Fairfield Inn & Stes by Marriott Minneapolis St. Paul Arpt - Mendota Heights

Very nice hotel, extremely convenient to the airport, but in a very nice area so it didn't feel like you were next to the airport runway.

Hotel was easy to find and the staff upon arrival where very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The kids in our group (ages 3-5) enjoyed the pool and we appreciated that arm floaties and toys were provided. Shuttle service was available at all hours of the day - we took the shuttle to Mall of America for a late movie and […] loved having the pick-up back to the hotel at 1am! The shuttle drivers were super friendly as well. The breakfast was fantastic with a super selection of hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, large variety of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits and muffins and the hours accommodated our early and later risers. We could hear the airplanes but it certainly wasn't loud enough to keep us up and seeing the planes provided extra entertainment for the little ones. Hotel was very great as far as location to Mall of America. I was very impressed on how the room looked. The cost of the room was great too.

The breakfast area was kinda small and the waffle batter was too think so it held up guests from getting their waffles made quicker.

I chose it for the location and the free breakfast, both of which were exactly what I expected. I'm a low maintenance guest and didn't use much of the facilities, so I cannot speak to much of that, but the room was clean and fully stocked, and travel to MSP was convenient, so it was exactly what I wanted.

The only complaint i would have about this hotel was the toilet seat. As a guy, i had to hold the toilet seat up when trying to use the bathroom because it wouldn't stay up all the way. Other than this minor issue, the hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was very nice. Great place to stay

Much nicer inside than appearances indicate, close to MOA and airport. Convenient van service to MSP.

This hotel was nice. Knowledgeable staff about the surrounding area. Had a very nice pool that was very relaxing. It was nice that they had an hour in the lat evening that it was adult swim time since it was mostly families.

This hotel exceeded our every expectation! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were having the carpets cleaned the weekend we were there and they made sure to let us know and make it convievent for us. The breakfast was more then we expected and very good. We have stayed here at least twice before, so when we were going to the cities for a nice weekend we chose to stay here again. We arrived and checked in, and while walking by the pool area saw that the hot tub entry was covered with plastic. The hot tub is a big deal to us, so we went back to the desk and asked about it. The manager intervened and told […] us that it was being remodeled and that it was supposed to be done, but they got a load of broken tiles, so it was still ot done. She said that we could use the hot tub at the Courtyard next door for "no extra charge" if it was a problem for us. We remarked that it would be very inconvenient to do that. We would have to walk outside in the rain, or take our car to the other hotel, in our wet suits, etc. She offered a shuttle, but same issues would crop up with that. We looked at the room, then decided to check out the Courtyard. The desk clerk at the Courtyard was very nice, and actually figured out a way that we could get access to the pool area, which was an inconvenience for the Courtyard employeesbecause they would have to physically let us in everytime we wanted to use it. Despite this, she was very nice and willing to do it for us. Actually, she was so nice, and the place was lovely, and the hot tub was working, so we decided to try to move over there. We called Hotels.com and they took care of it. They even talked to the Fairfield and we went and checked out there and checked in at the Courtyard. Worked out great! Mehr

We had an OK stay, but hot tub broken. Rooms were average size to small. Average breakfast in the morning. Long ways from the airport and a few planes flew right over our hotel after 11 pm, so very, very loud. This shouldn't be considered an airport hotel because it is so far away.

While the staff was very nice and the hotel was clean I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. First, the walls are paper-thin in the rooms. i was on the 2nd floor and could hear people showering from the 4th floor. The room above me sounded like someone was going to cave through the floor. The heating system was also sub-par. The wall unit was constantly […] cycling and was terribly loud. Also contributing to my bad experience was the fact that a sports team was staying there and they ran the halls, slamming doors all through the night. I think the staff should have controlled this. The staff was very helpful and informative. They assisted us with all of our needs. This was the best experience we have had at any hotel. On our day of our departure. We had a flat tire. They shuttled me to get it fixed and picked me up when I was done. Everything was clean and in working order. The one and only thing I would suggest is in the breakfast […] area. Hotel was very clean and modern decor in rooms. Greeted with a smile upon entering hotel. They offered free shuttle to Mall of America and also shuttled us to the train station to take the light rail to the Metrodome. Made our trip so easy-didn't need to fight traffic or worry about getting lost. Pool and whirlpool was great. Breakfast was delicious […] and staff kept it clean and replenished. Althought I only spent a single night in the hotel and checked in VERY late, the staff was extremely accomodating. The air conditioner in my room was not working properly. The staff went out of their way to come up to the room, check the air conditioner, then offered to move me to another room. Several minutes later, she returned with a new key and […] told me I could move whenever I was ready. It's nice to know there are still businesses out there that take pride in good customer service. If I ever need to stay by the MSP airport again, I will definitely be staying here. Mehr

We were staying in a room diagonally across from the ice machine. It was SO loud. People used it late into the night and early in the morning, and it kept waking us up. We weren't even the closest room to it. I am sure that about 5 rooms near the ice machine were affected. If staying here, ask in advance not to be near the ice machines. But also, the […] noise insulation is just poor in general. We could hear people pass in the hallway too easily. The morning breakfast rush was a bit chaotic. It was very crowded and they kept running out of things - whether food, forks, etc. Mehr

This Hotel is very close to the airport with convenient restaurants. The staff is very pleasant. The pool and other guest facilities are nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We had to call the staff once and they came up right away! They were very kind in helping us with some directions! And our room was stupendous!

We traveled to Saint Paul to participate in the finals of the Saint Paul Chamber Music Competition. Eight students and two chaperones made up the party, so we reserved four rooms. This is our third stay at this hotel for this yearly event. The rooms and staff are excellent. We saw the assistant magager, Melissa, and staff (I wish I had written their […] names down) and were greeted each time with warm wishes. They were extremely accommodating and very helpful to us in making sure we knew how to get to Hamline and, of course, Mall of America! If groups from our program make it into the finals again next year, we will be sure to rent this hotel again! Mehr

Everything one would expect from Fairfield. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, not a luxury hotel but not a luxury hotel price

The hotel was clean and well kept, plus the staff was very friendly. The only negative was the counter in the bathroom needed repair as with age the corner had frayed and was pulling away from the base, which isn't much really. If you don't like plane traffic this isn't the place for you. You have planes about 15 times per hour. When they say "near airport" they're not kidding!! The airplane noise was a bit discomforting, though we got used to it after awhile.

I stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to MN. Close to airport but not to downtown. Clean, comfortable room. Included breakfast not bad either.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean hotel. Great breakfast in the morning.

The hotel seemed new. The room was very clean and the breakfast that was included exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay there again.

Very, very Nice! We can't say enough about the staff and the hotel. Everyone was very accomodating and freindly. We stayed for a full week for the PGA tourney and had NO problems. The breakfast in the morning was always great and always ready early so we could have something before leaving in the morning. Room was VERY clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The room was bright and cheery, and the beds were very comfortable. My children complemented on how comfortable they were. On a down note, I am not complaining about the Fairfield, however, it was very noisy out in the hallway until 2:30AM in the morning. The staff was very freindly and helpful, room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. No complaints, would definitly stay here again.

This Fairfield was consistent with my other Fairfield experiences: nothing fancy, but a good deal for the money.

We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions in June of 2009. It was very clean, very comfortable and very inexpensive. The only minor issue some people may have with the hotel is that there aren't a lot of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
