This is truly a gem in the heart of Playa Del Carmen. The staff make the hotel what it is. Our bartender Fidel was the absolute best sharing stories and teaching us Spanish. The girls at reception were all fantastic and so was the bell hop. I've never seen anyone smile so much. Our room was a little musty but I believe our air conditioner wasn't working […] that well. La Tortuga is a magical find in the heart of Playa del Carmen, three blocks from one of the most beautiful beaches, anywhere, and one block off 5th Avenue, 'Restaurant Row' and another magical place after dark! Entering La Tortuga's reception area you have arrived at 'customer care' central and are immediately greeted with a welcome cocktail! Superior Standard & Junior Suites are recommended, as the best value...most rooms open onto the meandering pool/garden area, which is especially 'magical' at night. Also of note, Le Bistro, LT's sister restaurant, where 'free' breakfast is served daily, the poolside bar and 8-ball table. La Tortuga's sister, beachside resort, La Cabanas Tulum, with its own Le Bistro, is unbelievable. My wife and I have never before stayed at a non-beachfront property in a beachfront location, before, but highly recommend La Tortuga as a gem of a find! Mehr

we spent a night in this hotel before leaving for Belize. The hotel is very nice, near to everything and we a nice garden and swimming pool. The room was confortable and the personnel very polite and helpful. The breakfast is very good The bus station ADO Alterna is only few blocks. For sure a place to reccomend

Great hotel, beautiful pool area and clean rooms. We had a room facing the street- first night was loud due to a cover band playing at a restaurant next to the hotel (cover band was good, at least). It must've been even louder for the rooms closer to the restaurant. However, the following nights were quiet with no problems. No problems with lizards/insects, […] other than a few mosquitos. Breakfast served at the restaurant was fresh and delicious, really outstanding. Staff were friendly and very helpful. 5th avenue was close but not TOO close, and the beach was only a short walk away. Overall this was a great deal and I couldn't have been happier. The combination of the beach club with the hotel gives you everything you could want out of a hotel at Playa del Carmen. On our way to being married in Cancun, we stayed here for a couple of days prior to. Hotel was amazing, breakfast at the next door cafe was awesome and the staff was very accomodating. Spa was a little over priced as we were able to get massages down on the beach for waaaay less and have the ability to beon the beach with drink and food. The hotel is just great! It has a very good location, beautiful pool and a very nice staff. The hotel is not on the shore but has two beaches that the hotel guests can go and use the facilities free of charge. The breakfast is served at the hotel bistro and it is a great way to open the morning with. The hotel offers pickup service from Cancun's airport. […] We can tell that it is very convenient. We has been travelling around Mexico and stayed in hotels in Coba and also an all inclusive hotel in Playa. La Tortuga Hotel was definitely offered the best breakfast, service and even called us the day before leaving to ask if they could arrange transport for us to the airport.

I was shocked to see the size of the rooms, as there barely any room to move around. However, the location of the hotel is excellent, and the staff is courteous. The hotel does have all amenities, and although the swimming pool is beautifully spread out is not really "swimmable".

Great hotel for the price, close to the heart of Playa del Carmen. Very friendly and helpfull staff

La Tortuga is clean, conveniently located and beyond accommodating! The staff is very friendly and well versed in English. We availed ourselves to both the spa and restaurant - my massage was just what the doctor ordered (very pleasant and relaxing), and the food is outstanding! Great staff, good location, perfect vacation!

We loved this hotel! The price was really affordable (we went in May) and the location can't be beat! It's 1 block off of the main strip (5th Ave). We walked in and everyone was very friendly and the pool in the middle of the hotel courtyard is super cute! We swam during all times of the day and night! So relaxing. The bar staff is awesome and the […] Chee Chee drink (pina colada w/ vodka) is sooo yummy! Not too sweet - just right! Oh yes, the free breakfast is off the menu which is great! You can choose all sorts of entres like: eggs benedict, burrittos, etc. It also comes with fresh juice and coffee - No additional charge!! The room is very comfortable and clean. Tortuga took great care of us. The food at the associated breakfast was great, full breakfasts were delicious everytime. Room was clean and well appointed, with a nice shared patio area with the other few rooms in our area. The pool is gorgeous. The no kids policy is a winner as well; made it much more enjoyable for a romantic getaway.

The hotel is bright airy & attractive with a beautiful pool area & bar with a well-attended daily Happy Hour. The staff are all friendly & helpful. The other guests I met returned each year to this hotel & considered the staff family. The hotel restaurant is one of the best we tried in Playa, providing a generous breakfast. I would happily return to […] this hotel, but would recommend asking for a room away from Avenida 10, as it was noisy some nights. The room was comfortable & spacious, though the bathroom was due for renovation. The curtain over the glass door failed to block sufficient outside light at night. We stayed one night as this hotel before going over to Cozumel. The hotel is cute, clean, and breakfast was good. The room was the noisiest hotel room I have ever slept in. Our room faced the street and it was extremely noisey ALL night long. The hotel was clearly not anywhere near being at full capacity when we stayed there. I am not sure why staff […] did not booked us into an inside, court facing room (such a room may be more quiet). When the front desk was notified that we had not been able to sleep all night, there did not seem to be any concern, and no compensation. Mehr

Very nice hotel!

