worth staying at this hotel if you want to see harry potter. you get in an hour before everyone else and that alone was fantastic. plus you are upgraded to the express pass - no waiting. almost made me a fan of amusement parks again.

Such a great hotel, location and the fast passes are so worth the stay at this hotel. Kids can't have enough fun between the park and the pool.

Nice pool. Rooms are very average. Helpful concierge. Pool bar is way overpriced, especially adding in an 18% gratuity to EVERYTHING, even a soft drink. The service at the poolbar is lethargic, because there is obviously no incentive to be guest oriented.

Great for if you are planning on going to Islands of Adventure/Universal. Early park hours and "fast pass" into the rides was a GREAT perk. Short drive to Disney. Great Pool. Emril's restaurant was fabulous!

The hotel was wonderful and only a very short and pleasant walk to Islands of Adventure and Harry Potter Land. The pool was lovely and plenty of chaises to go around. The restaurants were very good. I'd definitely stay there again.

This hotel is not perfect - don't get me started on the problems with validating parking - but they try hard, and there are some truly charming features. Without a doubt, the main reason for staying at this hotel is the early admission to the Harry Potter theme park. We visited on a Monday in early March - even then, the Harry Potter area was jam-packed by about 10 AM. But that uncrowded hour from 8-9 AM was lovely - we rode the rides and visited the wand shop when there were hardly any lines. I highly recommend staying at one of the on-site hotels, and getting to the theme park by 7:45 to make the most of your visit. We also enjoyed taking the water taxi over to the Portofino Bay hotel for dinner one evening. Portofino Bay is very charming, too, if your taste runs toward faux-Italian - our 12 year old loved it. The hotel was beautiful & easy to get to the parks. Staying at Loews was a bonus to get thru the express lines!!! Kids loved it here, definitely would come back! Thank you.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Royal Pacific. Previously we had stayed at the Portofino and weren't that thrilled. Plus, I've found that when you order the rooms online (not from Loews), they treat you like third-class citizens. Even when I called the hotel before our stay this time, I was shuffled to three different people because […] I needed a special 'concierge.' You also don't get Loews points if you book from someone else- ridiculous. Anyway, hotel was a lot better than Portofino and the kids loved the pool. Rooms were clean but the beds were not that comfortable. They appeared to be really hard mattresses with a spongy pad on top. Great location if you are going to Universal and/or City Walk. Theme of hotel is fun, too, kids loved it. Mehr

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful. The location was awesome, a short 5 minute walk to the parks. The best part was Express Pass was included with the hotel reservation. Worth the extra money we paid to stay on location. Didn't wait in lines at all. Highly recommend this hotel

Fantastic hotel, great rooms, great location, great facilities & great staff. Free unlimited express pass at the Universal Theme parks by simply using your room key. Would definitiely stay here again!

I absolutely love this hotel. Any time I go to Universal Studios, this is where I stay. It's much better than any Disney hotel I have ever stayed at. And Emeril's Tchoup Tchoup located downstairs near the boats has the best banana cream pie in the world. Worth every calorie. I've stayed here over 10 times and I'm making sure I stay at least 100. Well […] worth it. And with your room key as a fast pass, it more than makes up for the price. Mehr

Location fantastic to Universal Studios,compared with other hotels we stayed at this trip room tired.Pool great main negative was that everything was expensive in the hotel which was a shame as if it was a little more sensibly priced more people would have stayed in around the complex.

Next trip.. Loes it's gonna be!

I had some apprehension after reading mixed reviews, but it was one of the best experiences I've had travelling with my family. Star Services (aka Guest Services) were very polite and always willing to accommodate. I travelled with an infant and with the crib was a welcome pkg of baby products and an option borrow toys for the baby to play with during […] the stay. After checkout the older kids (11 and 9) went swimming and had access to the gym showers to change and get ready before heading off to the airport. The change rooms came equipped with individual bath robes, shampoo products and much more. I was very happy. BTW, the express pass was a definite advantage along with the water taxi...although we did miss it a couple of times and had to walk but it was a lovely path and was relatively quick. Mehr

Pros: Great for front of the line access & proximity to the park. Cons: Not much dining to chose from. Limited character dining. No activities for the kids the 3 nights/4 days I spent there.

Best location for going to Islands of Adventure park, and great front of line privileges (called Express Pass), and early entry for Harry Potter land/rides. Clean, nice hotel, I'd recommend to folks wanting to stay on property at Universal Orlando.

We stayed at a Universal hotel to be able to get early admission to the parks. It was definitely hepful to have that and got us on the Harry Potter ride twice. However, breakfast at the hotel was $20/adult, so this family of 4 did not eat there. It was a beautiful hotel. Excellent location and proximity to Univ. Studios. Wonderful staff, nice food, peaceful stay. Knowledgeable concierge, great pool areas. Gym looked wonderful but did not use. Fabulous hotel and location,. Got into park early, fast pass was brilliant. I hate standing in lines and this was a huge benefit of staying at the hotel

Just stayed at the Royal Pacific Hotel 11/7-12th at Universal. At first, I questioned my decision to stay at this hotel based on some of the earlier comments, but it seemed slightly more financially responsible than the other two choices as we needed 2 rooms (family of 5 traveling with 2 teenagers). The cost of tickets for Disney and Universal are lots […] of money in and of itself. That being said, my only regret is that we didn't stay an extra night! So much to do, would have liked to stay and enjoy the hotel more than we had time for; we did go to the pool at night for an hour or so after the parks and friday our 7 year old asked to stay at the pool in the afternoon, opting out of the parks that day. The restaurants, a little pricey, but we got creative. One night we went to the hotel's happy hour (located in the hotel and ordered a lot of appetizers ($5.00) each/ ($5.00 for well drinks), kids had virgin drinks. It did cost approx. $85.00, but the food/drinks were excellent and the kids thought it was great fun! We had also rented a car and ventured out of the parks for meals. The staff were pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We would stay at this hotel without a second thought. Mehr

Loved the hotel. I felt like I was in Hawaii.

