Partridge Inn - Augusta

It took a long time to find our reservation. The one person at the front desk was busy answering all calls and coordinating with security and police because someone reported theft of their jewelry. After a long check-in, and carrying our bags from the car to room, we were greeted in the room by dirty dishes of food. We couldn't leave the hotel that […] evening because so many people were coming in for an event that we would have lost our parking space. The positives were a great breakfast, a comfy bed, beautiful old hotel and pet friendly. Hotel needs some fresh paint inside and better management. Outside of hotel was beautiful. Inside, was run down in my opinion.

The hotel location was suberp. I have always gone to the PI for entertainment for most all wedding parties/receptions but this was my first stay here. The first room we had was very small but the balcony made up the difference however there was a huge vent system that was in plain view by our balcony and window. We then asked to move to another room […] that would accommodate our wedding party which the receptionist graciously found for us. The restaurant service for breakfast was very slow. They were just setting up the main buffet for brunch and we felt we got the shuffle in the midst of it all. Mehr

All I can say is this hotel had the nicest courteous staff and the location was awesome plus the restaurant was great and the night life in the bar entertainment was a pleasant surprise . the gal who sang was like Aretha and we had a blast I would stay there again in a minute for convenience to the va hospital and downtown and The masters. a great place […] for the price !! I would stay at the Partridge Inn again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very elegant and well maintained. We had a two bedroom room on the fourth floor with a deck overlooking the courtyard and pool. Room was always clean and staff supplied anything we needed. While the Partridge Inn could use a litte updating, my room was large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was fine, if not fancy. Best, though, was the fantastic neighborhood surrounding the hotel. I took several runs in the evening after my classes and was just amazed at the beautiful houses. We spent one night at this hotel and were very pleased. It was clean and the staff was courteous. Very pleasant for the night before surgery.

Parthridge Inn Augusta Georgia, close to all the must see sights,great shopping ,all the eats thinkable.Over all great Inn. Loved the historical Inn ,Loved it,Loved it

What I paid for on line ...was totally not the case once I arrived, price and size.was really disappointed

It's a lovely old hotel on the National Register of Historic Places. Very much 'in town' but in a very pretty nieghborhood. Still convenient to restaurants and nightlife with a car. Staff was very friendly. Lots of security, always someone in the parking garage at night. Beautiful old bar and dining room. Exactly what I was hoping for. The hotel room was not great at all. The bed was the best bed i have ever slept in, however everything else was not nice. the lamp over the desk could not be turned on. The balcony was incredibly disgusting. the carpet and walls were nothing but mold and theres a big magnolia tree blocking half of the view. i got the room because of the balcony view […] pictured online so that was a huge let down for me. also, at 6AM on checkout morning, my girlfriend and I were still sleeping and we had maintenance just walking right on in yelling to wake us up and say the room next door had a power outage and the breaker was in our room. he left and came back 3 times within 30 min working on this which obviously was aggravating. then a housekeeping lady walked right in about 2 hrs after that and i had to yell to get her attention and let her know we were still in the room and she had no idea. these 2 things are why i would never stay anywhere in the hotel again. one huuuuuuuge upside though, was the bar and grill. the food is incredible. the bartenders are very very nice and personable, and they gave us a huge discount on our meal and drinks. i will definitely visit the bar every chance i get for the great drinks and food but will never rent a room again. Terrible service. Booked and paid for balcony room (most expensive of 4 room classes). Called the day before arrival to confirm. Clerk confirmed. When I arrived, after finding someone to check me in (as no one was at the front desk), I was given the wrong class of room, which was a suite. I called down from the room and was told to return to the front […] desk, no apologies. When I drug all 3 pieces of luggage back down I was told to have a seat and wait. Again no apologies. I was then told that I had booked that room. I quickly pulled out reservation showing that I had indeed booked and paid for a balcony room. After showing undeniable proof that I had booked and paid for a balcony, I was then told that I had been upgraded to the less expensive and not reserved suite. How can you upgrade someone to a lesser class of room? I was told that their hotel operates on a "first come, first serve" policy and that reservations (even prepaid) do not guarantee a room. I was told the operations manager would contact me that afternoon, but that my complaint was with who I booked the room with (this very site). He never bothered to call. I was told and confirmed on the web that this hotel had recently gone bankrupt, little wonder given the lack of customer service. The room was clean. The sofa was aged. Their was a window unit (an actual window unit that had the accordion type plastic and sat on the window sill with the window raised). The room was drafty (in their defense it was below freezing that night) and noise from the nearby 4 lane road (which the bedroom faced) was very audible. All in All...I would have stayed at a less historic (old) hotel downtown that has a clue about how to treat a customer. Mehr

