We love this hotel. We travel to Tucson from Phoenix a couple times each year and the Westward Look is our first choice. The rooms were completely renovated a few years back and they are holding up beautifully. Our King Desert View suite was spacious and spotless. AC was super cold (yay). Our bathroom was large with a shower option only. Great water […] pressure. Mini fridge provided to hold snacks and beverages. There is a Safeway and a CVS nearby which is super convenient. Plenty of restaurant and art gallery opportunities near by as well. Beautiful desert surroundings. Super nice resort. We have never been disappointed here... "not what i was expecting"
This was not the resort I was thinking it would be. Our room and most of the rooms that are not on the pool.....seem to be lacking a lot in view. I called the office when I arrived to see if we could get a better view but the only rooms with a view seemed to be by the pool and those were booked. There was not a lot of pretty plants or flowers....it […] was dirt and desert. I do realize we are in the desert but I've lived here for 30 years and the landscaping was definitely LACKING. Around the main pool was very nice and had lovely flowers. The second pool...it was awful. The whirlpool .......had pavers laying in a stack inside the door and again..ugly view. overall.....I felt that the whole place needed and update. I've been coming here for over 30 years. The location is serene especially if you enjoy the desert location. Only had a day to enjoy it wish I had more. I'll be back though. The staff was always friendly and helpful. My only complaint I guess was the bed was not comfortable. I like a much firmer mattress and this one I sunk into. We picked a great time to stay at the resort. I felt we almost had the whole place to ourselves. The grounds and gardens were very nice. The great horned owls roosting in the trees was a real treat to see and made the experience memorable. The bed was very comfortable and the overlooking view of Tucson at night was spectacular. The people that work […] there were very friendly and welcoming, making me miss living in Tucson. Overall a very nice stay. Nice stay. Been staying at the Westward Look for many years and was apprehensive that it had run dow. Was very happy to see it hadn't and that everything was still up-to-dte. Room was nice and fresh, no odors. this is very important. Also the furniture was updated and pleasant. Room was clean, Plenty of hot water and towels. "Great Location, Views, Privacy"
Overall, very good! Very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms were very clean, nice linens/bedding. Minor irritation was the closet was too narrow for regular size hangers so attempting to slide open closet doors would constantly twist and hang-up the hangers. Did miss a bathtub although the shower was very nice, really prefer bathtub in-room also. Chef's […] garden was nice to walk through - ALL Staff from waiters/waitresses to maid, cleanup crews and maintenance were friendly, helpful and attentive as well as professional and hard-working. Perhaps not being used to the climate had trouble with room temperature and being comfortable. Very comfortable mattress and pillows - great comforter and linens but comforter was very warm and just using a sheet would be too cool - a mid-weight blanket in-between would have helped without having to adjust room temp all the time. While staff seemed to work nearly 24-7 both on grounds and inside, they were quiet as possible! In-room amenities were great - nice quality lotions, soaps - Food was fantastic, well prepared and not terribly over priced. Staff in the bar/lounge food area were fantastic - after several days of staying there they would remember our names and were very personable! All areas were always clean in the lobby and patio areas - the appointed staff to the conference I attended there worked hard and did an outstanding job for the CEAC Ag Center Conference - CLASS ACT! The hotel is in a beautiful area with amazing views. The room is dated and needs some work. It was pretty clean however the lighting in the bathroom was poor and the bath tub filled with water when I was taking a shower. The fridge had a rack that fell off everytime I opened the door. Then when putting my suitcase in the closet a large dirty bath tub […] access panel fell off and landed in my suitcase that was open getting my clothing dirty. "Terrible"
The "resort" looks NOTHING like the photos. We actually had to ask someone if it was the same property in the photos. The rooms have no views, design is poor, in the middle of no where. Pool area and restaurant are disgusting and look NOTHING like the photos online. When we arrived at check-in time, our rooms weren't ready for a half hour, and then […] they gave us a room that had someone else's luggage in it. Another time, a doorman came and bagged on our door multiple times, ended up being the wrong guests he was looking for. Just generally very disappointed. Thought it wasn't worth the cost at all. I have stayed at this hotel several times. This time when I arrived having made my reservations through Hotels.com, the front desk told me that the type of room I requested was not available. After getting my confirmation slip out to show them they apologized but said there was nothing they could do. It took requesting to see the manager to make the […] room suddenly available to us. So I suggest that you take your confirmation with you. The grounds of the hotel were lovely. They could pay some attention to getting new pool furniture and having more than 3 umbrellas around the main pool. They seemed a bit understaffed. The rooms were rather dark even with the 2 lamps on. "Big, clean, beautiful rooms"
I had previously stayed in the Omni, and while I prefer the grounds there, these rooms are even better. The bedrooms are large (at least the junior suite I stayed in) with fluffy white linens and big bathrooms. The freebie bath items are nice! There was a complimentary lip gloss and an array of shampoos and such. The shower was big and powerful, but […] unfortunately the showerhead is arranged in such a way that you get sprayed in the face with cold water when you turn the shower on. "Hiking an d golfing ,great location"
Loved it for the most part, the room was lovely just Ike the photos.the leather furniture we found to squeak loudly when sat upon ,hard to be quiet for the person sleeping !that said we enjoyed our stay, loved the hot tub (even if it did hail while sitting in it )another experience! The dining room is in a lovely location , so nice to watch the city […] lights yet be remote.Staff was super helpful when called upon,thank you .the bathroom setup was perfect ,shower super large ,even sat out side to enjoy the sights of the desert .keep up the good work, we certainly will recommend the Westward look Wyndham . "Good value when on sale"
The resort is showing it's age as maintenance is falling behind a bit but overall it's still in good shape. This place seems to be designed to cater to the elderly and smaller conferences. Food at the resort is better than average but the staff make you feel very comfortable. The key for this place I believe is it's location. Their restaurant leaves much to be desired.. every day i ordered something it came out different and they have items listed they did not even have. Very bad for supposedly an upscale hotel. We could not even eat in their restaurant because it was valentines day and they were booked with outside reservations.. The only thing I could wish different was that the two beds were queens rather than doubles. At this price point I was disappointed to sleep in such narrow beds for five days.
