Le Meridien München - München

We had high expectation for the Le Meridien in Munich as we have stayed in Le Meridien hotels before and had very good experiences. Unfortunatly we found the check in staff a little rude and not interested. The check in clerk didn't even look us in the face when we checked in and found the whole check in very odd indeed. Also we requested a bottle opener […] for the room which took an hour to arrive which was somewhat annoying when you have your dinner and you can't open your wine to have with it. The rooms were nice and the location very central however that side of the station is very grungy and if we were to return to munich again we would stay in a different area altogether. Mehr

The hotel is conveniently situated next to the railway station- but is a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. Very much felt like a 'business' hotel. Almost worth a visit for the bizarre flower arrangements in reception!!!

This is an excellent, elegant hotel right outside of train station. If you have to take the train it is the best location. Go out right side of the train station and you will see the hotel on your right side of street. Staff is helpful and courteous all except the IT Computer tech who would not come to the room to make my computer work. Since we were […] there on weekend, only electrician was available and he could not connect my computer. we waited till the day tech worked but he refused to come up and fix and told me to call the help service number which nobody pick up. I would never go back to this hotel but if you don't need to work on the computer it is good hotel to stay. Bus tours are great, do not take private tours they are very pricy. Romantic Road to Rottenbur is great day trip and take bus tour to the castles in Bavaria. Buses are very comfortable and tour guide gives great info. Tour buses are one block away from hotel. Mehr

Having just come from the Meridien in Budapest (very nice), we were expecting a similar experience with the hotel in Munich. While the location was great, i.e. close to the train station and Oktoberfest, the rooms themselves were disappointing. We had a corner suite with a tiny bathroom and even tinier shower, with no touches to make us feel like we […] were in a top-tier hotel. We have been to many hotels around Europe and so far this is one of the best. The hotel staff is very accommodating and friendly. They put the customer first unlike some of our other experiences thus far. The beds are very comfortable and the room is large and clean. Loved this hotel. Great staff, extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. About a 5 minute walk to the main square. The room was very nice and a good size.

I stayed here for three days and really enjoyed mysef. I used the beautiful spa and the internal garden. The only complaint I had, was the room did not feel quite a 5 star and there was not free interet. They did offer purchase internet but it was very expensive.

This hotel is close to the train station and car rentals, however, I hate the fact that there are sex shops on the next block. The outside of the hotel doesn't look very nice. The inside is well maintained.

We stayed in this hotel for a few days while in Munich. Nice hotel, good service. Food/bar a bit pricey. Two complaints about the room comfort: * it was a bit difficult to control water temperature in the shower. For this hotel, it was a bit of a surprise * bed/mattress was a bit hard for our taste Hotel was conveniently located across the street […] from central train station, which was very convenient. it was a 10 min walk to main tourist area. of course area around station while convenient, is not the most pleasant area of Munich, with cheap stores/eateries, casinos and a few sex shops. Nevertheless, inside hotel feels like a small oasis, with contemporary/new age/artsy feel, which we personally liked (at least for a few days). Mehr

Booked the room for 2 adults and a 13 year old. Once checking in, the hotel informed us the rate would increase by 66% if we didn't want to all sleep in a single king size bed. Nice modern hotel in excellent condition with air conditioning. The "girly bars" on the surrounding streets made this a non-ideal location for a family with a teenage daug […] hter. Mehr

Not a 5 star hotel for sure

The room was great as was the hotel and the staff. It's about 15/20 minutes walk to the area of the hofbrau haus. The only bad thing was the usual complaints of a 5 star hotel; any extra was very expensive e.g. internet access. There were also no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. My stay at the Meridien Munich was excellent. Lovely room overlooking garden, comfortable bed, and large room all clean and all amenities. The spa is an added bonus - I loved the Ayurveda massage.....would recommend it. Hammam could be made to smell better - some oils rather than smelling humidity.

