Ca' Malipiero - Venedig

The room was satisfactory for our needs and very clean, but was not what was described on the website. Our description and pictures provided made it seem more like a small condo/flat with ornate features. It also indicated a balcony was provided. None of this was included in the room. Reception staff not overly friendly or helpful Upgraded to a very large room with sitting area due to booking last room available. Wifi service available in certain parts of hotel. Location just a short walk to main shopping area. Hard to find advise catching water taxi. Overall good experience.

called I was coming in 20 minutes from the station and had to wait 35 minutes knocking at the door with all my suitcases outside at 5 in the afternoon. Then thanks to some guests coming out I was able to come in and climb 3, 4 to 5 mts high stories to the reception, where I complained for this situation and that I was going to put a complaint in the […] tourism department, then he person in charge in a very anoying way told me that he didnt have my reservation, to go to an other hotel and I had to convince him I wasent going to put the complaint, so he will let me stay. then I found out that I wasent staying in the Ca Malipiero but trough a door took me up an other floor to a Residence with a diferent name of lower class with my bathroom shared with others. When I saw the pictures you can see that it looks like a Palazo and was willing to accept coming up and down the steps, but not what I went trough. totaly outregous, I tried to find another hotel near by, with out luck and ended having to sleep there. I want my money back, no excuses. The next morning It took the other persons in the other room 40 minutes to do their toilett and left the bathroom in disgrace, to the extent that I had to go to another floor to the bathroom of guest that had just left. By the way I got confused going to the toilet at night, to find that my key was like any other key because I entered another room by mistake. It was imposible to loock the room from the inside The next day I got my standard room as reserved and eveything was ok. But the bad time and waste of time on my two day trip to Venice is unreplacable. one more thing to add, I had to stay another night to finalize the reason for my trip with all the time I losted knocking and discussing, in the next door hotel de la Piave, Mehr

The hotel was originally the residence of a Duke of Venice and was built in1484. It has been somewhat renovated but could stand improvement as would be expected with a structure of such age. Its location was convenient and certainly within walking distance to St. Mark's Square. In addition, it was one of the more reasonably priced hotels in Venice.

Though the overall experience was adequate, I would not return to this hotel. 1) I was given a room directly behind the reception table (my thin door was 3 metres from the reception desk - my bed was 3.5 metres away from reception desk). This meant that I heard every word of every conversation at reception even with the door closed. Reception seemed […] not to care when I motioned to them to quiet down their chatty personal phone calls while I was trying to relax in room. Basically I don't have respect for a hotel that does not realize the inherent problem of having a guest room so close to the reception desk. The reception room was so huge that the desk could be relocated elsewhere. 2) I learned that they have NO SECURITY or regard to the importance of guests' passports. My passport was left completely unattended for an hour on a table in the reception hall (placed half-way under a computer keyboard on a table and completely accessible to anyone who entered the mostly emply room). This was done even after I told them twice that they should be securing my passport carefully while waiting for their photocopier to work (I had noticed their lax approach). I demanded my passport back as I did not trust their safekeeping of it. 3) bathroom was clean, sleeping area carpet was not very clean. 4) Poor English. Rather than indicating lack of English skills (which is fine) check-in staff kept saying "Yes, understand" to everything and gave irrelevant answers when he clearly did not understand what I was asking. As stated above, this is a reasonable place to stay for people who only want a place to sleep. It seems from other reviews that we may have had a poor room compared to others. The breakfast, also, was not particularly good. Although the pastries were fresh and the coffee passable, we had two mouldy yoghurts. The location is very convenient, however. […] There was a considerable amount of noise, even in January, from the adjacent square. All in all, this was our least satisfactory hotel of our trip. In terms of getting to the hotel - it took us exactly a half hour to walk from the train station once we knew how to get there, considerably longer with several wrong turns the first time. Mehr

Beautiful hotel, the rooms were huge and bathroom was not cramped. Huge windows and was quiet in the evening. Location was good, not more than 5 minutes away from St marco Piazze and the restaurants surrounding were a lot cheaper than next to St Marco piazze. Breakfast was limited.

Ca' Malipieri has a discreet entrance, followed by a nice old-fashioned atrium and stairs that take you to the reception on the second floor. The hotel is made from an old palace and rooms are located still as they were at the time the palace was "alive", so they are quite pictoresque. Inside it's in old-Venice style, quite nice, though not super luxury. Floor […] is wooden, so you hear every step. It's a not-go for people with walking disabilities becasue of the stairs. Hôtel difficile à trouver, mais confortable et le décor des chambres vaut le détour. Personnel sympathique, mais parlant très peu anglais ou francais (Italien seulement au déjeuner).

We booked a room at Ca' Malipiero in the hope that we were going to stay at a real palazzo. When we checked in, we were escorted to a hotel 10 min. away which had nothing to do with the hotel from the pictures, with a room with a window looking into cleaning room. An expensive and sad surprise - save yourself the trouble.

Svært at finde men god og central beliggenhed. Kæmpe store værelser med fine møbler. Vi havde booket 2 stk 2 sengs værelser men fik ved ankomst et værelse med 4 senge. Men det var kæmpe stort med 11 stole og 3 borde.

Surprise lorsque nous avons eu la chambre !! Située au dernier étage, plafond pas plus haut qu'1m80, climatisation défaillante et le comble du bonheur, salle de bain et WC, situé un étage plus bas,à la hauteur de la réception !! Personnel pas très compétent à la réception. Le petit déjeuner était assez copieux,et offert , peut -être par compensation […] avec le manque de confort de la chambre. Hotel très bien situé par rapport à la place Saint Marco. L'image de la chambre sur le site internet, ne correspondait pas, malheureusement à notre chambre. Bra, gammalt hotell med bra läge, dock trånga trappor, då vi bodde på 4;e våningen, och fick släpa bagaget, ingen hiss. Beskrivningen av hotellet anger 1 våning, dåligt ! Badrummet delades med ett annat rum, vilket inte framgick av beskrivningen=privat badrum ! Dåligt ! God frukost, trevlig och hjälpsam personal

Staff was very friendly and rooms were big and clean. One of the cheapest hotels in Venice, so I recommend this to everyone.

L'hôtel est mignon et idéalement situé (moins de 10min de San Marco) Le personnel est sympathique Les chambres sont propres et bien chaufées Le petit déjeuner n'est pas super (croissants pas bon, pas beaucoup de jus de fruits, pas de fruits, pas de patisseries)

Lazy service for too high price. Quasi stylish equptment of low quality, looks good only on photos.
