Everything at the hotel was great - customer service, room/bed quality, etc. Only complaint is that the windows were super dirty. So dirty that when I drew back the drapes my husband thought it had started raining because we could barely see through them. We ended up keeping the drapery closed the whole time we were there because it was such an eyesore. […] Felt it wasn't worth complaining because nothing short or window washing would fix the problem. We were woken up in the early morning hours by the sound of the kids running in the hallway,who were there for the surf soccer tournament.Since Marriot along with all the other hotels are aware of this annual thanks giving holiday gathering,consideration should be given to room assignment for the parties that are not there for that purpose. The staff was the friendliest at any hotel we have ever stayed at, the food was outstanding, the bed so comfortable, we only live about 20 mins. from the hotel but will be back again and again.... Thanks for such a great weekend!

We only had one king size bed (awfully small) for the family of 4 (my husband, 6 year old, and 4 year old). 2 queen beds that I signed up for at the time of booking was not granted. Food at hotel restraunt and their sushi bar was very good. Hotel was very well appointed and had a very nice pool area and furnishings. Rooms were a little small.

Overall I was happy with the hotel. I thought it was nice. As others have stated, the $20 fee for self parking is a little much. They also stick you with a $12 charge for the internet, if you use their w-fi for your computer. Other than that, I think the room price is reasonable. I think it's a pretty nice hotel. There isn't anything close as far as food, etc. unless you want to get in your car and get lost - not even a convenience store. The in-hotel restaurant and limited snacks are EXPENSIVE! $17 for breakfast is a bit much. A hamburger is $15. That was the only downfall - just a lack of choices for food. Otherwise, great place, great staff, lovely room.

Nice hotel but very expensive for what you get. They should not charge $20 to park...not cool. I can understand $5-8 per night but $20 is excessive especially when you need to stay more than one night. Also, if you stay here, you will notice right away that their water conditioner is making their water too soft...to the point that any soap you use feels […] as if you cannot rinse it off. I'll spare you the science behind this effect but basically, when you have water that is too soft, the chemical compounds in soaps (fat/proteins) don't get absorbed and your soap feels as if you cannot rinse it off your body or hands...it's a strange feeling and a pain in the butt. Well, this hotel's water is that soft...they need to tone back on their water filters. The room is nice but overpriced. I travel a lot and have staying in many Marriot hotels...this one is over priced for the location and what you get. I don't think I will stay here again. But hotels dot com was very helpful to me when I needed to make a last minute change. Mehr

The receptionist at the front desk thought I did not speak English and made fun of my family and me. It is unbelievable that a 4 star hotels charge for parking and no free wireless internet. It is impossible that a dirty cup of coffee was out of our room for more than 12 hours and no staff would pick it up.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. But on this trip I had a pleasant experience thanks to the frontdesk staff. They gave a remodeled, clean and quiet room - exactly what I asked for and they accomodated. The room was awesome and the staff are professional and friendly.

we found the staff very congenial and friendly, the room was fine for our purpose. The bedding was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again as my daughter lives in the neighbourhood.

The hotel was nice but in a general business park setting. Convenient to the freeway but not close to restaurant options. I had two very bad breakfasts there, including being given a dish of salad dressing instead of yogurt. Nice and very clean place to stay, especially if you need to be in Carmel Valley for business or an event. We were in the area for a wedding and the hotel was nice enough to upgrade our rooms since we were in the wedding party and needed a place to get ready for the big day. We were touring univerties and the general San Diego area. The Marriott in Del Mar was the perfect location. Nothing was more then 15 minutes away. Great hotel and an amazing value!

This hotel is modern and clean, and the staff are attentive and polite. The surrounding neighborhood does not have anything more to offer than strip malls, office buildings and highway access. Because the hotel seems to share a parking deck with an adjacent office building, hotel guests are billed $18/day for parking, which I've not experienced before […] in a suburban setting. Mehr

Front desk customer service needs improvement. All other employees of the hotel were friendly and helpful. $18 (we had knowledge of the fee coming in) for parking is way to much plus we got charge 3 times for a 1 night stay. If you're near the pool/patio, On the weekends they have bands on Friday night and Saturday during the day. Problem was I could hear them 7 floors up in my room. Other than that, it was a great hotel stay - and the Arterra Cafe was very good.
