Es war alles in Ordnung. Die Zimmer sauber, der Service einwandfrei. Vor dem Haus bedienen 2 Buslinien die Haltestelle, sodass man maximal 10 Minuten auf den nächsten Bus warten muss, der dann in 10-15 Minuten am Hauptbahnhof ist. So gesehen, ist das Hotel wirklich gut gelegen. Störend war nur die laute Straße. Fenster offen lassen war nur mit Oropax möglich. Wenn möglich, sollte man ein Zimmer auf die andere Seite buchen, da ist es bestimmt leiser.

sehr gut, gute Lage ca. 5 Min zur Trainstation, Frühstück zu teuer - 16 Euro, Alternative in einer Bar gegenüber für ca. 8 Euro.

HEM Hotel Amsterdam liegt in Flughafennähe in Amsterdam in der Nähe von: World Fashion Centre, World Trade Center und Vondelpark. Concertgebouw und Stedelijk Museum befinden sich ebenfalls in der Nähe.
Ausstattung
Dieses Hotel verfügt über folgende gastronomische Angebote: 2 Restaurants sowie Coffee-Shop/Café und 2 Bars/Lounges. Ein kostenloser W-LAN-Highspeed-Internetzugang steht in den öffentlichen Bereichen zur Verfügung. Außerdem gehört Folgendes zum Angebot: Internet-Terminal. "Für kurze Übernachtungen in stadtnähe"
-Die Einrichtung der Zimmer ist recht neu -Die Bad war axseptabel bis auf die herunterbekomme Dusche, die sehr verschmutzt war. -Mein Zimmer besaß nur eine Klimaanlage und die Fenster mit blick auf einen innenhof im gebeude konnte man nicht öffnen -Für den parkplatz muss man pro Tag 15€ bezahlen -die hauseigene Pizzeria macht Pizzen die schneien schlimmer […] als ausm Penny -das Hotel hat eine gute Anbindung zum verkehr -der Service war auch gut Mehr
"Das Hotel inzwischen grottenschlecht"
Das Hotelzimmer war nicht gereinigt, die Betten nicht frisch bezogen und die Handtücher fehlten im Bad. Nie wieder!
"Für den Preis darf man nicht zuviel erwarten!"
Das HEM Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig in der Nähe der Autobahn, die nachts allerdings nicht zu hören ist. Das Hotel war ruhig, wir haben gut geschlafen. Der japanisch anmutende Garten im Eingangsbereich war das Beste am ganzen Hotel und sehr gepflegt. Mit der Straßenbahn erreicht man in ca. 20 Min. das Zentrum. Das Innere des HEM wirkte bei genauerer […] Betrachtung abgenutzt und verbraucht. Wir hatten den Eindruck, hier wird nur noch Geld rausgeholt und lediglich in das Notwendigste investiert. Der Aufzug in den 4. Stock war außer Betrieb, so dass wir den 2. Aufzug in den 3. Stock nehmen mussten und dann über die Holztreppe in den 4. Stock gelangten. Die Fußböden in den Gängen waren mit Flecken übersät. Zigarettenkippen und Plastikteile lagen in Ecken und Ritzen. Man sollte nicht so genau hinschauen. Das Bad/WC war veraltet aber sauber, es gab keine Klobürste. Beim erstmaligen Betreten des Zimmers schlug uns eine stinkende Chlorwolke entgegen. Um zu lüften öffneten wir das klemmende Fenster und sahen auf dem Dach des Hotels Kippen und leere Bierflaschen rumliegen. Alles in Allem: für den Preis kann man in Amsterdam nicht mehr verlangen. Das Zimmer war schmutzig und zwar richtig schlimm, das Fenster war aus Plexiglas und nicht zu öffnen. Das Bad war voller Schwarzschimmel und viel zu eng, die Fliesen irgendwie klebrig. "Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis"
Hotel ok, nach erstem Zimmerwechsel (Fenster ließen sich nicht öffnen, schlechter Geruch). Frühstück gut, ruhige Lage, von naher Autobahn nichts gehört und mit Straßenbahn in 20 Min im Zentrum.Einrichtung und Fahrstühle etwas alt, abgewohnt teilw.defekt, aber insgesamt ok für den Preis.