We spent one night at the hotel en route to an apartment further down the coast and could easily have spent the entire holiday at the Tortuga. It was convenient for the beach, eating and shopping in the resort. Whilst the tropical style pool area was partially sheltered it felt very relaxing and there was a sun terrace on the roof which would make a […] pleasant change from the beach.We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was excellent as was the service here and at the bar. La Tortuga is a great hotel value given its moderate price. The only drawback is that it's not located on the beach. The beach is only a few blocks away though, and you get passes to Mamitas beach club so you don't have to pay for chairs and an umbrella. Breakfast is included until noon with a nice selection and the food was good. We like to sleep in […] late so having a free meal until noon was a plus. Hotellet ligger bra med shoppinggatan där det ligger massor av butiker och restauranger runt hörnet. Rummen håller ingen hög standard, motsvarade ej våra förväntningar till det priset. Alldeles för dyrt om man jämför med intill liggande hotell som har högre standard till lägre pris. Till frukost får man välja en varm dryck, en kall dryck och en "rätt" […] från frukostmenyn. La estadia en el hotel fue muy agradable, sin embargo tuvimos muy mala experiencia con el parqueo puesto queel concerje hizo un arreglo para poder estacionar nuestras motos y el dia de salida a las 4am nos bloquearon la salida del mismo, Se intento contactar al encargado y gerente del hotel sin tener exito. Tuvimos que cancelar una cuota exagerada para […] poder salir, esto luego de ser amenazados de llamar a la policia si saliamos del estacionamiento. Mehr

El hotel en general es muy agradable, el trato del personal es excelente, todos fueron muy amables. Está ubicado en una muyt buena zona, pues solo tienes que caminar una cuadra para estar en la quinta avenida, y dos cuadras para estar en la playa.

L´Hotel La Tortuga e´senz´altro, il miglior Hotell in cui abbia mai soggiornato! La struttura é molto bella, le colazioni e le cene nel ristorante sono favolose!Posizione comoda per raggiungere il mare e la via centrale di Playa del Carmen. Il personale é fantastico, sono stati molto cortesi, disponibili e simpatici, facendoci trovare ogni giorno una […] sorpresa in camera (essendo in viaggio di nozze). Vi storkoste oss på dette hotellet. En nydelig velstelt hage i bakgården med svømmebasseng, boblebad, palmer, bar, sofalounger og ingen barn - innbyr til total avslapning. Usedvanlig hyggelige ansatte, bra service og vaskedame som pynter sengen med friske blomster hver dag. Skulle bare bli en uke, men forlenget oppholdet med 5 ekstra dager. Perfekt […] beliggenhet i forhold til shoppinggata (Av.5) og restauranter/uteplasser, men til tross for dette var det ingen støy utenfra. Hotellet har avtale med 2 strandbarer hvor du får gratis solseng om du kjøper mat og drikke der. Av disse vil vi på det sterkeste anbefale Zenzi, da denne har mye bedre mat, er billigere, har mye hyggeligere betjening og er bare 2 gater unna hotellet. Alt i alt et fantastisk opphold på La Tortuga! Mehr

Alltså jag vill tillbaka nu!! Klockrent hotell på alla sätt. Man kommer in i La tortugas lugn såfort man kliver in i den mysiga receptionen, och senare få mötas av dess vackra vy. Toppenbra service och god mat i restaurangen, och bara ett stenkast från stranden! En 11-poängare av 10!!

Avant d'opter pour le Mexique pour nos vacances, en regardant les hôtels sur votre site, j'avais déjà repéré La Tortuga et je m'étais dit que si j'allais à Playa Del carmen, il fallait absolument que je séjourne dans cet établissement. C'est un hôtel tellement paisible et pourtant très proche de la 5th avenue mais aucuns sons ne passent aussi bien la […] journée que la nuit c'est incroyable! Le personnel y est compétent et vraiment accueillant, chaleureux! Les Suites sont magnifiques, so romantic!lol La propreté de la chambre et de l'hôtel irréprochable, avec un ++ pour les pétales de roses sur le lit:-) bcp d'attentions particulières qui ont rendu ce séjour spécial! Le restaurant de haute gastronomie, à absolument gouter;-) le service y est comme la cuisine de haute qualité! Et mention toute particulière au Spa, ne repartez pas sans vous être détendu entre les mains d'une VRAIE professionnelle c'est de loin le meilleur massage relaxant auquel j'ai eu le droit en vacances! Bref tout est fait pour que le séjour reste inoubliable, rien n'est laissé au hasard, le moinde petit détail leur importe! Résultat: 100% de la clientèle satisfaite! Mehr

Ariivati in tarda serata è stato molto bello constatare che l'hotel, pur essendo nel centro di Playa del Carmen, garantisca una piacevole tranquillità. La Tortuga è molto bello e spesso viene la voglia di non uscire per goderselo appieno...magari stando in piscina sorseggiando un drink, prendendo il sole leggendo un libro o facendo un idromassaggio. […] Una piccola oasi tropicale.Fantastico!!! Il fatto poi di avere uno dei ristoranti migliori di Playa inserito nella struttura garantisce una grande comodità oltre che una non trascurabile economicità. Il personale è sempre molto disponibile ed è molto facile comunicare anche in italiano. Ottimi i cocktails serviti al bar .Decisamente positiva è la possibilità di fare un'abbondante colazione fino a mezzogiorno. Inoltre La Tortuga offre la possibilità di usuffruire gartuitamente della spiaggia più bella e attrezzata di Playa In questo senso consiglio di non portare teli da mare perchè vengono forniti a volontà dall'hotel. Un piccolo neo: qualche difficoltà nello stendere i costumi bagnati!!! Da ultimo non deve essere trascurato l'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Excelente Hotel y servicio. Aunque esta cerca de los sitios de diversion, esto no hace que sea un buen lugar para descansar tambien. Esta cerca de Mamitas, Cocobongo, etc. Excelente punto. El servicio, el personal y la comida son muy buenas. Es el tipo de lugar a donde regresaria.
