I realize that the property had just changed affiliation, but there were no hang tags for the door. We asked the front desk to have housekeeping skip our room. They went in anyway. And while it wasn't a big deal when I mentioned it to the desk clerk, she got very snippy about how she HAD told housekeeping. Also there weren't any phone books in the rooms […] and when we asked for one at the front desk, they couldn't produce one. Two minor quibbles but that would not keep us from staying there again with the right rate. Mehr

Room had an odor to it and both the sink and toilet were broken when we arrived.

I hate to be picky but I travel alot. The hotel facility wise was just as expected. Clean and well kept. I was traveling with my friend who is a disabled vet and the facility was fine for that. Now what killed it was the service. They were rude and unprofessional. I called front desk after checking in at 3pm and no answer. Waited and called again 5 […] minutes later - no answer. Went to the desk and 3 people standing around and the phone was ringing. We went to the restaurant at 930 after returning to the hotel. It took 20 minutes to get water and an order taken - we were only the second group in the restaurant - 1 table of 6 and our table of 5. My Marine travel mate left his hat in the restaurant - at check out I asked if they had it and the lady at the desk looked up and down the counter and said no. My friend went to the other guy working the counter and he went and checked the lost and found box in the office and there it was. Poor help - poor training - poor service. Mehr

It seemed like the air conditioning did not work in the room. we turned the thermostat all the way down and it stayed muggy in our room overnight. also, we booked our room through hotels and the hotel itself charged us for a night also using the card we gave for incidentals. Just kind of frustrating.

As rates went up and availabiliy went down - this hotel was an easy walk from the ballpark and at a fair price.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We arrived on Friday, October 28th for game 7 of the World Series. There were a lot of people checking in at the same time as us but the staff was very courteous and quick. They were very helpful when we asked for extra pillows and soap/shampoo. We had the executive suite and it was great!! Very clean! It […] was close to Busch Stadium and in a good neighborhood. We walked to and from our hotel to and from Busch. Mehr

Very nice hotel. Pleasant staff, comfortable room/bed. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to others. Reasonable rates for downtown St. Louis -- close to convention center & other meeting locations as well as local landmarks. Some good restaurants close by as well.

We chose this hotel because it was close to a restaurant and some attractions we wanted to see over our anniversary weekend. We thought it would be a good choice (holiday inn usually is pretty decent); however we quickly found out we made the WRONG choice and we should've taken the warnings we read on the other hotel reviews. When we arrived, the staff […] did not seem to know how to do their job - the woman who checked us in was rude and literally tossed the hotel keys across the desk without a word. When we got to the room the bathroom walls were dirty and the room was small, not to mention loud (you could hear conversations in the hall, the kids playing in the pool - we had a room facing the atrium - and someone using the bathroom in the adjacent room). It was gross to say the least. We thought about leaving but decided to make the best of it. We left to enjoy our evening, but unfortunately when we returned to the hotel it was extremely loud (there seemed to be a party in the hotel, which was indicated by the drunk girl with the plastic barfing bag). Just wanting to go to sleep, we unfortunately arrived to a room that was 85 degrees. The cooling system malfunctioned and we called for someone to fix it. With no one "on call" to fix the air conditioner, they offered to switch us to a different room. We waited 15 minutes (they said they would be 'right up') and after practically melting in the room, we packed up and left to get the keys. After we met the apologetic hotel staff in the hallway with our new room keys, we went to our new room. The hotel staff had decided to give us a 'cooler' room...with a full size bed (I didn't realize that hotels still had full size beds...?)! Another disappointment - the bathroom was not clean (again!) and the lamp didn't work next to the bed. We realize that there will be little snags along the way when traveling; however this hotel had so many things that were unacceptable - I've paid less for a much better hotel. We would not st Mehr

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel needs some updating though. The 3rd floor is a smoking floor and we were not notified of that until the hallway and our room was overbearing with smoke smell and we asked to be moved. They came up at 12:00 at night and moved us to the 4th floor. The room they took us to was hot and stuffy and when […] we attempted to turn the air down, the unit was extremely noisy so they moved us to another room. This room seemed fine as far as the smell and the air conditioning so we decided to stay. Once settled in the room we noticed the bathtub had chips out of it and was rusting. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain properly and the smoke detector was placed over a hole larger than the unit itself. The tv was old and had some kind of circuit board hanging from the back side of it? The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The lobby has been updated and was great! So...overall probably will not stay there again. :( Mehr

