"management ruined our stay..."
Decided to stay the night on a cross country move to Houston, TX. After 9 consecutive hotel stays throughout the US, we had the worst experience at this hotel! Our morning was ruined having to deal with a rude and uncaring manager! We checked in at 3am and had "hotels.com" call them beforehand to make sure we could bring our 2 dogs... Sean was the one […] who checked us in and confirmed it was not a problem. OMG! At checkout, the hotel manager yelled at us and said his hotel did not accept pets?? "Great last minute stay!"
I booked the room the day of and received a discount. The hotel and surrounding area are nice. I was pleased with the service, cleanliness of the room, and the breakfast was awesome for the price (actual hot food). My number one concern was that the doors to exit the hotel did not lock at night. There was a sign and tape that said do not remove, maintenance. […] My room was a couple rooms down from both exits. Also, the room smelled slightly of smoke, but I have a very good nose. Even with that being said, I would still stay at this location again. I would just speak to the front desk about the doors. This location was a pleasant surprise. Very convenient, right on Hwy 59. The room was well kept and clean. The wifi was super strong. The breakfast offers were bacon, sausage, scrabbled eggs, dry cereals, and make your own waffles, of course decaf coffee and juices. It was well worth the visit.... the room was comfortable, the TV was real nice. I don't know why everyone puts bad reviews about this place. My only thing was that the closet wad small. Room was very clean. Front desk clerk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She got us into a first floor room, so I would not have to carry my work up to the second floor. Overall pleasant stay. Employees were very courteous and helpful. Only drawback, A/C was turned OFF. Checked in at 7pm and room did not get cool enough for sleeping until after midnight. The chair and ottoman in my room had stains all over it and I stayed as far away from it as possible. The attendant at the front desk was very unhelpful.
