Das Hotel liegt 3 Minuten von der Bahn entfernt, die alle 15 Minuten zum Ortstarif in die Innenstadt fährt. Fahrzeit 20 Minuten. Zimmer und Bad sind klein, aber für einen Städteurlaub ausreichend. Frühstück ist reichlich und im Zimmerpreis enthalten. Wir haben nur einen Nachteil erleben müssen : Durch eine Lüftungsanlage wird ständig kalte Luft ins Zimmer geblasen, und das im April bei 8 Grad Aussentemperatur. Im Bad konnte man heizen, das Zimmer blieb kalt. Zumindest im Winterhalbjahr also nur zum Übernachten empfehlenswert.

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt in einem tollen Hotel
Lage
Alexandra Hotel liegt in Stockholm, Södermalm, in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Civic Square, Stockholmer Schloss und Rathaus von Stockholm. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe gehören: Nationalmuseum und Königliche Oper.
Ausstattung
Dieses Hotel verfügt über Folgendes: Bar/Lounge. Jeden Morgen wird den Gästen ein kostenloses Frühstück serviert. Ein kostenloser W-LAN-Internetzugang steht in den öffentlichen Bereichen zur Verfügung. Das Hotelpersonal hilft Ihnen gerne bei allen Fragen weiter. Einst war es wegen seiner heruntergekommenen Wohngegenden als "Messerstecherviertel" verschrien, mittlerweile zählt Södermalm jedoch zu den angesagtesten Stadtteilen von Stockholm und verfügt über eine lebendige Künstlerszene. Vor ein paar Jahren hat Benny von ABBA hier ein Boutiquehotel namens Rival eröffnet.

Ein ruhiges zentrales Hotel mit vielen Zimmer ebenerdig nach hintne, allerdings in Nachbarschaft eines Kindergarten. Ein Handtuch pro Person und Salzstangen unter dem Bett sind uns aufgefallen.

Für den Zweck ideal,sauber und relativ ruhig, Frühstück ist ausreichend, Service freundlich.
Wir hatten sehr unfreundliches Personal. Auf die Frage, wo denn das dritte Bett sei, wurde uns gesagt, wir sollen mal unsere Augen öffnen, dann würden wir schon sehen, dass das Sofa das 3. vollbezahlte Bett im Zimmer sei. Alle Angestellten kannten die Worte Bitte und Danke keinesfalls. Das Frühstücksbüffet war zeitlich zwischen 7.00 Uhr und 9.30 Uhr […] angegeben. Wer nach 9.00 Uhr kam musste sehen, dass er noch etwas zu essen bekam, denn es wurde nichts nachgelegt. Der Frühstücksraum wurde kurz vor 9.30 Uhr abgeschlossen, damit auch ja niemand mehr hereinkommt. Die Fenster in unserem Zimmer ließen sich nicht öffnen, sie waren mit Schrauben verschlossen. Kaffee und Tee waren ungenießbar. Wir waren schon in vielen Hotels aber so etwas ist noch nie passiert. Die Lage des Hotels war von der U-Bahnstation in ca 7 Minuten zu erreichen. Eine Beschilderung ist jedoch nirgends zu sehen. Das Hotel wirkt von außen her ziemlich schmuddelig. Was sich jedoch in unserem Zimmer nicht widerspiegelte. Mehr

"Gute Lage"
Das Alexandra Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Soedermalm. Die naechste Bahn ist leicht zu Fuss zu erreichen. Die gebuchten Einzelzimmer mit Fenster waren im Erdgeschoss gelegen und liessen sich nur durch eine kleine Lueftungsklappe belueften. Die Badezimmer sind klein, es gibt kein Duschbecken, so dass man beim Duschen das ganze Bad ueberschwemmt. Durch […] die Lueftung trocknet es aber schnell wieder und auch ein Badteppich wird bereitgestellt, so dass es doch ganz gut funktioniert. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich, ein Pflaster war an der Rezeption aber nicht erhaeltlich. Das Fruehstueck habe ich als angenehm empfunden. Guter Kaffee und frische Broetchen. Ob Si früh aufstehen mochten und nicht so viele Geld ausgeben wollen, diese ist perfekt fur dich! Schones fruhstuck und in der nahe von der wichtigsten Lage in Stockholm. Aber ab 9 Uhr fängt der Lärm an! Wenn Sie zu ausruhen wollen, ich empfehle dir ein anderes Hotel.

