AmericInn Airport/Mall of America - Richfield

It was gross, the curtains were stained up with something and very dirty. ( I even took pictures thats how bad they were.) We were in a non-smoking room that you smell strongely of smoke. The only good thing at breakfast was the waffles, the orange juice was so watered down it was see through. This is the second time I have stayed at a Americnn cause […] I thought they were suppose to be nice, but I will not stay at another one cause they were both gross and very much outdated. Mehr

Very satisfied

The Hotel was very nice..We didn't get to the hotel till 9ish in the evening or so and wish they could've given us a discount as we had to check out at 11 in the morning so we didn't get to enjoy as much as we would have liked..... The breakfast was good and it was really clean.

Clean, basic accomodation, very close to both MSP and MOA. Good breakfast, free shuttle service to airport and mall. Only drawbacks: no restaurants within walking distance and I was on hold for a while with the shuttle service to get from the airport to the hotel. (The hotel contracts with a private taxi/shuttle service and pays with a card.)

The location and staff was excellent. As far as the cleanliness of the room, I was not impressed.....the corners and behind or next to anything I don't believe have ever been vacuumed or dusted. Not impressed with dirty rooms.

Hotel was easy to find just down the road from the Mall of America, it was clean inside and out. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean with a new LCD TV and a very nice selection of cable channels. The pool and hot tub was clean and a joy to use. Place is a dive, got sick there

Room was fine, but I did find some cheetos under the edge of my bed which tells me that the cleaning person didn't vacuum under the edge of the bed. The sink faucet had way too much pressure, I had to remember to turn it on only a little bit because it would spray me. The room had no fridge or microwave, which was fine for me. Location was very good, […] close to the airport for me and an easy on and off of I-494. I would stay here again, but I wonder how the cheetos were missed when the room was cleaned. Mehr

nothing fancy just a nice place to stay if you are going to Mall of America or Airport and need a room. Don''t count on the morning breakfast.

We had a pleasant stay. Didn't need much but a clean comfortable bed and that we had.

Front desk clerk was very accomodating. The beds were really comfortable. I would stay again.

When I booked the room it said that I would be able to leave my car there for free while we were travelling. I was charged $30 to leave my car there for 5 days. Also, We did not have a TV remote in our room. The front desk tried to help but was clueless about finding another one.

Great location for us as we needed to be close to airport for am flight. Good free breakfast also. Only complaint was lumpy pillows.

When we first got there the two rooms that I had gotten were a floor difference apart. We went and asked the clerk if we could have two rooms that were connected or just next to eachother and he rudely stated "we do not have connecting rooms here." However, he did get us a room that was across from one of the other rooms so we were satisfied with that. […] Both the rooms we had were nonsmoking and everytime we walked in they smelt terribly bad smoke. I informed the front desk and it was as if he did not even care what I had just told him. Also, on each set of curtains in both rooms there was stains on them. I am not sure what kind of stains, maybe from the smoke? But they were rather disgusting and not a sight I would choose to look at. Mehr

The evening staff wasn't too welcoming but the morning staff was fantastic. When it says 24 hour transportation to/from airport it doesn't mean a shuttle & there's no place to call them (from what I saw) at the airport like you can for other hotels. I had no idea how to get there and no way to contact them (my phone didn't work in that part of the […] airport). The hotel will call a taxi for you to get to the airport and I'm not sure how getting there works but they said they will pay for the taxi which would have been nice to know before I arrived. I had to secure my own ride there. (unbelievable) The first room I was given smelled of smoke and the phone didn't work so I asked to be switched. I was assured all rooms are non-smoking but they must have been smoking at sometime because it was noticeable in both rooms. In the second room the lights didn't work but I was too tired to complain so I just handled it. It's okay, it's a hotel and cheap but if you are allergic to smoke you may rethink staying there. Mehr

Excellent hotel, very clean, pool area great, had a great sleep after a long day's drive.

We stayed for 3 nights. We had a few problems with the room, our phone never worked and when asked no one fixed it, they never replaced the exact amount of towels, always less, they did not replace the soaps or shampoo. The tub was dirty upon arrival. HOWEVER: the bed was very comfortable, pretty quiet in the room, pool was never over busy so that was […] nice, many pamphlets with coupns available and the breakfast was well stocked. Mehr

The carpet was wet in our room. No listing of channels on the tv that were available. Some of the channels didn't have sound. No fitness center and the breakfast looked disgusting.

Hotel is refurbished... very old... elevator in substandard working order.. very slow, breakfast buffet very overstated. Given a third floor room at 2:00 p.m., stated the 1st & 2nd floor were already taken???, other desk clerks very helpful in getting us directions. For the price .... it's not worth staying there!

the neighborhood is a bit scary. upon our checkin - wanted a cup of coffee - got a cold cup of coffee. Requested more pillows, never got them, asked for more towels waited while dude got them, it was as if I asked for his first born. We've stayed there twice, first time was much better than this time. Its questionable if we'd ever stay again.

