Auf den ersten und auch zweiten Blick ein sehr schönes Hotel. Auf den dritten Blick ist der Lack leider etwas angekratzt: in den Ecken löst sich Tapete, das Bad nicht heizbar und da das Fenster zum dunklen Innenhof rausging, war das Zimmer auch tagsüber sehr finster. Lüften ging leider auch nicht, da in besagtem Innenhof auch die Abluft aus der Küche waberte. Schade, die Makel sollten bei dem Preis nicht drin sein. Da aber sonst alles stimmte und vorallem auch der Service super war (Check-out standardmässig erst um 12, kostenlose Gepäckaufbewahrung, Tee und Kaffee im Zimmer, super freundlich) waren wir dennoch zufrieden und würden wieder kommen. Nur nicht mehr ins Zimmer 224.

Leider hat es Sofitel in London auch nicht fertig gebracht, einem 5 Sternhotel einen 5 Sternservice zu verpassen. Die Zimmer sind zu klein, das Bett zu schmal, das Restaurant war im Umbau und somit musste der Frühstücksraum als Restaurant genutzt werden, welcher den Charme eines Militärbunkers versprühte und viel zu weit runter gekühlt war. Das Frühstücksangebot […] fällt für ein 5 Sternhaus eher bescheiden aus und in manchem 4 Sternhaus ist die Auswahl üppiger. Es scheint, dass nicht einmal das Personal das Abrechnungssytem beim Frühstück versteht. Kontinental - Nur vom Buffet - Buffet inkl. Service aus der Küche. Tatsache war, dass wir dreimal dasselbe frühstückten und jeden Tag einen anderen Betrag in Rechnung gestellt bekamen! Somit war es keine Überraschung, dass bei der Rechnungsbegleichung, von 6 Positionen für dei Extras nur deren 2 stimmten und die anderen vier beanstandet werden mussten. Die Leistung der Concierges war die einzige welche dem Niveau des Hauses entsprach. Mehr

Ausgezeichneter Service, tolles Ambiente. Das gesamte Hotel repräsentiert den Ritz Standard. Zu beachten aber der Dresscode. Einzig zu bemängeln, das "Frühstücksbuffet" ist verglichen mit anderen Ritz Häusern ziemlich übersichtlich (3 Sorten Wurst, 2 Sorten Käse, Müslis, Früchtemix, Lachs)

"das Hotel hat ein super Ausgangslage"
Freundlichkeit, Sauberkeit, wunderschönes Ambiente. Würde sofort wieder hinfahren.

Innerhalb von zwei Minuten ist man am Piccadilly Circus, einem Knotenpunkt von U-Bahn und Bussen. Viele Theater sind zu Fuss prima zu erreichen. Zahlreiche Pubs und sehr gute Lokale findet man in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Ausgezeichnet war ein japanisches Restaurant in der gleichen Strasse. "Ein Traum - das nächste Mal wieder!"
Perfekt und sehr empfehlenswert aus folgenden Gründen: - sehr zentral und dennoch ruhig gelegen - sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichbar - Underground nur ca. 2 Minuten entfernt - sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. "Hotel Nähe Piccadilly Circus"
Das Hotel kann ich nur empfehlen. Es liegt ca. 400m vom Piccadilly Circus entfernt. Der Empfang ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich gleich in der ersten Minute wohl. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig eingerichtet und sind sehr sauber. Sie könnten etwas grösser sein, aber sehr wahrscheinlich kommt es an, welches man gebucht hat. Empfehlenswert ist der Spa. "Englischer und französicher Charme gut gepaart"
Bei Ankunft wurde uns zunächst ein Zimmer gegeben, das nicht schön war (1. Stock, Aussicht auf Lüftungsanlage); da wir mit Kindern reisten, wollten wir zwei nebeneinanderliegende Zimmer mit Verbindungstür. Auf Nachfrage wurden wir in ein schönes Zimmer (Eltern) mit mit direkter Verbindungstür zu einem zweiten Zimmer (für die Kinder) umquartiert. Der […] Service war gut. the staff is amazing, such willingness to help in any subject is excellent. Room was a bit small to our taste yet included all that is required. Theroom view was bad overlooking the back yard of he Hotel. the location is amazing, just between the Palace, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Square - we simly walked everywhere we needed.

