Perfect location right in the heart of Banff. Classic hotel that looked to be rebuilt or significantly refurbished recently. Rustic furnishings nice touch in Mountain property. Only drawback is that walls appear a bit thin and you did get noise early in the morning as folks were heading to slopes.

Extremely noisy. Good luck sleeping if your room is on the west side facing Bear St as there is partying and loud bass until 3am at the night clubs. Beds are uncomfortable and on par with a 2 star hotel or roadside. Great hotel if you are in town partying as you will pass out drunk and not notice the noise and hard bed, but if you are in town for a […] family function or you are a light sleeper, pay a little more and stay somewhere half decent. They charge $5 for 1/2 hour internet use on the computer. Parking is $10+ a day and that doesn't guarantee you a spot as you might end up having to park somewhere down the street anyways. I'm not usually one to complain.... The location is great! Staff very friendly Rooms are just fine The beds.... not so good. I wouldn't usually complain, but to me the hotel experience revolves around the sleep. I do not spend very much time in my room... except to sleep. When I have a bad sleep... due to poor beds... it reflects poorly for me. I […] was so exhausted after 6 days of bad sleep we had to cut our vacation short a day. Stayed at the Delta for about the same price... AWESOME beds. GREAT sleeps. I cannot recommend this hotel if sleep is important to you. Mehr

2nd stay at the hotel in recent months. That says it all!!

The location was great, however very difficult to navigate as it is situated behind a commercial mall and very tight access to get in and out of the parking lot. It can be a maze to walk around, however for what you pay for the Room rate its a great location.

Breakfast offered needs improvement, would like to have seen choices of meat cause it says Continental breakfast so there should be at least eggs, sausages, and maybe fresh milk?

Brewster's Lodge is a good place to stay in Banff if you don't have a big budget and want a good place that is close to all amenities. The hotel have a sweet wood smell to it (since it's constructed mostly out of wood and burns wood in the main fireplace). The rooms are clean and roomy. It's filled with granite counter top which is nice and the towels […] are excessive, which is a good thing because I stayed with 4 people in a 2 queens bedroom. It's close to Banff's main road, which is where all the tourism businesses are located. Very convenient. The only problem or complaint that I have is the free continental breakfast. Don't expect any egg, bacon, sausages because you won't get any, which is a little disappointing. Other than that, it's a really nice place to stay in. Mehr

Definitely happy with our stay. Great location. Ask for a quiet room and you should be set.

Very clean room, pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast room was a little small and could do with enlarging. Only serves a continental breakfast so you will have to go elsewhere if you want cooked. The breakfast served was more than adequate though. Everything else was very good. the king suite was perfect for a romantic weekend!

Great hotel, in great location the only issue was the hotel parking I couldn't get the car (Ford Expedition) in the underground car park with my skis on the roof. But the hotel staff told me where I could park for free oover night.

This is a great place to stay in Banff. All the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. It is located right in the middle of Banff within walking distance of many bars and clubs for you night owls, and also close to many shops including a mall. I would stay here again.

I stayed at Brewster's the second weekend in December. Check-in was quick and efficient. Free wi-fi was convenient. The underground parking was also convenient when it was not full. Friday afternoon there were available spots, but none available Saturday evening. I ended up not having to pay the daily parking fee so it wasn't a big deal, but it's something […] to consider if you're bringing a car. Location was great--very close to bars, shops, restaurants, but not directly on the main street. I was pleased with the room itself, which was clean, spacious, and comfortable. My only complaint about the room is you can hear everything that is happening in the hallway. There was a large crack (4 cm) under the door, and my room was directly across from the ice machine, so I ended up stuffing pillows under the door to help with the noise, but it didn't really help. If you go to bed early or if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs or your iPod to drown out the hallway noise! Breakfast was lackluster. There was an assortment of bread and cereal, not much else. It was a bit of a maze to get to the breakfast room, but there were signs that clearly marked the way. The difficulty was getting back to my room! If you're looking for a hot breakfast, this is not the place to find it. Overall, I was happy with this hotel. Good value and excellent location--convenient to ski rentals, shopping, and dining. A large group of my friends stayed at Brewsters 2 years ago for my birthday. The location is great and we loved our room (the bed was in a loft). Our group decided to stay at Brewsters again last weekend for another birthday and we were all disappointed. One couple complained of black hair all over the bed. We found the exact same thing - black hair […] covered the back-side of a pillow. Gross. Another couple was in the basement (this was an upgraded room). Theycould hear people going up and down the stairs all night. The 3rd couple had to ask a group of teens drinking on the street at the front entrance to go away. Our room was on the 2nd floor, in the open to below area and we could hear EVERYTHING. From the cash drawer being counted, to the doors slamming all night, we were constantatly woken up. My husband stuffed towels under the door, we turned on a white noise app on my phone, we even truned the radio on to a static setting. I finally slept only when I put a pillow over my head. It was aweful. A couple of other points: Brewsters could make just a couple of changes to make the stay way more comfortable. The shower heads are brutal and should be changed. While the character of the rooms is charming and cozy, they've changed all of the light bulbs to cold flourescent bulbs. This makes it feel like a cheap motel. (A note to the manager - flourescent bulbs with a low Kalvin Temperature will produce warm, incadenscent-like light... lighting is a major part of a space). Changing the alarm clocks to iPod docks means we could have listened to our white noise app all night through higher volume and quality speakers. We most likely won't return unless some of these issues are addressed. Mehr

Hotel is located within short walking distance of shops, bus stop, pubs, restaurants and the information centre. Also the Bow river is located a short walk away. Comfortable temperature in the room. Breakfast included is basic but for the price of the room it's all good value. Would be happy to return, the staff were friendly and can't beat the loc […] ation. Mehr

