big room, clean, pretty lousy breakfast but very close to where i needed to be and much cheaper than the other accomodations in the area.

Over all very good deal, good rate, great breakfast. Clock alarm did not work, needed to ask for more towels, (king room, 2 towels, most places give us 4). After we left, even though it was all ready paid, we were charged almost $100 on our card, when I called they took it off with out a problem. but did not explain what it was for. "Rating"
I have no idea how this hotel has been rated so high. It deserves a rating in the high 2's or low 3's at the very best. I've stayed at many hotel.com hotels and usually the review ratings are accurate, in this case however, it wasn't.

the breakfast was good and the lobby was clean, however after we checked into the hotel and unpacked my son had dropped some food and there were ants everywhere, they did come spray the room, and i had two young kids and they put us next to construction workers that were drinking and very loud, the desk was freindly. the dyer took two times to dry a […] small load of clothes. it was conveintly located though. We stayed one night so we could park our car for 2 weeks and flew out of Bishop Airport the next day. The staff we very nice and the overall condition of the hotel was very good, breakfast was great, would stay there again any time!!!

"Everythiing great EXCEPT...."
everything was great except for the fact that they double charged me for my room and it took them FOREVER to refund the money. I had to call them several times in order to get it done even though everytime that I called they said that it was done...

"overnite stay during move"
We found ourselves needing a place for one night and were very pleased with the cleanliness of our room...one of the cleanest I've ever seen (and I travel with clorox wipes). Our room faced the freeway..and altho you could hear traffic when the HVAC was off, it certainly was more than tolerable when the system was on. Not a deal breaker at all. Cleanliness […] and pet friendliness trumps that anytime. They were pet friendly (tho very specific about rooms and where pets could be honoring those w/ allergies) and the price was very fair. If you are staying in the Flint/Grand Blanc/Fenton area, I highly recommend this hotel. Mehr

Great place to stay for the price! Staff was more than helpful! Breakfast was good! They are more than helpful at this location! Good job staff!
"Family visit"
The room was comfortable and clean. Any issues like a faucet left running above us and the tub drain not draining were addressed promptly and effectively. Staff was accommodating and pleasant when needed. Would stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean. I stayed alone, during my 6night stay I felt very safe.

Excellent breakfast.

The main reason I chose this hotel was that it was right off the hiway. I was pleased with this hotel,staff and the room was clean. Everything was comfortable and quiet.
When we checked in there was a little glitch but it was taken care of immediatly. Jamie the front desk girl was an amazing help and super friendly! Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. One of our rooms the bathroom light kept going out and the fan was super noisy I called the front desk and they apoligized but they didn't have a maintence guy […] on the weekends, but that was the only thing that was wrong. Our housekeepers were amazing, I threw the beds together trying to save them some time but when we came back our beds were made the way they make them, and they did an awesome job in our kid's room! Set up their stuffed animals on their beds and they found that the highlight of their day! Will definitely go back to this motel and recommend it to family and friends!! The room smelled and the floor was stained and damp. The lock on the door broke as well so didn't feel safe. Breakfast room was crowded and not restocked in a timely manner.

"Very nice hotel for the price"
Stayed with family to visit the Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad. Front desk was very, very helpfull in suggesting restaurants and giving directions (Henry was great). Hotel was clean and we really enjoyed the pool with the kids.

We have stayed here several times, never again! Short version Check in was too long and the clerk never made eye contact with me or my wife. She said no rooms at 2:15, come back at 3:00, we did and finally got a room about 3:45. The hotel did not seem very full. Room was "old", carpet dirty, AC kinda worked, the door did not lock or shut properly. […] The TV barely worked, we were told they would replace it and at the end of a four day stay it was not. There was never any OJ at breakfast, when I brought it to the attention of the person working she did not ever get it refilled by the time we were done. We would have gone elsewhere but we had prepaid the room and really did not know what to do to get a refund. Mehr

"Only if you have to"
The hotel was small but looked okay. We waited over 20 minutes to get checked in een though there were two people working, the other was on the phone trying to the keycards working but was on hold the entire time we were in line. We watched one lady come down 3 times because her cards wouldnt work. They made us feel guilty for enforcing the adult swim […] time clearly posted in several areas. It's not that we wanted to kick kids out but the rules were posted. Jacuzzi tub is NOT jacuzzi tub and the water kept draining out. Would only stay again if nothing else available, pay the extra $10 and stay at the Holiday Inn across the street. Mehr

"Excellent Hotel"
I just needed a cheap room one night and decided to book a room at the AmericInn. I figured it was only for one night and that I could deal with a less nice hotel. From the moment I walked in and was greeted exceptionally well by the customer service staff, I knew this was a hidden gem. They were very nice and accomadating and were truly concerned about […] whether or not I had a good stay. They told me where everything was in the hotel and the amenities that were provided. They also repeatedly mentioned multiple times that if anything was wrong or not cleaned or if I had any other concerns just call the front desk and they would take care of it immediately. Needless to say nothing was wrong and the only time I had to contact them was to receive the password for their internet connection. The beds were decent and the pillows soft, but the most important thing was that I never heard any noises from other bedrooms. I have to have it quiet to sleep and I had no problem with that. Other than that the bedroom was clean and neatly organized with a folder of anything you wanted to know about the hotel and the surrounding area. After staying the night I realized I wouldn't mind staying here for another night or two if I could. Upon my departure the customer service was just as friendly as when I walked in the night before. They too were just as concerned that I had a wonderful stay. They have a complimentary breakfast, which was good in variety. I never used the pool, but did like the fact that it was adults only after 10pm. As I was leaving I remembered my perceptions of this hotel when I first booked it online and now how I would've gladly stayed another night if time provided. The hotel is no Ritz or Radisson, but is no joe shmo hotel either. I've stayed in many hotels in Chicago and have never felt as well deserved as when I stayed here. Mehr

Greeted by desk clerk and given a room on 2nd floor arrived to room to find that this room had not been cleaned yet. walked back down stairs to desk given another room on the 2nd floor back upstairs with luggage in tow, this room was clean and very nice when were finally inside. The breakfast was very nice each morning, My only issue is that when we […] walked pass our neighbors room we seen a large white dog setting on the bed. I think there should be a block of rooms / floor just for families with pets only . I know the bedspreads are not washed after ever room is used. Nice hotel, Nice rooms would stay again. Mehr

"Nice hotel weird policy's"
The Hotel has a new policy that allows them to take an extra $50 as liability insurance in case of damage to room. It was suppose to be for cash paying customers only but the front desk attendent still took my credit card down even though they had it on file. The next morning at check out I asked to make sure that $50 charge was removed and they said […] oh yea you didn't need it anyways. Just wasn't the best way to be playing with peoples money in my opinion. Other than that everyone was friendly and the hotel was in good condition. Mehr

The room was nice and the indoor pool but don't stay if you need an early shuttle to the airport as they don't start running till 9am. I would not have paid this much to stay here if I had known I would be out $14 for cab fair when they advertised free shuttle service. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean.
The cleaning people did not furnish us with bath towels daily. We had to go get tissue for the bathroom.