Wo soll ich Anfangen, soll ich erwähnen, dass das angeblich Stadtnahe hotel mich jeden Tag 40 Taxi gekostet hat. dass das eine Zimmer von uns ein bett mit schräglage hatte oder dass es dort gestunken hat, oder dass das andere zimmer ein kaputten fernseher und telefon hatte. dass man uns bei unserem 4 tage trip erst mit lautem organ ein angenehmeres […] zimmer bekommen hat. dass die rezeptionisten unfreundlich, wahren. es war ein fiyasko. "Das HEM Hotel liegt etwas entfernt der Innenstadt."
Das HEM Hotel liegt nicht in der Innenstadt, die ist aber mit der naheliegenden Straßenbahn gut zu erreichen. Das Hotel war für den Preis besser als erwartet.
Zentrumnahe Lage, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, leider hier und da Schimmelschäden im Zimmer. Frühstück etwas überteuert. Sonst empfehlenswert.
Fenster konnte nicht geöffnet werden Zimmer hat unangenehm gerochen personal unfreundlich bad/wc nicht sauber lieber nicht duschen! zum glück war ich nur eine nacht da..

GOOD: Markets(LYDL, Albert Heijin, Blokkers, etc.) are very close. / BAD: dirty towels, old bathroom, cold room, far from downtown, busy reception, window cannot be opened(in my case. other rooms may not), 5 minutes waiting before using hot water for shower, free but slow internet (<10Mbps), old TV

"Dirty"
When I arrived at the hotel I found that it was in a nasty part of town. Its a good thing the parking lot was fenced in. The room was not configured the way i booked it. The bathrooms were not cleaned. I guess you get what you pay for. This was one of the cheapest hotl I could find. I reccomend this hot for someone who not be in it except to sleep after […] a night of drinking. No sober person would be able to stay there. Mehr
"Cheap Option"
For the good price we paid for this hotel i initially thought it was an acceptable option. Reception staff were ok. Reception appearance was quite modern equally the hotel overall was good. No tea/coffee making facilites or toiletries provided in the room. Good shower .. clean sheets .. clean towels provided daily. UNTIL .... I heard the patter of tiny […] feet on both nights (mice!) I WAS NOT dreaming they woke me up and i sat up & listened to them scurry round the room. Will not stay here again. Mehr

The hotel was good and not as bad as people have said. The hotel was very big and the staff were very good. The receptionists were very good. The downside is the ride to the hotel on tram 2 is 25mins. But there is good transport links. The food was ok. The only concern is the bathroom has glass around it so people who are in the room can see you in […] the shower. This would be okay for a couple but no 3 men sharing. Overall a good hotel. Mehr

"hotel hem amsterdam"
hotel was easy to find from a10 motorway, just 2 minutes from slip road. hotel was close to tramway & train station, only 20 minutes into central station 2 euros. Hotel rooms were clean, facilities were limited, however staff were pleasant and very helpful and accommodating. travelled with 12yr old daughter and felt safe in the hotel. parked car for […] 2 days in car park, and no issues. okay on a negative side, the smell of weed outside was unpleasant, but then again the smell of weed throughout amsterdam was the same, so would have encountered this issue everywhere. excellent value for money Mehr

The room of 4 beds was very good. The only problem was mostly the air circulation. The aircondtion could not be regulated and there was no windows that could be opened in anyway. Just a little slider would be nice. When a person was in the shower you could see the whole body from the outside. There were no towels when i came, so i got it from the […] hall. Mehr

Essentially as advertised, but no better. Out of the way location, grim hallways and the rooms aren't much better. Shower backed up and flooded the bathroom. I was glad I was staying just one night, but no big complaints.

Be carefull!!! I got 8x8 room with four beds!-instead of baby crib(as my daughter is was only 2 months) I got another bed. I had to share my little single bed with her as I really couldnt leave her on bed by herself. Also, water was leaking from the bathroom to underneat out beds, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee, nothing.... Heater was blowing cold […] air, we had to ask to get another heater and that was not worth the money we paid at all!!! Poeple at the front desk wasnt too freindly at all. their helper was more friendly then people at the reception! I give it ONE STAR!!! Also, said no Smoking, yea right :( Hallways and rooms smell like smoke! That is all. Will not stay there again. Mehr

"HEM Amsterdam"
The place is generally clean although the interior looked a little aged. Location is not exactly in city center but is fine - not too far away from tram stop. And you can take the tram from there to pretty much most of the attractions.

