Das weltoffene Las Palmas ist die größte Stadt der Kanarischen Inseln mit einem eigenen Leben abseits des Tourismus. Es bietet eine Altstadt mit erlesener Kolonialarchitektur, eine große Einkaufszone, den goldenen Sandstrand Playa de las Canteras und einen der größten Häfen Spaniens. Den überdachten Markt und das Museo Canario sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Nicht direkt am Strand, aber deonnoch zentral gelegen für Busanbindung, Einkaufszentrum, restaurants und Strandpromenade. Lage des Pools auf dem Dach ist praktisch und bietet einen netten Ausblick über Hafen & Stadt. Restaurant im 23 Stock ist ok, Frühstück aber nicht besonders reichhaltig. Satt wird man trotzdem, und mit ca 16 Euro pro Person ist es […] noch bezahlbar. Aber man kann gerne auch außerhalb den morgendlichen Kaffee genießen, auf der >Rückseite des Hotels ist nach der Tankstelle ein nettes kleines Cafe mit Snacks etczu günstigen Preisen in einem angenhemen Ambiente. Zimmer sind geräumig, im Bad waren manche Kleinigkeiten nicht mehr ganz intakt, Abfluß in der Wanne mußte man ganz entfernen, da sonst das Wasser nicht abfließen konnte. Seltsam das sowas dem reinigungspersonal nicht auffällt?! Insgesamt aber würde ich das Hotel weiterempfehlen. Mehr
"sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel"
AC hotel liegt sehr zentral zwischen Hafen und Strand. Die Aussicht ueber Las Palmas von einem hoeheren Stockwerk aus ist wunderschoen. Der Pool auf dem Dach ist eine weitere Attraktion. Das Gepaeck muss mit einem speziellen Lift bis zur Rezeption befoerdert werden. Das Personal hilft gern.

Die Hotelrezeption hat es versäumt, uns einen Fax, der bei ihnen um 22.30 Uhr angekommen ist, uns zuzustellen. Dadurch ist mein Mann am anderern Morgen mit dem Bus bis nach Playa del Ingles gefahren, um dort zu erfahren, dass die Biketour, die von dort gestartet hätte sollen, nicht stattfindet. so etwas darf es nicht geben in einem Hotel, das vor allem […] auch für Geschäftsleute ist. "Nice on the outside, cheap on the inside"
I had expectet more of this 4-star hotel to be honest. First of all it is surrounded by much traffic on both sides of the hotel, so if your one of those persons who needs a good and quiet night of sleep -this is not the hotel for you! At the time we were there it was the famous carneval, and the arena is next door to the hotel in a small park. Good […] show, but they keep on every night for a week and i am sure they can hear the music way down to the south of the island.... We were located at the 18th floor and it was still noisy by both traffic and the carneval! In general the room looks nice at first look, but after a closer look everything is a bit shabby. There is nothing called a king-zized bed here, just two single beds put together... and hard as hell! It was a bad smell from the pipes in the bathroom as well. Even though my critisizm is quite harsh, i must give them credit for cleaning the room every day and a free minibar! Mehr

Our third visit to Las Palmas and third stay at the AC - it only gets better! We were remembered and welcomed as return guests. On this occasion we opted for breakfast included in our tariff and were not disappointed with the choice and value for money. "High rise business hotel"
Fine as a business hotel but no character. Make sure you ask for a room which does not have a communicating door with the adfjoining room....for obvious reasons.

"AC Hotel Gran Canaria - a pleasure to stay."
Firstly, this was really easy to get to from the airport on the 60 bus (turn right out of departures on top floor and it's the final stop). Secondly, the free bar was excellent. This was replenished every day as were the freebies in the bathroom. Finally, the hotel has a great beach towel arrangement in that you pay a deposit of 10 euros, but can get […] a clean towel at any time and get your money back at the end. We were there for a summer break and thought the beach was perfect (particularly as there weren't many other English people there), but we were under a bubble of cloud almost the whole week and the whole city seemed to be away for the summer - it was very quiet. We did get a 30 bus down to Maspalomas on one day and found the blue sky and sunshine typically expected of Gran Canaria there,but this did take just over an hour. So, I would highly recommend the hotel, but be aware that if you're not staying there on business you might find better weather in the south of the island. Mehr

"Great position (for us)"
We chose this hotel on the strength of the high average rating in reviews. We didn't want to be in the touristy hotels on the beach. This hotel overlooks the ferry/naval/container port, but don't let that put you off. Its not that bad a view. We were on the 21st floor, and had a great view of the surrounding area. Canteras beach is just 10mins walk […] away, so its close enough. The bus station is a few mins by foot away, where you can get a cheap coach to the airport. Minibar was completely free. We didn't try the food or restaurant, and drinks were typically hotel pricey. For going out to eat, then its the beach area but its very touristy and suitably pricey. Go into town proper , off Plaza Espana, or into old town from San Telmo onwards towards the cathedral.. The ebst food we had was at Canas y Tapas. Good value, good food and half the price. All locals, no tourists generally. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the AC again. Mehr

