In need of a new mattress

Our stay at the Super 8 hotel in Dover, Delaware, was exceptional. The only critique I have is that the bathroom ceiling fan/light was missing, and the bathroom tub faucet handle was broken. However, it worked well. The maid brought us more towels when we asked, and we were treated with dignity and respect. Although this hotel is in an excellent location if your plan is to attend a Dover Nascar race, it is not worth the money. This was by far the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed at. The wallpaper peeling off the walls, stains on the chairs and floor, and missing lap shades were only the beginning. It seemed as though there was a hole forming in the wall […] of the bathroom, and the tile was disgusting. The only positive aspect was the hot water in the dingy shower. STAY AWAY. Mehr

Upon our arrival at the desk to check in it took about 8 minutes for someone to attend to us... when they arrived they smelled as if they had just smoked a bowl. They gave us a room in the rear of the hotel and as we drove around back the rear parking lot was being used as an outdoor warehouse for a highway painting crew... so we had the pleasure of […] forklift and truck traffic a good part of the day and most notably early the next morning. as we reached the second floor we couldn't help but notice that the entire walkway had been covered with pieces of plywood painted grey.... interesting, but not very attractive. The room was okay and clean, but we could see light coming through the doorway and that poor seal did very little to cut down on the traffic noise below. The breakfast was a choice of Raisin Bran or Fruity Pebbles... and for the more daring... a few different types of pastries.... I had to use the "creamer" machine, which also had milk to get milk for my Raisin Bran. This is a hotel that one should expect to pay a rock bottom price for... which I didn't, unfortunately. The air conditioner worked good.... it helped drown out the traffic noise... Mehr

Very unhappy with the condition of the room. It was dirty, the toilet was about falling over, the bathroom with dirty....would not recommend this motel.

I dont now how many reviews its going to take for them to shut down this hotel. this was the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Rugs were not vaccum no lap shades on the laps, could hardly see out the windows, a hole in the base board (mice), bathroom was utley disgusting (not even clean enough to wash my dog in). Wall paper falling off the wall, was […] handed a can of spray because it was a smoking room and we asked for a non-smokin room We didnt stay longer to find other faults. Back parking lot looks like a giant ash tray. Mehr

The place was nothing spectacular but I did not expect that of it. It served it's purpse for me and that was having a place to catch a few winks after the NASCAR race and before driving home. The directions to get there were horrendous. That includes the ones from MapQuest as well as the ones from the hotel site and also my GPS. Make sure you get exact […] directions from a person and this place can serve the same purpose for you. Mehr

my only comment is that I ask for a smoking room and got a non smoking room to my diamay

The staff was helpful, however, we could not even take a bath......the water that came out of the spigot was horrible (had a terrible color and odor) and what water came out would not go down the drain......we put out our sign to have the room made up in the morning, but the room was never touched. Very bad stay at a hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I'm a fairly seasoned traveler. The first thing I did when I entered the room was pull down the bedspread. A spider crawled over the pillow. The room smelled like an ashtray. The wallpaper was pealing off the walls. The rug was sticky. […] The knob on the air-conditioner could not go all the way to coldest temperature, leaving the air temperature only slightly cool. Mehr

One gets what one pays for. A bed to sleep in and a shower were what we needed and what we got. The breakfast, while not gourmet, was actually quite nice. Staff pleasant. Neighborhood seemd OK, but when we arrived around 10 p.m., we noticed the clerk tucking his gun into his pocket as he unlocked the door.

I stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Milford, DE, only for one night while enjoying the latter part of Labor Day weekend in Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, DE. I was satisfied with the comfort of the bed, however, I found it odd that the coffee and tea, along with coffeemaker, were found in the bathroom. Furthermore, the location did not provide any dining amenities […] nearby; you basically were relegated to the beach for that. I was happy that the checkout procedure was quick and painless while the checkin procedure was adequate and relatively hassle-free. I would honestly say, overall, that if you are able to get a hotel closer to the beach, considering the bare-bones approach of the Super 8, you might want to pursue that first, but if you are unable to find anything close to the beach, then the Super 8 is not an overall bad option. Unfortunately this is the only hotel between Dover and Lewes and I think that is the only thing going for it. The place was filthy. Trash cans in the hallways were not emptied. Vending machines were broken. Coffee pots, including the ones in the office/continental breakfast area, were filthy. The curtain rod in our room was hung up with duct tape. There […] were cigarette burns on the walls (!?). The bedside lamp shade had a big hole in it. The shower was dirty and the ceiling fan was missing altogether. Mehr

We booked this hotel about 4 days before we wanted to stay, and it was a good deal in the middle of July when the rates are so high. The breakfast is mainly packaged pastries, muffins, and doughnuts, but it tides you over. The bathroom was a bit small, but the bed was comfy, the place was clean, and the staff was nice.

Overall, our party decided this was a place to stay for one night and we would not return again. One of our rooms had dirty underwear hanging in the bathroom from a previous guest. One room smelled very musty and looking at the linens in both rooms, we did not feel comfortable that the sheets had been changed on the beds and if they were they did not […] look clean. There were also other guests in the hotel that night that did not respect other guests in the hotel. They were outside in parking lot being very loud and screaming during the middle of the night. One of our guest did try the continental breakfast served and he was not impressed. Mehr

It was what we needed-a place to stay. Nothing to brag about.