Your hotel room key acts as a "Fast Pass" to bypass lines at most rides (except Harry Potter). Definitely worth it. Lots of fun things to do for the kids and the staff is great.

This is clearly the best of the Universal Hotels for us. It is more homey than the other two, and the Tchoup-Chop restaurant is a real treat! The pool bar is great. We have stayed here before and will again. A great getaway!

First off, let just say that I only stayed one night and went to the local theme park. This was a very expensive stay just to for the convenience of being able to walk back to and from the hotel and use the hotels key as a speed pass, which can be purchased separately. One of my major complaints would have to be the fact that there is a fee to use the […] gym. To me this is a little too much, with all the other expensive amenities you would think that this could be waived. Simply put, if you have the money to spend then by all means burn through it at this hotel, but if not there are plenty of other places with cheaper amenities...this I know since I live locally. Overall would give 4 and a half stars. The location is perfect- 10 minute walk to Islands of Adventure, with a water taxi for those who don't want to walk. Pool, restaurants and communal spaces were all great. The room was lovely with comfortable beds. The one criticism was that our room smelled strongly of smoke. As we were only staying 2 nights and […] had unpacked we put up with it, rather than asking to be moved. However, I did mention this at checkout and received a small reduction on the bill. Also rooms don't have balconies, which I would have liked if we were staying longer. All in all, we'd definitely stay again Mehr

The staff were friendly. The pool was great. The front of the line passes came in handy. I had problems accessing my internet late at night in the lobby and the gentleman at the counter walked me threw it and was geniune in doing so. The morning calls from cartoon characters were an added enjoyment for my daughter.

Great Hotel, Great Time. However when my wife checked in, the bill was about $100.00 more than when I originally booked it. After getting into my room, I went back down to the desk and inquired about it. It seems that the hotel charges $25.00 a person extra for every adult (18 +) over the first two who stay in the room. We had our two children, one […] 19, the other 16 staying with us in the room, so there was the extra hundred, Two people two nights. I explained to the clerk, that my son was only sixteen, so they immediately took the extra charge for him off, I still had to pay for my daughter because she was over 18. Still it was a great hotel, a great time. I just need to ask about surcharges the next time I book. Would definitely stay there again. Mehr

Considering the price we paid for this hotel,there was a charge to use a fridge. There was not a microwave in the room ether. Very disappointed in it. I gave top stars to everything but the confort of the room. We will not be back because of the price. We would rather stay at a 3 star and buy the fastpass to univwersal as long as the hotel had the fridge […] and microwave. Mehr

The hotel itself was fantastic, however the reason I booked it was for the benefit of getting express entry to the rides at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. What wasn't mentioned anywhere was that certain rides, namely the main Harry Potter ride and one or two other popular rides were exempt from this.

We stayed here in August 2011 - what a great place. When you factor in the saving you make on the fast pass for both universal parks (plus priority seating for restaurants with discounts as well) this is a very good value for money hotel. You can also use the pool and facilities of the Hard Rock hotel (which was great!) and the other Lowes hotel on […] site. Orlando was fab - we ( 2 adults 2 children aged 10 and 12) loved all the parks - the rides were awesome - we especially liked Sheikra at Busch Gardens, but they were all great -we are big Harry Potter fans so loved this section of Islands of adventure (and the fact that you could get in 1 hr early if you stay at this hotel) - Simpsons and Hulk were also favourites at Universal. The beds were amazingly comfortable, room was always cleaned to a high standard and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Mehr

I've stayed at all three resorts at Universal and they each have their merits. This one is definitely the best family oriented one; there were games every hour at the pool for the kids, dive in movies, ice cream shop by the pool, great restaurants that were kid friendly, it's also pet friendly...Its closest to Islands of Adventure - so easy access to […] Harry Potter world. Room service was great - lots of kid friendly options, but great adult options too so you're not stuck with just bigger portions of mac & cheese or chicken strips. Room was big enough for four - plenty of amenities. The mini bar was a on the higher end e.g. $10 for cashews...but otherwise pretty consistent. Mehr

We stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort last weekend solely in order to gain early access to the Wizarding World and have Express Pass at the Universal parks. Those two perks alone were well worth the price, but we really enjoyed the hotel on its own merits as well. The pool is really nice, and the Bula Bar poolside service was really nice after a tiring […] day at the park. The boat transport to the parks is convenient. We spent 4 nights at the Pacific Royal it was great. Close to the parks, the shuttle busses were great, the line pass was a blessing and the hotel was one of th best I ever stayed. This a five star hotel in my book
