Grande Villas Resort - Orlando

I was rather appalled that they expected us to pay extern for WiFi really left a bad taste in my mouth on this property.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, and the timeshare itself was in a great location-would definitely stay again.

Great little condo/room. Good price. They are in the biz of selling, so make sure you are ready to be pitched, and $250 deposit that they hold for a week after check out. Would book again under the right conditions.

The volcano pool was very fun - nice and clean, though you need to bring the towels from your room. It was very convenient to Disney, our destination. The buildings are like apartment buildings more than condos and the tenants could be a little loud for families with early bedtimes or who want to sleep in - we were both of those on different days. I […] wish the room had a dishwasher, it didn't. It was obvious they did some upgrades as far as granite countertops and such. The appliances were clean, there were plenty of kitchen utensils that made it very functional. I think the granite shower and tub could have been cleaner, but they were nice. The unit is oddly misshapen. It was impossible to walk through the unit in a straight line as each room was it's own weird shape, the kitchen area a tight triangle, the bedroom an odd hexagon, the bathroom was huge (larger than the bedroom and kitchen combined??) with lots of counterspace. There was a little screened in porch, large enough for just a chair. There is a Food Mart on premises that seems very, very out of place, it's like its in the middle of Jamaica Queens instead of in the middle of a supposed resort. The Grand Villas Resort lobby was a little tricky to find and Google and Mapquest suggested different routes - with different zip codes - and the phone number on the Grande Villas Resort website didn't get to you the right resort, but that was apparently because they are building a new front desk. It made us unsure we were going to the right place. Once that front desk is complete, I hope it still gives guests access to the volcano pool on the Cypress property adjacent where the lobby is currently located, that was memorable. The guest adjacent to us was screaming at her child for most of the morning. I suppose that can happen anywhere. The bedding, linens and towels were extremely clean and the bed was very, very comfortable. Their pillows were delightful. Mehr

Great location, great quality of rooms. Only complaint I have is - they dont do house-keeping every day (making the bed, taking out the trash etc). Wasnt a big deal for us as we would spend most of the time out in the theme parks but would have been a nice to have.

Hotel very conveniently located, near outlet mall, supermarket, Disney world. Very spacious room, 2 TVs, convenient kitchen, gigantic bathroom, very clean. Only problem : the separation between the adjacent room was a bit thin and let some noise through. Parking close to full at night. Free soap and shampoo a bit cheap. Super clean, central, newly renovated, great place! Timeshare sales attempts easily dismissed. We definitely recommend the place.

Nice large rooms, the staff was helpful and friendly. When Disney is busy, traffic to I 4 crawls. Allow extra travel time even though it is close by.

Good location and veryclean. Poor help and attitude from reception. Very noisy bedroom with 4 air conditioning units directly outside bedroom window. Not enough parking. Could'nt park close to our unit. Insufficient linen in unit and no directory. Timeshare Sales Dept very aggressive and intrusive.

Upon arriving at the hotel we found that they had cancelled our reservation for the two bedroom suite due to over-booking. I feel this may be because we received a discounted price through your website. They wanted to give us two single rooms, but we have two young children so that was not an option. It took talking to two managers in order to "fix" […] everything. We did get the suite we booked. The suite was nice and very clean. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but then again, there is nothing like your own bed. The property was nice and seemed pretty well maintained. On check-in we were told no 2 bedroom suites, which we had booked, were available as hotel was over booked. Instead they gave us two separate 1 bedroom suites which really did not work for us as we have 2 young children. After I complained they did promise some money back but this has not yet come through. Both apartments were nicely furnished but […] one apartment smelt really musty - I dont think it had been used for months. Also lounges/kitchens had no windows which I did not like. Children liked the pool and mini-golf and the shop was better stocked than many hotel shops and sold pizzas and subs. Hotel is 5 mins drive to Disney. Mehr

Very close to Disney aattractions as well as Orlando. Very spacious unit. Would definetly stay again when we are in the area.

Cypress Pointe was all I expected according to the reviews I had previously read, except for the politeness of the staff. Upon check-in I was welcomed with a "Give me your credit card and an ID", no Good evening, no welcome to our hotel, I understand it was past 9 pm, but a simple good evening doesn't hurt anyone, upon checkout it wasn't much different […] even though it was earlier. Resort facilities were good, the convenience store was great it allowed us to have a very early breakfast at an affordable price (about $15 for 3 people, outside you'd be looking at not less than $25) so that we could hit the parks at opening time. The only issue I had was with the washing machine, it wouldn’t start, called maintenance, didn’t turn up, so I had to improvise and spoke with one of the gardeners who finally gave me a hand. The resort is close to most Disney parks and the Orlando premium outlets, the farthest distance we drove was to Universal Studio, but even so it wasn't that far. I can't really complain. The hotel was great and so was my room. I would def. stay there again. My only problem was that I was mis informed about the hotel deposit. I booked my room almost 2 months in advance. I called maybe 5 times between the 2 months confirming my reservations and the deposit amount they needed to hold on my card. The times I called […] and I always gave my reservation name and they always told me $50.00. I don't particularly like having money on my card when I go on trips to avoid problems with people stealing identity and such. I'm a cash person. So I put 50 on my card. When I got there at 11 at night , the gentlemen told me it was $100.00 deposit. I informed him I called several times and they always told me $50.00. He said no and to give me the name of the person i spoke with so he could correct them. I never took down names. :-(. But luckily my boyfriend used his card. It bothered me that the man at the front desk didnt seem to believe me but none the less the hotel was good. my suggestion...take the name of the person you spoke with so if you get misinformed you dont get thought of as a liar :-) Mehr

our stay at the Villa was wonderful - we meet family some for the first time - the villa was located in the heart of everthing which made our stay a delight

I thought for the cheap price that the resort would be untidy and dirty. But I found it neat, clean, and near everything I need to go to. Ideal for families. And at a fraction of the cost of the "Downtown Disney" hotels. I highly recommend.