I am a resident of the local area but my stay was a early, in town, Valentine's getaway. The pros: the customer service was excellent! Everyone i encountered with the staff was very helpful and friendly. In the morning, we had breakfast in the bar and grill on the 2nd floor. The restaurant was very clean and beautiful. Very historic feel. The cons: […] i was greatly deceived by the description that hotels.com offered of my room. I booked the most expensive room before the pent house...according to the web site..because it was a great deal. The description given was that of a 600 sq ft balcony room equipped with a full kitchen with all the dishes and pans. I read that the hotel had valet service and in room massages. When we arrived, the clerk said they only have valet parking when that one valet person is on duty. After that, i didnt want to embarrass myself by asking about the massage service. There was no bell hop on duty. I had to carry my own bags up on the cart which had a broken wheel that kept getting stuck. When i arrived on my floor, there were two sets of steps before my room so the cart was of no use. The room was very cramped and no where near 600 sq ft. There was absolutely no kitchen what so ever. No microwave, no refrigerator. We had just gotten back from dinner and i had a to go plate of lobster and filet mignon that needed to be chilled. When we called the front desk the young lady sent someone to find a frig from an unoccupied room. The refrigerator did not work. We at least had a balcony with a partial view of the apartment buildings next door. I am grateful the room and bathroom were clean. The furniture was dusty but the heat worked. We did not have a tub, just an out dated shower stall. Because it is a historic hotel, we didnt mind the very poor lighting, cracks in the ceilings, gaps around the door that allows you to hear every move in the hallway, or the fact that local calls were 50 cents each. I am originally from Augusta and never had a need to stay at the Inn until I moved out of town. I have stayed there 3-4 times since then and I have had a great time everytime I stayed. The P.I. Bar and Grill is there so no need to worry about driving if you have the occasional cocktail at dinner. Clean room and great ombiance

This is a beautiful old hotel that has been somewhat updated. Unfortunately there was no wi-fi access in the room and after asking about this the front desk said they'd reset the router which if they did made no difference. There was also barely any cellphone access (could only get one bar on my phone). The room was comfortable and spacious and very […] clean. Their airconditioning system in the room is extremely loud - in fact when it clicked on I almost jumped out of the bed - it clicked on every hour or so.....very disrupting during the night. Mehr

Very nice older hotel.

Great place to stay. Staff were wonderful especially Dora! Nice room- we got an upgrade to a room with a Balcony as they weren't very full. Restaurant with Jazz music was very nice. Would stay here again for sure.

We stayed at the Partridge Inn which is the oldest and "nicest" historic hotel in Augusta. We had a nice experience, over-all. However, we had a couple of mis-steps along the way to our nice experience. When we arrived, we were sent to a room that was not what we had reserved. We reserved 2 Queen beds and got one king (not good for a family of 4). […] Also, the room they sent us to had not been cleaned. Towels on the floor, bed unmade, etc. It was obvious that house keeping had not stepped foot in that room. The problem was rectified immediately by the very kind staff. There were no issues with getting the type of room we reserved. We got the 2 queen beds and all was well. There was an A/C vent directly over one of the beds which was a bit uncomfortable but other than that the room was fine. The bathroom needs a place to put your clothes while you shower, other than the toilet. There are plenty of small shelves for accessories and hygiene items but not a place for clothes to rest. Be prepared to make adjustments but the staff was helpful and courteous. Don't expect 5 Stars, you will not have that kind of experience, but there is live music in the lounge and the place is clean and comfortable. We did not have any issues with noise. Mehr

The room was cold. It took two days, set on 79 degrees to get it comfortable, and by then it was time to check out. The location was great for us. We were in Augusta for my mother-in-law to have surgery, and it was a straight shot to the surgery center. It was also very near a nice cafeteria, so our evening meals were convenient. First room had black sooty material on bed, no toilet paper, no soap. Second room was dirty, had no shampoo, stopper sink was broken, TV worked poorly, was given outdated wi fi password at check in, and was exposed to loud party noise all night.

The hotel itself was interesting in a historic way. The problem I had was that I was given a room above the restaurant, where a band played until 1:30 in the morning. Being a historic (old) building, it had wooden floors and no sound insulation. I kept thinking that it had to stop soon, but it didn't. This hotel might make for a nice stop on the tour of Historic places in Augusta and that's about it. The hotel looked a little beat down. My "suite" had the sofabed open already -- not a standard practice among normal hotels. Furthermore, 1 of the 4 "welcome cookies" in my room had two distinct bites in it. I am not making this up. If the PI had anything […] going its favor it was the $3 Long Island Iced Tea on Friday night. After dinner I went to the bar to take advantage of this offer and after nearly 10 minutes of waiting for the bartender to notice me, I left and retired to my "suite." It wasn't his fault. The place was 2-3 deep with college kids. He couldn't keep up. T'he pictures look enchanting but the place inspires ranting. I give this establishment a hearty Thumbs Down. Mehr

The staff was warm, welcoming and Incredibly helpful. Room was spacious and well decorated. Bathroom had a pedestal sink but had room for a larger vanity which would have been more convenient when my daughter and I were trying to get ready. Free parking in a garage was a pleasant and welcome surprise.

