Wir hatten eine Traumblick über den zugefrorenen kleinen See in Keystone. Nach dem Skilaufen konnte man den Eisläufern oder den Eishockeyspielern zusehen. Da es aber in diesem BEreich des Keystone Resorts auch andere Häuser gibt, muss dies nicht immer so sein. Das Haus "Willows" war in den öffentlichen Bereichen in die Jahre gekommen, die uns zugewiesene Wohnung war aber perfekt in Schuss, hervorragend ausgetattet und gepflegt. Zum Einkaufen benötigt man einen Mietwagen, auch um die anderen Skigebiete in Colorado zu erreichen.

Das Alpine Inn ist für amerikanischen Standard ein extrem sauberes Hotel. Es liegt mitten im Skigebiet und für uns sehr gut erreichbar direkt an der Autobahn I70. Ein Super-Outlet ist wenige Meilen entfernt. Das Personal war sehr umgänglich, die Wellness-Einrichtungen hätte man uns z.B. auch noch außerhalb der angegebenen Zeiten zur Verfügung gestellt. Lediglich das Frühstück war minimal, aber auch das kennt man ja von den amerikanischen Hotels.
Lage
Sonnenalp Resort of Vail in Vail ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für folgende Winteraktivitäten: Abfahrtslauf und Skilanglauf. Betty Ford Alpine Gardens und Skigebiet Vail befinden sich ebenfalls in der Nähe. Auch Gerald Ford Ampitheatre befindet sich in der Nähe.
Ausstattung

Die Zimmer verfügen über Balkone. Die 128 klimatisierten Zimmer im Sonnenalp Resort of Vail bieten Folgendes: CD-Player und Minibars. Die Zimmer haben einen WLAN-Internetzugang.
Neben Fernsehern mit Premium-Kabel-/Satelliten-TV-Empfang sind die Zimmer mit folgenden Angeboten und/oder technischen Geräten ausgestattet: DVD-Player und Videospielkonsolen. Zur Badausstattung gehören: Badewannen und Duschen (separat), Personenwaagen, Bademäntel und Designer-Toilettenartikel.

This hotel is one of the finest hotels ever. The spa area pools and fireplace seating areas are top notch! Beautifully decorated in old Swiss elegance with great bedding and large bathroom. The entertainment in the King's lounge was very cool. Can't wait to go back soon!

"Kids not allowed in indoor pool"
Hotel is wonderful but kids are not allowed in the indoor pool from early am to 6 pm at night. If weather is warm it works ok since outoodor pool is heated. Breakfast superb as always.

"Sonnenalp - Off Season"
The beds weren't the most comfortable, but the bedding was nice and the staff outstanding. Breakfast was great, and being in Vail during restaurant month was a lot of fun.

The quality of this hotel is unmatched. Their service was exceptional and so was their hospitality. I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone and I will definitely be back there again.
The staff were extremely friendly; emphasis Spencer. However, I found everyone to be exceptionally accomodating. I would have no problem recommending Sonnenalp Resort to my friends. The locals were not as friendly as the staff at your hotel. Thank you for allowing my stay to be so pleasant.

"Sonnenalp Hotel, in Vail Colorado"
Dumpster needs quieter wheels, the din it makes now is enough to awake the dead. In previous stays there was bar service at the outside pool, but not on our latest stay.
"Delightful stay"
We spent three nights at the Sonnenalp recently, enjoying a few days away from home to escape the summer heat . Our room, service, and staff were all delightful and the breakfast at Ludwig's was exceptional.

The hotel was beautiful and all the staff were gracious. We had a wonderful time and felt welcome with our dog.

Was treated very well by all of the staff, and found the accomodations just right. I was in Vail with two bicycles, preparing to ride in a major mountain climbing event. All of the staff were cyclists as well, and they gave me a lot of good advice on prep rides. Will be going back!

"Fabulous Hotel in Vail"
The Sonnenalp is like a luxury European hotel, perfectly situated in the upscale and gorgeous town of Vail. Fantastic in every regard, we loved our stay there.
"Good location, mediocre hotel."
The location of this hotel was excellent and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The service in this hotel is severely lacking however. Housekeeping staff were very friendly but staff at the front desk were unhelpful and didn't appear to be interested in making our stay comfortable. Just one example of this would be that the fireplace in our room […] stopped working. We rang the front desk who sent an engineer up straight away. When the engineer was unable to fix the problem, we weren't offered another room and received no further communication from hotel staff. We went down to ask to switch rooms and although staff were happy to do this, they must not have made a note of this in their system as we received no turndown service that evening and our newspaper wasn't delivered in the morning. We also had to wait an hour and a half for an ice bucket to be delivered despite being assured by the front desk that it was on its away. Although the rooms were very nice, the attention to detail from staff was lacking and put a dampener on our stay here. We booked a nice suite hoping to spend our first wedding anniversary in a warm, friendly environment but unfortunately didn't find this at the hotel. If we did recommend this hotel we would warn friends about the service here. Mehr

"Hotel in Vail Colorado"
The Sonnenalp hotel is one of the best hotels in Vail and has been for years. The service, staff, location, amenities are the very best! A very comfortable and inviting environment with great details put forth to make their clients feel welcome.

Everything was perfect. Suite was large and comfortable. The bathroom was huges with jacuzzi tub, Euro shower and marble floors. Service was excellent and beyond expectations. Great pool and exercise area. Dinner one evening was nice. Feels like you're in a European destination resort.

"Room was cozy"
Rooms were very nice and bigger than what I expected! I would have preferred a king size bed but the two doubles were fine. Bathrooms were great but the tub would be nicer with jets and bubbles! Breakfast buffet was wonderful! Definitely would stay again!

Rooms were immaculate, large, and comfortable. The room had a gas fireplace, walk-in closet, sitting area, huge bathroom with lots of marble counter space and two sinks. I wish we had more time to enjoy the resort's ammenities, including spa, pool and exercise center. Breakfast at Ludwig's was the best hotel buffet I have seen (in the US).

Pleasant, european-style hotel in the center of Vail. Public rooms are cozy rather than spectacular, which we prefer. Service was consistently outstanding. Our room rate didn't include breakfast: We paid at the table and felt it was worth the price. Dinner in the main restaurant was also very good. Perfect place to escape the summer heat. My wife and I went for a long summer weekend. Sonnenalp is centrally located in Vail Village. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and what to do. Don't miss the breakfast buffet.
