Loved the room and hotel, great location, within walking distance of all of the attractions. I have had issues with hotels in the area, I will certainly be back to this one!!!!!

The dolphin inn was exactly what me and my friends needed for spring break. Flawless view of the ocean, walking distance to everything you could want, very friendly and helpful staff. The pool isn't very large, but you've got the ocean out the door so it wasn't a problem. Peabody's is in stumbling distance, but the hotel was still rather quiet. My family and I recently stayed at the Dolphin Inn and my only complaint would be the size of the pool, everything else was wonderful. I would recomend the hotel and hotels.com and plan to use them again.

The room was very spacious and it was in a good location. I did open the drawer in the table and it had particles from the last stayers. I would have liked it best if I had a tv where my jetted tub. And my door was lock was broken after the maid came in and clean my room. And I had food in the refrig. other than this it was a good stay.

Visited off season, great pricing, clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Indoor pool on the 8th floor was a nice touch even though it was in need of a little TLC.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Dolphin Inn. The room was beautiful. It had a great view of the beach and the ocean. Our room had a balcony that had plenty of room. It also had a small kitchen area, a nice living room with a wrap around couch, and a dining table. The living room had a divider that you could pull closed if someone was sleeping in that […] room. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub. Two people are able to sit side by side comfortably. The bedroom had 2 double beds with super soft pillows. It also had a safe in the room for your valuables. There is no breakfast served at this hotel, but it is close to everything, and you can bring your own food to prepare in room. There is also a indoor pool. I plan on staying again next month! Mehr

Loved the spaciousness of the suite and jacuzzi room.

I guess I was expecting something a little better.When I booked this hotel I wanted to make sure it had a indoor pool. To my suprise there was an indoor pool but you had to walk outside to get too it. This hotel is okay for a summer stay but not ideal for a winter get-a-way. I was attracted to having a jacuzzi in the room only to find out that it didnt […] work. This hotel wouldn't be my first, second or third choice but I would stay again if the price was right! Mehr

I enjoyed my 2nd stay at this hotel. The entance is not all that updated looking when you are going into your room ( could use some remodeling), but it's actually relaxzing and comfy once in. I loved the heated pool! Guest Services, (Katherine & Latoya) are very nice & helpful young ladies! I'll be going back during the Spring!

our room was amazing. spacious, pretty. the view was beyond what words can discribe. staff was friendly. room was clean. liked that there was a safe in the room. very convenient location. did i miss anything? hotel was quiet. that is important. all in all we has a fabulous time in a fabulous hotel!

The Inn is convenient and the service was fine but the Inn really needs some updating. Separately, but just as important, I do not recommend VA Beach during this season. Most places are closed and those that are open are best avoided. Drive down for the lights and the ocean in winter, which are very nice, but avoid all else.

I prefer to sleep hearing the crash of the ocean. The bedroom was on the opposite side of the whole suite. Away from the ocean veiw. Tere was also a loud whilsle sound coming thru the suite door which happened to be right outside the bedroom. This noise was due to a very windy night. The layout was just ALL WRONG....from the beginig when designing the […] suite. Check around, there are other hotels where the living room and the bedroom have there own balcony veiw of the ocean. I had a personal friend recommend the Dolphin Hotel, it probably was a very nice hotel in the late 90's but it needs to come up to the current demand of patrons. A family of 4 on a very tight budget may select this hotel for its price and they will be disappointed for its accommodations and clean facilities. We stayed off season and it was very pleasant and the staff very nice. We are not beach party people so we enjoyed the stay based on a very good price and the neighborhood clean and safe. If you want 5 star this is not the place, yet the suite and the ocean front made up for anything that might be missing.

We spent a single night at the Dolphin Inn in VA Beach. The location is good for plenty of shops and restaurants, the staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a two room suite for 3 adults and 3 kids, and had plenty of room. The whirlpool bath is a nice touch. Though we didn't actually take any baths, the extra space […] was nice for showers. Mehr

Internet pictures can be deceiving. This motel has been around for a long time. Updates were poorly done. My rusty bed frame had a sharp piece of metal protruding from mid frame and I knicked my ankle on it (not good for someone on a blood thinner). Doors were exterior and "hallway" noise loud. Poor tv reception and no lobby. Parking was free but tight […] spaces. Freezer in small frig was encased in three inches of frost. Exposed pipes in bathroom. The balcony was barely wide enought for a chair and if you did use the balcony the a/c vent noise and warm air drove us back inside. The indoor pool was only slightly larger than kiddie pool. The one plus was that the room was on the boardwalk/ocean. Full moon on the ocean was beautiful but I could have enjoyed it just as much from the board walk. Definitely would not return Mehr

After living in the area 6+ years over 10 years ago, we knew what to expect. We were only there a couple of nights, but were treated to free live entertainment at the 17th street stage and a very brief fireworks display Sundays and Wednesdays. All rooms have balconies over the waterfront. Ours was two separate rooms on the top 11th floor with a balcony. Not […] a place for small children or sleeping babies, but my 3 year old was fine after removing the plastic patio chairs from the balcony. Building is dated and in need of paint, facilities are what I would consider beachfront vacation, but not resort. A simple sink and coffee maker with a dorm type refrigerator was enough to keep milk for coffee, leftovers and some water for the kids chilled. Quick beachfront access and parking make it well worth the fairly low rate for the waterfront location. Mehr

