Vom Hotel Topas in Frankfurt ist man in 3 Minuten am Hauptbahnhof und hat Verbindung in alle Richtungen. Das Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich (wirklich angenehm!). Beim Frühstück habe ich dieses "Auf-den-Gast-Zugehen" ein wenig vermisst. Andererseits mag ich auch keine Aufdringlichkeiten. Der Teppichboden sah etwas "derangiert" aus - aber das ist wohl bei länger liegenden Teppichböden so. Was mir nicht gefallen hat, war der leichte Ansatz […] eines Schimmels an den Badezimmerkacheln bzw. in den Fugen. Nach hinten 'raus (Zi. 11) war es ruhig - sehr gut! Preisgünstiges Stadthotel in direkter Nähe zum Bahnhof. Parkplätze sind auch im Umfeld zu finden. Restaurant-Möglichkeiten befinden sich in der Nähe. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß, einfach aber ausreichend eingerichtet. Sauberkeit war ok.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen,check in dauerte 2 minuten.Nach Verlust einer Geldbörse half uns ein Mitarbeiter trotz Dienstschluss beim Suchen.Rezeption sehr bemüht bei Fragen und super nett. Für eine Übernachtung nähe Bahnhof ohne grossen Komfort ist dieses Hotel sehr gut. Es ist nur ein paar Minuten vom Bahnhof gelegen und begeisterte uns mit einem grossen Frühstücksbuffet.

Bett und Bad sauber, das ist immer das Wichtigste. Zimmergröße völlig ok, Frühstück guter Durchschnitt mit viel frischem Obst. Preis/Leistung gut bis sehr gut. Wenn man den heißesten Tag des Jahres erwischt, hat man ohne KA natürlich Pech. Kostenloses Parken von Fr-17 bis Mo-9 direkt vor dem Haus.

Das Zimmer war schon etwas abgewohnt, aber ansonsten recht ordentlich. Für einen Messebesuch perfekt. Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

sauberes Hotel, zentral am Hauptbahnhof gelegen, reichhaltiges und gutes Frühstücksbuffet, mein Einzelzimmer war unten im Parterre zum Hinterhof, man konnte das Fenster nicht auflassen, weil es leicht gewesen wäre, dort einzusteigen - für ängstliche Leute nicht so geeignet.

Wenn man nur so wenig zahlt bekommt man auch nicht viel. Zimmer ist klein und Einrichtung ist nicht neu. Lage und Umgebung sind aber sehr gut. Sehr nah am Bahnhof

Das Hotel Topas weist ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf. Die Lage ist ideal für Zugreisende, da der Bahnhof zu Fuss in 5 Minuten erreichbar ist, obwohl die Umgebung nicht gerade die feinste ist.. Bei unserem Aufenthalt glich der Zugang zu unserem Zimmer im Dachgeschoss einer Baustelle - einer steilen! Die als 'Schmutzschleuse' auf den […] Boden gelegten Badetücher im Treppenhaus wirkten nicht sehr einladend. Das Zimmer selber war allerdings sehr sauber und geräumig, ebenso das Bad. Nettes Personal, Hotel gut gelegen, das Apartment war sehr gross für den Preis. Alles mehr als nur in Ordnung!

We stayed at this hotel on an April day when the high hit 83 degrees, and was stunned to find out that there was no air conditioning. (There was an portable fan stored in a closet.) We wanted to keep the window open during the night, but someone in the neighborhood started playing music very loud after 1:00 am. We had to close the window and make the […] full use of the fan. Literally a 3 minute walk from the main train station tons of restaurants around and fast food and starbucks at the train station. Great breakfast, super friendly English speaking staff, huge bathtub, comfy double bed. I loved this hotel and its service. The only minor issues I had was the bathrooms don't have washcloths and for the internet requires you to relogin to often. Other than this everything was fine. The internet worked perfectly and shower flow was strong. This is the perfect destination if you are going to be in Frankfurt for a short time. The neighborhood […] or block where hotel is located is safe and I had no issues there. The only thing I didn't notice when I was there the first night was that my hotel window was already open so I was a little cold during the night even with the heater on. I noticed the next day the window was open so check and make sure window is closed when you get there or when going to sleep. Mehr

The hotel is not expensive, has a good breakfast and a good room.

This was one of the most pleasant hotel stays I've had. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Internet and pretty good breakfast were included to the price which was one of the cheapest in the area. Only five minutes walk to the trainstation from where you can get the train to the airport. While not in the most picturesque part of Frankfurt, it is 1 block north of the Hauptbahnhof and is in the middle of non-German restaurants: Thai, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, and Pizza -- of course--giving the more seasoned budget traveler options for dining other than going to a pub for pub fare, which is great too. My only complaint was that my room was […] terribly smokey the first day I was there and I went to get a scented candle to deal with the air quality problem. The staff were nice, the breakfast was ample, and I felt that I and my belongings were safe there. A good choice for the price. Mehr

Quite easy to find this hotel and feels safe as it's pretty near the main road and many branded hotels too. Less than a 10min walk from train station. Good enough for budget travelers needing overnight stay. Desk workers were helpful and spoke enough English to meet my needs. Free wi-fi, which is awesome considering I stayed in much more expensive hotels during my trip which did not have it. Good, cheap hotel for one night. Only problem is that the hotel allows smoking, eventhough we stayed at in a "non-smoker" room, everything stinked of cigaretts..

booked online, didn't know others, but this one I am satisfied by I paid compare to prices listed for nearby hotels. convenient, 3 minute sto Train station, 20minute to Messe. Basically you can go anywhere in Frankfurt from there, 3.9 euro to airport by train, 30euro by taxi. Hotel was located within a few minutes from the main frankfurt train station, a lot of little shops around the area, breakfast was reasonable and a walk to downtown frankfurt was very nice from the hotel. Well received by the staff and fair priced.

