I would have rated it all 4's, except the walls are very thin and the I had one neighbor playing some instrument until I called the front desk (they did handle it in 5 minutes tops). The other neighbors were talking so loud I could hear every word. So, if you are a light sleeper, it can be a bit of a challenge. Also, the "free breakfast" coupon was […] a bit misleading. There is a free continental breakfast, but the coupon and the sign out side leads you to believe you can also get the free basic eggs, meat, and potatoes with the coupon. Instead, I was charged for it. Not a huge deal since it was $4, but still a bit misleading. Location good. Cleanliness good. Quality appropriate. Staff nice. Mehr

Stay was acceptable...could have been a better experience as we book for King bed and got what looks like a Double bed. Hotel staff insisted it was a Queen size bed and I need to take it up with Hotels.com. Although the room was non-smoking, there was a strong room deodorizer smell to cover previous smoking smell probably. The staff crank up the A/C […] and that helped a bit. At 8:30pm, I was in no mood to call about the wrong bed size. Otherwise room was acceptable except for a broken light bulb. Will not return. Mehr

I just wanted a convenient, clean place to stay for the night. The hotel was everything I asked for, at a good price. Highlight for me was the flat panel TV and microwave/fridge in the room, along with hassle-free internet. Recommended.

Nice and clean, and very good personals

cost extra for hot breakfast. the FREE breakfast includes only drinks, fruit and bread. hot service is not up to standard. did not feel welcome when checkin. toohbrush, toothpaste, razor is not free.

nice & warm hotel, good price, staff is friendly! My family and I had a good stay!

great value including breakfast. Not a lot of amenities such as pool or hot tub but a business centre and a decent restaurant. close to everything!

It is unfortunate to see business customers begging for a voucher for the continental breakfast. The three dollars to upgrade your brakefast is just as stingy a couple of bacon strip with uncooked potatoes. It could be a wonderful place once they remove the nonsense.

i do like the closed windows at all, and the breakfast is much worse than some lower star rate ones.one day, I got a towel within lots of hairs, colorful ones.

Good location for us - therefore the hotel was convienient for us, BUT we had booked a suite with a king size bed and got a double bed. We talked to the manager about a discoun tbut he wanted to move us to another roon, we did not want to because we heard other guests complaining to him about toilets not working properly as well as air conditioners […] and our room at the time seem to work fine, so we decided to remain in our original room. BUT after a few days our air conditioner also developed a problem and kept shutting itself off as well as leaking water on the carpet. On two occasions coming back to our room at night, we found the card keys in-operable and had to return to the front desk to have another set issued. (very slow elevator) For our inconvienence, the front desk clerk offered us a breakfast upgrade at no additional cost to us (3.00 each) Too bad we had to toast our own bread and drink watered down orange juice. (Suggest another restaurant) And because the parking stall are not numbered, and due to the restaurant patrons upon returning to the hotel at night, we had to circle the parking lot for 25 minutes waiting for a stall to open to park. All in all the staff were very nice and apologetic, the hotel hallways and elevator are very hot and the hotel itself is very clean. Don`t know if I`d suggest this hotel to anyone else. We stayed here because it was convieniently close. We had heard, while standing in the lobby, that there is another brand new Monte Calol hotel in the process of being built and almost completed. So maybe the next time we are in Markham, we`ll check out the new Monte Carlo. Mehr

Very romantic room with jetted tub. Hotel room service was a bit iffy...language barrier on the phone, but it worked out. Would definitely stay here again. My boyfriend and I came out to Toronto for a romantic getaway and we definitely got it.

Found pizza box in the room, not kid friendly (no cribs available only dirty play pen). Located in the hear of business activities, one would assume internet is fast and computer in the working order. No such luck! Printer worked 50%, literaly only half page got printed. Coffe maker did not get cleaned every time. Overall poor service, very basic breakfast […] and unpleasent experience we would like to forget soon. Mehr

One of the reasons why I picked this hotel over all the others is because of the location. I wanted a hotel that was away from the downtown area and also close to the zoo. I liked how I did not have to pay for parking and also that breakfast was included. My room was clean and the air conditioning in it was delightful. There was two free internet computers […] in the lobby and I used them a lot. In my room there was a microwave and a fridge, but I did not use either. It was nice to know they were there though. I highly recommend this hotel because it is in a quiet neighborhood, it is clean, and I really had a restful time here. Mehr

I am a regular at the Monte Carlo Inn in Markham. It is a very nice little hotel that fits the discerning budget without appearing cheap. The staff is absoutely incredible. They always make me feel like a traveling dignitary. They have just recently upgraded the workout facilities with new equipment. Not New York Sports Club quality but very nice and […] useful. The room is small but that hasn't been a problem. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and actually I have already convinced colleagues who are traveling to the area to book the Monte Carlo. The only negative that I have is the resturant. I understand it is supposed to "Hong Kong" style but I simply don't like the way food is prepared. Mehr

The Monte Carlo hotel in Toronto is an OK base if you don't want to go downtown and pay through the nose. There is a honest if slightly budget feel to the hotel. Nothing is particularly poor or exceptionally good but overall it think it represents good value for money

No pool, "fitness" facility was 4 old machines and one was broke! The vending machine was broke all 3 days, the "hot" breakfast buffet wasn't unless you count a toaster as hot. Room was nice & clean though.

The staff was very friendly and professional. They were very helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area.

It was our first time with the Hotel chain and we were pleasantly surprised ...The professional service by all staff members, the cleanliness of the Hotel Property and its location made our stay very exceptional....

It was good, the location was good. But the breakfast could've been better.

I was so delighted when we arrived .The Inn are so clean and roomy and the front desk staff check us in fast and the rest of the staff are so polite and friendly. Located right off Highway 7,its work out great for us because all the good restaurant and shopping mall are near by.Only down side are we can hear people next door and people walking and talking […] out in the hall way,but only a minor thing.Will definitely stay here again. My stay was better than I expected from a 3-star hotel. The room was clean. The air conditioning was excellent especially during the hot days when I was there. It is also located near the chinese shopping malls and restaurants I want to go to.

We felt like royalty walking into the entrance. Beautiful flowers and fountain. Great location close enough to Wonderland lots of fast food close. Not too much traffic both vehicles and on foot. Felt very safe going for a walk. Breakfast was satisfying to me and the upgraded bf was only 4 $ for a small suplimentation to rest of bf buffet. I didnt bother […] taking the upgrade since i was satisfied with what was given. We loved that they offered pay per view movie choices. Quiet place with friendly staff. Mehr

The room photos on the website look better than the one we stayed in. I requested information by e-mail, from the hotel prior to booking as I particularly liked one room that was shown in their website pictures. I never received any response from them. Room we had was adequate for our stay.

The hotel is very old and the room also. They put too much perfum in the room to hide the old smell, but we don't like it at all. Not recommend for family with kids.

The hotel was nice, location was great, but not a very good continental breakfast, very little choice. At 1:00am in the morning there were people walking around the hallways talking loud, so we called front desk, they said they would take care of it, 20 minutes letter the noise was worse. Finally we took matters into our own hands and went out in the […] hall to tell them to be quiet. Asked for 2 wake up calls, ghot neither, not impressed. I would think twice before booking this hotel. Mehr
