The hotel was very easy to book through Hotels.com the information about the hotel was accurate and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. All hotel staff are friendly and able to help with any queries. The rooms were comfortable and the age of the hotel adds character to the shapes of the rooms. "Friendly but Cold!! Wrap up if sleeping here!!!!"
The hotel is pretty and close to a lovely village BUT...The staff seemed a little abrupt and avasive. The hotel is very dated and although I am not adverse to the qualities of 'shabby-chic' this was just a little shabby. I was unable to check-in early without making a payment of £10 and as I arrived at 12noon after a 2hour journey and simply wanted […] to use the room for 30minutes in order to get changed for a wedding in the area at 2pm, after my long journey... I thought that was a little steep, so I changed in my car. The night staff were far friendlier and helpful and upon my return to the hotel at midnight I was shown to my room. Which was BIG... but looked as though it should have been a room for staff. A green bathroom suite with corner 'jaquzzi' bath (complete with bath panel hanging off in one corner), carpeted bathroom, and a cupboard the size of a office... If I were rating this room on size and in the 1960s it would have been given 5*. However, my main gripe is, that at 2am I had to get out of bed and put my hoodie, hat and scarf on over my pjs as the room was so cold :( I could not then get back to sleep for quite some time making the long journey home very tiresome and dangerous!! "Very noisy, not too clean"
I booked myself into the Executive room hoping to get a nice relaxing break. It wasn't that great to be honest. The bed was a mattress on top of a wooden box! it was so hard I just couldn't sleep. When I finally got to sleep I was awoken by staff at 1am who was having a row with each other in the courtyard. Then I was awoken again at 3am by the staff […] again in the courtyard still drinking and chatting and the sound just travels around the courtyard. This happened every night except when it rains when the staff must have found somewhere else to drink and chat. The room had a connecting door so I could hear everything my neighbours was saying, lucky for me they went to sleep early. I could grow potatoes in the carpet it was so dirty. Impressive period building slightly let down by tired looking interior, as stated by many other guests. However, keeping the rates in mind, you should not expect a five star environment. This hotel isn't part of a large chain neither (which may add to the charm). Our "standard" room wasn't big but certainly provided everything we needed. Bathroom was […] the least impressive bit; a bit seventies with staines everywhere and cracked tiles. But definitely clean throughout! Positive points (and enough to recommend this hotel): lots of free parking space, large welcoming reception area and lobby, nice breakfast, garden to play with kids and convenient location for both Bicester Village and Oxford. On arrival, this hotel look lovely, however once you enter you can see that it is looking very tired. It must be dificult for them to do this as there don't seem to be too many guests. MY colleague and I stayed for 2 days and dind't meet any other guests. From a business point of view, the wifi signal is practically non existent, with a continual message […] of very low signal/no connection. The rooms were also very drk, making it difficult to wrk on my laptop. I'm sure it's a lovely hotel if you are just staying for a night passing through, don't stay for much longer. I have had a delightful weekend at the Holt (lovely walks especially by the canal)before but this was a business trip. I arrived late on a very cold night and received a warm welcome which included delaying the bar closing so I could get a much-needed pint! Lovely, OLD (hundreds of years), but tastefully updated hotel. Fun, kinky history of highway robber of barrons who let the ladies keep their baubles if she would dance with him. Hanged at age 27. Rumors of ghost even tho' hanging not local to hotel. Just outside an English country village of 1000. Just north of Blenheim Palace (Churchill). Full english […] buffet breakfast was excellent. Lovely patio and gardens to mill about. Full dinning room and bar menu both avail for dinner. Only disappointment was the quality of the the bed. OK, but not great. I would certainly stay again. While the hotel is easy to find, has good parking and looks good, there are a few things that surprised me. You are 'forced' to pay for their internet as other internet doesn't seem to work. "Beautiful countryside hotel"
The hotel was quiet but quiet far from the city center. The room was clean but tight. Spacious parking. The customer service was good. Generous buffet breakfast.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"The Holt Hotel - ideal for both Oxford & Cotswolds"
All the staff did all they could to ensure everything about the stay was good. The customer service was higher than I usually experience in a 3* Hotel. Easy parking and access to both Oxford and The Cotswolds.
