The New Casablanca on the Ocean - Miami Beach

Positiv ist die Lage des Hotels. Auch ist die Einrichtung der Küche ist OK. Für den Preis findet man schwer was besseres. Aber man darf keinen Luxus erwarten. Auch ist der Pool schon (in die Jahre gekommen) - aber trotzdem gut. Für Familien mit etwas älteren Kindern ideal.

Das Hotel liegt direkt Meer, die Aussicht von unserem Zimmer aus war fantastisch. Auch der Strandabschnitt vor dem Hotel ist toll. Leider wurde das Zimmer an keinem der 5 Tage, die wir da waren, sauber geputzt. Das Personal war aber sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Hotel liegt ein wenig zu weit weg vom Zentrum! Badezimmer war sehr alt - mit Schimmel! Andere Gäste waren in der Nacht sehr laut, dass man nicht schlafen konnte! Sonst sehr nettes Personal, Poolanlage und Strand war super - gerade beim Hotel! Parkhaus war überfüllt - wir mussten auf einem öffentlichen Parkplatz unser Auto parkieren.

Etwas veraltetes Hotel. Swimmingpool gross. Frühstücksangebot bei inkl. ist minimal. Fenster in den Zimmer können NICHT geöffnet werden dadurch muffiger Geruch da die Klimaanlage alt ist. Hotelangestellte sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

The beds were great! But the restaurant staff that was in the hotel was rude. The staff of the hotel was ok..great location on the beach..

The location of this hotel is great - right on beautiful Miami Beach and the pool was very nice. The staff was accommodating and friendly but this hotel is in desperate need of updating. We were upgraded to a suite which was a pleasant surprise but the suite was pretty tired. It was amazingly spacious but the couches looked like something you might […] pick up off the side of the road. The roof top (10th floor) patio associated with the suite was pretty awesome - huge with excellent views. If you are looking for this location, you can get it here for a decent price if you don't mind outdated, tired decor. Mehr

The hotel room, bathroom are all dusty, old. The ventilation system has not been cleaned for a long time, it blows dust and dirt all over which can be seen everywhere in the room and bathroom posing great health hazard. not bad, but when we upgraded to a ocean-view room we expected more.

For the rate that we received, The New Casablanca on the Ocean was an exceptional deal. When you factor in all the positives aspects of the hotel, its definitely worth the stay. The hotel was spacious and welcoming, the room was very clean with many amenities, the heated pool was great, and there was direct access to the ocean. We were slightly disappointed […] with the pricing of the bar and the fact there was no happy hour. But the biggest drawback was the certainly the lack of adequate parking. Even with paid valet, it was quite inconvenient. So once we had the car parked, we simply walked around during our stay. If we were to stay again, it would be best to take a taxi there. Mehr

Poorly maintained. Filthy bathrooms. Dusty windows... Front desk very rude. Terrible continental breakfast, poor quality an very limited items on the menu.

The world famous Casablanca Hotel abandoned its opulence long time ago. We stayed at one of the “penthouses” with the “ocean view”. On the positive note the staff was friendly and the place we rented was very spacious. But, there are many negatives: • After we checked in, we found a stranger doing laundry in our room. The person had a key to the room […] and left without providing an explanation. The management could not provide an explanation either and decided to change the locks on the doors. • The room has a kitchen which came with a broken and smelly garbage disposal and complementary cockroaches. • The room itself is very specious but unattractive. Everything is old and in dire need of proper upkeep. • There was patio … with no patio furniture. • No working WiFi in the rooms. • There is a bar downstairs, where the only patron is the bartender himself. • As for free breakfast provided by the hotel … you are better off cooking something in that dirty kitchen. In summary the Casablanca Hotel is dirty and old looking, and the staff, although friendly, does not seem to care much about anything. A room at motel 8 would be an upgrade. Mehr

Only stayed one night, double beds seemed small for two people. Great location on the beach, close to shopping and south beach.

Rooms are very congested and service people don't understand the English so its very hard to ask for any help.

The Good, right on the beach, clean room, was great price for what you get. The Bad, you can here everything in the rooms above you and the side of you, no privacy had to call to have them stop the riot that was going on in a room above us. the parking is valet so you have to wait each time to get car and they bunch up at the entrance really a pain […] would rather walk to the lot. it is far from south beach and action. Bed was soft but sunk in the middle. small bed. Room is old needs updating no bar of soap in room, they have a wall dispenser with liquid soap. Continental breakfast is ok it is good if you want to stay on the beach and have access, i would not stay again there are too many other hotels with better location and nicer rooms for a little bit more. It was okay at the time of my travelling, the price and location was fair enough.

