zumindest der teil des hotels, im dem wir gewohnt haben, war bereits ziemlich alt. besseres zimmer im hauptgebäude gegen auspreis möglich.

Very close to downtown and train station, and the room is clean and tidy. I will definately stay there again.

The room was not clean at all!

Excepting the Rimrock and Banff Springs Hotel, this hotel claims to be right down town, but its quite a distance out. Pool was clean and warm but the hot tub developed a thick foam when turned on, and we all know what that means.. The rooms were clean but had a used feeling to them. really enjoyed stay would recommend this hotel to friends, Nice that we could decide if we wanted to drive .walk. or take the shuttle to the activities we wanted to do would come back again.

We were enjoying our time in the roof top hot tub when an arrogant male employee game by and took away people's beer cans. No one was being loud, intoxicated or inappropriate whatsoever and no children were present. The mood of the after-ski hot tub was quiet conversation between couples and small groups of adults. There was no inappropriate behavior […] whatsoever that warranted his extreme reaction. He peered into people's plastic bags and around people's towels and clothing on the benches. He could have been more discreet and less "power trip" about it. He loudly accused people of their open beer cans and their discreet plastic bags of unopened beer cans. Then he lectured the whole hot tub crowd on the "no alcohol signs". We did not have beer cans with us, but the whole spectacle was embarrassing and wrecked the relaxing serene mood of being in the open fresh air with beautiful mountain views. The employee kept up this obvious deliberate spectacle for several minutes, circling around and around the hot tub; being very obvious in his power trip. It was distracting to our soothing relaxation time and quiet mountain views, so we left the hot tub earlier than when we would have liked to with a wrecked mood. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay! The food was really good in the restaurant! (breakfast & supper) We did find it hard to get a parking spot in the parking lot because all the spots were always full both nights. The one thing we didn't like about our room was the lock on the padio door. We stayed 2 nights & didn't like leaving our belongings in the room all day […] while we were out because the lock would not stay locked ...it was broken & the padio's were right next to eachother so anyone could step on to our patio & get in. Great stay at the Inns of Banff..The Hot Pool was awesome. the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Staff were very friendly all the time! Overall great stay.

This hotel is Old and in need of some updating. The sheets and bathroom were clean but the carpets have seen better days. Behind the headboards there looked to be about 2 years worth of dust. The layout of the hotel is kind of confusing with the multiple buildings and pedways between them. Every time someone ran water in another room the pipes would […] rattle, so as long as nobody was up in the night it was quiet. Mehr

I stayed at Inns of Banff a couple times. The hotel itself is a descent hotel, good size rooms over in the Swiss Village. Watch out for the slippery hill in front of Swiss Village!! If you are staying at Inns of Bannf and are parking in front of the Swiss Village, that steep angle parking can be really slippery and your vehicle can slide into the vehicle […] that is parked below it. Make sure there is lots of rocks for traction or make sure the hill have been cleared off really good in the winter! A co-worker of mine had his truck slide into another hotel guests truck. Please watch out for the parking! The parking under Inns of Banff is really good. Nice a flat. Mehr

The hot tub on the roof was a very pleasant surprise - amazing view. Was disappointed with the outside parking - we had to park across the street as every spot was filled and we wasted a lot of time driving around looking for an available spot. Indoor parking was not an option due to our high vehicle clearance.

If you just need a bed to sleep in, this hotel works just fine. If you're going for pampering and want to sleep in at all, maybe give this one a miss. Sound proofing isn't one of this hotel's strong points. That said, beds are clean & comfy, layout is fine, we didn't really use the pool or hot tub but I've heard good things. It's a bit of a hike to […] downtown, but really, a 20 minute walk is good for you. Cabs are cheap too. I'd stay here again for sure, as long as I wasn't planning on being hungover in the morning and required extra sleep. Mehr

This is definitely not a fancy resort hotel. The property needs a little TLC but considering the cost to stay I would say it is nice little hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to downtown Banff. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay however it is ideal for an overnighter after a day of skiing or boarding.

We were booked for 2 queen beds that is not in the main hotel complex, and requested a room in the main hotel complex. We were upgraded to a larger room per the attendant, but the room was really terrible in interior appearance and grungy looking,and was very small. The washroom area was powder area in the entrance was especially grungy. We were charged […] extra for the upgraded room. I am very afraid what the previous room might of looked like. On the plus side, we really love the outdoor hot tub and the indoor pool. Outdoor hot tub hours should be extended to 11:00 P.M. Attendants were very friendly, prompt and very helpful when we needed towels and hotel directions. The room itself is definitely not an upgrade. Should be considered as standard. We did not sleep much because noise from younger people who occupied the other rooms were making much noise. This also suggests that area where we stayed in this part of the hotel is definitely not the upgraded area. Mehr

Stayed in the Swiss Village, which seemed very run down, especially the bathroom. The tub kept turning on and making awful noises. Also, I would have appreciated if they would do walk thrus every hour or so at night to enforce their "quiet hours" and keep the people from partying in the hallways. We finally had to stick our heads out in the hall to […] say something at 2am. Also the plastic card keys wouldn't work. The hot tub is nice, but not worth the other hassles. The people working there were very nice, there was a lot to do, they had a ski rental shop attached (good prices as well), a nice hottub on the roof and an indoor pool, and the pub downstairs had good food. No complaints at all and the beds were excellent.