This hotel is located very close to a ton of things you can do within walking distance of downtown... the convention center, the Arch, the riverfront, shopping, restaurants, professional baseball, professional football. The hotel does offer a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles... that is a nice benefit. It is not located on a main […] road, so you feel a little like you have gotten off the beaten path when you walk to the hotel. It is next to the back of the convention center where there is no access, a parking deck, and a parking lot. Still, you are only a block from the main street. The hotel charges you $15 / day to park your car. You park in the parking deck behind the hotel. The daily rate at the deck is only $10 / day. So it cost me $30 instead of $20 for leaving my car there 2 days. If I would have known in advance, I would have just parked in the deck and not told the hotel. Makes no sense to me why they would charge more than the going rate for the deck. Our room was a typical room with 2 double beds and a TV. They did have free WiFi. Nothing great, but it was clean and comfortable. One strange thing was that the room would always get hot at night. I can't help but wonder if they would turn off the air for a period to save some money. Both of us in the room felt like it got much warmer in the night than it did throughout the day. This happened 3 nights in a row. I tried turning it to a cooler setting at night and it always seemed to get warm at some point no matter what I did. Overall, the hotel was fine and I would probably stay there again for the price and location. Mehr

This hotel is within easy walking distance of everything in St. Louis and it's a clean place with friendly staff. The restaurant staff, in particular, make it a point to treat you like family (in a good way.) If you want to save money but get a quiet, comfy night's sleep, this place is your ticket.

Well I brought my son with me and he could not plug into the TV his Video game or DVD player since the TV had no AV Jacks. Also parking was not accommodating had to walk to hotel and car was out in a parking lot with not so inviting environment.

very courteous & friendly staff

Easy to get to Cardinals game and other downtown sights, but I was disappointed with minor details of stay. Original room wasn't ready (at 6:00 P.M.!) and the vending machines took money on two of five floors. I was refunded in full, however, at the front desk. The overall service from the staff was excellent!

first time i have stayed here. hotel was clean and quiet. pool was ok, small and very hot water. also it was locked a few times when it should have been open. PARKING was a block away and was an added $15 a night. when you wanted to leave you had to get your ticket validated at the front desk. hotel was up to date and clean. i would prob shop around […] before i stayed here again... There was no hot water to take a shower by the time of checkout. The front desk was less than helpful with this matter stating that the water heater needed to be manually reset every-so-often. I would not stay here again.

It was a bad experience which I wouldn't recommend to no one else.

The hotels right by Busch stadium are quite pricey. This hotel is about 10 blocks away and they have a free shuttle bus that takes and picks you up, it was awesome!!!

The rooms are comfortable, the location is good, the price is right... but the pool (lovely, there in the midst of the rooms, but too small for the hour-before-bedtime we spent there with a ton of other kids) doesn't open until 10am, which all but precludes a check-out-morning swim (which we love before getting back on the road). Seems like it would […] be easy enough to open at 7 or 8 (and ask parents to monitor volume). Still, a comfortable hotel, walking distance from City Museum. Mehr

We did not have air conditioning during our stay and it was about 95 degrees each day, we asked to have it looked at three times and nothing was done until our final night at about 11 pm. There also was no ice in the whole building except for at the bar.

I booked this room for a few girls getting away. The room wasnt available at check in time, the service in the bar/ restaurant was slow, and most dining tables by bar were dirty. Overall I would never stay here again:(

The rooms were very nice and the staff were fabulous. Near the Arch and right over the river from Pop's.

Would have been nice to be closer to downtown - but for the price, it was worth the walk. Couldn't control the temp in the room, but, it was still pretty comfortable.

our room was large, clean, had a queen bed and couch. it was very comfortable.

Hotel was generally good and clean. Room needed a little TLC: ie...Door was hard to open and close, toilet handle was loose, shower handle had some loose parts, etc.. Was there for an event at the Edward Jones Dome and location was very convenient.

The service could have been a little better at breakfast, and they charged too much for it. Otherwise it was O.K.

good hotel with a friendly staff. Don't bother with the negative commetns. I have stayed here several times with good experiences both times. The shuttle service is very good. Helpful staff

Friendly staff, clean room, great location, very convenient, will stay there again

We stayed at the Holiday Inn because it was the cheapest in the area. All in all, it was a decent value with no big complaints.

Great room for the price. The hotel "free' shuttle is worth the stay, especially if your not familiar with the area.