Meine Kritik richtet sich in erster Linie ans Hotelpersonal. Ich hatte mir zusätzlich 2 kleine Brötchen (in diesem Hotel sind die Brötchen so groß wie ein etwas größerer Tischtennisball) gemacht, da es auf eine Tagestour in die Schärengärten gehen sollte. Ich hatte mir nichts dabei gedacht, wurde aber am Kücheneingang "gestellt" und vor allen Gästen […] brüskiert, das gehöre sich nicht, es wäre sowieso zu wenig Brot da und dieser Service würde 60 skr kosten (=6 Euro) Auch der "nette" nie lächende Chef der Rezeption meinte, wenn ich solch einen Service haben wolle, solle ich in ein 5-Sterne-Hotel gehen. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt war das Verhältnis mehr als getrübt, Auskünfte kamen nur widerwillig und mehr als knapp, eigentlich schade. Mehr

"Günstiges Hotel in Zentrumsnähe"
Das Hotel befindet sich im Stadtteil Södermalm. Die Innenstadt sind entweder zu Fuß in etwa 20 min zu erreichen oder per T-Bahn. Die nächste Station ist Medborgaplatsen. Anreise vom Flughafen: Wenn man mit dem Flugzeug anreist und in Alanda ankommt, besorge man sich bei der Touristen-Information ein Ticket für 60 SEK oder die Stockholm-Card. Damit […] kann man dann mit dem Bus 583 zur Station Märsta fahren und dann mit dem SL-Vorortzug nach Stockholm. Tagsüber fahren Bus und der Zug im 15-min-Intervall. Zum Vergleich kostet der Expresszug 240 Sek oder der Flughafenbus zur Centralstation 110 Sek. Besitzer der Stockholmkarte können den Bus 583 und den SL-Zug damit ohne zusätzliche Kosten nutzen. Das Hotel erreicht man, wenn man am Bahnhof Stockholm Södra aussteigt (ohne Umsteigen ab Märsta). Dann sind es noch ca. 150 m zu Fuß. Das Ganze dauert insgesamt etwa eine Stunde - zum Vergleich braucht der Arlanda-Express vom Flughafen zur Centralstation 20 min. Dann muss man ja noch weiter nach Södra. Zimmer: Ich hatte ein Zimmer ohne Fenster gehabt. Das ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, reichte aber für meine Bedürfnisse aus. For a 3 star hotel, the rooms were too basic. the TV in the room didn´t work, there was no radio. The rooms on the second floor over the garage, was over loked by local residents, there was no screening on the windows. if a guest was placed on the 2nd or 3rd floor rhey would never be able to get a large case up the spiral staircase. the breakfast room […] was nice and clean, but the breakfast assortment was too limited, if you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor you have to walk the full length of the hotel just to get to breakfast. "Attitude problems"
The reception staff are at best, rude or hopeless, or, at worst, fundamentally dishonest. Expect no help from them with the kinds of problems that afflict travellers such as, in my case, baggage going astray. On arrival one receptionist, on seeing my name, announced that my bag had been found and would be delivered overnight. The next day his colleague […] announced that the bag had not been delivered and it was my fault for flying with a cheap airline as they constantly lost bags. He stated that if I had flown with SAS or British Airways I would not be wasting his time now as they never lost customers baggage! I don't know which planet this gentleman is on, but it's not the same one as you or I... Anyway, on with the saga. The next day a third receptionist did some vague hand fluttering when I asked whether my bags had been delivered, but didn't seem to know anyhting about them. On the day after that I met up with the first receptionist again. His rude colleague (the one who believes that bags are never lost bt SAS or BA - remember him?), when he saw me coming, pulled the first receptionist to one side and muttered in his ear while casting dark looks in my direction. When the first receptionist came back from this briefing he announced to me that: 'He had never said that my bag had been found.' that 'It must have been someone else.' and finally 'There are so many guests that he can't tell one from the other.' At this point he looked very pleased with himself, while the rude receptionist looked on with approval, obviously pleased that the party line had been delivered correctly to annoying guests like me who insist on not flying with 'proper' airlines... If you like being messed about while you're on holiday, and having unpleasant individuals score cheap points at your expense, by all means stay at this hotel. The location was really good, very close to the great part of Södermalm. The hotel offered us another room, because we would rather a room with a window. We had lost a ring in the first room and they did their best to find him and found him. Thanks again. The breakfast was really cared.