I had chosen this hotel for a 2 night stay. On the first night we were accused of smoking in a non smoking room. We told the front desk to come right now to our room to see if we were smoking and he did. When he came in the room we said see we are not smoking and he agreed then left. I went down to the front desk to ask why we were being accused and […] he was totally rude. Told me that we were the only people staying on that floor (which we CLEARLY were NOT, as I had seen at least 3 other rooms by us with occupants) and he told me he could not tell me any more information about the issue. With that being said I told him I was very upset because we were being accused of something and we are paying to stay there. When I checked out everything went smoothly. I then went and looked at my bank account and saw that I had an extra charge of 150 from the Hotel. I called and spoke with the manager. He told me it was a charge for smoking in a non smoking room. I then told him how we had someone come right down to check our room out and that if we had been smoking why would we ask someone to come down. He agreed. I also told him that the front desk attendant would not tell me any information nor was I told anything about the charge when I checked out but yet I can get charged to my account without my knowing. He told me he would talk to his staff and call me back later that day. He never called. I then called back the next day and when someone FINALLY answered the front desk phone I told him I had called yesterday and he never returned my call. He said "oh the charge has been reversed." I asked why he didn't call me to tell me that they were giving me a refund and he said "he forgot because they were busy". I told him wow and hung up the phone. I cannot believe how unprofessional a business can be run and especially when it is a Hotel chain. Especially for a manager saying he "forgot" to call back. Wow, very professional. We were able to get to local attractions easily when we stayed at this hotel. The hotel manager was very helpful at all times.

Good location to MOA. Rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet. Pool area was decent although the whirlpool jets were not working the 1st night. Breakfast area is way too crowded. Also not enough fresh fruit. Eggs were processed "patties", hash browns were just mashed up tator tots. Shower water temp on Saturday morning was lukewarm at best. Sunday water […] temp was normal. Overall the hotel was okay. The neighborhood was a little further away from the airport and MOA then it appears on the map. The main disappointing thing was the airport "shuttle." I was unaware that it would really be a taxi cab and not at all related to the hotel.

We chose this hotel for the location (not far from the Mall of America) and the price. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They even switched our room when we discovered a lingering smoke smell. The hotel went smoke free about a month ago, but the rooms that had been smoked in before the change still smelled of it. The breakfast was great! We […] enjoyed the variety and the cheerful staff. Our three kids loved the pool area too. Overall our stay was good, we expected a decent room without many extras and that's what we got (the fridge and microwave were a nice surprise though)...however this property appears to be in need of some renovation/updating. The hotel was clean and had a good size pool and hot tub. We had a little bit of trouble with the air conditioner, but it eventually worked. The bed was comfortable. The neighborhood is a little questionable, but we had no trouble with it.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a girls shopping trip. There were three of us and did not want to share beds, nor book 2 rooms. This was the only hotel we could find that had 2 queen size beds and a sofa bed. We had booked online and they just gave us any room, so if you are in this situation, after the room is booked I would suggest calling the […] hotel to book this specific room if it is possible. We managed to get the proper room with no complaints from the staff. All the staff were very polite. The hotel was only a few minutes from the mall and right by the freeway, so getting around was easy no matter where we ended up going. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and will probably book with them again if we get to Minneapolis in the future. Mehr

Second time staying at this location, very satisfied. Will stay there again when traveling to Minneapolis.

Had to have them call a cab for me - no dedicated shuttle. At least it came pretty quickly. The room was smelly and the furnishings dated. Old carpet. Bed was pretty comfortable.Free breakfast was good. I think you could find a deal near the airport/Mall of America that is in better shape/newer.

Very close to Mall of America. Hotel is clean; staff was very friendly. Quiet rooms. Nice pool and hot tub. Would recommend this hotel!

The service was excellent, the rooms were clean, but Hotels.com booked for me a room with 2 queen beds when they told me that they had booked a suite with 2 queens and a sofa bed. When I arrived, all of the suites were taken. They gave me their "overflow room," which is a suite right off the lobby and pool area. It was fine, but we got no sleep because […] it was so loud (people carrying on in the lobby and pool until very late). This hotel is just fine for the average person, other than a fridge in the room, which I really appreciated, the room was just as comfortable of a room as one with the glamorous attributes. It wasn't run down, nor was it the Trump, but I was very satisfied and it was quiet too. I appreciated that the cab was called on time to arrive at such an early […] time of departure. Thanks. Mehr

The only thing I like about our stay was the location of the hotel.... Other than that, it was noisy, and the front desk never followed thru on their promise. There is only ONE ice machine located on the first floor, far away from all the rooms. The pool area was out of towels every time we went swimming and when the front desk was told they only brought […] in about 6 towels.... Mehr