We lived in Banff between 1969 and 1973 so when we decided to go back for a visit we knew it would be quiet and beautiful at this time of year. Our hotel was just seconds away from great breakfast lunch and dinner restaurants... and great little places to go for a walk. We had a marvelous time revisiting our old favorite spots and even though the town […] has grown alot it still has the same ambiance and atmosphere that it had 40 years ago. It was a short trip up to soak in the hot springs and of course there are so many trails very near to go hiking. The hotel had inside parking so we had no worries about the rental vehicle and it was always warm when we wanted to drive somewhere. The feeling of the hotel was old country lodge complete with unique light fixtures, bedding and decor. It was truly a quiet and relaxing time for us. We had some snowboarders and skiiers staying there but it was not a noisy party atmosphere. It was great and I would recommend it to anyone wanting everything (including shops and restaurants within a minute or two of the hotel. Mehr

I stayed here for 4 nights and found the location great as a few minutes by foot and you were in the main street and next to a Bus Stop to get to either Sulphur Mountain or Banff Springs Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful providing useful information about the Town. The morning Breakfast was a good way to start the day and there are many eateries […] to choose from if you want to try something different. Just cross the road. Great place and amazing location in town, was just what we were looking for. The hotel was among the shops, yet had a great lodge/cabin feel. Underground parking was a little difficult as there were enough spots. All in all great experience.

Very convenient, within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. This is especially great because with the secure underground parking it allows you to see the sights without having to search for a parking spot close to wherever you want to go.

The Lodge is in a superb location amid many restaurants and shops. The room is large and very comfortable. We enjoyed very much the fresh fruit at the very good continental breakfast that was included in the cost of the room and the fresh cookies at reception. Two things that did not work for us: 1) our room faced onto a back lane where noisy people […] gathered throughout most of the two weekend nights we were there, and 2) parking was an extra $5/night, the only place we have stayed in Banff in the last 30+ years with an extra charge for parking (although the breakfast made up for that). Then we discovered that our vehicle was too high to fit into the hotel's underground parking which created a different problem for us. Mehr

After winding around 17 sets of stairs we finally found The Birds Nest where we were directed to have breakfast. When we finally got there, all there was was fruit loops and a tub of yogurt. For 2 guys who needed some protein to negotiate the maze, it was really off setting.

We have stayed at Brewster's several times. It is in a central location, close to restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is very good value for the money.

If you get parking don't leave you will end up looking else where for place to park.

Overall courteous staff with a few exceptions

A very nice lodge type hotel. Loved our room, spacious, ample room with lodge style furniture of settee, table chairs dresser etc. large bathroom. Very clean. Even breakfast room being in the basement was okay..........good selection of foods and very pleasant warm room to eat in. Will always stay there!

I was surprised at the spacious size and comfort of this hotel. The last time I was in Banff, I stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs. This time, I decided to on a more modest accommodation but was impressed with the large size of the room - 2 queen beds but have enough room for 3 adults. I liked the wood cabin lodge look of the interiors and the accent […] trims of the decor gave authenticity to that whole Banff feel. Mehr

Thought the hotel was a little tired. Very difficult to get around as there are twists and turns to the hallways.

The room was warm & there was no air conditioning but they did provide a fan. Bathtub was dirty & had some personal hair left around it - had to water it down before using to wash the hair away Nice overall though

Hotel itself was great! Staff helpful, was with seniors so close to shopping, sightseeing, met physical needs.. What was extremely upsetting was that there is no AC in the room, only a fan, which was not working. First night we were up until 3or 4 am due to bar traffic and skateboarders. Finally it was quiet until 5:30 ish and were awakened by the delivery […] trucks lined up out our window. We were on the 3rd. floor facing the back alley. Excellent location. We booked based on quadruple occupancy but I didn't feel like we got anything extra for it. There were no extra towels or shampoos/soaps. Also the continental breakfast was basically cereal, toast/bagels and some out of a can fruit salad - so we didn't eat it. If you are booking for more than two people I wouldn't pay the extra $$ […] - I would just book a room with more than one bed. Mehr

Convenient but nothing special. We checked into our King loft , it was so disappointing that I upgraded to a pricey suite. I've stayed here before and was very impressed ... As for our recent stay i was not impressed at all. They downgraded there bedding in the last year and also tiny televisions even in the suite! It felt like I needed to keep my shoes […] on the entire time.The location of the hotel is the only reason I would recommend it. Very pricey for the lack of room comfort and quality your getting . We recently enjoyed 3 nights in Banff, AB at Brewster's. The room was clean, the staff friendly and courteous and the amenities fairly adequate. The rustic decor with the pine furniture throughout the room and the hotel was quaint. The cold continental breakfast was fine, but nothing special. Underground parking was at an extra cost, but that was nominal. […] The hotel's location right in downtown Banff was very convenient. Channel selection on the TV at night was limited and reception was poor. Loss of internet availability on the morning of checkout was annoying, but presumably could have been corrected had we pressed the issue. This was the only hotel on our trip that didn't have a mini-fridge and that was inconvenient. Nonetheless we did enjoy our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

I would recommend this lodge to friends but I would tell them to specify that they want a room in the back of the lodge and not facing the main street. There was a bar with a lot of rowdy people going till all hours of the night.

Great hotel, great location...

Brewster's Mountain Lodge is conveniently located in the center of Banff. You can walk to many of the shops and restaurants in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was handy having a complimentary breakfast in the hotel each morning so we could eat and get on our way. The underground parking will challenge your driving and parking as you […] maneuver into the tight parking spaces. On the positive side it was very affordable and insured your car was safe overnight. My only suggestion is that they invest in some thicker towels. The ones supplied were so thin that it took two to dry off after a shower. Come on guys! Mehr