Overall, excelent hotel The hotel is located just in front of the main train station. Very friendly staff, Convenient location, Great Room, the Bathroom is GREAT, also (if you mind) great variety of TV channels. Within 20 min walk to Marienplaz. Overall Great choice for your holiday! This hotel was great for our stay in Munich. Although the hotel may lack certain luxury ammenities and some higher end hotels, it provides a great room with a great price. It is central to the main train station in Munich allowing you to travel anywhere in the city or beyond. (We took the train to Salzburg for the day; only two hours by train!) The […] concierge at the hotel is extremely knowledgeable about the city, and will give you explicit direction along with a map everytime you wish to do something. Everyone speaks amazing english. Most importantly, the beds and pillows are amazingly comfortable. The only bad things about the hotel is that it is a 20 minute walk to the marienplatz (city center), but you can hop on the U-bahn accross from the hotel and get there in minutes. Also, the area behind the hotel is a little sketchy, but you never have to venture there. I would highly reccommend the hotel! Mehr

This hotel is just a couple of subway stops away from just about anything you want to see in Munich, and the U-bahn stop is literally across the street. But there is no dining in the area, with the exception of a McDonald's about one block away. There is also a lovely large supermarket about two blocks away. I had a huge room at the Meridien and it was very clean and comfortable. The bed was the best I have ever slept on and the bathroom had a tub (rare for an urban hotel room) The bar and the breakfast buffet were good and they have outdoor seating. Really a business hotel, this is a good choice for a weekend break if you can get a good deal on the normal very high room rate, as we did. The cost of breakfast was still incredibly high and we avoided having breakfast in the hotel; there are many cheaper alternatives in the neighbourhood. Not in the most salubrious part of town, but the adjacent slightly […] sleazy side-streets can easily be avoided. Opposite the main railway station so very good for access to Munich's excellent publc transport systems. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the concierges. Rooms clean and comfortable in a business hotel kind of way, but the front-facing rooms are noisy if you like to open windows. I thought this was a very good 4 star business hotel and was surprised by the 5 stars. The only thing truly five-star was the price of the breakfasts! Mehr

I was extremely satisfied with the service provided. I stayed during a 12 our layover in Munich and needed to check in substantially earlier than the standard 3pm check in. The hotel was very accommodating and I was able to snooze during my layover. They were also very gracious in accepting my large dog to stay with me in the hotel.

Hotels is close to train station and close to major areas. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast buffet price and that it's not included in the price.

Le Meridian is way behind quest expectations of internet availability. The quest rooms offer "wired" internet service for a high usage fee and the wireless service is only avaiable in the hotel lobby for up to 19 euros per day. In order to print a boarding pass, you must go to a "business center" off the lobby and use an hotel computer for printing. […] The boarding pass or any other document is printed in an adjacent room that can only be accessed by a hotel employee. In addition, you only have 15 free minutes for any task and then they start charging you for more time. The lobby is really a part of reception and not condusive to getting business done on your computer. Mehr

Stayed in the Le Meridien in Munich for two nights in December and had a lovely time. The Le Meridien is ideally situated for exploring Munich and its surrounds as train station is situated right across the road. Hotel is very comfortable and we ate one night at the restaurant which was really fab but expensive, the drinks etc were also expensive. The […] spa area is beautiful and really worth a visit, really enjoyable. I did not find the neighbourhood intimadating contrary to other reviews on tripadvisor and other review forums. Ler meridien in munich isn't bad. while there though the normal breakfast room was being renovated so it moved to a makeshift room. not as nice, but ok. the room was fine, tv channel selection was very poor though (without paying extras and ordering special channels). and the charges for internet access are atrociously high. i pay as much for 1 day […] of "limited speed" access as i pay for a month of 100mbit fiber access at home. it's a nasty way to squeeze extra out of you and frankly i won't pay it because it's such a rip-off. just out of principal. in this day and age internet access for a hotel is dirt cheap to get. the prices charged are simply gouging the customer. The hotel being across the street from the train staion was centrally located to everything you'd like to see in Munich. The gransportation system was easy to use and very cheap for families. We got a day pass for a family of 5 adults and 2 kids for 9.20 Euro! The only dissapoitment is that we got a free coupon for 2 cappuccino and never got to use […] it cuz their coffee shop was close still atbour 8:30 am departure time. Also the WiFi can be expensive! across from the train station, so we didn't have to carry our bags far and it was easy to take day trips without having to call for a taxi.