I am from Augusta and I understand the importance of this hotel. However, I had never stayed there prior. It is a historic hotel so the rooms are on the smaller side but nice. It was clean as well. I very rarely saw a member of the staff with the exception of check-in and out. The worst part about my stay was trying to park. The parking lot remained […] full and it is difficult to get in and out. There is quite a popular bar on-site but as a guest I was not happy parking down the street and walking to the hotel. Mehr

This hotel was fantastic! I loved the "old house" feeling of this building. The staff was so helpful and friendly when I checked in and were very prompt in all my requests. My room was beautiful and my husband, who was on a military leave, and I really enjoyed our time there. The Partridge Inn provided very friendly service and excellent hospitality. The over sized room was very, very clean. It's close to the Augusta Country Club for those who are fans of The Masters Golf Tournament. The hotel has lots of character and ambiance and was very reasonably priced. This hotel is in a great location - about a 5 minute drive to downtown nighlife and the riverwalk, 10 minutes to Augusta Mall. The hotel is old, the rooms aren't fancy but the beds were really comfortable, and the price was right. Also therestaurant was very good - which surprised me.

Good southern hospitality from the staff. Historic hotel that has been renovated on a street of old southern homes. Will stay there again on the next trip to Augusta.

For a high school reunion, the Partridge Inn bar was the final meeting place for both Fri and Sat nights. It was a perfect place to end the night at. Food in restaurant was excellent!

This is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Augusta. The check in was quick and the staff was courteous. The room was clean with very nice and comfortable beds. However the room in need of updating and smelled of mold. In fact the whole hotel had a mold smell about it that was hard to ignore. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar with a beautiful […] veranda overlooking downtown. On weekends they have entertainment and a wonderful Sunday Brunch. I was informed recently that this hotel is going on the market and I hope that whoever purchases it will keep it as a historic hotel and make some much needed improvements. Mehr

We checked in late and left early, so we didn't want to fool with switching rooms, but as others have mentioned there are some very loud air conditioning closets in some of the rooms. There was a loud wedding group at the bar, so we figured the noise would drown them out. What was once a renowned hotel is now in serious disrepair. The smell of mold was overpowering, the roof was leaking and cockroaches were seen scurrying around. It is up for public auction Aug. 2, and we could not recommend anyone stay there at this time. On the other hand, the staff were amazing - cordial and accommodating, and we sincerely hope they […] survive the transfer of ownership. Very nice historic hotel. Very well appointed and clean, comfortable room. They are pet friendly although no one mentioned the $50 pet fee until checking. Staff very friendly and helpful.

From the moment we walked in the door we were treated as if royalty in this beautiful, luxurious 100+ year old historic hotel. Everyone from Dora the splendid charming young concierge, with the beautiful smile. Dora was always very helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a worry-less, beautiful getaway. And certainly not to leave […] out the most trusting, caring, and best man for anything you need Mr. James our Valet. To say Mr. James went above and beyond his call of duty would be an insult to a man, i consider a dear special man at the end of our stay. He was always there to help and knew how to help in ways we did not know we needed before we did, he always made sure we , were safe that is the feeling you get from all the staff here family love it's like coming home to a beautiful historic mansion, where mom takes care of your every need. complete with a restaurant you will never want to leave and a bar that makes the best drinks with music and a big open porch to sit and listen to music in the night air it is truly magical..... so i ask you now, What are you waiting for book it! you will never regret it get a balcony room and find the love and peace again turn off your phones and go to P.I. room had to be changed 3 times in one day. Staff doing the relocation very helpful yet other Front desk personnel had a "don't care" attitude like it wasn't their problem we were unhappy

We recently stayed at the Partridge Inn for a couple of nights and were thrilled with the friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered, from the bartender to the wait staff to the front desk staff, were great! Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family visiting the area.

Albeit, we arrived just after a terrible storm knocked out the computers, but when told to wait, we were not offered a place to wait or refreshment for the hour that we sat. THe view of the room was terrific. THe food was very good.Everyone addressed us in a friendly, professional and sincere manner, but things were in a bit of a disarray; walls with […] handprints, odorous elevators, front desk phone ringing at length before answering. In 102-degree Augusta, it would have been ideal to have pool use, but we did not and were not offered any reason or compensation for the loss of the facilities. We were given a good rate, but next time, perhaps will think about staying elsewhere,even though we do like the old charm of the Partridge. Mehr

We stayed one night at the historic Partridge Inn and were very happy with our stay. If you like history, the atmosphere is wonderful and elegant. According to a framed newspaper article, President Harding gave a speech at a meeting there in the 1920's. We also had dinner at the Inn. Wonderful pasta meal and the service was great. This hotel reminded me of the Bates Motel,but larger. If you like the old look and you don't mind the ancient and scary feel then stay here.

I had last stayed at the Partridge Inn in 1990. The carpet has not changed since then. Pros Quiet and cool room. Comfortable bed with high quality linens Many good restaurants nearby (not walking distance) in the Surrey Center area.