Warning!!! The description of the hotel says jacuzzi in every room but all I got was bath tub slightly bigger than standard and NO jacuzzi or jet massage or anything like that. Also very cheap hard as hell pillows. could barely sleep Disappointment!

good location for disney, comfortable, SPREAD-out. service one of the worst. front desk said they didn't have my reservation that i booked on hotels.com, booked on my iphone 2 hours before. My last name is Miller, not real hard to find. they sent me away. i had to go to my car, charge up my phone, come back, prepare to show my phone to someone new. […] a new person asked me my name and found it right away. i had to fill out a TON of forms before going to bed, this was at nearly midnight! couldnt i just sign my waivers and be done with it? place is so spread-out it took me 10-12 minutes to drive and then walk to my room. i'll choose disney next time for the rates this place was charging. Enjoyed stay and amenities. Location was great - grocery, dining, parks close by. Did not appreciate being told my special rate was only due to my requirement of attending a timeshare presentation!! This was explained during check-in but I had no idea when I booked through hotels.com. If I had known this was a timeshare I would have reserved at another […] property. Mehr

The hotel is clean, cozy and comfy. It is convenientely located in the sense that many restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, gift stores are only within walking distance. I will definetely recommend this hotel to anyone. Great stay!

It was a little tight in the rooms, but the main bedroom was separated. Nice roomy bathroom, and plenty of activities, too!

Cypress Pointe is actually a time share but is used as a hotel as well. What's not to like? 3 pools and jacuzzis, mini golf, children's activity center, kitchens, huge bathrooms, and a bedroom, all separated by doors. The only cons were minor: No close parking one night because of being packed, TV reception was fuzzy (fortunately we didn't watch much […] TV), and a small lizard got in the bathroom somehow (if you know Florida lizards are everywhere). this resort is truely a home away from home. The room has a mini kitchen, cookwares, oven, dining table. The staffs greet you whenever they see you. No resort or parking fee (A+). I'd definitely go back.

I was very dissapointed with the room. The room was dated and dusty. The shower had mildew on the floor of the shower. The vents were dirty, and the bathroom sink in the hallway were not attached so you had to lift with your hand to pull the stopper out. The master bathroom sink needed CLR to remove the rust. Very nice resort style hotel. Good value for money.

Be aware of NEW $9.95 per day Resort Fee that gives you perks that you do not need, and in previous visits I would never use! You have NO CHOICE . Must find in the small print.

I stayed there beginning October 1, 2011. I was a little nervous because of all the complaints I read. I found none of those to be true! Our 2 bedroom in the blue whale building was perfect. We needed to use the hide a bed, which turned out to be uncomfortable for two 16 year olds, so maintenance brought us a brand new queen mattress to put on top of […] it. They went way beyond the call of duty. I normally stay at the Marriotts vacation club condos, but this was just as nice for half the price at least. And the Internet fee? It was not outrageous! We rented a two bedroom unit at the last minute and got an amazing deal, so I expected it to be somewhat rundown. What a surprize! It was beautiful. Updated stainless appliances, granite counters. We had a 4th floor corner unit - huge & beautiful. Lots of towels and extra bedding - even pool towels were provided. Remember to bring coffee and size 4 […] filters. You are only provided a standard hotel-type premeasured coffee insert and the coffee maker makes 12 cups. Will stay here again. Mehr

The hotel is just minutes from Disney property and because of that - there are many resturants that you could literally walk to that have "normal" prices. (I'm not one that enjoys spending $17.00 on a "Disney" cheeseburger.) The room was actually a condo, full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 3 TV's. A little aged but quite nice, especially […] considering the low price. The blinds in the master bath wouldn't close all the way - a little creepy since it was a first floor unit. I stayed at this hotel/condo (1 BR) while in Orlando for a conference. I chose this place for its price and location--it was approx 10 min from my conference hotel, and the cost for my Villa + my rental car (Mustang convertible) totaled less than it would have cost me to stay at the conference hotel! Plus my Villa had a kitchen, so I saved by not having […] to eat all my meals at restaurants. I did not do much other than sleep and work while at the Villa, but I was very comfortable, and I would definitely stay here again. Mehr

We stayed at the Sheridan last year and the bar was set pretty high with our expectations. CP blew us away with the bathroom and tv's in both the living room and bedroom. Will definitely put this place in the same rankings as the Sheridan when we vacation in Orlando!

Cypress Points is ideally located near most of the Disney attractions as well as several restaurants. Got room for great discount and although small was very pleased.

This re-furbished 2nd floor one bedroom studio suite facing the pool was excellent in every way. We could not have asked for anything better and the room rate was the best part. The resort staff was polite, friendly and helpful. The resort is situated in a convenient and central location close to numerous restaurants, outlet shopping malls and theme […] parks. We participated in the 2 hour time-share presentation and received two excellent gifts to make it worth our time. We highly recommend this resort. It deserves more than a 3 star rating. Place was great .. was little scared reading the bad reviews.. but those people must love to complain... I will be staying there again .
