"Schöner Aufenthalt mit kleinem Mangel"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 21. Feb. 2013Wir waren für drei Tage im Hampton Inn & Suites. Das Hotel scheint noch nicht so alt zu sein und unser Zimmer war schön eingerichtet. Die Größe des Zimmers war dem amerikanischen Standard entsprechend recht groß. An der Sauberkeit gibt es nichts zu mäkeln, es war einfach sauber. Ausgestattet war das Zimmer mit einem LCD-Fernseher und einer Ladestation für Geräte, die über USB-Kabel zu laden sind (iphone, ipad, etc.). Die vorhandene Bilder im Zimmer passten sehr gut zu Savannah und sorgten für eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig. Negativ sind uns folgende Sachen aufgefallen: kein Kühlschrank, kein Safe und das W-LAN war eine Katastrophe (sehr, sehr langsam). Besonders unverständlich war uns, wie in einem recht neuen Hotel so eine Klimaanlage eingebaut werden konnte. Obwohl wir nachts unsere Klimaanlage ausgestellt hatten, konnten wir die Klimaanlage des Nachbarzimmers hören, als wäre unsere angeschaltet (verglichen mit anderen Hotels). Fazit: lediglich die laute Klimaanlage ließe uns überlegen dieses Hotel nicht noch einmal zu buchen.

"Altstadt zu Fuß zu erreichen"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 16. Nov. 2012Sehr freundliche Rezeption, hilfreich und zuvorkommend. Ausstattung ist gut, wie es von einem Hilton erwartet. Das Haus liegt an einer vilebefahrenen Straße, die Fenster sind allerdings gut isolierend. Nach hinten ist der Blick auf einen Parkplatz ok, in den höheren Etagen ist der Flußblick allerdings zu empfehlen. Frühstück im Hotel ist gut, weil amerikanisch - und daher zu empfehlen.

overall it was good, however room service was terrible. They were hard to get to answer the phone, the food arrived and was cold, the pasta was like rubber. I ordered shrimp and lump crab meat pasta. They delivered 6 rubbery shrimps and one tiny piece of crab meat. Part of the order was a pot of coffee and a pitcher of tea. They did not send any cups […] or glasses to use. Not what expected for the price charged - and to add insult ot injury was the 20% surcharge for using room service. What a rip-off!! Wont be making that mistake again!!!! Can't beat the location -- only a public parking lot between hotel and beach. Ask for ocean view as half rooms face ocean and half face the island. Nice little balcony. Close enough to walk to pavilion, restaurants and bars (one block!) but far enough that you don't get a lot of noise. Hotel is modern enough -- and typical of Tybee. A nice fridge in […] room. Rooms are perfectly nice but not fancy. Older TVs but who needs that when you're outside most of the time and have that great ocean view. Staff very nice -- southern hospitality. "1st floor behind sand dunes dont mean beach front!"
I reserved a room on the "beachfront" side of this hotel. When I got to my room all I could see was parking lot and sand dunes.....no beach. There was no microwave in the room either. The first night was so hot because the air conditioning did not work. "Parking lot in front of the ocean view."
I requested an ocean view and yes, I got that but with a full blown parking lot between the room and the ocean. Certainly unexpected. The hotel was probably built in the 1970's with alot of parking lot spaces without trees or landscaping. This is your basic hotel - relatively nice, clean, and somewhat quiet. The major advantage here is that it is right on the beach...you don't have to pay to park, and most everything (e.g. the beach, shops, and restaurants) is walkable. We had a restful time & enjoyed looking at the ocean from our room on the 4th floor. You pay a bit more for an ocean view, but it's worth it if you spend any amount of time in the room. The beach was clean & quiet while we were there mid-week. Loved that! This hotel is very close to the pier & shops. We walked everywhere. And the restaurant view is […] fantastic! "Not what we expected"
Our room was clean and we were able to check in early after our morning arrival but some of the "public" areas of the hotel were not clean , were in need of paint and smelled bad.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Best Hotel on Tybee"
We moved from a hotel across the street to stay at Ocean Plaza, we arrived 3 hours prior to check in, but they let us have the room early anyway since we had two little ones with us. The rooms are spacious and offer Refrigerators, Cable TV and are very clean. In Addition the hotel offers a choice of two pools and a wonderful restaurant the Dolphin with […] excellent seafood as well as steaks cooked to order. It was great. But when I called and spoke to your booking person, I said I wanted a top floor beach view room and when it got there, I was booked for a first floor room with no view of the beach. Imagine waking up to the sunrise over the beach? Make sure to pay the extra to stay in the oceanview rooms so you can watch the sun rise and sun set each day. The staff is kind and friendly. The food was delicious. The rooms are moderate but comfortable. The hotel is surprisingly quiet with the public parking lot just below the rooms. "Old and tired!"
This property uses the term "resort" very loosely! This is a very tired, old property. A 1970's motel calling itself a resort. There is no common lobby area and although the photo of the property from the beach makes it look as if it sits directly on the sand, there is a parking lot outside the back of the hotel. The air conditioner fan is very loud. […] The restaurant service and food is disappointing. Overall, it has a very uninviting feel and overpriced for the quality of the facility. This was a great hotel right on the beach and steps from the pier. Powder sand beach. Hotel was very clean with an updated bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were just right. Room had a balcony. 2 elevators for guests use. On site restaurant overlooking the ocean. Hotel is within 2 blocks of several restaurants and shops. Would definitely […] stay here again. "Great beachfront and central location on HHI!"
We were first placed right behind the elevator. Requested a move and we were moved immediately. We were woken up all night long by a group of high school tennis girls. Security was called multiple times but it seemed the group never settled down. We extended our stay by one night and requested a room move away from the tennis group. A friendly response […] and a quick move, unfortunately next to the elevator again. NOISY elevator but pleasant night's sleep the 2nd night. Everyone was VERY friendly.