Hotel location is great! Conveniently located across the street from the train station and short walk to the main square. Hotel dinners were great and affordable, especially the 64 (?) menu. You had a choice of 64 different appetizers, entrees and desserts. Fantastic! Loved the spa/sauna services.

I was able to take advantage of a sale so this was particularly well-priced, but the hotel has a nice pool & whirlpool (nice after a long day of trekking around the city), is well appointed, nice-sized bathroom with tub AND shower, quiet and comfortable.

My husband and I were very pleased with our accommodations and treatment. The hotel's location was great for us...across from the train station (We took the S bahn from the international airport) and around the corner from a bus touring company. It was close enough to the main plaza of town to walk. We did not have a car and only had a few days to tour […] the city. We recommended the hotel to a couple of Americans we later met in Austria, and they reserved a stay there. We did not eat any meals at the hotel, nor did we use other services such as the spa, so I cannot comment on that. Mehr

Although there are a few bars and strip clubs near the Munchen Hbf, this was not an issue as this hotel has ´proper´ air-conditioning and you can leave the windows closed. Our room faced the inner courtyard, it was very quiet. Being directly across the street from the Hbf (main train station) made getting around Munich and surrounding area a breeze. The […] hotel is gorgeous, and impeccably clean. The bathroom was spacious (shower and seperate tub) and the beds although firm, were very comfy. The service was excellent, the concierge even found us tickets for the sold out opening game of FC Bayern Munchen at a reasonable cost. The breakfast buffet is a bit spendy at 28 euros, cross the street for coffee, croissants etc. where there is surprisingly good selection at the train station. Mehr

Used this hotel for an overnight stay when travelling from southern Bavaria to Vienna. Ideal location. Directly across from main train station. Our room was lovely, on quiet side of hotel overlooking garden and the aor conditioning was very effective. Thoroughly enjoyed use of pool and spa facilities. Very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful at night with […] lit candles in garden and foyer. Every attempt had been made to make this a welcoming and relaxing place to be which was much appreciated after having travelled so much in the previous few days. in the main stream, in Bahnhoffstrasse - easy to stroll down the main street. close to shopping and right there at the train station. very convenient.

We had the nicest most helpful young lady check us in. We came way earlier than our check-in time and she still found a room for us! And it looked really busy! They have a nice parking garage around the corner, if you're driving there. Our rooms were really big and the bathrooms were so nice!! The hotel located in very ideal location. every thing is available by few steps. either fast food or Halal food resturants are very closed.check in went very smooth. the hotel was really good and the staff very freindly and helpful. hotel staff speaks arabic and always offer assistance.

Good price for a hotel in Munich. Quite literally across the street from the Hauptbahnhof. (Though you enter with the U1/2 line entrance or by the long distance trains). Excellent service by the hotel staff, I arrived early and was still able to check in. Checkout was quick and painless. The concierge even offered to go get the ticket for the train […] back to the airport. Hotel does offer internet service (wired) for a somewhat steep fee. 6 euros for an hour, or 19 euros for a continuous 24 hour period). Be warned that if you click to start it - you are charged, even if your computer won't log in. This happened to me and they wouldn't reverse the last days charge. Mehr

Big, beautifully designed hotel, but soulless. The hotel is in a very bad part of town surrounded by sex shops and kebab joints. The breakfast, at 28 Euros , is plain bad, and there are few options around the hotel for eating. OK for business people in a rush.
