die hotelanlage war o.k. - auch die lage - supermärkte, geschäfte 10 min. zu fuß entfernt - da die anlage plantage hale über kein esturant verfügt -auch möglichkeiten für restaurant-besuche oder hotels in der nähe mit bar bzw. essensangeboten in der nähe.plantation hale selbst ist sauber, großzügige einrichtung - allerdings muß ein frühstück außerhalb […] eingenommen werden und gehört nicht zum service. kein thema, wenn man flexibel ist, denn bei der buchung sind die fakten klar. Wir waren mit unserem Hotel einfach rundrum zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind recht groß und haben einen Wohnbereich mit einem getrennten Schlafzimmer. es gibt im Wohnbereich eine komplett eingerichtete Küche mit allem drum und dran ( Mixer; Toaster, Kaffeemaschine etc ) Das Gebäude selbst ist nicht mehr das allerneueste, aber tip-top in Ordnung. Zum Strand […] sind es ca. 2 Gehminuten, das Meer ist vom Zimmer aus zu sehen. Das Hotel besteht aus mehren Häusern mit jeweils 16 Wohneinheiten. Vor dem Haus gibt es eine Grillplatz mit nagelneuem Gasgrill. Es gibt 3 Pools, so das es von keinem Zimmer aus weit zum Pool ist. Direkt gegenüber liegt ein anderes Hotel mit Restaurant und Bar. Beim Checkin erhält man gleich eine Rabattkarte für den ca.300m entfernten Supermarkt mit. In der Lobby gibt es einen PC mit Internet und Drucker (kostenlos). WLAN ist in jedem Zimmer (auch kostenlos). Das Personal war jederzeit freundlich. Wir finden das sich in Kauai schwerlich ein besseres Preis-Leistungsverhältnis finden lassen wird. Das Hotel ist empfehlenswert! Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Küche, welche sehr gut eingerichtet war. Die verschiedenen Räume waren sehr grosszügig geschnitten. Ausserdem hat es noch einen Pool und der Standort des Hotels ist perfekt!

We got a deal through hotels.com and couldn't have been (much) happier! The suite was great; having it divided into separate rooms makes it feel more like home and less like a hotel. The kitchen was also an awesome bonus, although we didn't use it much because we were only there one night. The appliances are a bit dated, but they do work so don't judge […] too harshly on that. The facilities are very nice. There are three hotels and a couple of hot tubs as well shuffle board. The staff was really friendly. We even got complimentary water bottles at check in and a souvenir at check out for turning in a review. It's little things like that which make for a great stay. The bed was OK - not the best, but plenty comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The pillows are a bit on the thick side, so for back sleepers like us, you may be forced to roll on your side. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one has a great price, and you more then get what you pay for. Unless you are bursting at the seems with spare cash, book the cheaper (but not cheapest....trust us) hotels here, and spend the rest of your budget on things to do. Mehr

Very mice 1 BR suites. Large by most hotel standards. Located conveniently for restaurants, shopping and touring.

We stayed here for one night and that was all it was good for in its current condition. It is in a great location. In fact it is next to a Shell Resort . Staff at the Plantation was great at check in and out. I just have to say it needs to have the kitchen unit updated and cleaned and the beds need to be refreshed now it is awful the way it is. Otherwise […] it’s a great place. Looks like it had been upgraded to granite countertops. I don’t know if it is a gradual upgrade process but for me and my family to stay again it would need those items upgraded and some attention paid to the little things it has all the big ones covered. We stayed here for a week long Hawaii vacation. We wanted something with a stove and fridge as we like to do our own cooking. This, place had a wonderful kitchenette with all the cookware we needed along with a full size fridge. Also, great living room space and separate bedroom and bathroom made this more of a small apartment than a hotel room. We […] were very pleased. The beach is about a block away, you can see it though. Also, this hotels pools suck, but the neighbor resort pools are nice and open to the public. Bottom line, if your looking for a nice room and cooking ability, this place is great, if your looking for the whole resort feel, stay next door. Mehr

great hotel, big size. kitchen had everything. Since we stayed for several days we were having breakfast and dinner at the room, saved us a lot of money. Foodland, safeway and several restaurants are within walking distance. The bus stop is also very close, so one can take the bus also, although the service is quite infrequent.

I loved it here! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It had all that I needed, perfectly located.. near beach, grocery store/post office/pharmacy and Starbucks!... and great people working here too. The hotel is by the highway, keep that in mind, so..? depending on the room you get it could be somewhat noisy (for some) try and get a room facing […] towards the ocean. Either way.. If it's not the traffic you hear, you'll hear the roosters... they're everywhere! But if you're a low-maintenance/glass half full kinda person, who travels alot, looking for a basic apt. style place, you'll like it here! I was looking for a clean place to stay, sleep, feel safe, that's got a kitchen/fridge/stove so I could eat in more, free wifi, and free parking, close to stores... and this place had it all.. It also had a DVD player in the room (BLU-ray/DVD) and the local Foodland had a DVD rental machine! If you're into the decor and only do 5 star hotels, you won't like it here. But I didn't come to eat the wallpaper. And oh! it's a real quiet place.. no party animals would survive here, there's no bar/nightlife unless you walk/drive to the nearest bar?!? there's no smoking in your room or even on the balcony, and they have rules.. like a "no noise between the hours of 10pm and 7am" or face eviction! So, a great place for those looking for R&R... and a place to put your feet up after a long day of sightseeing/driving around! Mehr

The only serious disadvantage was the noisy highway, which was very close to our room. A minor inconveneince was the extreme senitivity of the shower temperature control which made it difficult to get the desired water temperature. Everything else was excellent; in particular it was very good value for money. The hotel is not on the beach but close […] enough that one can see the ocean from the upstairs rooms. I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again -- but would request a room as far as possible from the highway. Mehr

What a pleasant surprise. Our unit was clean, newly redecorated, and CLEAN! Not a wonderful scenic area but close to lovely areas. There is a great walking/biking path in the area. Wouldn't want to spend my entire Kauai vacation there but it was a very good deal.