Everything in the rooms, lifts, lobby bears signs of a half hearted effort at upgrade, if not plain neglect. Smelly room, leaking toilet, intermittently working safe box. They slapped a new paint on the walls (the contractor was clueless of such technology as masking tape) but bathroom, closet and entrance door looked like straight from 50's. The breakfast […] room is gloomy, to use a polite word. Overall, not even close to what can be called resort ambiance at all. During the Christmas week a room with the view of seven eleven store was priced above a luxury hotel in Hawaii. Beware. Mehr

The rooms were old, looked like they have converted apartments into hotel rooms. There were plenty of kitchen stuff like plates, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc. Also, it is close to beach. They did not have any parking left when we reached so we had to park in a nearby public parking which was not free. The parking person asked us to park in […] front of the hotel and they called and knocked the door at 12:30AM in the night to tell us you cannot park here. There was NO PARKING ANYTIME board and 2 cars were parked in front of it and they distrubed our sleep and asked us to move our car. Poor service! Mehr

We booked the hotel online for 3 nights with a baby with us. We checked in late night and found the beds being ages old, the spings were squakingly disturing and felt like we were playing jumping jack all night. TV was old fashioned CRT with horrible resolution. But the next morning when we requested front desk they were able to move us into a remodelled […] room with kind bed. This was the room that was similar to one shown online. Much cleanier and better bed. Location is close to the beach, 7-11 opposite to the road. That helped to get some stuff easily. I would say the hotel is away from South Beach where all the fun is, but we knew that in advance and also were aware that they charge $17 extra per day for parking. So overall, I would say its a good deal for the price provided you get the REMODELED room. Also check for prices on the last day. I had to pay more to hotels dot com because I booked in advance and they would not price match b/c I had already checked in before calling them. Mehr

This hotel is located very close to the beach, and have its private entrance hereto. Kind staff and good restaurant. The rooms are a bit outdated and need maintenace, but appears very clean. A recommendable choice if you're on a budget.

Room was great ,excellent value and good location.

We stayed at this hotel for one night after a cruise it had great beach access and a very nice pool. However, check-in is not until 4pm however i did see staff giving preferential treatment for other guest giving rooms at 2pm. The rooms were dated but clean and overall it was a good value very nice and convenient neighborhood. It was a hassle to try […] to print boarding passes with older model computer system. Mehr

After reading the reviews I was skeptical. However, everything was like a normal hotel. The rooms were nice and the kitchen a plus. Only negative thing was that the walls are paper thin. The beach access was so convenient. There is also a gas station across the street. The location is kind of far from any walk-able restaurants so we had to take a cab. […] It was about a $16 cab to south Beach. If you take the bus it is cheaper $2 each way but takes more time. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Mehr

First look is "This place looks cool" After checking in it went the other way. The elevator that was the most often to be available was the staff elevator. It was working that is about the best thing I can say. The room, was fine except for the bed was freaking hard and uncomfortable. The AC worked but did not get the room cool. Street front was noisy […] but not real bad. The eatery at the hotel was good, staff friendly cost was not to bad. The best thing about the hotel is walking out the back gate onto the beach. We did not use the pool but it was clean and nice. It was an ok stay, not sure I would go back to Miami Beach for vacation. Mehr

front desk was excellent; I had a handicapped person with us and they made sure we had a guaranteed parking space without charge. Pool was very nice and so close to the beach; and the security in the hotel made us feel safe.

The pool and food was good. However, the room carpets and appliances were old and disgusting....need to be replaced.

locations good. Close to the beach and 5 miles from south beach. The quality of everything in the hotel (except lobby)is as low as you can imagine and most often simply broken. Example: carpet in room torn and very dirty. If this is not important for you, this hotel is cheap compared to others on the beach. Otherwise, look for someting else

I stayed at this hotel with my family, the staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean and the pool was nice and big also clean, which was one of the important things for me. I will stay here again.

the staff was rude! they lied to me about the air being broken. i had to change hotel at 2 am. hotel smelled horrible and everything was old. if someone kicked the door it would open right away the locks were rotten. terrible experience!

When we arrived there was no AC. We were given box fans. The fridge in the room didn't get cold. Even after maintence was called. There was limited ice. You had to get this from the front desk. At one time I was told I could buy ice from the store. Ocean access was great as was their pool. Beyond that not nice at all.

The AC did not work in our room in the lobby or anywhere! We were there the last week in July and it was awful. We were glad that we had one window we could open so we could have a small breeze over night. Also they charge $17 to park your car. However, they rent these spaces out to people not staying in the hotel so we had to try to find parking for […] over and hour before we demanded they do something about finding us a parking spot. They did not charge us for the parking (the only good think I can mention). Overall it was awful! will never go back! Mehr

Stayed during the 4th July holiday - family checking in before me (was not allowed to check in until 4:00 on the dot; hotel did not have parking space for them. Apparently this hotel does not have sufficient parking spaces for the amount of rooms they rent. Very disappointed. A/C in room was not cold at all.
