We were at the end of our vacation when we stayed at this hotel and it was an excellent choice. It had all the amenities my husband and myself were looking for; kitchen, living room, clean bathroom and bedroom, close to "The Gap", beach and airport The only exception: the unit did not have a coffee machine, and I love a perked cup of coffee in the morning. […] . The hotel is an ok property for families with children, nice pool and beach right across the street (although the beach had a serious slope and undertow)...rooms have a kitchenette and fold out couch for extra kids, etc...however, our building was in serious need of a facelift...cracked tiles, worn out bathtubs, dull and dirty paint, no remotes for […] the TV's, etc The property advertises 2 restaurants on site, but only one (across the road) actually serves food or drinks....the one by the pool only holds sales events for vacation packages...not even coffee or sodas available at the pool. This is a really relaxing hotel. If you are looking for a 5 star resort, this may not be the right fit. It served all of our needs and is in a great location. Having kitchens in the rooms are a great plus. Staff is friendly. All in all, I would definitely stay here again. This hotel was very comfortable. Beautifull pool and outdoor restaurant. The beach bar was fantastic and offers happy hour and good food....the beach setting was relaxing with lounge chairs and palm trees along dover beach. Really no complaints. I would definitely stay there again, if only for the beach bar and lounging experience.:)

This was my 7th time staying there in 25 years (and my 8th time in Barbados). Many others who have stayed there over the years noted how the hotel has gone down - is in need of repair. We haven't stayed there as often and I am not as critical, perhaps. It is a 3-star hotel after all - so my expectations were according to that.....Quite frankly, I found […] everything about the place perfect and to my liking - as did my husband. The staff is friendly and helpful - and displayed the usual courtesy and kindness of Bajans in general. They went out of their way to insure that our needs were met - to the front desk personnel who took our needs into account when checking in and out and were otherwise helpful when we had questions about anything or needed money changed etc, to the cleaning staff who were accommodating and did a great job every day, the head-gardener was a real pleasure to speak to and had his team nicely fixing up the place for Christmas, the activities director and coordinator were very helpful in suggesting the most appropriate catamaran trip for our family, the bartenders / waiters were great and fun to talk to, the person in charge of the beach chairs / umbrellas was very kind, etc etc. The unit we were in was clean and in good order. When we had an issue with the toilet (thanks to our 3-year-old) the maintenance person went out of his way to help resolve the issue, even though his shift had ended for the night. Additionally, when we arrived the main pool was not in use /was down due to maintenance...but we were allowed to use the members' pool - which was actually located in a shadier spot and perfect for us. The main pool was up and running again within days.... The hotel is located perfectly for going to restaurants, tourist shops and the mini-marts (for food) in the Gap there is the opporutnity to do watersports on the same beach and a couple of nice places to eat (including the hotel's beach bar) that overlook / are on the beach too.....and nightclu Mehr

Close to St. Lawrence Gap for restaurants, short bus ride to Oistens Fish Market for great fresh fish dinners. Quick bus ride to downtown and less than 15 mins from airport. Nice hotel, good customer service from staff.

Certainly found this hotel to be an excellent one in almost all aspects including the rooms / furnitures inside the room / cleanliness / air conditions/ cost / proxmimity to the beach / friendliness of the staff / service / close to small supermarket / attached kitchen is extremely useful with all required utensils / television / internet. I would […] definitely recommend this hotel for anyone like me who wants to have the taste of both outside food and cooking when time permits. A separate living room with sofa, chair apart from the balcony is a great asset who does not want to spend looking at the bed in most of the hotels. Mehr

Our stay at Divi Southwinds June 25-July 15, 2011 was great, we found all of the staff welcoming & helpful. Special thanks to Amanda at front desk, Kathy Ann in house keeping, beachside bar crew, Juliette E & Tryone in Activities. Our room was clean & comfortable. The beaches were clean & within walking distance. The grounds were well manicured. Internet […] service was a $10.95 a day fee my only complaint, Divi should provide free internet service for guest. Not quite luxury but very good for the price. Expansive grounds, very nice beach, accommodating staff. Internet is expensive and it would help if they spiffed up the corridors. The room was good with a well equipped kitchen. Good selection of restaurants within walking distance, we liked the Ships Carvery, the kids got the buffet for half price.

