Quinto Sol Boutique Hotel - Playa del Carmen

Our greeting at check in-comfortable-friendly, very accomidating and patient. they even let us chose and check out the rooms before getting settled in. This was a beautiful very quaint boutique hotel in Playa. The location was perfect in the heart of town on 5th avenue with many restaurants, cafes and shops. The beach was a couple of blocks, just a stroll away. I would totally go back!

We spent two nights in Playa Del Carmen because of it's central location to Tulum, Cozumel, etc. The Quinto Sol is right on the main tourist road in Playa Del Carmen, so it's very easy to find and within a convenient walking distance to all the restaurants, bars, bus stations, and ocean ferry terminals. The hotel really does have a cool design and was […] built around an enormous tree. The staff were excellent, very easy check-in, didn't charge us extra for a third person, and knew who we were by the end of our two night stay. Along 5th Avenue, there are many great restaurants, our favorite was the "100% Natural" restaurant, it has excellent (and cheap) fruit smoothies. Although the rooms are quite plain, and the beds aren't the softest, overall we had a great experience, especially considering the relatively cheap price we paid compared to an all-inclusive resort - and would certainly stay at the Quinto Sol again. As far as what to do around Playa Del Carmen, I would highly recommend spending a full day at the public beaches about 1-2 kilometers south of Tulum (a very easy walk down the road from the ruins). Just take one of the ADO busses from Playa Del Carmen to Tulum (very cheap). They were some of the most beautiful and non-touristy beaches we visited during our time in Mexico. Also, while in Cozumel I think it's definitely worth renting a car and driving around the entire island (only about a 2 hour drive if you don't stop to enjoy all the beaches, etc.), that was one of our favorite days. Location is pretty good, price was cheap but you do get what you pay for...the room was musty smelling, fairly unkept, but they did have hot water!!!!yay!... the nice jacuzzi pictures are far from the real thing, and the beds were ROCK HARD and hard blankets and sheets to match. The Italian restaurant on site is fabulous...great service...

Very cute boutique hotel, nice location although can be a lil busy outside but that is to expected on 5th avenue. staff was very helpful, very good return for the price.

the location of hotel is so perfect, i can't possibilly fine another one with the same price and charm, it's close to everything but not in the center of the noisy tourisy area, the hotel is so charming, beach is 2 blocks away, veronica at the front desk is very friendly & helpful, the rest don't speak so much english but they tried to be helpful when […] i ask for assistance with local calls, the rate is very reasonable, the deals i get is with breakfast included, also they gave guests coupon with half price of beach chair rental at mamita's beach club which is only 15 pesos instead of 30; the only thing is i couldn't get any wi fi signal on the 4th floor, and i didn't see anyone taking care of the outdoor jacuzzi, other than that it was a perfect stay, i will definitely go back. I just checked out of the Quinto Sol a few minutes ago. While the hotel is unique and I enjoyed the location and layout of the hotel, the location is also it's downfall. The restaurant downstair starts moving all of it's furniture inside between midnite and 2AM. They are unbelievably loud and wake you up every time, even on the 3rd floor! The street […] bars are noisy, especially if you are in a front room (201, 301are the worst). I was in 204 and was awakened every night. Would I stay here again? Doubtful. There are too many other hotels that are not as loud (like the one that I am now sitting in that we moved to..... Mehr

Perfect little adorable hotel with 20 rooms max. Right on 5th avenue, but you can sleep at night since it's at the northern end where everything is more civilized and affordable. The northern end is adorable, but minutes by foot from the crazy action of the southern part of 5th avenue. Staff at the hotel are great and super friendly. The place is spotless […] and the rooms have a kitchen. There's a Starbucks right in front and a gourmet yet affordable coffee place around the corner called Ah Cocoa. One block away there's a restaurant called "La Vagabunda" where the food is great, service is impeccable and the prices are awesome. Fillet of fish with all the trimmings and a beer for what a trio at McDonald's costs. Oh, and all this is just 5 minute walk from the beach :-) Mehr

This is a great little hotel. I have travelled extensively, and I was very happy with Quinto Sol. Great and helpful staff, and an excellent location, right near the beach, and with very good restaurants in a two-block area. VERY cute/attractive architecture. I highly recommend.

We looking for good priced hotel in a good area in Playa Del Carmen. This hotel exceeded our expectations! The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly. Excelente ubicación, en plena 5a ave con buenos restaurantes muy cerca. un hotel limpio, que necesita mayor atencion al detalle, cortinas mal colgadas, toallas rotas. Se puede conseguir mejor hotel a menor precio. la habitación básica no tenia nada, excepto la cama y mesa de noche. Pagué upgrade a suite para estar un poco más confortable.
