Das Hotel war sauber und zentral gelegen. Durch die gut isolierten Fenster war der Strassenlärm kaum hörbar. Für einen "Kultururlaub" genau das richtige.

Sehr gut gelegen, relativ kurze Wege ín die City/Altstadt. Frühstücksbüffet ausreichend. Zimmer sehr hellhörig, soweit es das Nebenzimmer betraf. Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und man kann viele Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen. Das Zimmer war allerdings sehr klein und das Bad samt Dusche extrem klein. Außerdem ist das Haus sehr hellhörig und man hört so ziemlich alles, was sich in Nebenzimmern abspielt. Wir wurden im sog. "New Angel" untergebracht, was sich eine Straßenecke weiter befindet. Gegenüber ist eine Snackbar in der es leckeren Kaffee und alles, was man sonst noch so benötigt anbietet. Das Hotel Sant Angelo in Rom liegt zwar sehr zentral (Justiz Palast, Engelsburg und Vatikan in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar), aber das Hotel, welches sich über mehrere Etagen verteilt, verfügt über einen viel zu kleinen Frühstücksraum, bei entsprechender Belegung. Das Frühstück selbst, ist für italienische Verhätnisse gut und ausreichend. Das Personal […] ist freundlich und bemüht. Die Zimmer sind etwas eng und die Duschen sowie die Toiletten nicht ganz auf deutschem Niveau. Des weiteren sind die Zimmer sehr hellhörig, so dass der Fernseher und das Singen anderer Gäste arg stört. Das Hotel lag nicht direkt zentral in der Nähe der Altstadt von Rom, dennoch konnte man mithilfe von Bus und Metro innerhalb von 15 min. zum Kapitol/Plaza Venezia gelangen. Zu Fuß war man schon innerhalb von 10 min. an der Spanischen Treppe/Petersdom. Das Hotel besteht aus 2 Gebäuden, wobei in einem Haus nur die 1. Etage mit Zimmern ausgestattet ist. […] Im anderen Haus sind dann über mehreren Etagen die Rezeption und der Frühstücksraum sowie mehrere Zimmer. Unser Zimmer waren im Nebengebäude. Das Zimmer bot alles was man brauchte. Neben einen Safe, gabs TV und einen Kühlschrank. Das Bad ist etwas klein, v.a. die Dusche ist sehr eng mit ca. 55x70cm. Ins Zimmer erhält man nur wenig Tageslicht, da das Fenster etwas schmal ist und zum Hinterhof zeigt. Negativ am Zimmer war die Hellhörigkeit. LauteTV's aus Nebenzimmer, Geräusche vom Flur/Übermieter waren leider sehr gut zu hören. Das Frühstück war unserer Meinung nach das beste, welches wir in Italien gegessen haben. Neben süßen Speißen, wurden auch herzhafte Speißen (Eier, Käse, Mozarella/Tomate, Wurst) bereitgestellt. Weiterhin gab es sogar Kuchen. Ingesamt war das Hotel völlig in Ordnung, mit Ohrerpacks lässt es sich dann früh auch länger schlafen und mit dem Frühstück gut in den Tag starten. Mehr

Sant Angelo ist insgesamt ein niedliches, relativ zentral gelegenes Hotel mit freundlichem Service.....soweit so gut. Wir hatten ein TV auf dem Zimmer mit einem Programm. Unsere Bitte, dass da mal jemand gucken kommen möge, wurde geflissentlich überhört. Ist ja erst mal nichts Schlimmes nur MTV sehen zu können, dass aber auf Beschwerden der Hotelgäste […] so überhaupt nicht reagiert wird, empfinde ich als Ausdruck mangelnden "Dienstleistungsbewusstseins". Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt ist die Schließanlage des Hotels. The hotel is not located where Hotels.com led me to believe, nor does it have the views shown in the pictures on Hotels.com's website. Hotel room was not in the main building, it was two blocks away. We booked 4 hotels through hotels.com for a two week vacation in Italy. This was the most expensive. The hotel Sant' Angelo was the pitts. It was misrepresented on the web site and by no means was a 3.7 rating. First of all the room was so small that when my wife went to the bathroom she would hit my feet when I was in bed. Next was the bathroom, It […] was a closet. The shower stall had mold in it and the shower curtain would not close due to a make shift curtin rod. There was only one(1) suitcase stand with no where to put a second suitcase. I also read something on the desk that was left out by mistake and it showed hostil prices. This hotel should be removed from hotels.com listings. When I complained at the desk I was told they were full and no other rooms were availble for my stay. It should have no star rating. The location is great - away from the touristiest areas yet within a 10 minute walk. Surrounding area is very pretty and fun to discover. We requested a quiet room off the courtyard but were given one right above the street. We had to press the manager to exchange after one night, because the rooms have paper-thin walls and you can hear everything happening […] in the next room (everything!) Also you can hear everyone doing their business in the bathroom (everything!). After we insisted we were given another room which was quieter but still not great. The wi-fi signal in the hotel is very weak, we could not use any of our devices. Most egregious is the breakfast. I have traveled in Italy for years and this is the worst breakfast I've ever encountered - old cold cuts, fake/cheap pastries and absolutely the worst coffee in all of Italy. It tasted like mud. This is the first hotel that I had to go to one location to get the room key and go to another location down the block for my room. We chose this hotel based on past reviews and its central location to the sights we wanted to see. Boy, were we blown away! Service: we did order room service. However the staff was more than welcome to provide us recommendations and directions to local attractions. Many of them were bilingual. Cleanliness/condition: the room was as expected. Clean, […] with no signs of wear or worn out items. The rooms have universal plugs compatible with US plugs without adapters (don't forget, it's still 220 volts). Our only gripe was that on one night the hot water didn't work. They fixed it within an hour, though. Food: we elected to pre-purchase breakfast with our reservation. Impressed would be an understatement! Two staff members tended to a room of eight tables (16 seats). All the foods were freshly prepared, including the bread. Plus, by the second day, they had our coffee preferences memorized. By the way, they fresh-made each cappuccino or latte. No cheap, automated machine for this hotel! Overall: excellent experience! Great location, but the hotel is in a big building with the doors at each floor always open. It was freezing cold and the heat is kept off in the communal areas the entire time. Would recommend only in the summer if you are looking for a cheap accommodation in a central area of the city.

