Sleep Inn At The Lake Wright - Norfolk

The location of the hotel was great but the telephone in my room did not work, consequently I could not call for room service. The Bar closes very early and I am referring to a Friday night.

Ants were present in the bathroom and shower area of the room we stayed in. Switched to the other side of the hotel and stayed one night in the Quality Suites hotel connected to the Sleep Inn just for a better accommodations. This room contained mold that caused an allergic reaction to my father, who is allergic to penicillin.

Nothing particularly surprising, either good or bad. Only complaint came from my wife, who said she could hear the guy in the next room "coughing his lungs up" (her actual description) throughout the night. I didn't hear him, but we were both able to hear people in other adjoining room and in the hall, so soundproofing left a bit to be desired. Otherwise, […] decent hotel, the usual continental breakfast selections (could have had full hot breakfast for $7 more), everything was clean and up-to-date. The hotel was close enough to the airport for convenience but not so close to suffer aircraft noise. The breakfast was excellent & the staff were lovely. I would definitely stay here again. The comment on the neighborhood is because I didn't see it. I was recommended to Bubba's in Virginia Beach for dinner on the water & it was (on the water) & great […] food too - wonderful she-crab soup and great salmon. Lunch at Hell's Kitchen in Virginia was even better - it looked like a dive, but the she-crab soup was spectacular - best I've ever had - & the crab cakes were all crab, & served with roasted asparagus & garlic green beans - highly recommended. The only complaint I have about my stay at this hotel is that I was unaware that they allowed dogs. There were at least two on our floor and they barked throughout the night which was very unexpected, distracting, loud and we had issues sleeping as a result.

The hotel was very nice. Main gate at the traffic light needs some type of reflector on the curb because time you pull in the gate, you are not in the actual parking lot .if you don't turn left when you pull in you will run into the median. We arrived at night and could not see which way to go when you pull in. Parking lot needs more lighting too.

I remember staying here as a kid on family vacays 15 yrs ago. They've completely changed the look since then, but still excellent none the less. Rooms were great and gave me joining rooms for my family. Housekeeping was awsume, only 20 min drive to VA beach through VA Beach Blvd, lots of restaurants, places to eat, supermarkets. The room was a little on the small size. It was cleaned every day. Staff was friendly.

The room is clean and service is nice. But the room does not keep the voice from each other, you can hear the next door conversation and they can hear you. Also when they are vacum the floor you can hear it. It's too noisy to stay, and you will not able to sleep because the TV from next door will bother you.

Everything was good except for the front desk clerk. She was rather rude, and to be honest that sets the tone for your stay when someone is like that. Thank goodness for the cleaning people and everyone else. I guess you can't judge a book by one bad seed!! But I tell you if I feel this way I am sure she has been rude to others as well :)

The room was very clean. The only complaint was that the walls were thin because we could hear the conversation of the people in the next room. That maybe because there was an adjoining door in which we did not request this room. I was happy that they allowed pets but was not please that they charge additional fee for pets. Nice hotel in general, however, our room had a number of maintenance problems. The shower door would not close due to being about an inch below the rest of the frame (that had to have been a problem well before I came, but never remedied). As a result, water got all over the floor that I had to clean up because I couldn't shower and hold the door somewhat […] closed at the same time. I called the front desk and they promised to send up maintenance to fix it so the rest of my family could shower after a day at the beach, but no one ended up coming. The phone was also dead! I had to call my brother's room on my cell for him to call the front desk about the shower door and phone! The rest of the family had to shower in his hotel room. Certainly other guests had called about these problems before me! Those two major unresolved problems ruined the stay for me! :( Mehr

The hotel was fine. I've stayed there before a few years ago. The main problem I had was there were ants in the room.

Our stay was pleasant, except for dog my dog allergies in this animal friendly hotel. After suffering itching & Sneezing, I ahd my rooom changed to a non animal room. I was comfortable there.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I dont think the check in person was to friendly (@ 3am). The water pressure was low in the shower. I think the hotel should have shuttle service to the beach but overall I enjoyed my stay.

Excellent hotel, no complaints!

I chose this hotel because it was near the airport and had a shuttle. The dinner I had was great but the phone in the room didn't work and in the morning I discovered ants.

This and the Quality suites share the same building and same "desk" area. Quality Suites has a full restaurant and bar which is accessible from the Sleep in lobby. Sleep in has showers only, which is ok. They worked just fine. Would be nice if there were a sink in with the shower and commode. A nice little hotel, great town to visit. Good breakfast, walls are a bit thin (we could hear the people in the next room talking loudly) but overall a nice hotel and good value for the money we paid

I was expecting better, the hotel has hot breakfast but was charging extra for it. Rooms are too small for two beds.

Another reviewer stated that the walls were "paper thin", this is very true. I could hear people talking in the courtyard by the pool at 3:30 am and then at 6:30 am I could hear the couple in the next room talking and their TV clearly. These were normal conversations, not yelling. I would say the builder skimped on insulation when this hotel was built. Other […] than the noise this hotel is quite nice and conveniently located. Only had a one night stay there and didn't get to use the pool or the fitness center, but everything else was simply outstanding. The front desk staff was courteous and welcoming and the rooms were exceptionally clean. I really didn't expect this much quality for this little price. El hotel está muy bien ubicado y es fácil llegar. Las habitaciones son cómodas pero tienen que mejorar los colchones y la ducha del baño que sale con muy poca presión. Las paredes y las puertas son muy finitas y se escucha cuando la gente está en le pasillo.