What an ugly hotel, but it ticks all the right boxes.Good staff, quiet, excellent location, comfortable rooms. B'fast far too expensive, but you are paying for the view.
"Comfort and Convenience"
We travelled to this hotel from the airport using the No 60 blue "guagua" shuttle bus - ask for Catalina Park. Emerging from the underground bus station you see this elegant tall hotel just a short distance away. The views from all the rooms are awesome. We were overlooking the harbour and enjoying watching the comings and goings of the larger ferries […] and cruise liners. Walk down the taxi rank at the side of the hotel for a great little "locals" cafe serving excellent fried eggs, toast and coffee. This hotel is so near to everything - El Corte Ingles, Shopping Mall by the harbour, beach - and loads of street cafes in Santa Catalina Square. Our room was spotless, cleaned every day and toiletries also replenished daily as was the mini bar (free). Lovely soft towels, good gym (ask for the sauna to be turned on) and small but adequate roof top pool (not heated) with sun loungers - plenty of water always available in the gym fridge and at the pool. Staff discreet , friendly, helpful and very professional. We had a brilliant 10 days here on holiday and would not hesitate to recomment the AC Gran Canaria to anyone. "Flott beliggenhet ved St. Catalina park og strand"
Flott opphold! Hotellets personale gjør en utmerket jobb; vennlige, hjelpsomme, service-innstilte og alltid smilende! Rommet var rent og fint; parkettgulv og hvitmalte vegger - stilig! Rommets komfort får dårlig score pga at at sengene hadde hjul og skled fram og tilbake på parkett-gulvet når vi snudde oss i sengen. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake!

Hotellet var helt greitt, nært stranda og mange koselige spiseplasser. Litt langt unns sentralstasjon for å kunne ta busser til andre deler av øya, mens lokalbussene stoppet like utenfor.

"AC Hotel Gran Canaria by Marriott - Las Palmas"
Ett bra affärshotell över genomsnittet mitt i '"affärskvarteren" i Las Palmas. Bra service och korrekt personal, flygbolagspersonal ifrån många flygbolag väljer detta hotell. Hårda sängar, men man kan be om mjukare madrass vid längre vistelse. Utsikt över stan o/e stranden. Dock är hotellet placerat vid Las Palmas största väg, vilket orsakar mkt störningsljud […] i rummet vid trafik (morgon, em/kväll). Fick sova med öronproppar. Därför heller inte mysigt att vistas på balkongen - finns inga balkongmöbler, men skönt att kunna vädra ut rummet, så balkongen fyller en viss funktion. Bra ac, funkar klockrent. Frukost kostar 17:90 EUR per person, bra frukost - hög kvalitet, prisvärd, men dyrt att betala frukost utöver rumskostnaden om man bor en hel vecka för denna standard på hotell. Varning för en kvinna i personalen i restaurangen (på topflor, tillika frukostmatsal) som var riktigt dryg och otrevlig, samt för restaurangen som var väldigt omysig och tom. Maten ok, men inte till det priset. Dyrt också att parkera, kostar 15 EUR per dygn. Las Palmas är toppen att bo i och utgå ifrån om man gör dagsutflykter. Skulle dock rekommendera ett hotellrum med motsvarande standard vid strandpromenaden, högt upp, för att få lugn och ro på natten, dvs undvika oljudet ifrån trafiken. Mehr

"Mariott Las Palmas"
Hard to find when the Hotel is called Gran Canaria Hotel Mariott, and the sign on top of the building says "AC Hotel". Internet access only in the lobby. Euros 16 for breakfast? No parking, nearest parking garage charged Euros 17 for overnight parking? Not a cheap place to stay if you have a car and are used to breakfast inkluded in the room rate. "AC Hotel Las Palmas - A Pleasant Surprise"
The AC Hotel in Las Palmas is a 25 storey building with a superb view over the entire city and island. Right where it is located there is little else of use. However it is maybe two minutes away from St. Catalina square where you eat and shop and catch the bus. It is sort of a hub for the buses which are cheap on numerous. AC Hotel is also about 2 minutes […] from the cheapest liquor store, Big Ben, try it, and about 5 minutes from Las Cantaras which is the best beach in Las Palmas and quite possibly the best on the island. It is long wide, slightly curved, and bordered by a nice avenue which is absolutely littered with restaurant. The rooms are small-ish but not cramped and they are very nicely furnished. They also cleaned every day and they completely change the linen in the beds, not just make them. If you stay high up you have a magnificent view from your balcony. The best part however is the free mini bar. It supplies you water, soda and beer. The also have fridges with water bottles in the fitness centre (which is mainly for cardio, not strength) and on the roof, also free. Which brings us to the pool. On the roof there is a swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds. The water is cold but that you will find refreshing because it gets quite warm. Because you get above the pollution in the streets (which isn't bad so don't worry) the sun us even stronger. The roof pool also has glass walls so you still have the view but there is no wind. The staff of the hotel is extremely polite and very helpful. They realized that we weren't exactly rich so they didn't bother with the taxis but instead told us which buses to take and where and so on. The breakfast is really expensive however and we never ate their because you can get a whole English breakfast for about 5 euro at lots of places and a croissant with beverage for about 2. Hyvä hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla. Iso plussa ilmaisesta minibaarista. Hieman miinusta kylmästä altaasta ja hyvin viileästä huoneesta. Kokonaisuus erittäin toimiva ja tulisimme uudelleenkin. Myös ravintola hyvätasoinen alueen muuhun tasoon verrattuna.

Dette er eit av det beste hotellet du kan sjekke inn på dersom du har bestemmt deg for å være på Las Palmas. Selv om plassen er forblåst, finner du livd på toppen av dette hotellet. Beliggenheten kunne ikkje vert bedre.