Hospitality was not a key concept in this hotel. If you asked for information, you did not usually get it, at least the information you wanted to have, even after several requests. The room was really drafty and thus fairly cold; the shower drain did not work properly, resulting in a bathroom flood; there were only two smallish towels, no bath mat or […] face/hand towels. Alexandra Hotel is located in a quite good area in Southern Stockholm. There are short walking distances to the train station and subway stations, and some nice restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The hotel itself was really good in a comparison to its price. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was well-organized. The room was really small […] but clean, a little bit oldish but satisfying still. This hotel is in a great location that is walking distance from the public services. I was only there for one night checking in at 2030 and checking out next morning at 0630. Stayed in room without a window. Didnt need one because of my check in time. Concrete walls, tv, soaking tub with shower. No frills no excitement. You get what you paid for. Room […] is clean, hotel was very quiet, front desk very helpful. Since there was no window the back wall was fully curtained off but had lighting behind the curtain so that you felt that there was a window with light shining through when it was on. Nice touches include free high speed internet and the breakfast was really nice for the low amount that you spend in renting the room. The location is away from the center but only a few blocks from several metro stops. We even walked to the Viking ferry terminal when we left. The four-person room was comfortable although the toilet/lavatory was small. The main drawback was the spiral staircase up from the ground floor, which made it too awkward to take heavy, bulky luggage to the […] room. We left the luggage in the hotel storage room without incident. There are no elevators. The breakfast selection and quality were good but one morning we had to wait for a table. "Great location, tiny rooms"
Spent three nights in this hotel. The location is great: close to the commuter train, and 2 minutes walk to the going-out area. The rooms are tiny but clean and comfortable. I would come back here again.

As long as you are going in prepared for the small rooms and no-frills amenities - this place is great! The rooms are quite small. My single room basically only had space for the single bed and a small chair and desk. And the bathrooms are small, with the shower being only a curtain you pull around on the bathroom floor. But the bed was comfortable, […] and you had all the basics that you needed. So as long as you're prepared for having only the basics, you will enjoy this place. Internet was reliable, and not as slow as other reviews made me believe it would be. Breakfast is included every day as well, and it's a nice spread of meats, cheeses, and breads. And the location was perfect! It's just a 2 minute walk to the train station (which is only 1 stop away from Central Station), and only a 5 minute walk to the subway (Tunnelbana). The street itself is quiet and relatively residential, but it's right near the main street of Sodermalm, which is full of great restaurants and cafes. I would definitely go back to this hotel! Mehr

The hotel was generally satisfactory although not with any upgrades. However, the person at the front desk during the day was something less than helpful and not at all friendly. The person who was there at night was much better and more willing to be of help. "Avoid unless you have no option"
Had a Cabin room: Very poor air flow inside the room, no windows, small room, hotel reception do not have any influence except inform the maintenance unit of the building. Internet connection speed was almost unusable. Location is decent - short walk from Slussen in a quiet area. Breakfast is ok.

Hotel Alexandra is clean and fairly well located (not too far from Metro line). Two aspects were not as good as expected. One was the actual size of the room and the fact that it had a curtain which when opened revealed a brick wall instead of a window - there was no window at all! and the second was the service - very cold and unhelpful.

Its located conveniently, but the rooms can varied in sizes for singles, and are pretty small. Most windows open out to the main road at street level, and curtains had to remained drawn most of the time to maintain privacy. Pretty small breakfast area with slow WIFI access.

The hotel had the perfect location and not hard to find the way to it from the subway station Medborgarplatsen. I was in town for a concert in Fryshuset and this hotel was four minutes away (with the subway), so in that kind of way too, it was perfect location. even for a concert in Globen makes this very comfortable near. Nice and helpful personel. the […] room was pretty dark when you have to use the curtains, base floor and the street just outside the window. Signs showing where the breakfast room is, can be useful if they dont want the question "where do I find the breakfast?" from every customer. At the end even if it only was for one night, I could imagine myself come back again. Mehr

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was cheap, staff were friendly and its in a really good location. 5 minutes walk from Subway station and 20 minutes walk from city centre They also had a good breakfast and had warm rooms which was good in the December weather. I would happily recommend it to people

As of 2010-11, there is at least one room that is tiny, has no window, has a bathroom the size of a closet with the shower head just sticking out of the wall next to the sink, broken hot / cold faucet adjustment, and uncomfortable furniture. Hotel is a bit industrial but friendly enough staff. Bed was comfortable and shower was good but shower room smelt a bit damp and maybe even smokey, even though it was no smoking. Else the hotel is only about 6 underground stops from the center and cheap enough! Buffet breakfast was pretty basic.