The Topas Hotel is within easy walking distance of the north exit of the main Frankfurt train station. The single room is very comfortable. The breakfast is very adequate and the free internet service works perfectly.

near the train station which was good, and the hotel staff were amazing. get rid of the dirty couch in the room. finally, when someone books a double bed , please have the courtesy to put them together and put a double sheet over the 2 joined beds

This hotel is close to the Hauptbahnhof for quick trips to the airport.

The hotel is very basic. To get to my room, I had to take an elevator to the 4th floor, exit through the emergency exit, climb a spiral staircase that was under consrtuction, to get to my room. The room was large, but the attic's sloping roof made both showering and toilet functions very difficult. Dragging a bag up a narrow spiral staircase was not […] easy, either. The room was quite large but very sparsely furnished. Breakfast was quite good. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. I might stay again, but would investigate options before deciding. I have stayed in Frankfurt several times before and the other hotels were a little better. If you do stay, keep out of the attic! Mehr

The lady in the front desk was very rude. When we reached there we asked for double bed room instead of twin bed. While booking we have mentioned that we need double bed. She refused it ver rudely. Breakfast is o.k. Locality is not so good. But overall stay was good.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. After traveling and staying in hotels in Paris and Amsterdam, we were expecting another extremely small room, but this room was quite large and very clean. The floor and couch had some stains, but this was not a real concern to us since the bathroom was pristine. It was also a great advantage for us to have free […] WiFi at this hotel -- few other hotels we stayed at had WiFi access and if they did, they charged a premium for it. As I mentioned, the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the Frankfurt Main Am train station. One point to note is that if you are coming from the airport you can essentially take any inbound train and it will get you to Frankfurt Main Am, but on the way back to the Airport, you are limited to one or two trains. This turned out to be a problem for us (we cut our timing a little too close) and we ended up taking a cab ride. It was a relatively short ride (~15minutes) and cost about 25euros -- not too bad considering we were desperate. All in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I am in Frankfurt and would recommend it to others. Mehr

The room was like an oversized closet with a bathroom. It wasn't dirty, but was a bit run-down. I would say you get what you pay for.

I really loved this little hotel. 5 min walk to Frankfurt Hbf, friendly staff, tasty simple breakfast, fresh apples at front desk, clean and new feeling, small nice comfortable room, and as other reviewers before me said [thank you to them by the way] this hotel is not in a bad or seedy feeling area near train station that other hotels I've stay at […] before unfortunately have. No offers of drugs or sex from people on street, felt comfortable and safe here. Great places to eat just steps away, I went out front door of the hotel, turned left and then right at the corner and halfway down the block I found a delicious Indian all you can eat buffet 7 Euros. Little store across the street from restaurant sold beers and sodas to take back to the room *******Also, a tip for first time travelers unfamiliar with getting back to FRA airport via main train station-do not try to pay for train ticket back to airport with credit card. People at airport train ticket station always nice and helpful, no problem getting to Hbf tran station for 3.80 in less than 30 min. But at main train station, there are green tickets machines that you need Euro coins to buy your ticket with, they are very strict about it there. I ran out of coins, no cash, had to use credit card. The middle aged male ticket agent at the main train station could not have been more of a jerk. Wow, it was hard not to talk back, but I needed his help and I was as nice and apologetic as I could be. He charged 5.80 Euro instead of 3.80 due to credit card fee, which was fine with me, but I did not hear the end of it from him until I could finally walk away with my ticket. #@$%&* He intentionally, in my opinion, sent me to a train that took much longer than it should have and I almost missed my flight. I found that I needed to take S8 or S9 lines back to FRA airport. He sent me to platform 103 and it took an extra hour due to having to backtrack, thankfully other travelers are always nice and helpful and I asked ?'s and got o Mehr

I loved the Hotel Topas. Why? Well, first, there's location, location, location. I have stayed at inexpensive hotels on Baseller Str. before. that street is also walking distance from the train station but away from the red light area on the other side. That was fine, but Baseller Str. is a big, heavily trafficked street. Niddastr. is a real find location-wise. […] It is a nice quiet street behind the station. Little traffic, but you are at the station in minutes by foot [especially if you go the back way direct to the tracks]. And you are completely away from the seedy area in front of the station. Second, the people running it are extremely courteous and friendly, from the desk staff to cleaning to breakfast. Third, breakfast! Not that many inexpensive hotels offer an included breakfast. This one, with unlimited refills on coffee and a buffet that is quite substantial. Fourth, there is a wonderful pizza place run by a real Italian guy down the street from the Topas, and in the summer he has a tent set out over the street for dining. For 5 Euros he offers real oven-fired Italian-style pizzas in dozens of topping varieties, made top order. Fifth, there is a fridge in the room, always handy for the budget traveller. Sixth, there is a vending machine in the lobby by the elevator with everything from snacks to beer and apple wine; and the front desk always has a bowl of apples to offer its guests gratis. As for down side, the only down side I noticed was that the couches they put in each room looked pretty worn and ditto the carpet. There is no A/C, but they did put fans in the rooms, which helped a lot. Clearly, if you want to have a luxury hotel, this is not it. But if you want a budget hotel that is safe, convenient and central, with full breakfast and nice people taking care of you, I defy you to beat it. Mehr