"Sub Par"
The smell of drugs saturated the entire hotel. The majority of the guests were young adults (-23). The hotel staff were unprofessional, not helpful at all, and down right rude. Our room was a very long way from the check in desk. Everything extra cost about 3 times what it should have. It is located in a sketchy neighborhood. And I am pretty sure that […] the entire operation is a drug front. On the plus side, the hotel was cost efficient, the room was clean and comfortable, the hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was great. I would not stay there again unless I only had fifty dollars to my name and had no other alternative aside from a hostel. I would not suggest staying there if you are a mature person, or if you don't do drugs. Mehr

"lousy stuff"
I paid a decent fee for a nights stay and didn't expect to be treated quite as badly by the stuff. The hotel was in a middle of a construction site and after circling for a while I just walked and asked for directions to the parking lot around the construction. The stuff was not able to give me proper direction. When I came back at night my key didn't […] open the door to my room and it took quite some running up and down the stairs and asking the stuff for help, before I finally could make it into my room. In the morning I asked for direction to the airport. The stuff told me off quite rudely, as if that was such an unusual question. He simply told me that the highway was straight ahead, also it was rather complicated to get on it and it was not the correct highway to shiphol airport. Fortunately I got other help, or I would most certainly have missed my plane to Boston. You most certainly will not see me in the HEM hotel again. Mehr
"Neglected hotel rooms"
We arrived, someone else had been in our room , ie, bed messed up. Then nothing worked , ie ,hairdryer , had to hire hairdryer as they said no hairdryers in room, surprise next room had hairdryer that worked., tv, shower. Had to make a fuss to change rooms, next room was not quite as bad, lights in shower melted through cavity. 15-20 mins from centre […] of Amsterdam by tram. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even 1 star Mehr
"Cheap, but dirty"
The hotel was not well maintained. Too hot in room and A/C was busted. Room was dusty and moldy/ bad smell. Warning: Amsterdam is too expensive

Close to Tram 2 route and grocery store. Rooms and hotel were not very clean. Service was bad. Slightly better than a hostel. I do not recommend.

"May have been a 4 star hotel... 40 years ago"
Though the staff were friendly and it wasn't located in the 'roughest' part of Amsterdam, it was located a bit far from what we wanted to see. Hard to find as well if you are not a local. Tucked away down a street in between dodgy looking buildings. Tram stop is close by but it stops running at night so you'd have to work out an alternate bus route […] back making the end of nights out a bit awkward. Wouldnt recommend it for women travelling alone because some of the residents of the area were a bit weird. Was approached by a man on a bike asking for money. He followed us for a while til the local police intervened. Were doing renovations on inside of hotel making it look and sound like a construction zone. Bathroom was small and there were lots of big stains on carpet. In the end though it is just a place to sleep. Amsterdam is a lovely place! Mehr

Took a bit of finding and had very hostel feeling. Staff were polite and attentive however we had lights hanging from sockets in our bathroom which was a bit alarming. I suppose you get what you pay for as this is no frills on outside of Amsterdam. It is quite close to Tram 2 stop which takes you directly into Amsterdam

this is a great hotel just outside the busy hub of amsterdam. The staff are always nice and the rooms are clean. The only thing to let down our visit is there was construction works just beside our window so we were always up early

"Nice room with good access to the public trans"
Was I satisfied with my stay at the HEM. I’d say yes indeed. The HEM is one block from the tram so access to public transportation (GVB) is a breeze. Once you’re on the GVB anywhere in Amsterdam is at your finger tips. Our shower was the best. Small space for a shower, but the hot water pressure was splendid and endless. More than making up for the […] size. Our room (room 357) was facing the highway, which I was upset with at first but then I realized the highway emits very little noise thanks to the sound buffer wall. I could barely hear it from my open window. So at first I didn’t like room 357, I grew to love it. It has great exposure to the sun, the window opens all the way, it is at the end of the hallway so foot traffic by your door is low. In fact I’d suggest requesting room 257, 357 or 457 as they all share these benefits. The downside to the hem is that they charge you for WIFI, and for using the lobby computer. The coffee they sell in the lobby is expensive, small and not so great. The hotel halls and amenities are in mediocre condition. The room was decent but the hall ways and elevators were another story. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Overall a grade B hotel. At a decent price. Mehr

Lots of horrible insects in the mattress. We were bitten seriously there and cannot sleep for the whole night. Terrible experience.

No customer service at all. Chek in time is very late at 2pm and they won't check you in a minute earlier than that. They'll make you wait until exactly 2pm even if your room is ready before that. I ask to borrow a bowl to take to my room and they refused. Very dirty. Stains all over the carpet on common areas and in rooms.

Reception looks like a jumble sale. Rooms are clean but are also tired and smell of smoke. Amsterdam is not very big so whilst the location is not central it is adequate. The hotel is however surrounded by housing estates and the Amsterdam ring-road so it's not exactly scenic. The hotel is very cheap and hence this mainly attracts students and large […] groups of men who spend most of the time drinking and smoking outside the front of the hotel. In summary, if all you want from a hotel is a bed, toilet and a shower, then this place is an option. HEM Hotel is not a place to relax and unwind! Mehr