Plantation Hale Suites, an older accommodation on the East Side of Kauai, has convenient access to highway, shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and airport. Truly centrally located! However, the Plantation Hale Suites' accommodation was disappointing. The Suite was not as clean as I expected. There was a dead bug in the refrig and the Suite did […] not smell clean. I would not use the kitchen. I reported this to the front desk upon check-out. In all fairness it appeared that bathroom towels were changed on a daily basis. Mehr

LOVE THIS PLACE. THIS IS MY THIRD TIME THERE. IT IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ISLAND. CLOSE TO GROCERY STORE. IT HAS A KITCHEN WHICH I BELIEVE IS VALUEABLE. WALKING DISTANCE TO THE OCEAN. EASY PARKING. BUS COMES TO THE BUILDING TOO.

Located off a highway - easy to find on a map and easy to drive to any location on the island. Condo kitchen was bare bones. Didn't provide soap to wash dishes. Housekeeper didn't wash the dishes when cleaning the condo. I had to buy soap to wash the dishes.

This hotel is very reasonably priced and it has a full kitchen. The pools are nice and they have full time security. This is a simple and yet very nice hotel that feels more like a comfortable apartment. I was very happy and would recommend this to anyone. Our family needed one extra night at a hotel before we checked into our timeshare. The Plantation Hale Suites was perfect for what we wanted. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel was somewhat dated, but very clean and well-kept. The location is very close to the beach and to the Coconut Marketplace center that is full of good restaurants and […] shops. This hotel is also in a great location on the island as it is about half-way from the north-shore activities and the south-east activities (Port Allen, ect.). When traveling, I always prefer to not eat out as much as I can to save money. So... having a full kitchen is a bonus! Not only does Plantation Hale fit this description, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was --- when you first walk, there's the living room, dining table and kitchen. The bedroom (with two beds) and the bathroom is somewhat […] separated by what looks like a doorway (without the door). It is cleaned nicely by the staff, although I'm not sure why the cleaning ladies come around 9am to clean the place when people are still there? I personally think it's a steal to be able to stay at such a LOW price compared to other hotels nearby. To address the issue of mosquitoes that someone else mentioned (as I am deathly afraid of their bite, too) --- you will find them around Kapaa in general in dark/damp places. They are not unique to Plantation Hale, as I've been bitten previously at another hotel along the Kapaa coast when just standing there to check-in! So just exercise caution! My favorite part was the free wi-fi and a blu-ray player in the living room!!! They have DVDs/blu-ray discs for you to borrow at the front desk. Awesomeness :) Mehr

This hotel was perfect for us. We liked having a kitchen so that we could prepare fresh food from the farmer's markets. The hotel was very quiet and clean - all furniture seemed fairly new. We also liked having access to the small pools for evening swimming.

We were planning to stay at a fancier place nearby, but that place wanted $30.00/night extra for our third person for a hotel room with a microwave. Plantation Hale gave us 3 people for the two person rate, free Internet (the other place charged $10/night/device) AND, it turns out--Plantation Hale was a whole suite! Bedroom, separate living room with […] a sofa sleeper, separate full, equipped kitchen, separate dining area. The little things were nice too--plush towels, beach towels provided, coffee supplied for the coffee maker every day (not just first day like most places), friendly staff. The only downside was the beds were pretty worn out and soft. But it was so much better than the expensive place with the better beds--I'll cope! Mehr

We arrived early but the staff did everything they could to accomodate us. We waited in the lobby area for a bit and conducted a short meeting as planned and before our meeting was done, the Frot Office staff came to me to bring me our room keys and all info that I needed to go straight to our room. the room was mildewy smelling by the end of 8 days the smell was gone...also no central air..small room a/c to cool down two huge rooms...

It's not five star, but it's a perfect place if your looking for a place with a full kitchen and living room. Free internet was nice, and it was close to many restaurants and grocery stores. Kappa'a is close to the fern grotto, 2 waterfalls, and a midway point between Poipu and the North shore. We had a toddler and liked it because it was quite for […] naps, but the ovens had the dials at the front, so we were constantly making sure he wasn't starting the oven or burners. Mehr

I wasn't expecting a suite. I got a hotel room with a living room, kitchen, balcony dressing area and king size bed. The only problem was the shower head. It was difficult to control. It is walking distance to the beach and a great shopping area with a wide variety of food and live entertainment.

今回4日間の宿泊でした。とても満足しています。 私たちは毎日昼以外は自炊をしていましたが、ホテルの近くにショッピングセンターがいくつかありとても便利の良い立地でした。 ホテルの前は広大な緑の空き地になっており、その先には砂浜があり、日の出を見るための朝の散歩がとても気持ちよかったです。多くの方がジョギングや散歩を楽しんでいらっしゃいました。 カウアイ島の北に行くにも南に行くのも良い場所です。 部屋も広く私たち二人だけではもったいないくらいの広さでした。キッチンも清潔で気持ちよく使うことができました。