The Dolphin Inn is an okay hotel. The furnishings were adequate. Although, my children refused to bathe in the bathtub because of a stain in the bottom of the tub, it suited our needs for one night. What I really loved was the the location to the beach and activities in Va. Beach. The first night it rained, so my children played in the indoor pool […] and loved it. We watched the evening fireworks from our balcony. I sat out on the balcony and enjoyed watching the waves in the ocean and beach goers passing by, that is until the spinklers came on gave me a shower. Oh yes, and I have to mention that at 3AM while we were all sleeping the fire alarm went off (loud alarm sound with flashing lights inside of the room). We were told that we needed to evacuate the building. Which wasn't as bad for us on the first floor as it was for others on higher floors, since there is only ONE elevator in the entire building (the staff also use this elevator). Although the one evening was very eventful, we had a great time in Va Beach. The location definately makes up for the issues with the hotel. Mehr

Good for family who prefers two rooms with doors. (for early bed times and nap time). Too many suites are not separated by doors. Hotel is dated and could have been much cleaner by staff. Front desk was responsive to needs. I would stay there again

I stayed at the Dolphin Inn from August 3 through August 6. Although the hotel was located around restaurants, shops, area attractions, the room was absolutely filthy. There were two phones in the room; none of which worked. The refrigerator barely worked. The jetted tub would have been nice...but it was filthy. Overall my visit was magnificent. Everyone was friendly, and courteous. The hotel was clean, had great access to the beach. My family loved it. My only problem was the parking lot is tight spaced, if you are driving a large SUV be aware of this. I look forward to coming back next year.

Very friendly staff anything you needed they bought right to room right away. Only thing pull out bed in sofa was not comfortable at all may an egg crate cushion on the bed or something soft to make it better. But overall would come back and stay for sure.

The hotel is perfect location and fold out couch comes in handy. Beautiful view. The pool is small, our fridge leaked, and bathroom door was hard to close. Minor things but overall was a nice stay

The stay at the Dolphin Inn was great. The staff was very friendly. We found it very convenient to the beach and local shops. We loved the beach access right from the hotel. We also enjoyed sitting on the rooftop and listening to the weekend bands.The pool was small but our kids loved the indoor pool being on the roof. We would stay here again. Very old and out dated room. Our blankets had holes in it. Very dirty room.

On arrival my family and I were very pleased with the room. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Location is right in the heart of VB with a live band just outside the hotel every other night during the peak months. WE were on the 9th floor and only 4 rooms are on the 8-11 floors so we hardly even saw any other people there. Price was very reasonable. […] Its not a luxury hotel but you dont have to pay luxury prices either. All in all a great place and I look forward to staying with them again. Mehr

View of beach was excellent. Room was comfortable. Walking distance to a lot of resturants. Parking was limited. Would stay there again.

Room service had to be called repeadily to show up and clean room, took 2 days. Hotel was dirty, there was a lot of renevations going on at the hotel. The worst part was the hotel didn't monitor activity in the rooms, a room several floors above me had around 10 men staying in the hotel throwing garbage from the upper floors.

We have booked before from Hotels.com and been very pleased. The Dolphin Inn was one of the worse hotels I have ever been in. We arrived at 4:00, only to be told our room was not ready. At 6:30, I kinda "lost it" and demanded a room for my four grandchildren and us to check into. We had been walking the street for over 2 hours. Had to call front desk […] for clean linens. I was not about to sleep on that nasty stuff. As I FINALLY checked in I was told the swimming pool was shut down. Here I stand with 4 little kids and no pool. The ice machines did not work. The elevator only ran when it wanted to and there was ants crawling all over the nasty carpet. Please take this place off your Hotels.com site. Not somewhere I would ever recommend to anyone. Room was not very clean. Carpeting was terrible and the room was sprayed to cover up odor. Burn marks on carpeting indicated to me that this non smoking room was smoked in. Probably the reason for the strong spray. Being allergic to perfumes and sprays, I had to request that they not use any more sprays. Advertised Jacuzzi did not work. Could not get […] to sleep on Saturday night because of the noise and banging of doors. Mehr

The Dolphin Inn is situated in a most convenient location. Easy access to entertainment, food and or course the beach. The staff is outstandingly helpful and is one of the salient features of our stay at the Inn. The value is great and the room was comfortable. Keep in mind the use and abuse this hotel receives throughout the season; with that said, a great place to stay for the value. Friendly staff, good location, good neighborhood. Anything else can be overlooked.

All other rooms that we have stayed in at Virginia Beach were just rooms. This suite was sweet! All rooms have an ocean view and while it was slightly dated all the important amenities were up-to-date and everything was VERY clean. We stayed off-season and the rate was VERY reasonable. The people at the front desk were quite pleasant and helpful. My […] kids had a blast just staying in the room. Sleeper sofa, jacuzzi tub, kitchenette, 2 TVs, free wi-fi, and more... The room was in good condition. However, it smelled like a smoke. I asked the desk if we were in a smoking room and they said no but it smelled like it. The toilet back up but we did choose not to tell the hotel because it wasn't that bad and we were only there for 1 night. My kids loved the pool and they made plenty of use of it. What a great exeperience my family and I had at the Dolphin Inn.We actually live in Virginia Beach and wanted a hotel room at the oceanfront for the weekend.It was clean and spacious.Would definantly stay there again!!
