Unser Wunsch, nach einem ruhigeren Zimmer, wurde leider nicht erfüllt. Der Hotelier bot uns nur eine Suite, gegen hohen Aufpreis an. Sonst alles Standard, Zimmer recht klein.

"Two nights' stay"
My wife and I were in for a wedding and stayed two nights. The price was excellent and the room was adequate for what we needed--just a place to sleep and shower. Some past reviewers mentioned problems with the TV, and if that is a problem for you I recommend contacting the office. They have DirecTV and ours was messed up, but a guy came right over […] when I called and got it fixed for me. The high speed internet was VERY fast and my laptops both connected with no problem. The room was spacious enough for two of us. There was an ironing board/iron, fridge and microwave. Hotel is conveniently located off of I-81 and minutes from shopping and food. The only complaint I would say is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear people next door or outside as though the door was open. Luckily there were not many people around the first night, but we wakened a few times during the night from people coming and going and talking loudly outside. I would highly recommend this place if you just want an inexpensive room that is clean and fairly well kept with friendly service. I would definitely stay here again if I were traveling this way again. Mehr

"Clean & well-maintained"
Although the room was small, it was very clean and comfortable. Maid service was very fast and efficient. We checked in after 7 pm, and the night clerk was not very helpful when the TV didn't work. But they accommodated my kids and dog without hassle. The only thing I didn't like was hearing the guy in the next room snoring.

"No internet service"
I liked the hotel itself. The room was very clean & comfortable, however, I could not get internet service in my room! I called the office and asked them about it & they said it might be my computer. I went down to the McDonald's to try my computer & it worked perfectly fine, so I know it wasn't my computer. I told the office this, but they still could […] not do anything to get my internet working!! I was very disappointed in this. They let me come to the office to check my email on their computer, but it was not the same as being able to relax in my room, watching tv & getting on the internet! "For the Price & Location Tops"
Clean, friendly, and very nicely located to food and conveniences. Not nearly as bad as teh price might lead youto believe. Walls very thin, doors do not provide privacy in to the rest room from the rest of the room. Please in teh area friendly and staff very responsive to the need for directions. "Nice and Pet Friendly"
We just stayed there one night just long enough rest before we "hit the road again". The hotel is pet friendly, but we did have an issue when I arrived because when I booked the room, I told them that we had our dachshund with us, and knowing that they book the room I requested; however, when I got there, I was told that my pet couldn't stay in the […] room that I had booked. Needless to say, I was not about to be put in a room with just a double bed when I has specifically requested a king bed in a non-smoking room. After a bit of conversation, we were allowed to stay in the room that I had booked. The room was comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. I felt the parking lot was a bit dark, however. We didn't eat anything for breakfast because all that was offered was coffee and little powdered donuts. I would stay there again. Mehr

"Martinsburg"
Great place to stay. The people working at the hotel are very nice and accomodateing. I will stay there again.
We were very pleased with our room - it was clean & comfortable. The continental breakfast was very limited, but we saved so much on the price of the room we could go out for breakfast & still save money if we wanted. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Not fancy - but nice & quiet.

"Watch your step"
Motel was fine....only issue is that going in and out of the rooms from the outside it has a BIG step up/down of about 15". First time leaving room it caused be to step awkwardly enough that I fell. Not sure why they designed the entrance like that.
"This was good enough for a second stay."
This is not a boutique or resort hotel but is perfect for a night's stay on the road. The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and had a couch to relax on. The bed was firm and supportive. The location was quiet and they seemed to put people in every other room so that there was no noise carrying through the walls. The room was well kept up. My room was close to the office for I did not have to walk a distance to get to my room. The office attendant was very polite and helpful.
While the hotel was convenient to where we wanted to be, it left a bit to be desired, other than cost. Not much in the line of amenities, no coffee pot, carpets were old and worn, beds were not the most comfortable.

Great location, one exit from the hospital, food next door and across street, best nights sleep in a motel I can remember at any price. Shopping within a mile. I will stay here on any trip to this area within 25 miles.

Comfortable, clean room at a very resonable price. Nice feature to have both fridge and microwave in room, making business trips or longer stays less expensive than eating out all meals. Little road noise, but nothing to keep me awake. Easy access off of the interstate.

Overall for the money spent this was a very good hotel. I was able to park right outside my room and the accomodations, though dated, were in good repair. The room had a small refridgerator and a microwave. It was quiet and clean. I have a lot of experience with hotels and would use this place again if the need arises for me to be in the area. "Can't beat it for the price"
Really good for a less-than-2-star hotel. The other good reviews made me try it; and I agree with them. Not a whole lot of TV channels, but that's not a big deal with me. The only thing I missed was an in-room coffee maker, but with a fridge and microwave, I made my own coffee anyway. Spent 2 nites there to visit the Charles Town casino.
"Good for a quick place to spend the night"
This is an ideal hotel for a place you are just looking at to crash for a few hours. Biggest complaint is that there was no shampoo or conditioner in the room. Also, just three small pillows on a king size bed.

The outside needs some work but the room was clean and it looks remodeled. Really good for the price. I would stay again if i have to.

I was a little disappointed in this hotel. Very old, very small and creely. Only one other room was filled but at least the room was clean and staff was friendly.

everything was perfect the only complaint I have is that there weren't enough channels to watch on the tv, and some of them were snowy
"Good Value"
The room we had was clean. The management was polite and they had coffee and pastries in the morning. It was also a quieter place and when we had to stay an extra night the managment also gave us a good rate.

For an older motel, it was in very good shape. Clean, comfortable room. Very quiet, despite proximity to major roadways. Nice staff. Great value for the price.
""Ignore the Exterior""
Upon our arrival we immediately questioned the rave reviews that this hotel had received. The exterior of the motel needs work, but our room was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. It was a deal for the price. We will stay there again.

"Parking lot"
The parking was not good at all!!!! The spaces were very close and hard to pack out of parking spot. Other then that....great hotel for the price.
"Cheap"
Room was stale, a bit stinky, but bedding and towels were very clean. Cheap place to stay near Shepherdstown -- WITH dogs (the room was moldy-smelling before we let the dogs in!). Staff is nice, straight-forward, no nonsense.

Easily off I-81 and was exactly what we needed. We could have used a few more pillows but that was our fault for not asking. Recommended.
"Good Value for Overnight Stop"
While travelling home I searched for a hotel that was inexpensive since we were only going to be sleeping for a few hours before continuing home. The property is right off a busy highway but our room was suprisingly quite. That may be due to the location of our room at the back of the property. The room is definitely no frills and will throw you back […] in time. However it was suprisingly clean and comfortable for our overnight stay. For the price and what we needed, it more than fit the bill. I probably wouldn't suggest the property for more than a stop over, but I can't imagine someone staying in that town for more than a night. Mehr