I brought a last minute 5th person with us to Barbados and the manager upgraded us to a penthouse suite to better accomodate. She was great. Her words were "we want you to be happy here at our hotel" and this made us happy!

The hotel is ideally located on either side of St Lawrence Gap, near to all the nightlife, restaurants, Dover beach, and just minutes away from Oistins, Supercenter, and Bridgetown. Transportation is so easy to access....just stand outside the hotel and hop a ZR bus (warning - they drive really hard, sometimes blast loud music, and can get really cramped!). […] It costs Bds$2. one way. I loved the quiet of the hotel, and the sound of the water fountain right outside the room. There were 2 tvs, a full kitchen, with utensils and adequate space in the room. Check in and check out were a breeze. Since check out was at 11am and our flight was much later, we left our luggage and had the option to use the hospitality room for showering and freshening up. I would definitely return to Divi! Mehr

Big pool, its near restaurants and convenient stores as well as the public bus stop to go to bridgetown and oistins. Don't be intimidated to take the $1 van service...

Physical amenities of hotel/beach were very good. However on our 4th night I became violently ill, resulting with my fainting and my son having to call for medical assistance. Before any help arrived I recovered and we cancelled the medical aid. To my dismay, no concern follow-up call was made by the front desk, and on check-out, when I complained about […] my experience, I received no sympathy, apology or concern about my condition. The only common denominator that we could think that it was the hotel water, and all they could say was that their water is drinkable. My advice to anyone staying at Divi is DON"T DRINK THE WATER. The hotel was convenient for our needs. We were in Barbados for the rally racing. While our room attendant took care of the room, we had to call repeatedly for coffee that never came. Also, we extended our stay and the front desk clerk was quite rude about it. Also, did reveal to us what the real rate was. We are in the travel industry and know that […] when you make a reservation through a wholesale agent, there is obviously a price difference to the rate actually paid to the hotel. Mehr

We had booked 3 rooms and they were all adequate. This was no Ritz-Carlton but good for our purpose. The rooms were generally clean and okay. Air-conditioning was functioning in both the living room and bedroom. The kitchen was equipped with necessary amenities and utensils. I had friends with us who had stayed there before and they commented that the […] maintenance of the property was going downhill. Maybe due to the economy? Who knows? It felt like there weren't enough people working there. So, service wasn't always as good. When these people were available, they were very friendly and helpful. But you had to find them to get anything done. I also wish that the front desk staff had information about surrounding area or events taking place nearby. We had to find them ourselves which is not a problem but it would be helpful to some travelers who aren't very adventurous. Location was perfect as it was walking distance from all restaurants and nightlife in St Lawrence Gap. While a walking distance from all entertainment, the rooms were very quiet and peaceful at night. The beach was gorgeous and not too much traffic where this place is located. We had a relaxing time at the beach and we played a lot of volley ball at the beach as well as their swimming pool. I recommend this place for family vacation or a getaway with friends. Mehr

Conveniently located and staff are sooooo nice and helpful. Rooms are a little older but excellent value for money and everything was super clean. Has a small gym, pool, super market and everything is within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.

Nice having full kitchen complete with pots and pans etc.

Fui com minha família e fiquei decepcionada com o serviço e a manutenção do lugar. Tudo muito largado. O horário para aplicação de cloro na piscina era totalmente inadequado. O pessoal para fornecer toalhas não ficava no local. Não havia gente para fornecer material esportivo. O mini-golfe estava todo arrebentado e com bandeiras rasgadas ( e ainda queriam […] cobrar pela utilização !!!) A limpeza do quarto era sempre mal feita e incompleta. A sala de fitness era ruim e com mal cheiro. Enfim, muito relaxo e descuido em todo o contexto do hotel. Só um ponto positivo: o mini mercadinho que havia lá. Só. Uma pena ! Mehr