this hotel is in absolutely the best part of London - St. James/Mayfair, right on the edge of St. James and Green Park, a very short walk (5 minutes) to Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street, surrounded by the finest art galleries (National Portrait, Royal Academy). The hotel is absolutely beautiful, a harpist plays in the foyer in the afternoons, […] the rooms are extremely comfortable with thoughtful details like adapters for overseas visitors, powerful hairdryers and Hermes toiletries. Having done a lot of travelling and staying in top class hotels, I found the Sofitel St James was perfect for our 5 days in London. Great location about 200 metres from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus and very close to the best shopping on Regent and Oxford Streets. St James Park, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park are an easy walk with Westminster […] Abbey also very close. Together with the best bed out of all hotel beds, very friendly and accommodating staff, i would recommend the Sofitel to everyone travelling to London - paying a bit more is well worth it. Mehr

"Outstanding Hotel but not cheap"
Our expectations of London hotels were previously very low indeed. However, this one turned out to be by far the best hotel of all that we stayed in during our European holiday. The price, like most London hotels, was high but this one delivered on quality. Highly recommended if you can afford it.

The hotel is in a great location, service was very good and room was very up to date, large and attractive. Everything was great I only wish the people in the room next door were more respectful, it was a loud family with children, they liked to yell a lot. Of course this was NOT the fault of the hotel. "Top Quality Hotel"
The Sofitel London St. James was an excellent home base in London. The location was great, near Buckingham Palace and a few blocks from Piccadilly Circus and its underground station. The rooms were large enough, not vast but comfortable, and the quality of furnishings and finishes were merely a step below Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton. The service was outstanding. […] Don't ask me how the front desk staff remembers your name each time you approach, but many of them did. Housekeeping was unobtrusive, thorough and prompt. The breakfast dining staff fell over themselves, very professional, to make sure we were happy. I wish I could remember the cost, but I don't. I recall that it's not cheap, but less expensive than many alternatives. Even so, if the price fits your budget, I highly recommend the Sofitel. Great stay! Mehr

"Sofitel in London - Pretty much what you'd expect"
Only in for one night. Hotel was immaculate, comfortable, clean, etc. It's a five star hotel. Shocker. I would like to make special mention of the fruit served with my breakfast. I don't know where it came from, but it was absolutely perfect. Like so good I'm going to have a hard time eating other fruit.

We stayed at the Sofitel London St. James the weekend of the Royal wedding (timing just worked out that way after a 2 week cruise). The hotel was fabulous. From the moment we arrived we felt like VIPs. The customer service was phenomenal. The manager, front desk staff, bell staff and bar staff all made us feel extra special and went out of their way […] to make sure we were well taken care of. Some local friends of ours met us at the bar for pre-dinner drinks and commented on the excelent service. The room was a good size and quiet. The hotel location was superb for tourist attractions and West End shows. We will defintely stay at this Sofitel again. Mehr

Their was a bit of a mixup with our room. This was brought to the attention of the Asst. FO Mananger who promptly corrected thhe mistake and when he found out it was our 20th anniverary provided us with a excellent complimentary bottle of bubbly. The location was great the hotel was immaculate and the service was terrific. the concierge was very helpful […] with his recomendation and securing a reservation at a top sea food restaurent . Mehr

We stayed in the Sofitel St James for 3 nights. We had asked for a quiet room which we got and the doors are the quietest in any hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff are all delightful, and Louise in the bar was particularly friendly and helpful. The spa and the gym are both good. The expresso machine in your room on request is a realy nice touch. I was without my husband visiting a business friend. As soon as I entered my room, I said I couldn't wait to come back with my husband. The staff was super...the room was luxurious....any help needed was there....and the gym was SUPER!! Didn't get to use the spa, but it was gorgeous and I hope the next time! Extremely quiet and luxuriously comfortable! […] If anywhere in your price range, I HIGHLY recommend!!!! Was also refundable if canceled within the reasonable period...this was a big plus for me as well! Mehr

I thoroughly recomend this hotel- it exceeded our expectations in every way. Location was great very close to Regent St, Oxford St and all the shows. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the concierge were excellent! Our room was small but most of London! is!
