Zum Einschlafen kann man das Meer rauschen hören. Dank Ventilator und Klimaanlage waren die Temperaturen kein Problem. Die Küche hat einen super Job gemacht, morgens gab es frisches Obst, Säfte, Kaffee oder Tee - und man konnte sich etwas leckeres von der Karte aussuchen. Abens gab es ein vier Gänge Menü. Das Hotel liegt ein wenig von der Trubelgegend in Playa del Carmen entfernt - man kann sich also sehr gut entspannen. Eigentlich kann ich über dieses Hotel gar nichts negatives sagen. Es war für uns einfach das Paradies.

Kleines All-inclusive Hotel! Ca. 20 Gehminuten von der Innenstadt / Touristenzentrum entfernt. Wenn man das Hoteleigene Internetnutzen will: für 24 Stunden 10 Euro = Wucher Essen sehr gut, Restaurants alle ohne zu buchen nutzbar. Wenn die Bar um 10 öffnet, bekommt man um 09.57 Uhr halt noch keine Getränke...... Zimmer super, alles was man braucht.

"El Cid la Ceiba - Divers ALERT!"
If you are planning to do diving while in Cozumel this is the hotel for you. A good diving operator is made up of three crucial parts: 1. A fast boat 2. small group 3. experienced and safety conscious dive masters who take the customer where he/she wants to go Babeica Diving in El Cid has all of these and on top of this, the DM's are simply great […] and cool people. If you take pot luck and end up with any one of the three amigos, Luis, Socrates or Julian, you simply won't be dissapointed. I give 10/10 to Babeica and the crew. Take this from a person who has been diving for 15 years and on 5 continents. On top of this, the hotel itself is great and I'd stay there again. Mehr
"Nice Mini Resort with beach view"
This is a nice resort style hotel with a small private beach, restaurant, gym, cabanas, beach lounge chairs, jacuzzi with bar, dock for snorkeling, hammocks!, and clean rooms. You are greeted with a free drink and are given many freebies including organic honey shampoo and snacks. Their gym is small but not many people used it while i was there so i […] had the whole place to myself. The jacuzzi is nice, but get there early because people like to stay there and enjoy the sea breeze. I really didn't like the room service though. The portion size was small and the price was on the high side. All in all, i recommend this hotel, its a nice place for the price. Mehr
"La Ceiba....wouldn't be my first choice..."
I have to say, most of the staff is very friendly and very accomodating. If you stay in the tower you will have a better stay overall. These are bigger, newer rooms with a nice view of the ocean. In contrast, the room we stayed at was very dimly lit, had very loud pipes that would wake us up in the middle of the night and the room was small and outdated- […] and there is no elevator. Bellman can help you, but it's rather difficult managing the stairs with a stroller and baby in tow. The food at the hotel wasn't all that great and it's rather pricey. I would definitely NOT recommend getting all inclusive for this reason. I would recommend eating towards the centro where you can find some wonderful restaurants with reasonable prices. One main reason why my hotel stay was not as enjoyable is because I was supposed to receive "hotel credit" in a certain amount to use at the resort. I was specifically told that I could use this credit for food and drinks and pretty much anything there at the resort. Instead, I received a coupon book that was useless to me. You have to spend a minimum (usually around $150-200) to use a coupon, and many of these coupons weren't even for the La Ceiba. It was very disappointing. Another thing- I wouldn't go on tours using the hotel service. Do your own homework online and save yourself a good $20 per person or more for the same exact tour. They try to make it reasonable if you waste 90 minutes of your day listening to people try and sell you a time share. I'm glad I didn't do it! My time on vacation is precious! I liked that the rooms had kitchenettes with mini fridges- this was a must especially traveling with little ones. Mehr

"The El Cid Hotel in Cozumel"
Stayed (Nov. 30 to Dec the 8, 2011) in room 2319 which was on the 3rd floor on the lower hotel bldg. There was a tree that seem to be the home of hundreds of cherping birds that will wake you up a dawn without fail. I do not recommend anyone staying on that side of the hotel. The Jaccuzi did not work for a couple of days. The maintenence staff told […] us that water could not be added to the steam room even thou the instructions on the wall stated that you can. Go figure! As far as the overall stay was concerned, I did like the hotel and staff. I do recommend this hotel. If you like being downtown shopping, this hotel is not within walking distance. Mehr

"Great Hotel, But only Average Food"
This hotel is a nice find. Not too far from town, yet none of the town noise. Only two complaints. First, my wife came to learn to scuba dive. They (The onsite dive shop) told her she could start the next day at 1:30. At 2:30 she was still waiting, and told the instructor was out with the cruise ship arrivals teaching them to dive. We learned who had […] priority. We went next door, a great place. All the cruise ships dock next door. No problem, as we liked to see the big ships while we ate. However, it does block a small portion of the view of the beach. Second, the food is not really worth what they charge. You will average $30.00 - $40.00 dollars per meal for two. Much better deals are to be had in town. Also, the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. By the time we returned from town or a night dive in the evening, they were closed. No other places are close by where you can eat late so be prepared. A taxi ride will cost between $7.00 - $12.00 to town each way depending on how well you negotiate. Also the printer was down in their business center. No easy way to print advance boarding tickets for your flight home. The free WIFI was spotty at best. Only seemed to work when seated in the lobby, and sometimes at the bar. On the positive side, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning in our room worked great, and you will need it. Few selections on the TV, but you shouldn't come here to watch it anyway. We felt safe at all times, never a security concern. Our rental car in the parking lot was never bothered. We would stay here again. Mehr

I have stayed at the La Ceibe previously. But this time the stay was even better. Except for the nearby construction I have no complaints.

"El Cid La Ceiba in Cozumel, Mexico"
The only thing we didn't like was having our view of the ocean blocked by cruise ships docked in front of the hotel. But it was interesting to see all the different ships, especially the "Allure of the Seas"- the largest cruise ship in the world.

Our first stay in Cozumel and Second El Cid experience. Our room was more dated than our last room in Mazatlan but the service was just as top notch as our last stay. Snorkeling in front of the resort was amazing and the heated hot tub by the bar made the rainy nights enjoyable. We would stay here again on our next trip to Cozumel.
The outside was comfortable and beautiful but far away from downtown. Coffee was so horrible we brought the pot back and asked for our money back. Could not drink it. Rooms were small and bathrooms were not good. Tub would not drain. People were nice enough. Jimmy was very helpful in guiding us to a great restaurant, La Mission. Best coconut shrimp […] I have ever eaten. All in all, I would not stay at this place ever again. Mehr