The front desk tied to charge me a $30 because Hotels.com made a mistake..... Only view rooms where available. It turned out the Hotel was near empty!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room had bugs in it, it was filthy, and not maintained well at all. The staff was the only good part about it. So so dirty.

This is the perfect hotel if you’re traveling with your family and/or a group of friends. We love staying here as it has everything we need all in one great location. It’s slightly 'dated' with its decor but the amenities & staff are absolutely wonderful!! We'll always go back.

Really great views no matter what room. Large balconys, comfy beds.Great desk staff, resteraunt food is good. FREE bus pass is Really great. Go anywhere in Banff and easy to time. The hotel was great. Rooms were clean and spacious. People at the hotel were friendly and accomodating. Beds were very comfortable. Convenient place to stay for going on a ski trip or seeing the town of Banff. Would stay here again or recommend to people.

very nice quiet room

The hotel overall is a bit dated and could use some work, but considering the price I guess you get what you pay for. The only real problem we had was when we came home from dinner and their was a leak in our room, so we had to switch rooms around midnight, which was a real pain, but it might have been just a fluke? We stayed for one night at the Inns of Banff and when we got there the hotel had a smell of booz to it. The room was dirty with stains on the carpet and bed. The bed had an uncomfortable mattress cover that slid off during the night. The hotel was noisy with several parties going on in the hallway thought the night. This hotel is probably a good bet […] if you are going to ski and party but not so good if you and your girlfriend want a quiet evening. It was not my cup of tea. Mehr

We had stayed here based on several reviews that it was fairly decent place but instead it felt like stepping into a college dorm room/ basement suite. To boot, the walls were as thin as a potato chip. During the night we kept hearing the tears of drunk snowboarders -- crying their eyes out -- in the hallway (i'm not joking either). First room we where put in was something else upgraded to another room on the 5th floor way quieter.Parking sucks not enough parking spaces for the number of guests,good 15 min walk to center of town.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and found the staff to be very friendly and the room exceptionally clean. The hotel layout however is very confusing and to get anywhere from our room meant going down an elevator, down a hallway, through a crossover to another elevator, down another hallway to another crossover and hopefully you'll turn the right direction […] to the front lobby...really, it was that complicated! The rooftop hottub was fantastic and made up for the bad layout. It also was very clean, always had lots of clean towels and never felt crowded. Overall our hotel experience was very good. Now, our experiences in this hotels restaurants were less than stellar. The first restaurant we tried to eat at was a Japanese food place that is run independently. They were rude and unprofessional in how they spoke to us before we were even seated and we decided not to stay there and went downstairs to the hotel restaurant instead. While they were friendlier, the service was slow and the food very average. On our last day we decided to try it again for the breakfast buffet and found the service to be slow again and the buffet not at all worthy of the price they charge for it. Mehr

The Inns of Banff is a great stay for your dollar. Consistently one of the cheapest room rates in Banff, it provides all the necessities for a ski trip, that is, a bed and a place to drink your beer (also, there is a liquor store across the street at the Voyager). Once you successfully navigate the labyrinthian room layout of the large complex, you'll […] find standard rooms with large balconies, many with great views. The hot tubs are also very nice. If there is one criticism it'd be the TV's. The TV's are just terrible: 27 inchers that sound like the 1 inch speakers are not only busted but located in the back of the TV for some reason but this is a minor quibble. Enjoy your stay! Mehr

I have stayed at several hotels in Banff.  However, this one was one of the most run-down, over-priced hotels I've stayed at anywhere in 40 years of traveling.  Torn, stained carpeting everywhere.  Dingy rooms with the cheap linoleum on the bathroom sink counter pealing back.  Black, mildew-stained grout in the shower.  The place needs to be gutted, […] and completely re-done. I made my reservation through Hotels.com and on arrival was told I could "up-grade" my room for $20, I declined and was initially given  a dingy, cellar-like cave, with a single window at just below shoulder height.  As the room was other-wise more than ten years past run down, I requested another room, something I cannot remember having had to do in quite some time.  I was told only one other room was available.  It was slightly less cave-like than the first, but equally run-down: broken bed; bathroom door did not close; cigaret burns on the bathroom floor. I then looked at the rooms in the "up-graded" building.  Stained, torn carpeting in the hallways and stairs. Larger, less dated rooms, but absolutely not worth the price. Make a reservation at your risk.  I only wish I had been warned. Mehr