The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. Every night they had free wine and light snacks for their guests and some of the staff circulated and spoke with the guests. The buffet breakfast was the best I've had with eggs, selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and pastries. The staff was very helpful, and were fluent in english. The location is good, close to bus stops but walking distance to all of the sights. The neighborhood was quiet at night. The elevator is small, as most i saw in italy, and we were on the 3rd floor which got tiring after a full day of walking.

This was a disappointing experience having just been pampered on a cruise and choosing to spend 1 more night in Rome and being greeted by a very long line at check in and people yelling at the overwhelmed hotel clerk. Hotel is truly situated near main attractions. It took 15-20 minutes to get to Vatican, as well as sights across the river. Colisseum was our 'furthest' sight, and we took the metro (1.50 euros one way). The hotel room was clean...the issues we had were 1) the leaking tub that would make a puddle after each shower, 2) the lack of hot water on most occasions […] (probably best to shower 6-8am to get any hot water) and 3)the constant sound of water in the wall pipes...made it hard to fall asleep...We didn't have breakfast at hotel so can't comment on that. We were very happy with our stay at the Hotel Sant'Angelo and would definitely stay again! This was our first trip to Rome and the hotel's great location provided easy walks to all of the sites we wanted to see. Our room was clean and had lovely crisp white bed linens. Room was tidy; furniture a bit scuffed up. What really got us though, was that the room was in a building down the block from where the reception was. And neither building had a visible, obvious entrance. The room building required going through an outer door, up stairs, then another keyed door (shared building), and then into the room. This hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. It is in a great neighborhood with great restaurants and cafes away from the tourists areas. The nearest metro is about 10-15 minutes away on the Red Line (Lepanto Stop). The hotel staff was absolutely fantastic. For Rome, this room was very clean and spacious. We would stay here again.

Great for a city centre hotel. We were looking for a decent place with a good price and location - and we got it. Yes - the bathroom is small - but clean. The location was good and we loved the hotel decor, enourmous wooden doors and huge staircase. We stayed in the annex which is only about 10 doors down. kids loved the lift, i refused to go in it! The staff is simply wonderful. There is no language barrier. The hotel is extremely difficult to locate in it's little alley, but most are situated as such. Initially, we arrived late via cab and were taken to the "annex" portion of the hotel. We booked the hotel instead of a hostel in order to have air conditioning. There was no air in this room which […] had to be 100 degrees with the window open. We spoke with the reservation clerk the next day and we immediately placed in the "hotel" portion with a very quaint room: mini-fridge, working AC, but a bathroom smaller than a cruise ship. Our linens and bedding were clean and fresh...no need for bedbug spray. Do NOT expect a hotel comparable to the USA...this is more of a clean dorm room. There are no amenities: no ice machines, no vending dispensers, no in-room coffee makers. We did have a mini-fridge and there was a computer in the hallway. We were here for 6 nights and though minimal in regards to US expectations, we were close to everything with wonderful restaurants nearby. Expect to walk plenty of steps, and there is no insulation regarding noise...forget your previous stay at the Marriott...this again, is more of a dorm room type situation. The breakfast offered each am by the reservation desk is wonderful, and the staff are welcoming and pleasant. The food is fresh, plentiful, and regardless of culture, accommodating to all. My wife and I spent 1 afternoon and night in Rome after getting off the cruise ship on Saturday morning. The Hotel Sant'Angelo was the PERFECT location for us! We had only a 20 minute walk to the Vatican, 20 minutes to the Collosseum, and only 15 minute walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Novona.
